Can I suppress security warnings?

I have an app that monitors a large number of servers. From my desktop every thing is fine, but when I deliver the app via jnlp, I get a security warning pop up for every server connection. I understand why the warning is a good thing, but it makes the app horribly tedious to get started. Is there anyway to suppress the security warnings?

Thanks for the info. WIth my background being in client/server, I thought jnlp would be a quick, easy way of publishing through the web. Teach me to think such stupid things.
The standard way to handle such a situation is to have a sever process perform the connections, and leave >>the JNLP application doing the UI.This is a case where the server is completely firewalled off from the other servers being monitored, whereas anyone wanting to run the app from a pc just has to connect to the proper vpn.
For http connections, from 6u10, WebStart will honour crossdomain.xml files placed on web servers.
I'm not at all familiar with crossdomain.xml, but after a quick look on the web, it seems promising. I'll need to do some research, upgrading, testing, blah, blah, blah. Most hopeful suggestion I've had yet. Thanks.

Can I suppress certain warnings?

I support Mac users, using OS 10.3.9 on G4s. Our workflow requires a lot of watched folders on UNIX servers. Some of these folders are write only, so users cannot pull their files out before they are done processing. Every time a user copies a file to the folder, they get the following message:
"You do not have permission to see the results of this operation. Do you want to continue?"
Is there any way to suppress this message? Some users drop hundreds of files a day and it gets a bit tedious to accept the message, every time.

Open the Script Editor in the /Applications/AppleScript/ folder and enter the following:
on open (A)
set the_dest to quoted form of POSIX path of (alias "path:to:dropbox:")
set the_src to quoted form of POSIX path of A
do shell script "cp " & the_src & " " & the_dest
end open
Save this script as an application; anything dragged onto it will then be copied to the dropbox without generating a prompt for confirmation. This script will not properly copy files with resource forks and will not preserve metadata while performing the copy. A separate copy of the script needs to be prepared for each dropbox.

Why I can't access the Security Warnings window in FireFox 4

In Firefox 3.6 I had an option in Option->Security settings to see the Security Warnings.
This feature is now gone that I have updated it to Firefox 4.
How can I change this options in Firefox 4 ?

How do I suppress linker warnings in xcode

Hello,
I'm currently trying to convert a product from Microsoft Visual Studio to Xcode. I have gotten it to start linking except that I am running into a problem where there is an error and I can't find it. The reason I can't is because I have probably over 2000 warnings then it suppresses all other errors and warnings yet errors out, but because they are suppressed I can't fix the error.
What I want to do is just suppress those warnings so I can fix the errors, I have searched online and could only find how to suppress compiler warnings not linker ones.
Any help is appreciated.

It would be better to fix them rather than suppress them.
Still, I think the easiest course of action would be to view the raw build output and just do a text search for "error". In the build window, click the tiny text page icon in the middle of the set of 3 tiny icons on the left hand side of the window.

in the fieldcatalog you are providing there is a field NO_OUT use this.
Loop over internal table and check fieldname. If fieldname = column you want to hide, NO_OUT = 'X'.

Can't open Security & Privacy preference pane?...please help.

I would be grateful if anyone could assist... I can't seem to open the security & privacy preference pane. I receive the following "Preferences Error" upon trying to click the icon in my system preferences:
First click: You can’t open Security & Privacy preferences because it doesn’t work on an Intel-based Mac.
Second click: Could not load Security & Privacy preference pane.
I noticed the issue this past week when I installed some monitor callibration software. After downloading, the software's interface text did not load (it was simply blank for the drop down menus). The manufacturer tried to help me by clearing font cache and such, but that was not the issue. When he next directed me to the S&P pane, that's when I noticed I couldn't open it to adjust anything.
* I did go into Users & Groups and created a new admin user. I was then able to open the Security & Privacy pane, and load the monitor calibration software without any problems, so it seems to be a user issue I suppose? Tried to trash some security preferences, reinstalled 10.8.2, but with no luck.

Try booting into the Safe Mode. Shut down the computer and then power it back up. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This does some maintenance routines and 3rd party applications don't load. Sometimes 3rd party applications are the problem. If your normal user account works in Safe Mode, it is probably a 3rd part application.

When I close firefox "everything " is cleared! EXCEPT when I open it again and anything i have copied to the clipboard (paste icon) remains lit... I believe this can be a security breach because I clear everything when closing firefox !!

I have my settings to clear everything when I close firefox ver 3.6.13. If I copy something to the clipboard, the Paste icon lights up so I can paste the text... which is normal.
The problem is when I close the browser and everything is suppose to clear (history, etc) the PASTE Icon still lights up for me to paste again.
This can be a security breach because I want everything cleared when closing the browser !!!
The only way I can rid myself of this problem is to restart the computer... which clears the clipboard of the operatinging... which is absolutely normal as well.
I should not have to restart the computer each time.
Try It !!! type text in any box... then paste it by using the PASTE Icon
CLEAR all your history, everything ... then close firefox
Reopen the browser... and the PASTE Icon will light up

I only had a few addons installed, I disabled Zone Alarm toolbar, View Source Chart 3.01. I also had 5 separate java console updates/addons, and I uninstalled all but the latest java console 6.0.21. All I have now is Roboform 6.9.98, Firebug 1.5.4, Java console 6.0.21, Java quick starter 1.0. So far, so good, the problem has not occurred today. Can't Access Secure (HTTPS) Sites On One Account, FF or Safari???

First let me say I'm new to Mac. On one account I can't access secures sites like I can in the admin account. This may be a function of rights but am not sure? All updates have been done.
I can't login to this forum, my MobileMe account or my bank for example. I had to change to my other account or gasp, use a PC to post this message.
I installed FireFox trying to isolate the problem to Safari but that didn't pan out, I can't get to HTTPS pages in FF either.
I turned off Little Snitch thinking I might have denied something by mistake but that didn't help. I checked the rules and found nothing that wasn't allowed.
Nothing was changed in the router. I just turned on Mac and it worked. The iMac is connected to the router via ethernet cable.
I've used the search function and tried a few things that have been recommended for others but they didn't help me. I went to the keychain and did a repair, although it didn't find any problem. I over rode a couple keys to always allow them (Apple site stuff) and I ran the disk utility to no avail.
For reference I will post the information for both Safari and FF.

I think I may have found the problem. It's embarrassing to find it minutes after posting the message yet I tried to solve it off and on for three days! My brother who is a 20 year Mac user has been trying to help me too. I guess it's true what they say... sometimes it's better to be lucky than good. LOL
I turned off the parental controls. What I don't understand is that the no website restrictions box was checked. To me this means I should be able to go to any site I wanted. Can anyone explain why I couldn't got to a HTTPS page on a parental controlled account even though there were no restrictions placed on it?
It's late and I need sleep. I'll leave this open for now until I have more time to test it.

Can't open secured documents on windows 7 domain client with mandatory profiles.

While opening certain PDF files we have the problem that the user is presented with a message that he does not have the rights permissions. This happens twice, after that the users gets an empty page with the message the Adobe version might not be up to date. We use Acrobat Pro 10, but this also happens while using Reader 11.0.8. On our windows 2008 terminal services machine this could be fixed by giving the user rights on c:\ to create and remove a file. :O. On windows 7 this doesn't work probably because of UAC. But we've tried every solution to that available on the internet, disabling uac, changing uac options, changing rights on userprofile folders, changing rights on c:\ but to no avail. When using process explorer we can see it wants to create a temp file p328hkl.tmp or something like that on C but it can't and immediattely after is shows the error on screen.
Anyone who also has this problem or solved it? There are no problems with simple self made pdf files/scans but only with certain types of pdf files for which it tries to create a tmp file.

Thanks for your reaction. We do have AppData redirection in place. We redirect AppData to a share on our data server which works perfectly fine for all other applications. The weird thing is that Reader/Acrobat try to write to C:\ which to my knowledge should not happen, is this maybe a fallback because it can’t write to a different location? Users have full control on their own roaming AppData but not on their local AppData that is made by windows itself while copying the mandatory default profile to C:\.
I might use the wrong term while saying secured documents. I’m talking about a document created by Raet/Youforce a web application for personal administration. The documents can be opened by other viewers than Acrobat/Reader but then only contain the background and not the text. In Acrobat/Reader they do open normally when Acrobat/Reader can create the .tmp file. Otherwise it will not display the file at all. I would attach such a document to see but since it contains certain info I am not allowed to do so.
I hope we can work out a solution for this.

I have a combo box in Parameter Form. It has 3 options. I have 3 queries in Data Model.
I want to execute only one of these 3 queries based on user's selection from combo box.
I want that other 2 queries do NOT execute at all for that processing cycle. Next time user selects other option and an other query is executed and other 2 are NOT executed and so on.
Is it possible in Reports 6i in Client/server?

AND :parameter = <this query's value> (e.g. 1 or "SALES" or whatever)
in each query's where clause. Because this is 2 constants (as far as the SQL interpreter is concerned) it will evaluate it first. If the parameter is set to a value not for this query then it will return no rows with minimal overhead.

If you are unable to empty the trash, try holding the Option key while selecting Empty Trash.

Strange WLAN issue - can't access secure sites

I've just bought a Toshiba L100-120. Everything is fine except the following.
I can't access secure sites with the built-in Intel 3945abg device. Other sites are OK.
If i connect LAN, everything is fine. If I insert my PCMCIA-wireless card, also everything works. The only problem is: to access secure sites with the Intel wireless device.
I already changed the drivers, I tried everything. It's very strange :(

Im a little bit confused. Do you mean the secured WLan or secured internet websites????
If you cannot enter the secured, encrypted WLan you need to enter the right key.
In other case if some websites are not displayed you could try to change the IE privacy settings for the Internet zone.
