Can't create a public connection

I have searched the forums and none of the solutions worked.
When I try to create a discoverer connection through AS control, I get this error:
An error occurred:oracle.disco.oem.configuration.DiscoConfigurationException: Failed to create new Connection. ORA-06510: PL/SQL: unhandled user-defined exception ORA-06512: at "ORASSO.WWSSO_API_PRIVATE", line 244 ORA-06510: PL/SQL: unhandled user-defined exception ORA-06512: at "ORASSO.WWSSO_UTL", line 546 ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error ORA-06512: at line 1
I've been googling it (and searching this forum) for the past 2 days and can't get it to work. Help anyone? Where should I be looking at?
I see in the error something about SSO, checked that component and it's up (like all the others) but its start time is N/A.
Any help is appreciated. I must create a public connection in discoverer in order to put worksheets into portal!!

  • Can't create a new connection

I just installed SQL Developer 3.0 with jdk and can't create a DB connection (same problem with 2.6). The form to create the connection simply does not open when I attempt to do so.
This link How do i add "-Duser.language=en" parameter to a user's jre using com. line describes exactly my problem. I tried to add
    AddVMOption -Duser.language=en
    AddVMOption -Duser.country=US
to the sqldevloper.conf file as instructed in that thread (which fixed the issue for that person) with no luck. I'm running Windows XP 32.

  • How can I create a database connection to Cloudscape database in 9iJDeveloper?

How can I create a database connection to Cloudscape database in
    9iJDeveloper?
    thanks.

    Hi,
I assume you have a JDBC driver for Cloudscape.
    1. In the IDE System Navigator, expand the Connections Node.
    2. Right-click on the Database Connection and choose New
    Connection .. .
    3. Click pass the welcome screen.
    4. In Step 1, name your connection and choose "3rd party JDBC
    Driver"
    5. Follow the rest of the steps and provide username/password,
class name and URL, test and you should be ready to go.
    Good luck.

  • Can't create a database connection

I've downloaded and installed a trial version of BusinessObjects Edge BI to see if my company should use it, but I'm having a problem figuring out how exactly to create a connection to a database.  I've used the Windows (I'm running Windows 7) ODBC tool to create a connection to a PostgreSQL 8.4 database server, and can use Excel and a trial of Crystal Reports 2011 to run queries against it, so I don't believe the problem is with the ODBC connection.  I've read as much as I could of the documentation and guides and tutorials on this site, and I'm pretty sure that I first need to create a universe in which I then create a connection to the database; I keep being referred to the Information Design Tool (IDT), but I can't seem to find it on my machine. So my questions are:
    1) Am I pointed in the correct direction, or do I need to be looking in a completely different place to create a connection?
    2) Is this Information Design Tool a desktop application? (if so, where should it have been installed?) or a webapp? (if so, what is the url?)
    3) Is this tool not included with the trial version of the software? (if so, is there a way to connect to a database with the trial version?)
Any help at all would be most appreciated.  Thanks.

    Hi
Could you please let me know if you have created that odbc connection for crystal report  in 32bit ODBC driver or 64 bit ODBC driver
If your using 64bit odbc driver for that crystal report, then please change the ODBC driver connection to 32 bit ODBC driver and test the issue

  • Can't Create the ODBC connection for Oracle 10g

    Hi,
I am working with Oracle 10g Database Release 2 in windows XP professional. I am trying to create an ODBC connection for oracle but become failure because its generating the following errors:
    system error code 998
could not locate the setup or translator library
Please help me how can I solve this problem and create the ODBC connection for oracle 10g database.
    Best Regards,

    mwz wrote:

could not locate the setup or translator libraryThe symptom described is typical of an incorrect system env PATH setting (used by the data source admin tool), compared to that of the Oracle Home (specifically, path $OH/bin). The odbc driver config routine will search directories listed in PATH variable for necessary libraries (Client dll's). If some library fails to load (from e.g. oraoci*.dll or oraclient10.dll) it will probably error out, as in your case.
Are you creating the odbc dsn on the databse server host or on some other machine? I.e. are you using the db host as a client or not?

By any chance is the Planning application user from an external authentication provider, that is MSAD or LDAP? If it is, there is a problem in Planning when a user changes its DN (Distinguished Name) if that is the Identity Attribute you are using for you external provider. There are something you can do to fix this, such as running the UpdateUsers.cmd in the /Hyperion/HyperionPlanning/Utils folder, this utility will find your existing planning users and see if they have undergone any changes, and update them with the correct DN. Just be careful using this utility, because if a user has been disabled or deleted from you external authentication provider, it will also be removed from you Planning application.
One thing you can do is go in the HSP_USERS table of you planning application and check the SID value you user app owner has. Check its value with your MSAD or LDAP administrator to validate if the value is correct or not. If incorrect you wont be able to login to you planning app until this is fixed, either by running the updateusers.cmd or by editing the SID value directly on the table.
Workspace doesn't present this problem with external authentication providers, it automatically detects the new DN or identity attribute of you user each time you login it.

  • Can't create new synchronization connection.

When i'm trying to add new synchronization connection i get error "Access to the requested resource(s) is denied"
I'm trying to create connection using farm account, both FIM services and UPS services are running.
    ProfileSynchronizationSetupJob is completed.
    Any ideas?

    Hi Justin,
According to your description, my understanding is that you got an error when you created a new synchronization connection in SharePoint 2013.
Did you provide the Service Account "Create all child objects" permissions in Active Directory? Please check as the followings, and compare the result:
Open the Active Directory Users and Computers snap-in
On the View menu, click Advanced Features.
Right-click the domain object, such as "company.com", and then click Properties.
On the Security tab, if the desired user account is not listed, click Add; if the desired user account is listed, proceed to step 7.
In the Select Users, Computers, or Groups dialog box, select the desired user account, and then click Add.
Click OK to return to the Properties dialog box.
    Click the desired user account.
Make sure the ‘Create all child objects’ is selected in the permissions list.
Click Apply, and then click OK.
    Close the snap-in.
In addition, this error happens when you create a new connection using an existing name.
Here is a similar post for you to take a look at:
    http://www.normanbauer.com/2012/01/13/creating-profile-synchronization-connections-in-sharepoint-2010-fails-with-error/
    I hope this helps.

  • In Excel 2013, can you create a powerview connected to a SQL server and then upload this to Sharepoint to 2013?

Creating a powerview in sharepoint browser can be tedious, but it is a lot more convenient in the desktop Excel 2013.
However, when you upload the excel document (where data source is SQL server) to sharepoint, there are two problems:
    1. The powerview is shown as a worksheet in the excel file in sharepoint
    2. You dont get the same features as a powerview - most importantly Export to PowerPoint.
Has anyone come across this?  Does this mean if you want to create powerview which are to be shown in full screen and also to be exported to powerpoint must always be directly created in Sharepoint browser?

    Hi,
There is no method to get around this. According
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-in/excel-help/power-view-explore-visualize-and-present-your-data-HA102835634.aspx,
Both versions of Power View need Silverlight installed on the machine.
You can’t open a Power View RDLX file in Excel, or open an Excel XLSX file with Power View sheets in Power View in SharePoint. You also can’t copy charts or other visualizations from the RDLX file into the Excel workbook.
You can save Excel XLSX files with Power View sheets to SharePoint Server, either on premises or in Office 365, and open those files in SharePoint. Read more about
Power View in Excel in SharePoint Server 2013 or in SharePoint Online in Office 365.
In addition, you can try to submit the suggestions from the following link:
    http://connect.microsoft.com/
It is a public place where we can post our feedback. :-)
    Thanks.

  • How can I create a data connection without ODBC (directly with OLE DB)

If connecting to an OLE DB data source, which is not defined as ODBC, the well known error message appears in Acrobat, that the environment is not trusted. The Designer Help says, that the document must be certified in Acrobat to run OLE DB without ODBC. So I certified the document in Acrobat allowing dynamic content for it. But the error message always appears. So I have some questions to this:
How is the correct certification process in Acrobat to define a trusted environment for using OLE DB without ODBC?
Why generates using of ODBC an trusted environment? With using ODBC data sources can be changed external from Acrobat, so I must think, ODBC is absolutely insecure.
Why is OLE DB without ODBC insecure? Here I have a defined connection string, which cannot be changed at runtime (if the form developer this doesn't want).
And why is the first record displayed instead of the error message, if using OLE DB without ODBC, but navigation is impossible?
This seems all very mysterious to me.
Does anyone in the world has ever created an OLE DB data connection (without ODBC) with Designer and Acrobat, which runs in a trusted environment?
    Thanks for your answers.
    Michael

For the Projects, the trick will be the Asset files. If they will fit onto DVD DL discs, you're OK. If they are too large (DV-AVI is ~ 13GB per hour), then you'll need some type of backup, or spanning software, that will write files across multiple discs. A better choice, IMO, would be a 1 - 2 TB external, where you can use Project Manager, or just Windows Explorer and Copy, to do the entire Project folder with Assets. I'd recommend against a USB and go at least for FW-400. FW-800 would be better, but you'll need FW-800 connections on your computer. eSATA would be the best, but then you'll need eSATA connectors.
    Good luck,

  • Can't create new DB Connections

I am currently running version 2.1.1.64 of SQL Developer.
I currently have 4 DB connection that work fine.
I haven't used it in about 8 weeks, and yesterday I needed to make a New connection. It would not do ANYTHING
when I select the NEW Connection icon (big green plus sign) ...Nothing
If I right click on the Connecitons Panel DB Icon and select New Connection... Nothing
If I select the 'Create a new' icon and select Database connection... Nothing.
has this happend to anyone else...and does anyone have a solution.
    Thanks

Do you use window vista or windows7?
Have you checked disable user control option?
There's an error message, try to find it %sqldeveloper home directory%.

  • Can't create Network Stream connections between Win and RT

In the attached example, why can't I get all four links to connect without errors? Here's a representative example of the result I'm getting:
    Attachments:
    network_stream_test.zip ‏18 KB

    Hi Bob -
Yes, one pair of the streams failed to connect. That's what I'm asking about. The timeout is more than enough for them to connect if they will, as evidenced by the pair that did successfully make a connection. (I've also used Network Streams in a couple of applications already, and even across subnets they normally connect within 1 second, so a 10 second timeout isn't an issue here.)
Yep, I'm aware of the Context Name. But as the Network Streams whitepaper says, and as you reiterated, the default context is assumed when it's ommitted from the URL. That's why one pair of the stream was able to connect in my screenshot. And I'm running my example  in the dev environment anyway, so contexts shouldn't be necessary in the URL at all.
If you like, you can grab the example I attached and run it yourself to help me investigate. Do all the endpoints connect successfully on your Win/RT setup?
On a side note, can anyone tell me how to query the current VI's context? I'm certain there's a Server or Scripting node somewhere that does it, but I can't find it at the moment...

  • CS5 Trial - can i create a public site

I am a web site designer. I currently still use CS3 - I am just on the cusp of upgrading to CS5 - however I am as of tonight taking the trial CS5 for a run. If I create a new site for a client - and my trial runs out after the new site is launched - and I havent made the financial commitment to purchase the CS5. Will the new site be effected? Will it function properly? Will files remain intact?
Probably silly questions but I would rather know now than not.

Everything will be fine. But you should note that CS5.5 is now available.
If you are planning on upgrading you should do it NOW. You can still buy the CS5 upgrade from Amazon: http://amzn.to/mti7ZX for $749. The upgrade to CS5.5 is about $180 more. Buying CS5 will allow you to get a free upgrade to CS5.5: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/153/tn_15304.html

  • Can you create an ODBC connection with a VI ?

One VI came up when I searched example code; however, it had problem with loading a VI (see attached) and seemed limited. I wanted to be able to create an ODBC for connecting a SQL Server database that is hosted on the network.

Your error message states that your VI has no block diagram, so it could not convert to LV 7. It must have been saved with the option to not include the block diagram.
To answer your question about ODBC, I believe you need the Database Connectivity Toolset, comes with Enterprise Toolset or Toolkit, to make database connections and SQL queries. It works well and is worth the extra money. Visit NI website to learn more about this toolset.
