Can I delete iWork'06 after iWork'09 retail install ?

I see that my iWork'06 folder at Applications is ~1.95Gb which I would like to free from the HD. Is there any problem if I do that? I've already installed the retail version of iWork'09

KeyNote '09 can no longer save to Flash.
Other things have changed as well. Some for the better.

  • Can I delete iWork '06?

I have installed iWork '08 on two intel macbooks - I did not have any previous versions of iWork. On the new macbook, with Leopard pre-installed, only iWork '08 was installed but on my older "Tiger" macbook the same procedure resulted in both i Work "06 and "08 being installed. Can I delete iWork "06 from my "Tiger" macbook or does it need both for some reason?
    Thanks for your help.
    Adrian

    Adrian,
No, there's no reason you must have two versions. Just open up your Applications folder and drag the iWork '06 folder to the trash. Make sure you're not also trashing any of your personal files with it.

  • Can we delete the request after the Compression?

    Hi All,
Can any body tell me, Can we Delete the Request after Compression?
    Thanks In Advance
    Regards,
    Kiran Telkar

    Hi
You can delete data by request id even after compression.
    Steps:
    1. Goto Monitor screen and select the particular request.
    2. Click on the icon request reverse posting.
It will make the values of the key figure as "0" of that particular request. This is the way you can delete the contents by request id.
You can also do selective deletion and you will find this option in the manage screen of the data target under the tab contents.
    Hope it works.
Assign points if it is usefull.
    Regards
    Saddy

  • How can we delete the request after compression? is it possible ?if so how?

how can we delete the request after compression? is it possible ?if so how?

    Hi,
    You basically have 3 options:
    1. Use selective deletion and delete the error records.
    2. Do reverse posting and negate the error records.
    3. This is my preference. Delete all the data from the cube. RSA1 -> cube -> right click -> delete data -> choose "fact and dim" from pop-up. Now reconstruct all the requests that you need i.e ignore the error request. But before all this make sure you have the PSAs for all the request.

  • 2 medical softwares often can't open pdf, just after the adobe reader install but IExplorer succeded

    Hello,
We have two softwares ( medical application) which open pdf via adobe reader XI.
Theses softwares often can't open pdf, just after the adobe reader install( using adobeArCleaner+Customisation Wizard XI).
At this point Internet Explorer is ok to open pdf with adobe reader...
We have to launch manually adobe reader once on the computer to make the two applications to manage openning pdf
Launching adobe reader seems to finish the installation...
Did the editors have to put an "option" when they open pdf ( to act like Internet Explorer...) ?
    Thanks

I am very glad to have a so rapid answered!
    Sorry I was not precise...
    When the file should open,
for one application an error is happening,
for the other application which is a "web" application, an other window ( not "web") opens with adobe reader and the pdf document ( the expected behavior is to open adobe reader and the pdf file in the web window already opened)
I think that the file association is ok, if we double clik on a pdf, adobe reader is opening and then the file is opening  in adobe reader window...
If I open Internet Explorer and I search for a pdf on the web, It is openning in the same window web.
But something seems not finish for the medical softwares...

  • Can I delete iWork '06 once i've installed '08?

I bought the family pack of iWork '08 after installing and using a trial version of '08 and previously had iWork '06 installed. '06 is about 2 gigs while '08 is about 0.7 gigs and I'm on a gig diet. I'm concerned about doing thsi because my hunch is that '08 is using the (unchanged) resources of the '06 version and they are thus necessary. It looks like the trial version has already been converted or written over.
Can I delete '06 without a problem or just stay put?
    Thanks in advance.

Yes, I am repeating myself, but some time ago I wrote this in another post about the size of iWork '06:
The historic aspect is fascinating. On my first computer I had a perfectly well working word processor on less than a 720k diskette. Let's assume I bought a new one of those diskettes every day Monday to Friday every week for one year. If I placed them on top of each other in a pile, they would reach about the same height as a three year old child.
The amount of data I then would have is roughly the same as what Pages spends on one single picture in one single template in one single language - the guitar in the Lesson Flyer template. If that one had been removed from the templates in all languages, Pages would have been 160 Megabytes smaller. If it had been compressed to high quality JPEG instead of non-compressed TIFF, Pages would have gained 150 Megabytes.

  • Can't delete old iTunes after Mountain Lion install

I updated my Macbook Pro (late 2008 version) to Mountain Lion and everything was working great until I tried to open iTunes from the Dock and got a message about it being unable to open, investigated the Applications folder and discovered that I now have two versions of iTunes, 10.6.3 and 10.7. 10.6.3 is in the applications folder but 10.7 is in a sub-folder within Applications. In the past I've organized apps in folders according to subject - home office, internet, graphics, games, etc., and have had no problem deleting old versions of Apple apps after system updates by either dragging them to the trash or dragging the updated version into the applicable folder and using the "replace" function. Now I cannot move either the new or old version of iTunes to trash or between folders. I'm getting a message "iTunes cannot be modified or deleted because it's required by OS X".. I've searched these forums and googled the question, and the only solutions I've found have addressed Windows PCs.
From checking the "Get info" panel I can tell that the 10.6.3 version was installed prior to installing Mountain Lion, and 10.7 appears to have been installed either with Mountain Lion itself or in a system update shortly thereafter. I tried unlocking 10.6.3 in the Get Info panel, but that didn't allow me to move 10.6.3 to the trash.
    Thanks for any help.

Sure, but its the best you learn how to use the terminal. OS X is Unix and the most advanced tasks can't be done in the graphical enviroment:
    1. Open Terminal (You should startet in your "home" directory, this is the default)
    2. Type: mdls /Applications/iTunes.app (This will output a lot of information)
    3. Look for the last keyword "kMDItemVersion", it should show the program version (e.g. "10.7")
    4. From now on what to do depends on the position of the iTunes version you want to delete. If this is the most recent version you will leave this file alone. If this is an older version of iTunes you will want to delete it. So there is a decision to make.
    4a. Leave this file
    or
4b. Delete this file with: rm -r /Applications/iTunes.app (maybe the permissions don't allow this to do, I could not test it)
    5. After that you could use the finder to move your regular iTunes version to your desired position
    6. If you most recent version is in an other directory, e.g. /Applications/Music/iTunes.app, you have to do the steps above with this path
It makes sense to locate first the iTunes version you want to delete. You can get this information with the showed mdls command or with the information dialog of Finder. Click in Finder the particular iTunes icon once, so it is selected, show the information dialog (cmd+i).

  • Can I delete old folders after updates?

Can't believe it makes one iota of difference but am using WIN7.
Is there any reason not to delete old folders in Lightroom and PS when I upgrade or install later versions.
Example:  I have 5 folders of updates (plus 4.2)  in my Adobe folder for Lightroom starting with 3.4 up thru 4.1.
Can I just delete everything except 4.2?
I have PS CS6. Can I delete the CS5 folder?
    Thanks.

Most folks leave older versions on their systems to avoid potential issues arising from uninstalling an older version after installing a new.
Those who DO want to clean up uninstall the older software.  Are you saying you've done that but folders are still left behind?  In that case you'd be safe to remove anything explicitly identified as a version you've uninstalled.

  • Can't delete dynamic parameter after deleting command

I have a report that I inherited.  It used commands instead of stored procedures to retrieve the data.  I needed the data in a stored procedure, so I went through and systematically switched everything over to the stored procedure fields.  When I thought I had it all moved over to the new fields, I deleted the commands.  I then went to publish the report using the Publishing Wizard.  It told me that I had unused parameters.  When I went back to check the report, I found 2 unused parameters.  I tried to delete or edit them and I can't do either function (I click the delete or edit option and nothing happens).  I tried adding the command back in, but I still couldn't delete them.  The parameters are definitely not being used anywhere in the report because:  1) I have checked everywhere and 2) they do not display the usual check mark when a field is being used.
This is an extremely complex report, and it is database intensive on a production server (I've brought the system and its users to its knees by attempting to run the report.  It is designed to run at 5am and it still takes an hour).  So, I'd really rather not recreate the report.
    Does anyone have any ideas?
I saw someone else had this issue in April, 2007 (Can't delete a dynamic parameter from report), but it never got resolved (I imagine the user recreated the report).
    Thanks.
    Lisa

    Lisa,
Just taking a guess here (being that I've never seen this happen before)...
1st thing I'd try... Go back to an unaltered version of the report. and see if you can delete the parameter prior to any other modifications.
2nd thing... Add the parameter to the report design and refresh. This should cause the parameters to prompt for values. Hopefully this will, in turn, allow you to modify the parameters.

  • Can I delete Version 3 after downloading Beta 4?. I like 4 much better--faster

I need space on my crowded hard drive.
Can I delete previous version 3. and just run Beta 4?
    Thanks

If you do not use Firefox 3 you can uninstall it. When uninstalling make sure that you do not select the option to "Remove my Firefox personal data" as that option will remove all Firefox user data such as bookmarks and passwords.

  • Delete CS5.5 after CS.6 is installed?

Can I delete a trial version of CS5.5 after a purchased version of CS.6 is installed seccessfully?

You can, but perhaps you shouldn't - it will mess up file associations and a few otehr things. Therfore uninstall it befgore installing CS6. that aside you might still consider keeping CS5.5 around in case some nasty bug in CS6 ruins your day...

  • Can't Delete iWork Documents

Whenever I try to empty the trash with an iWork document inside, it says they're in use, but I didn't open them at all.

When they've been in the trash for a while, they can be emptied. I think it's answered.

  • Can not delete E-Mails after updating to Thunderbird 31.2.0

After updating to Thunderbird Version 31.2.0 today, i am not able to delete E-Mails. Just nothing happens. Even the folder "Papierkorb" dissappeared. Can anyone help?

I first noticed this problem yesterday -- which was also the day I installed TB 31.2.
Rebuilding the folder did not help and I also tried rebuilding the folder for deleted. But I still cannot delete -- either by the DEL key or by dragging some messages to the deleted folder.

  • Can I delete laptop files after backing up?

I am an art student and my computer only has 70 gb of space left and is running pretty slow. Is it possible to delete all my files on my laptop because everything is backed up on my external hard drive? Bad idea?
I'd appreciate any feedback  - thanks!

You clearly have limited if any experience with any qualified backup tool.  And your posts from last night indciate your actual age, so the lack of experience is not surprising.
A backup in a system like TimeMachine or CarbonCopyClone will eventually be rolled off of the disk to make room for more recent backups.  Then you have no copies.
Please spend more time reading and less time responding.  You will learn more that way.  Then eventually you will have something to actually contribute.
You can start learning by reading posts from me, Network23, stedman1, Camelot.
None of them suggest deleting from internal drive after it is on the backup.
But you shold follow your own advice.  Then live the consequences.  You will be less likely to give that advic again.
