Can pc monitor work with g3 powermac?

I have been trying to get an HP 20" lcd monitor to work with my old blue and white g3 powermac.  Is the graphics card not compatible for this new monitor an HP s2031 lcd?

Based on the info you supplied yes it should work as long as you are using a VGA to VGA cable. Your B&W has a VGA plug on the video card right?
If you are using a DVI to VGA from the monitor to the Mac that might be a problem. On your monitor is there an auto set/reset button and if so have you tried hitting that?
I guess the other thing to try is resetting the PRAM in your G3 by doing cmd + option + p + r

there is a app called Btv which will allow you to record video and audio that is inputed from the A/V card (wings personality card). depending on the cpu speed you have difrent recording results. i know it uses QT but im not for shure if it will use any codec that is installed in QT tho.
here is where you get Btv

i know there is others maybe for OS 9.2.2 but i would not know where to look. maybe some one else can chime in to add more choices

  • What larger monitors work with the 15" vga G4 iMac

What larger monitors work with the 15" vga G4 iMac?

It is not so much how large but rather a question of resolution and how it would look on a larger monitor than the original.
All iMac G4 15-inchers supported: 640x480; 800x600; and 1024x768 at a fixed 4:3 ratio--no provision for widescreen. The old rule of thumb for decent clarity for 4:3 ratio CRT monitors was:
    15-inch monitor supports 640x480
    17-inch supports 800-x600
    19 to 20 inch supports 1024x768
I believe you would find the same issues with an older 4:3 flat-panel monitor.
Also the iMacs can only mirror the resolution set on the built-in monitor so you can't have the external one set differently nor use it for extended desktop. If you set the built-in to 640x480 (would look nice at 15 inches) you are going to get 640x480 on the external regardless of how big it is. On a 19-20 incher, 640x480 could start to look pixelated.

  • HT4753 Can auto save work with Photoshop 5.0?

Can auto save work with Photoshop 5.0?
    [email protected]

No. Autosave/Versions must be built into the app itself to use those OS features. It doesn't work just because it's part of the OS. None of the CS6 apps support it, either. The only Adobe apps that do are the latest versions of Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements. And that's only because the have to in order to be allowed in the App Store. In both cases, Adobe also gives users a preference to turn it off.
What Adobe did do in Photoshop CS6 is add an autosave feature of their own. It saves your work according to whatever time increment you choose. Then if the app crashes, it will try to reopen the saved data when you relaunch the app.

Can Oracle APEX work with other databases like Microsoft SQL Server or Sybase... etc.?

Though, the Generic Connectivity does not cost extra.
It doesn't have all the features of Transparent Gateway, but if you can access the foreign database with an ODBC driver,
it's an easy way to integrate multiple databases.

In one application, I pull data into materialized views from MS Access and Lotus Notes.
Since Apex lives in an Oracle database, it inherits all of the functionality of Oracle.
There's not much it can't do.

  • 1080p. Can FCP X work with it?

I have a client (wildlife researcher) who needs to create some QT files for a scientific project. He needs the highest frame rate possible (he has a prosumer camera that shoots 1080p) Can FCP X work with 1080p? I told him that 720p has the same frame rate but he would like the added resolution. What do I do?
    Best.
    tom

Since FCPX will let you create a custom 1080p project with the following frame rate options:
    23.98p, 24p, 25p, 29.97p, 30p, 50p, 59.94p and 60p
I would say: yes, FCPX will support a 1080/60p project for the highest available frame rate. However, realize that 1080p can be *any* of those listed frame rates. The only thing you can discern for sure by "1080p" is that the video is single field "progressive" and not interlaced.
1080/60p is unsupported in AVCHD (so far) so your camera will either deliver some other format, and not AVCHD. The highest supported format in AVCHD (again, so far) is 1080/60i.
Other 60p size formats larger than 1080 supported by FCPX are 2K and 4K.

  • Making a view sonic DVI-I work with my Powermac G5 and/or Macbook

I am starting to do some work at a recording studio that is windows based, so I will have to bring my mac in, but I'd like to not haul my Apple Display too. The studio has a ViewSonic with a DVI-I connection. I know there are a few different types of DVI. I am wondering if I can hook the Viewsonic monitor right to my G5 powermac with DVI. Also, wondering if I use the mini-DVI to DVI adapter for my macbook if it will work, or if I need something special to make it work with DVI-I since I believe apple displays are technically DVI-D, maybe I'm wrong about that..
    Any help would be great.
    Thanks.

The G5 has a DVI-I connector, but the adapter is mini-DVI to DVI-D. If the Viewsonic is LCD, you may be able to replace its cable with a DVD-D cable, or get a DVI-I (F) to DVD-D (M) adapter.
    <http://www.computercablestore.com/DVIAdapter_DVI_I_Female_PID2792.aspx>
If the Viewsonic is one of those rare CRT displays with a DVI connector, you will need the mini-DVI to VGA adapter
    <http://store.apple.com/us/product/M9320G/A?fnode=MTY1NDA5OQ&mco=MjQzNDA>
followed by a VGA (M) to DVI (F) adapter
