Can anyone quantify "South of the country" please?...

Morning all,
At the risk of joining the vast majority of BT users who seem unhappy with the overall level of service on the forums, can anyone tell me what BT regard as "the south of the country?" We have BT Broadand and BT Vision and this morning can get neither to work. Yes we've followed all the usual 101 ways to resolve the issue without actually contacting the Service Provider, but all connections are good, all the lights on the Home Hub and the Powerline adapters are on and the correct colour, the phone works, but there is not Broadband and no BT Vision.
We seemed to get an array of error messages during the half a dozen re-boots I did before I had to leave for work (never the same one twice). Anyway having checked the service status via my work internet connection at work as the phone number on the BT Vision screen apparently wasn't recognised so couldn't speak to anyone anyway, there is a message saying that BT are aware of a problem veiwing web pages affecting the south of the country. Does anyone know where the south of the country officially starts so I can tell whether this is the cause of our problems? We live just south of Norwich in East Anglia so generally we come under the East of the country.
Apologies for the sarcastic tone but's it stopping me ranting and raving like many others about the generally very dissapointing and frustrating service we seem to get from BT.
Thanks all in advance of any help you can give.
Chris
PS - Nice idea by the way, get your customers to resolve issue's between themselves rather than doing it yourself. Genius! Sorry couldn;t resist.

Hi according to the Bt service status checker the south of England problem is viewing web pages thi however does not mean that you may also have a local exchange issue at he moment i would suggest retrying your equipment later today
As to your comment regarding the forum it is common practise for providers to have self help forums al major ISPs have them and they can save users a lot of time as personal experience often provides simple basic answers
