Can I override default functionality of f(x) button?

This may be a stretch but...
My desire is to be able to have some control over the operation of the function browser when a user is accessing certain parameters of a .NET assembly. I would like to be able to have the browser display only the set of variables that are valid for that particular parameter as opposed to having the whole variable tree structure appear and the user have to transverse through it to get to the section where the desired variables reside. Or, at least have the desired section of the tree structure open when the browser appears.
The ultimate goal would be to have the ability to completely bypass the function browser and launce my own selection mechanism which will guarantee users can only select from a specific set of values. Is there a way of accomplishing either of these two desires?

As far as editing the actual appearance of the Expression Browser to only show certain items, this is not possible. There are a few elements of TestStand in which you can change the module which f(x) calls. Examples of such modifiable elements are message boxes, IVI steps, etc, but in this case the f(x) button functionality is built into the Sequence Editor. As far as creating a new screen or hiding certain properties, this functionality is not available. As far as opening up the properties to specify a default set of properties, my inclination is that this is not possible (as the Expression Browser is used in several different parts of TestStand), but I will investigate to find out if this type of default drill-down procedure is possible.

Not sure if this should go in the Flash forum or Captivate forum, but does anyone know how where to find ActionScript 3 commands for Captivate?
I downloaded a pre-made Flash button (source file) for Adobe Captivate that was originally made to make a video go to the next slide, when pressed. It does that fine, but I wanted to know how to use the ActionScript code in Flash Professional CS5 to have the button JUMP to a specific slide in Captivate, instead of just go to the NEXT slide. I know generally how code works, but have never really used it, and don’t know the specific command to make that happen. Currently the relevant part of the code in the Flash button reads:

cpCmndGotoSlide = 5
It always jumps to slide 9, regardless of the value I put in the place of the '5'. So it does jump to a slide, but I can't yet get it to jump to the slide I want. In other words,
cpCmndGotoSlide = 7
or
cpCmndGotoSlide = 13
or
cpCmndGotoSlide = 44
etc,
produces the same result: jump to slide 9. I followed the same format... Any idea why it wouldn't be working?

Can I restore previous functionality of the Maximize button in Yosemite

Yosemite is taking a little getting use to; I love the new look, but there are little things that are bugging me. With previous version of OS X, I could be on a webpage, and click the maximize button in the upper left corner, and it would maximize just enough to view the entire width of the webpage, which is what I loved. It would maximize to what you need without wasting your screen real estate; there was a distinction between maximize and fullscreen options. With Yosemite, they seemed to have taken a queue from Windows, and just made it less intuitive with simply turning maximize into a full screen option. Is there a way to revive this previous feature? (without reverting back to Mavericks)

Another solution is to double click on the empty space of the top bar of the app... This does the smart zoom.

Thanks for providing terrific solutions, I'm grateful. However, I still noticed one issue. These solutions only seem to work, assuming the intended application window is small to begin with. For example, if I load a webpage in Safari, and drag a corner to increase the window size beyond the efficient viewing angle, clicking the Option+Maximize button or double clicking an empty space at the top, become ineffective; nothing works to "zoom out" and restore the more efficient viewable size.

You have 10.6 on that machine, I suggest you stick with it for performance, third party hardware and software reasons as long as possible.
Consider 10.8 (not 10.7) when it's released, because 10.7 and 10.8 will require a new investment in software and newer third party hardware as it requires newer drivers the old machines won't have. (forced upgrade because of software, really nice of them)

hi all i wonder if there is a way to to override pressing function keys(f1,f3,f6,f7,....) in adf page for all of the page not just for an input text .
in another way can i make a client listener for a <f:view> or <af:document> so the javascript function will be called when i preses any button in keyboard without focusing in inputtext or a command button

the problem is that keyboard events are only raised from input components. client listeners can only added to ADF Faces components and af:document does not accept keyboard entries. However, I tried
af:document > panelStrechtLayout (center facet) > panelGroupLayout (scroll) and assigned a clientListener. At runtime has the desired effect

How to override the functionality of a method which is embedded in an swf

I have an swf for my application for which i do not have the source code. Now i want to override the functionality of a method (say doIt()) in a class (say MyClass.as).
Is there any way to achieve the classloader functionality that similar to the tomcat classloading functionality for java files.
i.e Tomcat's classloader searches the WEB-INF/classes directory before the WEB-INF/lib/*.jar. That means my original code is in lib folder, and the orerriden code is in the classes folder. In this case, tomcat will see the classes folder first, if my class does not exist in this folder, then it looks for the lib folder.
Can we achieve the same class loading functionality in Flex. The overall idea is to change the functionlity of a feature without touching the original swf and by creating an external swf and by calling it.

HP Pavilion tx2500z - Default Function Keys not working

I have a HP Pavilion tx2500z (model: KD436AV) laptop with Windows 7 64 bit OS installed. Since last few months, I am not able to use default function keys (F1, F2...F12) and other keys at the top row of the keyboard, including Pg Up, Pg Down, Home, End, Insert, Delete. However, all the Action Keys available on these keys are working without pressing Fn Key (e.g. Sleep, Brightness, num lock etc). I get same Action Key behaviour even after pressing Fn Key.
It looks like, somehow system is locked in action key mode and I am not able to come out of it. I tried to upgrade Bios (currently on latest F.0F version) and also tried to disable the Action Key mode in BIOS, but Action Key mode is not available in BIOS of this computer. Even to enter BIOS, I faced problem because F10 key was not working to enter BIOS setup. I had to connect external keyboard to enter BIOS.
I am disperately looking for help to come out of this situation. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

An idea for you would be to test the keyboard in a different enviroment ro see if it's hardware or not.
We can check the keys by booting into the recovery partition and opening a command prompt.
Power down notebook
Press power button then tap F11 until the screen says recovery at the bottom left or says Windows is Loading files. If it shows a different menu on your screen you may have press it too late or continues to load Windows you may have an issue w/ the partition.
Next when it loads into the menu choose an option so the program is slected. I select "System Recovery" then at the next menu press FN+SHIFT+D
At the commpand prompt window that pops up test the keys w/ issues.

if the function is in the same package as the procedure then merely specify the function name and parameters:
retcode := functionname(param1..paramn);
If in another package then:
retcode := packagename.functionname(param1..paramn);
If the function is in another schema then you need to grant execute rights to the package/function to the schema trying to run the function:
grant execute on packagename/functionname to otherschema;
you need to be the package/function schema owner to do the above grant.

With "video" fuction, after you record the video, you turn off the screen in one or tow minute, you need to record another video, you turn on the screen and slip camera function, but now it is not in "video function, it come back to "picture" function.

Nevermind I found why this was occuring. Under the same menu, there's an option called "Auto Aspect Ratio" I simply changed it to "off" and it solved the problem.
