Based on other users asking for help with crashes - looks like you don't have enough RAM to run Maverick and other applications at the same time.
Find Apple has not been clear on what you should do before you upgrade - including finding out what software needs to be upgraded to work with mavericks and exactly how much RAM you need.
seems 4GB is just not enough.

My latest pano photo have missing landscape. Some of the photos are merged into one. I can provide the examples. What could cause this problem on a new 5C?

Thanks for the input. I was finally able to find some test conditions that duplicated the problem, and it is either that or some other out-of-spec diffraction distortion.  So I sent it off for repair.

Try to Restore with iTunes on your computer. If this does not work, there is full Warranty. Make Genius reservation or set up service and take or send to Apple for resolution.

  • I am completely new to Logic pro x. Can anyone help me on what to do and how to start making basic beats?

I just purchased a mac and bought Logic Pro X. I have used fruity loops a little bit but this is completely different. Can anyone help me on getting started to make basic beats or anything?

Just a suggestion. You can pick up Apple Pro Training Series Logic Pro 9 & Logic Express 9 (iBooks or Amazon). It will be a good start as the versions are somewhat similar. It may be a while till something more current and specific will be out for learning Logic Pro X from the ground up.
There are few Youtube sources are available as well.

Uninstall both Avast and Symantec ..
Uninstall Avast >  How to completely uninstall avast! Free Antivirus from a PC or Mac
Avast has caused many Mac users problems as noted from the results of an ASC search here.
Uninstall Symantec/Norton >  Download and run the Norton Removal Tool to uninstall your Norton product
Excellent user tip >   Viruses, Trojans, Malware - and other aspects of Internet Security: Apple Support Communities
Having one anti virus software installed is not necessary, two is overkill.
If your Mac contintues to generate kernel panics after uninstalling Symantec and Avast, the uninstallers do not always delete all the associated files.
Backup your important data then reformat the drive and reinstall OS X using OS X Recovery

Ok.. read C12 and C17 is also relevant in Pondini troubleshooting.
    http://pondini.org/TM/Troubleshooting.html
    Try the above.
No luck then you should do
A1 .. Load the widget so you know what TM is doing.
    A4 .. Reset of TM.
    A5.. Verify the backup.
First thing.. though.. do a full network reboot..
Turn off everything.. restart the modem.. wait 2min.
    Restart the TC.. wait 2min
Restart the computer. See if it now functions.
You might have to reset or do more severe stuff.. but try with that.
I am offline for 8 hours..
Pondini or one of the others here might be able to help further.

  • Can anyone help me understand what "Excessive Probe Frames detected" means?

I am seeing many APs in a SWAN implementation generating the following errors. Clients seem to be getting disconnected regularly... Can anyone give me a guess as to what this means? The location where this is happening is a bit light on access points, but has ample radio coverage. A site survey and walkthrough was performed. Radio parameters were generated through site survey wizard... Thanks!

In medium-size wireless systems, 70+ in a half second may not by unusual.
Managment frames cover all sorts of status polls, beacons & the like.
If you're looking for good references, O'Reilly has a "Definitive Guide to 802.11" that's pretty good.
I also have & use the Planet3 CWNA/CWSP/CWAP certification study books, published by Osborne. They're excellent study guides for the wireless stuff, and also make pretty good references.
(CWNA - Certified Wireless Network Administrator, CWSP - Security Professional, CWAP - Analysis Professional)
If you're gathering tools, a wireless "sniffer" can also be a Very Good Thing.
AirMagnet is (by my understanding) a "cadallac" system, and pretty expensive (~$5000.00)
WildPackets "EtherPeek" for wireless also appers to be an excellet system (but it's also ~US$ 2500 or so).
I use Tamosoft's "CommView" for wireless. It's a very good basic analyzer; it doesn't have all the bells & whistles, but definately gets the job done.
    Full retail it's ~US$500.00.
If you mention that you are studying for CWAP, there's usually a good discount (~$300.00 for the full package).
You can also get a one-year license for ~$200.00.
You can put in all of your systems with aliases (MAC and/or IP) for rapid ID and see which system is sending what (and log it). It can also show you other interfering or malicious traffic.
It's hard to make an evaluation without actually seeing the traffic and the source/destination info.
It could be something as simple as bad drivers, it could be something much more complex ... no way to tell unless you can see what's actually happening.
The probe frames can be someone gathering information about your system, or it could just be a bunch of clients trying to associate.
What kind of authentication do you use (if any)?
    Good Luck
    Scott

  • Can anyone help me diagnose this water problem before I take it to the shop? PLEASE

    Hi!
So, basically on Wednesday night around midnight I was taking my make up off by my mac and some of the make up remover dripped in... (as it goes in eyes it hasnt got anything sticky or really strong in it, but I guess it is still oily). Anyway when it first happened I tried to wipe the water off immediately, I thought it was such a little bit it wouldnt have mattered but then the keys started going funny- I would press E and W would come up or lots of eeeee's. So I then turned it off immediately and continued to try to dab any liquid I could see. I then (which I now know is a mistake) blew some cold air on to the keyboard with the cold setting on my hairdryer, from a distance and for no longer than 30 secs. Then I tried to turn the mac back on... it turned on fine, screen was normal and mouse worked as normal, when I tried to type my password in to log it seemed that the keyboard was not communicating with the computer, no little dots were coming up to say I'd entered a letter.
I then left it to dry for around 22 hours upside down and open. Turned it on again last night and the same thing happened- turning on ok but keys not working. Left it again over night last night and this morning still no joy. I took it to two computer repair shops (thinking maybe could fnd a cheaper solution than with apple) and one said they did not deal with macs, and the other said they were going to charge me 280 euros (I live in France.) I don't trust the second shop so I'm not going to pay that anyway.
Basically I was just wondering if anyone has any idea what I may have actually done to it, as it doesn't seem as awful as some things I've read on here when macs wont even turn on or the screen seems damaged. And if you do think you may no what is wrong, what will I need to get replaced and how much rougly will it cost me?
I'm well aware that water damage is not included in the warranty.
    Thank you!

Also, I have read I should take the battery out... but I'd have to unscrew the bottom to get at it... which i don't know if I trust myself doing.
And bearing in mind I've turned it on a few times to see if it is working (BAD I KNOW) is it still worth leaving it to dry for a few more days before taking it to Apple store of will I have already completely ruined its chances of surviving?

  • Firefox won't load any online flyer pages, while IE can load them fine. What is causing this?

I noticed after an update a few months ago (sorry, can honestly not remember which update may have caused this), all of the online flyer webpages wouldn't load. They'll show up as a blank page or everything on the site will load minus the actual flyer. This happens if I try to view the HTML flyer or Flash version... Here's a list of the ones I like to check out online, and I have to open up IE now to load them (very annoying!):

    [http://yourindependentgrocer.com/LCLOnline/flyers_landing_page.jsp?flyerView=flip&flyerId=10600036 Independent Grocer]
Most of these ask a postal code, here's one in Ottawa Ontario (K1R 6B2) for those who want to try loading the pages.

It seems that '''every'''solution want to begin with "start Firefox in safe mode" and then check your addons/plugins one at a time. This is extremely time consuming and irritating. I'm almost at the point of looking for other browsers.

  • What is causing my kernel panic?

My MacBook Pro (retina, late 2013, i7, 16GB) is crashing every now an then. If i remember correctly at every crash one of the following applications were open: Chrome, Brackets, Spotify.
It starts with a frozen screen (and audio being shut down) for a couple seconds, then the screen goes completely black and this crash screen appears.
It looks like this: (http://i.stack.imgur.com/Tliko.jpg) Note: this image is not taken by me, i just found it on google.

I hope someone can help me.

You need to uninstall the software according to the developer’s instructions, not app cleaner. Whatever the TACC kernel extension is, find out. Google it. Removing third party kernel extensions is the first step in isolating the issue. If the issue ceases once the offending software is removed, then your issue is solved. If you require the application associated with it, contact the developer/their support team, provide them with the report. Make them aware that their software is causing kernel panics. Beyond that, find an alternative.
In the future, don’t install things, especially software that makes deep system modifications, without knowing what it is or how to uninstall it completely and correctly.

  • Can anyone help me understand what this problem is with Desktop Manager that I am having???

Hi everyone! I have downloaded the Desktop Manager Software on to my desktop. I've clicked on the "media"  option in the main menu.
I am brought to a screen that has 2 options. "Media Manager" and " Blackberry Media Sync".
Now, I want to download themes and wallpaper,  but in order to do that, I need to select "Media Manager" correct? ... Unfortunately this option is not available. I have my blackberry on, and is connected to the USB port. I am able to click "start" on the "Blackberry Media Sync" option, but not on Media Manager. If anyone could help me out, this would be greatly appreciated. I am going absolutely insane trying to figure this out! Thx for your help!!!!
    Much appreciated

It seems clear to me that if you unplug your AirPort Extreme and those Wi-Fi networks still appear, they are not being created by your Extreme but by someone else's router. They won't be useful to you.
To eliminate confusion, open System Preferences > Network, and select Wi-Fi from the left column. Click the Advanced... button. In the "Preferred Networks" list, select each Network Name and click the "–" (minus) button. Check the box "Remember networks this computer has joined". Click OK, then Apply.
Then select your PalmSprings network in your Mac's Wi-Fi menu. Ignore any others that may appear there.
If you still have funky problems, try renaming your AirPort Extreme's network to something other than PalmSprings. Use "Palm Springs" (including the space character - spaces are OK) or something else. Other networks with similar or identical names will just confuse things.
Use a non-trivial WPA/WPA2 password for your Wi-Fi network. Give your Extreme base station a non-trivial password as well. These ought to be different from one another, but are not required to be. Doing so will preclude any concern about your network being "hacked".
