Can I use a a downloaded version of tomcat?

I had the latest Tomcat release 4.1.29 installed. Can I use it instead of the bundled Tomcat?
If so, can someone tell me what I did wrong when I run "ant install" and got the following Tomcat error?

Although you can download Tomcat yourself, it is recommended to use the Tomcat bundled with JWSDP 1.3 for developing/deploying your webapps. This particular version of Tomcat has been tested on multiple platforms and it will help us answer your questions better :-)

Safari is part of OS X and isn't available as a separate download. How did you get a newer version than the one that comes with Lion?

iPhoto 9.2.3 is incompatible with MacOS 10.9.3 Mavericks. If you are running Mavericks on your system you need to update iPhoto to 9.5.1. Only, the problem is, that this version is no longer available at the App Store.
The easiest way to get a compatible iPhoto version in that case would be to upgrade to Yosemite, MacOS X 10.10, and then download the most recent iPhoto version from the AppStore, iiPhoto 9.6, like LarryHN suggested.
If you cannot download iPhoto after upgrading to iPhoto 9.6 post back.

Can I use more than one version of Adobe Reader on an iPad adobe Reader Touch and Reader 11.1 . . I use Acrobat XI Pro although I had some old files that were stored on adobe.com from a prior version of acrobat 9 student edition.
I guess the same question for my Surface Pro2 Computer might apply, although I gather from what I read that you shouldn't have two versions of reader on a computer.

If I may add a qualification: on a device running full Windows 8, you may have both Adobe Reader Touch and Adobe Reader (normal desktop edition). This does not apply to the primitive devices which cannot run desktop apps (running "Windows RT"), and while I may be wrong, I believe that the Surface 2 is such a device.

I have downloaded for 12 hours initial installation on one mac for mavericks, and all installed successfully. Rather than download again for another mac, can I use the same download and copy on to the other mac..and if yes, where will I find it?

All you need to do is go to System Preferences > App Store and uncheck the automatic install of updates box, then download the Mavericks installer, and copy to a flash drive. You will need a flash drive of 8 G B or more since the installer is around 5.3 GB. The installer will be in Finder > Applications. You can then copy that flash drive installer to the Applications folders in all the Macs you have that are capable of running Mavericks, http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5842.
When the installer runs, the last step in the installtion is for the installer to erase itself. So makng a copy before the installer runs is essential if you want to avoid redownloading.
Installing from the same installer does not cause problems for Macs on the same network.

Look under the Store menu in iTunes on your computer for the "Check for available downloads" command and run that. You may find the tracks there to be downloaded.
If not, contact the iTunes Store Customer Service department from their Support page (select the category and subcategory closest to the issue you're reporting and you'll find either an "Express Lane" button - just follow the instructions to get to the contact form, or an "Email Us" button) and explain the problem to them.

I had the same problem as you. I used Software Update to update Logic Express to the latest version, and then it ran without any problems.

The fact that the OS requires 3.8GB of storage is ridiculous to begin with. Especially when they know there are a ton of 16GB models out there. Clearly another big brother attempt by Apple to force new iPhone sales which amazes me beyond description. If I experience pain with a product, I'm not going to buy another one and "hope" the problems go away. I'm going to buy a competitor's product.
