Can one choose the automatic colour change to an htnl link after using it to make it more obviously changed (currently two similar shades of blue)
having performed a search and visited a paticular web page produced by that search, the colour of the link changes and if found again in another search you know it has already been visited.
In many cases the change is from one shade of blue to another very similar shade of blue and it is very difficult to distinguish between them. An example would be at http://www.archive.org/advancedsearch.php?q=(parish%20registers).
Can this colour change be edited to something much more easily recognised?
I had the same issue and resolved it
I first remove the prefs folder and the plist files for illustrator in ~/Libary
next I logged off,
then I uninstalled illustrator using the adobe uninstaller(http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs5-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html)
Next I reinstall illstrator
after that it worked for me.

That only happens when you are running Windows in a Virtual Machine with OS X as the host. Shut down the VM and restart your Mac. Once the VM is running again and you insert a USB flash drive you should get that prompt again.

Thanks for answering. The version is XI.0.10. I just did the update yesterday hoping that I could now properly edit a scanned pdf document. Yes, it's happening on most all scanned documents. I followed your steps & found the list of fonts used in the document & then attempted to edit. The same occurs. When I type in a correction, I get an error alert... "the original font (in this case Fd 5805) is not available or can't be used in editing. Acrobat is using the font Minion Pro in its place."
When I select the text & right click as you suggested, my only choices are cut, copy, delete or select all, no "edit text".
I have no other options to choose another font. Thanks for any help you can direct my way.

An attempt to open a pdf file with Photoshop Elements (version 12) resulted in a pop generated by the Photoshop Editor stated "Impossible to execute this operation (opening file) because one of the specified colour is not managed". Is there any mean to adapt the file to make its reading possible?
Did somebody get the same problem?It is a high order probability that your SQL's report generator is creating the PDF, not Acrobat (which by design and EULA cannot be used in as/with server).
That the report generator outputs to an old-old version of PDF bears this out.
Wiki articles on PDF are very nice for those high level intro summaries.
To know / understand PDF you purchase and study the ISO Standard for PDF (ISO 32000-1:2008).
Rather than "PDF validation" you may want to consider addressing the appearent root cause of the problem(s).
You can change the email2fax application to one that can deal with older PDF versions.
You can change the report generator to one that can output to the ISO Standard.
(Perhaps the in-use application can be configured to output to the current version of PDF (i.e., the ISO Standard).

Hi there, I had a similar problem and was unable to resolve it. I spent about an hour on the phone with a very helpful AppleCare rep who was also completely stuck. It would seem that the only solution is to choose a setting with trial and error while the lid is closed.
My MacBook ended up getting stuck on a closed-lid reoslution that wasn't supported, so I had to do a screen-share with another device to see what the video card was sending to the external display and change it back that way. -

I am using Illustrator CS5. I am using a certain font and when I make a selection to use one of the letter options or a glyph, it does not take my selection; in other words, nothing changes.
What font? What system? What Glyph? What language settings? Could be anything. Either way, ask in the AI forum. You'll get quicker answers there - if you provide all the required info.
