Can I import items from the CAENHVOPCServer2.2 to DSC ?

I'm just starting to test DSC. I see I can import channels defined on NI DAQ (PCI) into the configuration file of the tag engine just using the configuration Wizard. On the other hand, I've installed on the same PC the CAEN HVOPCserver2.2 whose items are visible through the configuration wizard, but Labview (6.i) get stack when tryint to add channel dependent items to the conf. file.
I've also updated NI Logos to ver. 4.4 but this doesn't help.
Did anyone experienced (or solved) these problems ?

Did you try to connect from another OPC Client to the CEAN HVOPCserver?

If LV DSC isn't the only OPC client to have trouble, than we would know that there is something wrong in the OPC Server implementation. I suspect that other OPC clients will as well, since LV DSC OPC client works with other OPC servers.
When the TCE uses the server, it creates a group and adds items to it, and validates the items. It never activates the items. Then, we remove the items and remove the group. Some time right after we release the group, th
e server could cause a crash in our code. Possibly it's calling into our group after it's been deleted? Or something similar?
Given that our OPC client works with dozens of other OPC servers without exhibiting such behavior, it is maybe a server bug.
We have seen similar behaviors with other various OPC servers.
E.g. The server is deliting an object that provides the interface "IEnumOPCItemAttributes" when we still have a reference to it. This violates the IUnknown interface contract.
We can avoid their bug by releasing our interface prior to informing the server that we're done with the group.
This change is encountered in the LabVIEW DSC 6.1 Release.
A patch that avoids this bug in the Servers is attached for LV DSC 6.0.2.
Could you try the attached DLL with your OPC server? If this does not help you might contact the OPC server company for the latest version or/and you contact National Instruments support directly, thus the Applications Engineer can reproduce the beha
vior.

Can I remove items from the Services menu?

I think the subject line says it all: can I remove items from the Services menu? I have a number of items in the Services menu that I never use and I would like to make the menu shorter to make it easier to access the items that I do use.

There are a couple of things you could try. There's an application called Service Scrubber that is supposed to do this. But the web page says it's for 10.4, though it says it might work on 10.3
Alternatively, you can edit the Info.plist or Info-macos.plist file in each application bundle to remove its service from the Services menu. This post at Mac OS X Hints has a pretty detailed description of how to do it. I tried this on my iMac running 10.3.9 and it worked just fine.
Don't know about the Service Scrubber app, but if you edit the plist files, you'll need to log out and log back in before the changes take effect.
Also, if you decide to edit the files by hand, I'd suggest just renaming NSServices by adding an "x" to the front or something, rather than deleting the item completely. That makes the changes easier to reverse.

How can I remove items from the "Open a Recent File" menue. Many other applications allow the clearing of that file . Is this possible in Adobe Reader 10.1.2 ? If so how?

How can we remove items from the VF04 list?

We have a long list of items in VF04 that, for various reasons (some process related, some due to errors), are not to be billed. We have looked at applying filters to the list but there is nothing really suitable to hide these individual documents e.g. we could filter out some dates where none of the items on that date are to be billed but other dates have a mix of items we want to bill and others we don't.
I have done a search of this forum but didn't find a previous topic with a quick and simple method to remove items from the list .
Is there a method, other than billing them or sorting each issue individually, to permanently remove individual documents from the VF04 list?

Download a list of Pending delivers doc form VF04.
Paste the list in T.Code : VL09 (Delivery reversal) and reverse the delivery.
Then go to T.Code: VL06G Select the list of deliveries that has been reversed, select/delete all un- wanted deliveries.
This way you can remove all unwanted pending deliveries forn Billing due list (VF04).

I am trying to delete some items from the cloud but can't figure out how. Does anyone know how.

You can see what your iCloud storage is used for and delete any unwanted content at settings > iCloud > Backup & Storage > Manage...... on your iOS device. Or System Preferences > iCloud > Manage...... on a Mac.
You have 3 options......
    1.    Purchase more iCloud storage.
    2.    Delete data or back ups that are being stored in iCloud already.
    3.    Turn off items to be included in the next back up to reduce its size.

No you cannot.
You can ONLY buy from the itunes store of your country of residence as proven by your credit card billing address AND you may ONLY buy while physically inside that country.

Can't remove items from the selectMenu

I am using selectMenu as:

How can you import pictures from the iphoto app to your mac book pro into iphoto on a mac book pro using mavericks?

OK. This is two separate issues. To import pictures on your iPhone into your MBP, you can use iPhoto or the Image Capture app (in the Applications folder).
To use iPhoto, connect your iPhone to your Mac with its USB cable & launch iPhoto. Your iPhone will be listed it in the "Devices" panel on the left. Choose it & you will get a window where you can import all or selected photos as either "split events" or as a single event. If you need help with this, try opening iPhoto's built-in help & selecting the "Import Photos" item. That will open the Import photos from iPhone or other mobile phone help topic. Expand the Import photos from iPhone section & study it. It should answer all your questions about this better than I can!
To use the Image Capture app, you connect the iPhone & select it just like above. The app has several options for importing images, but what you may find useful if you do not want to import directly into iPhoto is that you can just drag any of the iPhone's displayed items onto the desktop or into a folder like you would any other file & they will be copied to that location.
As for organization of items in iPhoto, there are four ways they can be grouped for display (by event, by photo, by face, & by place). All except by faces offers a "By date" sort choice in the iPhoto View > Sort Photos menu item.

Can you remove items from the toolbar when opening a pdf in a browser?

I know you can turn off the toolbar with open parameters, but we would like to only display the zoom controls on the toolbar. Can I do this with an FDF file or some other way?

According to the Javascript docs for Acrobat 7 the App.HideToolbarButton function only runs at AppInit. Which means that I would have to have the javascript in a file. How can I do that from within the document? Is there another way to to do set this from our web application?

Can't remove items from the dock

Hey,
i'm having this problem for quite some time, and it's starting to annoy me.
When i try to remove something from my dock, lets say safari, for example, the dock auto reloads and the safari icon appears again. I tried to remove it dragging it out of the dock, using the "Remove from dock" right-click option and dragging it to the trash. It always reloads the dock automatically.
I joke around with the dock appearance a while back, but dont know what i did wrong to create this issue.
Anyone knows what's going on?

Edit: After looking for some dock locking programs, i noticed that this programs lock the dock, not allowing to insert new items on it. As i can insert new things there i assume its not one. I've also searched for some programs like transparentDock and such, but nothing showed up so i guess thats not the problem.

I can't import filmfiles from the hard disk into iMovie?

I want to move some videofiles from my pc (windows) to my new imac. I put the files on an external usb device and tried to import the files into iMovie. But iMovie does not import the files. Earlier i imported some files from my sony videocamera and this was know problem. can anyone help me with this problem.

Several people have mentioned this and it seems to be a change with 10.6
If you're using Safari then right click on an image and choose 'Add Image to iPhoto Library'. Otherwise drag the image to the desktop first.

How to upgrade a Library on an external drive created in a previous version of aperture so I can re-import it from the external drive into Aperture 3.5.1 on my MBP ?

I have exported earlier Projects [which were created in Aperture 3.4.5] to an external hard drive. Now I wish to reimport them into Aperture 3.5.1 - which I use after having upgraded to Mavericks - but am given an error message saying I can’t reimport because the external drive is storing a Library created by an earlier version of Aperture than I’m using now. It tells me to upgrade that externally stored Library.
The Question - one can only upgrade a Library on one’s computer, not on the external drive. How can I upgrade it if I can’t get it back into Aperture [3.5.1] on my MacBookPro in the first place ?

You can upgrade the library on the external drive. Connect your external drive to your computer.
Then select the library with the exported projects on the external drive and double-click it to open it in Aperture. This will upgrade the library to Aperture 3.5.1. Since upgrading can sometimes be problematic, I recommend to make a backup copy of the library before you try to upgrade the library.
After that you should be able to merge the library into your main library using File > Import.

Can I import projects from the full version of Final Cut Pro X from when I was using the trial version?

So I recently purchased the full edition of Final Cut Pro X, and was wondering why one of the projects I was working on at the time it expired imported back into FCP without asking me, but the other did not. I really need to use this file, but it is in the format of .fcpproject, so I really don't understand why I am not able to use it. It sometimes says when I try to open it that the version of that project was made in an updated version of FCP, or something to that affect, so it cannot be used. I have no idea why it says this, because as far as I know that is un-true. Any ideas?
Edit: I also don't want to delete the trial yet, a little apprehensive, like maybe I need it. But I might if it comes to that. I suppose the time did run out so it is practically worth nothing...

You do not open fcpproject files. You don't double click or anything else. The files have to be in the correct folder structure in the Final Cut Projects folder and the application opens them automatically. Can you post screen shots of the Final Cut Projects folder and its location.

I can't import images from the web into my iphoto 8

I installed snow leopard a few weeks ago and when I try to click on an image on a website like a friends photo from myspace, and drag it to my Iphoto's icon in my dock it gets rejected, But I was able to do that very same thing before and it would work. I don't know why it won't now unless it is snow leopard. can someone help me fix this problem? Thanks to anyone who can help.

Can I import video from a Firewire camcorder using the Thunderbolt to Firewire Adapter?

I have an older camcorder that has a firewire interface. My new iMac does not have any firewire ports. Can I import video from the camcorder using a Thunderbolt to Firewire Adapter or is the Thunderbold adapter only used for hard drives and displays?

Rather than an adapter, I would suggest you purchase a 4 pin to 9 pin Firewire 800 cable to run from the camera to the Thunderbolt to Firewire adapter. Those FW 400 to 800 adapters frequently do not work so well for importing video in my experience.
The Firewire cables are pretty inexpensive if you get them online. For example try Monoprice.
