I would like to download my books and pdf file from my ipad ( ibooks) to my macbook pro (ibooks) both using the same icloud and apple id.
no joy and getting annoyed. Please help me

Welcome to the Apple Community.
You can drag all your contacts (all at once) and each calendar from address book and iCal to your desktop as a back up/copy. Once you have set up iCloud using the ID for your apps, books and tunes etc, you can add the contacts and calendars to the new account by clicking on the desktop files, iCloud will sync them to your other devices.

Can anyone share the knowledge of how to download a file to clients

Here is what I've to do:
I've a text file on server.
Client can download that file whenever he/she wanted.
What is the easy/best/efficient way to do this.
I know how to read the file using streams
I know hot to write to the file using steams
But I've no knowledge of sockets.
JAVA and/or JSP is ok.

Looks like the file should be on a FTP / HTTP server. The client would then use standard URL-based classes to retrieve it (see java.net.URL and java.net.URLConnection). Whatever you end up doing, I would not advise you to do socket programming when it's already done for you.

Is there a setting that I need to set to get this to work? I can't believe I spent all day upgrading the operating system and then my old version of Aperture, only to find out it still won't support the raw files from my new camera. Anyone else having this problem?

I downloaded an audio book called The Fast Metabolism Diet. There is supposed to be a pocket guide in the accompaning pdf. The audiobook also refers to charts and recipe lists. How do I get these from i-tunes? Do I have have to buy the book to get these? Please help.

How to download a file from server machine to client machine using jsp

Hi,
In my application, I have an excel file stored on my server machine. How can I download that excel file on to my client machine using jsp. Is there any other way I can open that file from my machine and save it in my machine using jsp/java?
Its an emergency for me to do this.
Can anyone provide me the full code to download a file from server machine as I don't have
time to browse through various sites.

Unfortunately I don't have iPhoto (running Windows).
I did, however, figure out a work-around.
I created an empty directory on my computer, and told iTunes to "Sync Photos from..." that empty directory. This deleted all the photos from the iPod (go figure).
I then set the "Sync Photos from..." dropdown back to directory that actually contained all my photos, and sync'd again.
And, yes, they all loaded onto the iPod at their better, higher resolution.

Create a folder on you PC and copy the pictures you want on the iPad into that folder. Then start iTunes and plug in your iPad. In the column on the left (about half way down) click on the name of your iPad. Then click on the photos tab near the top and to the right of the screen. Check the box that says Sync photos and then select the folder you put your pictures in from the drop down menu on the screen. Then click Apply down at the bottom right hand side of the screen. If you are running the Adobe Reader app on your iPad you can upload your pdf to .crobat.com and then download it to your laptop
On your iPad open your PDF in the Adobe Reader app
Select the save icon in the top toolbar - looks like a doc with a wrench)
Select 'Save to Acrobat.com'
Select the 'Get Started' button
Enter you Adobe ID and password
Your file should be saved up to Acrobat.com
Go to your PC
Launch your internet browser
Open https://files.acrobat.com/
Log into Acrobat.com with the same Adobe ID as you used on your iPad
Your file should be available
Select the file and select the Download icon
You can download the file to your hard drive
Another option is
Go to you PC
Launch Adobe Reader
Select File > Open
From the Open Dialog select the dropdown arrow beside 'Open from online Account' - select Acrobat.com
You will be prompted to enter your Adobe ID and Password
You should then see your PDF in the listings
Select to open
Once open you can save to your desktop

You can do this in steps.. First use the built in method for uploading a file into the flows files object, Next you would copy the file out to an Oracle built directory on your UNIX box using utl_file.put_raw..

Anyone have experience moving files from an iPad to a Mac?

Dear Folks,
I need a way to transfer files from my iPad to my Mac, to deal with the content (music and videos right now, but probably other types of files in the future) that iTunes doesn't back up. I've come across two programs that supposedly will let me mount an iPad on the Mac desktop and/or allow me to transfer files from it to my Mac. Deggie and dwb also know of several and have kindly mentioned them. So, I'm considering:

I can tell you with certainty that for documents of any kind "GoodReader" is an excellent app. It will let you connect to your mac via wi-fi. It mounts it as an external drive and you can create folders and drag files to the folders.
I haven't tried dragging any movies or music but there wouldn't be anything to stop you from doing so. There is also a file management component to the app that lets you choose an "Open with ... " type of dialog and open a file with pages if it is a .doc file, or GoodReader can open pdf, doc, xls and many other doc types.
Very happy with this .99 cent app. I agree with the other question though. If I rip a dvd, I use handbrake to convert to mp4 and add to my iTunes - then sync as per normal.

You can PDFs to the iPad, but first you need one or more apps on the iPad that supports PDFs - unlike a 'normal' computer the iPad doesn't have a file system, and everything on it has to be associated with an app.
Options include free apps such as Apple's iBooks app and also Adobe Reader - and paid-for apps such as GoodReader (which also supports read-only of other documents types).
For iBooks you can first add the PDFs to your computer's iTunes via File > Add To Library, and you can then sync them by selecting the iPad on the left-hand sidebar of your computer's iTunes (on iTunes 11 you can enable the sidebar via option-command-S on a Mac, control-S on a PC) and using the Books tab on the right-hand side to select and sync them.
