Can't compile with -renderingdiagnostics
Hello
getting contradictory messages here when trying to compile using the PFI in terminal
'/Applications/Adobe Flash CS5/PFI/bin/pfi' -package -renderingdiagnostics -target ipa-debug -provisioning-profile "/Users/john.doe/Documents/Certificates/JohnDoeLearningPP.mobileprovision" -storetype pkcs12 -keystore "/Users/john.doe/Documents/Certificates/iPhoneDeveloperJohnDoe.p12" -storepass password "HardwareRender.ipa" "HardwareRender-app.xml" "HardwareRender.swf"
I get an error
expected -target instead of -renderingdiagnostics
But in the Adobe packerforiphone_devguide.pdf it says
The -renderingdiagnostics flag must directly follow the -package flag.
Anybody else come up against this?
Thanks for the responce, however same problem ocurrs I'm afraid
osdtdes01:~ john.doe$ java -jar '/Applications/Adobe Flash CS5/PFI/lib/pfi.jar' -package -renderingdiagnostics -target ipa-debug -provisioning-profile "/Users/john.doe/Documents/Certificates/JohnDoeLearningPP.mobileprovision" -storetype pkcs12 -keystore "/Users/john.doe/Documents/Certificates/iPhoneDeveloperJohnDoe.p12" -storepass password "HardwareRender.ipa" "HardwareRender-app.xml" "HardwareRender.swf"

Can't compile with any layers hidden on timeline
Can someone explain what could possibly be going on?
Running CS4 I have a .fla that was compiling fine yesterday. Today I made some slight additions and it wouldn't compile, giving errors saying that various things were undefined. I was starting to go nuts until finally I made all layers in the timeline visible and compiled again. Now it compiles fine.
Just in case it was something Flash itself I created a new file, hid some layers and compiled and it was fine. So it's not the application, just this particular file.
What could be doing this? Why can't I compile with hidden layers?
Thanks for any help.Hi fizbeam,
This happened to me a while ago!
It's annoying.. somewhere in the publish settings theres a checkbox marked 'dont export hidden frames' and if it's checked it'll cause this to happen. -
Can't compile with QT4 anymore
Hi,
Since last upgrade I can't compile my qt4 apps with KDevelop or QDevelop. It says something like :
make: *** No rules to build target « /opt/qt4/mkspecs/linux-g++/qmake.conf », required by « Makefile ». Stopping.
The qt-config tool does not exist anymore. There is a qtconfig one but, doesn't seem to be helping.
I know that the files in the the qt4 package have been moved from /opt/qt4 to /usr/, but still I don't know what to do.
I'm stuck !The fact is I cannot compile ANYTHING in QT4 !
Let's take an example. I want to compile QPaddy (you can find it on qt-apps.org).
I set the vars (which doesn't seem to have any effect):
export QTDIR=/usr/share/qt4
export QMAKESPEC=/usr/share/qt4/mkspecs/linux-g++
export QT_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/include/Qt
I try to compile QPAddy :
qmake qpaddy.pro
make
Here is what I get :
cd src/ && make -f Makefile
make[1]: quittant le répertoire « /root/docs/qpaddy0876/src »
make: *** [sub-src-make_default] Erreur 2
And now the MakeFile :
# Makefile for building: qpaddy

Can't compile with Javac in jdk 1.2.1
Hi all,
I used javac to compile "helloworld.java" in jdk 1.2.1 but It didn't "helloworld.class" file and it also didn't alert.
my system platform Is:Windows 2000 server
Jdk:1.2.1
anyone help me to resolve my problem.
thanks a lot
anhntAnhnt,
If I understand you correctly, you say that you tried to compile "helloworld.java" using "javac", and it didn't create a "helloworld.class" file and you got no error messages, right?
Are you using an IDE? Or did you manually enter the "javac" command via a command window? What was the exact command you entered?
Good Luck,
Avi. -
I can't compile with gcc Solaris 2.6
I downloaded the binary gcc-3.0.1-sol26-sparc-local and I used the pkgadd command, but when I want to compile the tcpwrappers, the next messages is showed.

ld: fatal: File processing errors. No output written to tcpd

I suspect your problem is that if you are using Makefiles etc they do not contain the full PATH to this binary/lib hence your error.
If the above fails or is not appropriate check out http://gcc.gnu.org or do a search say using yahoo for "values-Xa.o" & "gcc" lots of hits ! -

Can I distribute the open source SWF compiler with my application?
I'm unclear reading the documentation if there is a difference between Adobe's official Flex SDK, and the open source version?
Can I distribute the open source SWF compiler with my application?
I have a flash application that users can change the fonts being displayed, if they supply the fonts in a compiled SWF. I found I can let the user select a font from their computer system, and using the mxmlc command I can easily generate a SWF with the font, which can be loaded by my application so the font will be part of the run time application when played on systems without that font already in the System fonts.
I was wondering if I could distribute the open source SDK so that I could compile these font SWFs for the user so they would not have to get involved in complicated Flash development. The audience is non Flash audience.
I tried using SWFMill but the fonts don't seem to work as they do with the mxmlc compile.
Thank you,
Scott KerrMoreover check also the compatibility of your open source license with MPL

Help: OJSPC can not compile the JSP with struts tag
Hi,
I am trying to precompile the JSP page with EAR package but OJSPC can not parse the Struts tags.
I always get oracle.jsp.parse.JspParseException:
Error: org.apache.struts.taglib.html.MessgesTei while reading TLD /WEB-INF/tld/struts-html.tld
My OC4J version is 10.1.3.2 and I did tried putting the struts-taglib.jar to /opt/oracle/product/app10g/j2ee/home/jsp/lib or /lib/taglib
but still do not work.
Can anyone tell me how to configure the OJSPC and let it support customerized taglibs?
Thanks a lot!This is a new problem with jdk1.4 when compiling with tomcat.
The solution is to ensure that any classes in WEB-INF/classes are in a package structure and the relevant jsp calls the same using the package name.

Can't find library when compiled with debugging
Hi all,
Compiling this code segment cannot find a library when using -g
bash-3.2$ cat tester.cc
#include <iostream>
#include <string>
using namespace std ;
static void
myRoutine()
string str= "this is in routine" ;
string str3 ;
str3 = str.substr(11,7) ;
if(str.substr(0,4) == "this") cout << "Have a hit" << endl ;
cout << "this is str3 - " << str3 << endl ;
int main(int argc, char **argv)
string str = "this is a test" ;
string str1, str2 ;
str1 = str.substr(0,4) ;
str2 = str.substr(10,4) ;
cout << "this is str1 - " << str1 << endl ;
cout << "this is str2 - " << str2 << endl ;
myRoutine() ;
return 0 ;
bash-3.2$ CC -g -o tester tester.cc
bash-3.2$ ldd tester
libCstd.so.1 => /usr/lib/libCstd.so.1
libCstd.so.1 (SUNW_1.4.2) => (version not found)
libCrun.so.1 => /usr/lib/libCrun.so.1
libm.so.2 => /usr/lib/libm.so.2
libc.so.1 => /usr/lib/libc.so.1
If I comment out:
if(str.substr(0,4) == "this") cout << "Have a hit" << endl ;
bash-3.2$ cat tester.cc
#include <iostream>
#include <string>
using namespace std ;
static void

static void
myRoutine()
string str= "this is in routine" ;
string str3 ;

cout << "this is str3 - " << str3 << endl ;
int main(int argc, char **argv)
string str = "this is a test" ;
string str1, str2 ;
str1 = str.substr(0,4) ;
str2 = str.substr(10,4) ;
cout << "this is str1 - " << str1 << endl ;
cout << "this is str2 - " << str2 << endl ;
myRoutine() ;
return 0 ;
bash-3.2$ CC -o tester tester.cc
bash-3.2$ ldd tester

Thanks,
JimAck! Please ignore my earlier posting. I did not play close enough attention to details in your post. I apologize for the confusion. Let me start over:
The Studio Express release you have contains a newer version of the C++ runtime library libCstd.so.1 than is available yet in Solaris patches. We bump the internal version number when we add new interfaces. The internal version number of the Studio Express library is SUNW_1.3.2. The version of the latest release Solaris patch is SUNW_1.3.1.
Some new string class operator functions are in version SUNW_1.3.2. I think these are also defined as inline functions in the compiler headers. When you compile with -g, inlining is disabled, and you create a dependency on library version SUNW_1.3.2. (Compiling with -g0 allows function inlining, and might resolve your problem, but read on.)
We have not released a libCstd.so.1 with internal version SUNW_1.4.2, so I don't understand how that version number could appear in an error message. Did you really see that version, or is it a transcription error? For now, let's assume it is a transcription error.
When you compile and link with CC, the program gets a runpath pointing into the compiler installation area. At program run time, the loader looks for libraries in directories listed in the runpath, with /lib and /usr/lib as last resort. The "ldd" command reports what the runtime loader will do regarding dependent libraries.
If the compiler is installed in /opt, a 32-bit program gets a runpath that includes /opt/SUNWspro/lib. In that directory in Sun Studio Express is a symbolic link that points to ../prod/usr/lib/libCstd.so.1, the library with version SUNW_1.3.2.
If you try this:
% /opt/SUNWspro/bin/CC hello.cc
% ldd a.out
you should see, among other things,
libCrun.so.1 => /opt/SUNWspro/lib/libCstd.so.1
(Depending on the OS version, you might see
libCrun.so.1 => /opt/SUNWspro/prod/usr/lib/libCstd.so.1 instead.)
But if ldd can't resolve the library, you probably have a corrupted Sun Studio Express installation. In that case, uninstall it, and reinstall from a fresh download.
If you run the program on a different computer where Sun Studio Express is not installed, the loader won't be able to find the right library version, and you will get "not found" results. I addressed this issue in another thread:

How can I deal with long sql by the oo4o?
I am using VB and oo4o to develop a sql executor which is a extention of an old system.
For some reason, I have to use oo4o v8.1.7 to deal with Oracle Database 8i to 11g.
But when I send a very long sql(11KB) to it I got a error in the VB enviroment.
The Err.Description is "automention error. Started object is disconnected by the client.".
The Err.Number is "-2147417848 ".
The sql that I send it to the program is a simple select sql that like select a, b, c, substrb(d, 1, 2), substrb(e, 2, 3) .... from A_TBL where A=aa;
This sql is normally executed by the sqlplus but I got an error by the oo4o.
When I insert a '' between the 30Xth items, it got exectuted normally.
ex. select a, b, c, substrb(d, 1, 2), substrb(e, 1, 2) ..... substrb(303th, 3, 4), '', substrb(304th, 1, 2) ... from A_TBL where A = aa;
How can I deal with this problem? Thanks.So how can use this function correctly?By learning what exceptions are, how they're used, and what you can do to deal with them. There's a tutorial here: http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/essential/exceptions/index.htmlAnd here's a quick overview:
The base class for all exceptions is Throwable. Java provides Exception and Error that extend Throwable. RuntimeException (and many others) extend Exception.
RuntimeException and its descendants, and Error and its descendants, are called unchecked exceptions. Everything else is a checked exception.
If your method, or any method it calls, can throw a checked exception, then your method must either catch that exception, or declare that your method throws that exception. This way, when I call your method, I know at compile time what can possibly go wrong and I can decide whether to handle it or just bubble it up to my caller. Catching a given exception also catches all that exception's descendants. Declaring that you throw a given exception means that you might throw that exception or any of its descendants.
Unchecked exceptions (RuntimeException, Error, and their descendants) are not subject to those restrictions. Any method can throw any unchecked exception at any time without declaring it. This is because unchecked exceptions are either the sign of a coding error (RuntimeException), which is totally preventable and should be fixed rather than handled by the code that encounters it, or a problem in the VM, which in general can not be predicted or handled. -

SUNWspro iostream error while compiling with SunStudio 10
We are getting the following error when we try to compile the C++ code using SunStudio 10 on Sun Solaris Sparc server.
We made couple of changes in the source code 1) whereever we have stream.h we replaced it with iostream.h and 2) include fstream.h whereever required.
Can anyone tell us where did it go wrong.

4 Error(s) detected.Remove the -I directive that points into the compiler installation. You should not have have -I or -L options that point into the compiler installation area, into /usr/include, or into /usr/lib. The CC compiler driver knows where to find system headers and libraries, and in what order to search the directories. If you force a different search order, you can break something.
If removing -I/opt/SUNWspro/prod/include/CC/Cstd does not fix the problem, compiling with -P or -E will show you the preprocessor output, and looking at the lines with the errors will usually show the source of the problem quickly.
BTW, you should be aware that the ".h" form of the C++ headers, like <iostream.h> and <fstream.h>, is not standard. Using them is not portable, because not all C++ implementations provide them, and those that do often have different content.
