Can SQL*Loader be used for Oracle html pages, for e.g Customer, Tasks etc

Hi,
Can SQL*Loader be used for Oracle html pages, for e.g Customer, Tasks etc.
Reason: We have a job that creates leads, tasks in 11i, but r12 is not working as expected, an SR is open with Oracle for a long time and no solution so far. I am thinking of using SQL*loader to populate the data, but these are html pages. Will SQL* Loader work?
12.1.4 / 11g db
Appreciate your inputs.
Thanks,
K

    Hi
Can 10G express be used to create an application for use with a 10G instance? I am new to Oracle 10G. I like the interface for creating applications, maintaining users, etc. Can this tool be pointed at a regular instance of 10G so that applications can be created against a regular 10G database not the express database?
Can PL/SQL proceedures that are created in 10G express also be migrated to a 10G database?

HEllo, i've a problem when i try to load a file, the message is:
SQL*Loader-926: OCI error while OCIStmtExecute(trigger_hp) for table <table>
    ORA-00904: invalid column name
what is the solution for this?
    thanks

The root cause is in the error ora-1426, which you can look up in the online error documentation at http://tahiti.oracle.com . No one knows every error message by heart. This means it is expected you look up the error prior to posting, and you don't expect any volunteer in this forum to look up the error on your behalf.
Also this is a typical candidate for being a known problem, and known problems can be found on My Oracle Support.

  • Date for Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse?

Is there a date for Oracle Enterprise Pack for Eclipse for Eclipse 3.4?

There isn't any activation or a Oracle specific perspective. If the installation was successful you should see the following features:
    - In Server view, New > Server
    >> "BEA Systems, Inc." node with a list of WLS version support (Older version)
    >> "Oracle" node, with "Oracle WebLogic Server v10.3" support
    - Switch to Database Development perspective
    >> right click on Databases > New - You should see "Oracle Database Connection"
    - Help > Help Contents - "Oracle Enterprise pack for Eclipse" contains the documentation for all the features.

  • Can SQL Developer be used for Oracle Support "HTML Output" Diag Scripts ?

    Hi All,
Oracle Support has asked me to run a diagnostic script (OTL_Diag.sql for anyone familar with the script) that produces output in HTML format using SQL*Plus to help troubleshoot an OTL problem we are having. Unfortunately I don't have SQL*Plus installed and my company is not on board with me installing it because of the SQL*NET connection required. Instead I have access to SQL Developer 3.1.0.7. While this works fine for most situations I'm having problems generating the required .html output file that Support needs.
I've tried runing the OTL_Diag.sql a couple of ways using SQL Developer. First, I opened the file from SQL Developer and using the Run Script functionality (F5) I executed the code that way. This method did give me an opportunity to input the necessary parms and it did create the 'start' of the HTML file on my (Windows) file system, but the script seemed to abort with a java error that indicated some sort of format error (sorry, I'm not a java person so I can't provide any more info, but I'll be glad to get the exact error message if anyone thinks that will help solve my issue).
My second approach was to open a SQL Window where I typed in @C:\OTL_Diag.sql without quotes. This approach also gave me the opportunity to enter the necessary input parms and it seemed to end normally. It also created the 'start' of the diaganostic output file on my Windows file system, but it 'completed' before any of the 'real' diaganostic output was written to the .html file.
The Metalink note clearly specifies that the OTL_Diag.sql script is to be run with SQL*Plus 10.2 or above so I don't think I can complain too loudly to Oracle about this...but given that I don't have access to this product (and it is useless for me to again ask to install it) I am hoping someone out there has some ideas or insight as to how I can use SQL Developer to execute this diag script in a manner that will produce the required .html output file.
Thanks in advance to anyone taking time to read my post !!

    >
As a result, at this point in time my only available tool to run the OTL_Diag.sql script (provided by Oracle Support) is SQL Developer
    >
Then you will have to edit the script, break it into pieces, execute each piece manually and save the output to feed into the next piece as required based on what the script is actually doing. Don't post the script or contents as that will likely violate your support agreement.
As I already mentioned the script may be using syntax and/or commands that are simply not supported by sql*developer. One likely area is the script may be producing intermediate output scripts that are then processed by a later portion of the script. If that is the case then my suggestion to execute the pieces manually should work but you will need to do some trial-and-error to see.
Even if you appear to be successful you will still have an issue when you communicate the results of your 'test' to Oracle support and they determine you didn't follow their instructions to use the proper tool.
Sounds like your management is either ignorant or incompetent so I suggest you cover yourself by documentating the instructions from Oracle support and the direct orders you were given to disregard those instructions. No need to discuss that issue further but clearly there are resources available somewhere in the org that has the proper privileges or they wouldn't be able to maintain and support the database. If they want to pay for support they should heed their advice. Nuff said.

  • Can SQL Loader load files on a remote server?

    Hello,
I normally use SQL loader on my PC to load an 8i database located on an NT server in another state. The input file is rather large and takes several hours to load-- even with all the contraints, etc. disabled. I assume this due mostly to all the network hops between my PC and the server. I now have an FTP that can place the input file on our Oracle DB server itself. It seems to make sense that if the files were located on the server, it would load much faster. My question is: is it possible to create a sql loader process to load files located on the remote Oracle server that I can initiate or control from my PC?
Thanks in advance for any help.
    Jeff

Windows Terminal Services will allow you to interact with the server where you are loading the data. You could FTP the file to the remote server, start a Terminal Services session, and type or run your parameter file at a command prompt. One thing to be aware of is setting the ORACLE_SID environment variable. When you set ORACLE_SID and try to connect to the database withconnect / as sysdbayou will get the following errorERROR: ORA-12560: TNS:protocol adapter errorbut if you connect withconnect /@<connect_string> as sysdbathe connection works perfect. Don't really know the details on why it does this but just a issue to look out for.

    My control file says:
    load data

    TRUNCATE

You can use the REPLACE function in your control file to replace whatever character, like ~ in your sample data, is where the newline should be with whatever your newline is on your system, like chr(10) as in the example below.
    SCOTT@orcl12c_11gR2> host type owb_test1.csv
    1|1013 park ridge~12345~irving|
    2|2013 park ridge~12345~irving|

    id,
    address "REPLACE (:address, '~', CHR(10))"
    SCOTT@orcl12c_11gR2> create table owb_test1

  • Can SQL Loader read newline chars - multiline column?

    Hello All,
I am using SQL Ldr (Release 10.2.0.1.0) to load from a .csv file to a single table.
The .csv file however has a column which spans across multiple lines (with a newline chars).
    Example below:
    Record1:
    A, B, "ABCD", "123"
    Record2:
    X, Y, "XY
    Z", "456"
    Record 3:
    P, Q, "P
    QR", "789"
Notice that record 2 & 3 has newline (it is not a word wrap)
My SQL loader treats each line as a new record!
I tried using the following in my control file but no avail
    INFILE 'C:\xyz.csv' --"STR '\r\n'"
I also tried using the following for that particular column but with no use.
    "REPLACE(:col_name,CHR(13) || CHR(10))",
Is there a way for this or is there a restriction on the SQLldr version or the Loader itself.
    Someone please,
    Thanks!

Did you [check out|http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rtfm] the section "[Assembling Logical Records from Physical Records|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e10701/ldr_control_file.htm#i1005509] " in the fine Oracle® Database Utilities - SQL*Loader manual ?

  • Can I make an Imageboard in a HTML page (using JavaScript)?

    Hello all.
Just like to say that this is my first post on the Adobe forums!
Anyways, I've started a website project in Dreamweaver CS6 (full version) and will probably be using Photoshop (CS6) for some parts of the site too. It's gonna be pretty basic but I want to make an imageboard (with JavaScript? I'm not sure...) where users who have logged in can post an image on the feed with a comment/caption to go with it.
How can I do this? Can anyone point me to a good tutorial on how to make this? Do I do it with JavaScript on the HTML page? (P.S. I am mildly experienced with HTML).
    Thanks in advance!

Unfortunately, there isn't anything in DW that can do this type of thing for you, although if you were to learn php and mySQL you definitely could use DW to create a site with those types of features.
There's actually quite a bit that goes into that kind of thing, more than just basic code, you need to think about security especially if you plan to allow someone to upload files, potentially infected with viruses, to your server.
If you're talking about creating a basic forum (being able to start topics, post pics and comments), there are a lot of free and paid solutions available online. Certain hosting companies even give you basic forums you can add to your site by following the instructions on their pages.
Unless you have a lot of time on your hands to learn all the ins and outs of PHP and the security necessary to keep your site and server safe, I'd suggest going that route.
