Can't create path definition point?

I'm doing a vector world map drawing and I keep running into this problem. All I am turning to do is connect two end points and I keep getting this window reading "Can't create path definition point, can't add anchor point." I'm exhausted but I'm I missing something simple here? All help is much appreicated!

If you just want to close a path, you may select it normally and Ctrl/Cmd+J to join the hitherto endpoints.
If you have two different paths, you may select the end points (by clicking on them with the Direct Selection Tool, also to avoid selecting possible ghost points) andCtrl/Cmd+J to join the paths.

how can i create a NULL-pointer (like in C) to call a DLL-function in Labview 8?
I have this function:

and have to call it like this:

When running the vi i get a popup with this message:
Labview: An exception occured within the external code called by a Call Library Function Node.
This might have corrupted Labview´s memory. Save any work to a new location and restart Labview.
VI "......." was stopped at Call Library Function Node Call Library FuncName 0x13E0 of subVI.

Thx for your help. Meanwhile it works. It was a stupid, easy thing i didnt see all the time.
I had to change the first parameter as--> Pass: "Pointer to value" instead of "Value". Thats all.
All NULL-values are passed as Int32-value.
One new problem occurs now: After runnning the function Labview crashes down.
Error-report is attached if someone can read someting in this.
When running the dll-function in a c-program it works
When calling the dll-function it in teststand it also works.

Can I create a generic Point to Row Column function?

I have a VI with multiple MultiColumn Listboxes in it. One way I've seen to make the entries writeable is as follows:
This works fine. The only issue is that to get the 'Point to Row Column' (PtRC) method requires (as I understand it) right-clicking on the MCL and selecting that method.
I have multiple MCLs, and I wanted to create an event structure that was generic and could process any of them the same way. But the problem with that is that I don't know a way to get access to the PtRC method for each one. The only way I know to do it would be to use VI Scripting to create the reference on the fly (not sure if that would even work), but even if that works for me, I don't think it will work with the free LV RunTime Engine (my experience is that you can't use the RTE to execute any VIs that utilize VI Scripting).
So my question is, is there a way to get a reference to the PtRC method - generically - without using VI Scripting, and/or is there a different way to do what I'm trying to do here (i.e. make the MCL writeable by the user and have it retain the values the user writes to it during VI execution).

Not generic enough for you (not sure why it wouldn't be) here we can have code that finds the Multicolumn Listboxes and registers for all of them.
Edit: As I feared the snippet isn't exactly what I made. The "This VI" control on the left should be the "This VI" constant.

you wont see this sicf path,
just run the following ulr

make sure that the ICAMN is running (transaction SMICM).
also make sure dependant services are active in transaction SICF

Can I create a wi-fi network on my macbook and still connect to the internet via an actual wifi point?

Hi,
I got TrakProDJ from the app store and installed it.
It allows me to control a DJing software with my iPad by setting up a network via Wifi Symbol in Toolbar>Create Network...
The problem with this is the network I create isn't based in the internet--it's just a wifi link between my laptop and iPad.
I'm sure I'll get asked to play songs I'll have to look up on youtube, so how is it possible that I can maintain my wifi network connection on my macbook and create an access point for my iPad to use to communicate with my laptop (to control the DJing software)?
I'll really appreciate any help I can get!

You cannot use both an ad-hoc network and a normal ap based one with any wireless device. Your only solution is to use a wired Internet connection to do so on the laptop, that way you use that for Internet access and your wifi for the ad-hoc network the app requires. You might want to contact the developer of that app and find out why they limit the setup to just an ad-hoc wifi setup. Seems that if all it requires is just a network connection to the laptop, they could simply use any existing network connection as long as both devices can see each other on it. Either that or also give the user the option to use Bluetooth for it if they have the higher version of hardware to support the necessary data exchange.

Can I create an automatic custom file save name/path once I click digital signature field?

What I'm trying to do is once I click on a digital signature and I add my digital signature it requires me to sign it. I want to know if there's a workaround to where once I click it it will automatically save to a file name based on a field and to a pre-determined directory? Say, if I want it to save to a users desktop. My supervisor is wanting to eliminate his employees having to change the file name to the format he wants and selecting the save location and make it automatic for everyone to have it saved at the same location on their computers.
Will likely have everyone in the office create a folder named 'Leave Requests'. This will be the location on the desktop where all these automatically saved files would go. The custom file name would be Emp_Name + "Leave Request" + Date where Emp_Name and Date are 2 variables that are user inputted field values on the form. I have looked around but there doesn't seem to be too much on this one. I do realize I can't create a custom 'Save As' location and path name but I have read a little about creating a custom automatic save feature and wanted to know if I could implement that. Can't manipulate single anchor point - only move entire path

Neither using the direct selection tool nor holding command (I'm on OS X) while using the pen tool will allow me to move individual achor points, I am only able to move the entire path.
I can add and delete anchor points, but I am only able to control the handles on newly formed anchors, holding the space bar does not allow me to move new points either.
Is there a setting somehwere that I'm missing that will allow direct selection to work properly?

Turned on Smart Guides (cmd-U) and that seems to have taken care of it.

Have you run all the office updates? We have to assume this is a proper copy of Office 11 of course and not one 'from Hxxx-Kxxx'. I would also consider re-installing Yosemite-something is screwy on your installation of something if its picking up China..unless of course it is true that the Chinese have been hacking into iTunes and are secretly trying to make you into an agent of the state..you will speak Mandarin..you will speak Mandarin

Can you create more region display points??

There are a number of region display ponts ie Page Template Region Position 1, Page Template Region Position 2.........> Page Template Region Position 8. Is it possible to create another ie Page Template Region Position 9 which is directly below 8??? If so.. how?? I am building a application and am using alot of conditional displays and i have run out of regions!

No you can not create more region display points.
But each display point can have N number of regions in it and conditions are at a region level not a region display point level.

Fw Pen Tool Bugged - Can't Create Points w/ a click

So I don't use Fireworks much, but am trying to start. Am I wrong in thinking that just CLICKING somewhere on the canvas with the Pen Tool should add a point? Because it's not happening for me. The only way it adds a point is if I click and drag - which always creates a curve with handles. In Photoshop and Illustrator just clicking on the canvas creates a point that you can continue. What could be the problem?
I've tried restarting my Mac, trashing Fireworks' preferences, fiddling with the mouse/touchpad click settings, ... nothing seems to work. And I know it can't be the Mac itself because this function works in AI/PS. Do I have something accidentally enabled that doesn't allow you to create a bloody point? I can't even believe I have to post on here for such a simple task.
Any help would be appreciated...

Re-installing Fireworks seems to have done the trick.
Just posting this solution for the rare few that may ever have this problem... I have no idea what was wrong, though. I actually couldn't click ANYTHING - the zoom tool didn't work either unless I clicked and dragged.
Scratch all that, re-installing had no effect whatsoever.
The problem is with a program I have running, SweetFM that plays music from Last.fm. There seems to be some sort of conflict between it and Fireworks! So yeah... don't run SweetFM while using Fireworks, I guess.

Are you talking about shape layers or mask shape? If you're just making masks, use the rectangle tool or another shape tool to draw the mask and then click shape next to mask path to open the mask shape window. Then put in your exact pixel values:

How can I create User Entered Additional Data Points in Credit Management?

I currently have a requirement to create additional data points in Credit Management (11i) that require a data analyst to input the value so that the score can be calculated.
For example: Does customer have a Qualified Audit Report?
If YES = +10 points added to score
If NO = 0 points added to score
I was able to add an additional data point and the case folder was assigned to an analyst, however when opening the case folder to input the missing data, the additional datapoint was not included in the case folder. Does anyone know what I may have missed in the setup?
Data Point was defined as follows and added to a checklist called TEST.
Data point: Unqualified
Category: (none)
Parent: (none)
Application: Receivables
Scoreable: Y
Enabled: Y
PL/SQL Package: (none)

The setup described above was correct. The datapoints did not show up in the case folder until the next day. I am assuming that maybe the changes required a bounce or a background process of some sort.

On my previous Mac (long, sad story) I had Office for Mac and liked it a lot. I was collaberating on some fairly complex legal documents, and never noticed any compatibility problems with Windows Office. That said, it is expensive. For most documents, I simply open the Word document in Pages and export it to Word when I am finished. I sometimes get the message that there is a missing font, but the computer uses a substitute that is quite acceptable. I have never had someone say that they had difficulty with a document I exported to Word.
Numbers and Excel aren't as compatible in my experience, and I have gotten some surprises when I hadn't tweaked the settings properly when exporting to Excel.
The other component of iWork is Keynote, and I like it much better than Powerpoint; to me it is just easier to use. I have never tried converting back and forth between Keynote and Powerpoint.
Depending on what grade your kids are in and what they are doing, I think I would start off with iWork and see what, if any, problems they encounter. Of course, if they are going to use the computer for a class in Office or its components, your kids are going to need a Windows machine with Windows Office, because Office for Mac is enough different that when the teacher says, "Now, move your mouse here and click on....", your kids are going to be lost.

Can't create restore point

I think I may off caused a problem if I ever have to recover my laptop which is a Satillite Pro L450D through changing settings in the system protection area in windows 7.
I was looking to create a restore point before I upgraded Windows 7 with service pack 1 and while in the create and restore area noticed that 3 drives were available to have system protection turned on but only 1 actually had system protection enabled? OS Install (C) did not have system protection enabled, and I think the recovery partition, WinRE (D) which was enabled to have system protection was the System disk, I am not 100% certain but sure the 3rd entry was my DVD drive, anyways what I did was I clicked to enable protection for the OS Install (C) drive and an error appeared stating that this was not possible, I clicked ok and when this error went off screen noticed that the drive was now enabled for system protection, but it was now also the system disk? and the 3rd drive seemed to of disappeared from the area where the drives available appear? I am a t a loss as to what has happened but feel the worst case scenario is that if I ever want to recover my system through the recovery options I may not be able to through changing system settings, any help on this matter will be appreciated, I did create the recovery disk when I first purchased the laptop before I did anything else so with a bit of luck I am hoping that this will be my get out of trouble card if I need to use or recover the system this way.

I had wanted to create a restore point in case of any errors after installing service pack one, my problem occured when I was attempting to make a restore point while in system protection, because system protection was not in operation on my C drive, the system would not allow me to create a restore point unless changing the settings, which I attempted to do...an error appeared and after reading recovery errors in this forum relised that because my recovery software was installed on drive D a system restore point was not really needed in case of any errors...but I had already changed the settings meaning that both the C drive and the D drive now have protection in place, which is different to how my laptop was setup with factory defaults,
I am hoping that because of this change that I have not corrupted any of the files needed to do a full format and HDD recovery if ever needed, I did create a toshiba recovery disc when I first purchased my laptop so hope that the files on this disc will be enough to perform the tasks needed.

Can I Create A Symbolic Link to folders stored on an SMB Share folder?

I am very new to Unix and was hoping that someone could point me in the right direction with regards to Symbolic links and an SMB share folder ....
Have purchased an ext. LAN Drive enclosure (http://www.macpower.com.tw/products/hdd3/pleiades/pd_usblan) which connects to my wireless router via ethernet like my G5 (main Mac) - our iBook connects via Airport. I have copied all my general documents/files to the SMB share folder on the ext. drive so that I can access them from the G5 and also the iBook.
However I'd also like to be able to store my actual Mail folder (/Users/Mark/Library/Mail/), , Safari folder (/Users/Mark/Library/Safari) + my Address Book and other folders sitting in the Application Support folder on my SMB share so all important docs/folders are in the one place. I've tried storing these folders on the SMB share and putting an Alias to these back in Users/Mark/Library/Mail etc but of course an Alias doesn't work.
Question 1: Can I create a symbolic link to these files if these are stored on an SMB share folder? If so, could you please tell me exactly what I'd need to type into Terminal? My SMB Share path is smb://STORAGE-XXXX/MARK
I have copied my iPhoto library and iTunes library to the SMB share and are working fine.
Question 2: Is it possible/worth attempting to move my whole home folder to the SMB share folder? Ideally, I'd like to be able to access my Mail from the iBook as well. If I could log into either the G5 or the iBook and access my latest Mail, Address Book and other Application Settings, that would be perfect. Would this be possible?

Yes you can. The command to create a link will look something like this:
$ ln -s thisFolder /Users/mark/thatFolder
I did this while I was hosting a microsoft based game. This put all of the players into a common directory.
SMB just resolved the link and everything worked fine.
However, as I understand it, some other applications do NOT work very well with links. As I have NOT tried it with other applications, I fear I can be of NO help to you in this matter.
The only way to find out which applications work with links is to try them and see what happens.
