Can't increase memory

Hi!!!
I can't increase de memory in the properties of the JRE control panel...
If I set the -Xmx parameter to 512 it works fine, but if I increase it to 1024 it crashes... I can�t open the window in which the applet is running, when I try to do that the page closes...
My OS is Windows 2000 and the RAM memory is 3GB

The JVM needs a contiguous range of virtual addresses at least
as large as the -Xmx value for the java heap Usually a 1G range
is possible on most windows boxes. However, there have been some
recent updates from Microsoft that caused some DLLs to be loaded
at 'inconvenient' addresses, reducing the virtual address space
available for the java heap. See the thread "JVM issues after applying
August Microsoft secuirty patch MS06-040":

That thread talks about windows 2003, so may not strictly apply to
you. However, at the very least, make sure you have isntalled all the
available updates from Microsoft.
If you still have a problem, try a -Xmx value smaller than 1024m,
say something like -Xmx768m.

Can't increase memory allocation

For a previous question it was recommended that I allocate more memory to an application. However, when I attempt to do that with Get Info, I only get the options of "General Information" or "Sharing". "Memory" is never listed. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

Under General Information, check what the file's kind is listed as; if it is 'application program package', control-click it and choose Show Package Contents. Open the folder Contents and then MacOSClassic, or MacOS if there isn't a MacOSClassic folder. Inside this folder, locate the application and increase the memory allocation.

It worked since years without any problem
But now I have following problem - if the amount of files is
big enough,
director is out of memory, can not create any new member more
I do it like this

At some moment command
mem = new(#image, myCast)
fails, it can happen on 500-th file in the list, or an 570-th

other point. So the problem is not in some definite file, but
in memory. How
can I avoid this problem? Can I purge the memory, used by the
program till
that moment or is there any other way do to it?

Look up save castlib. put this in your loop and and maybe try
i mod 10 so it
only saves every 10 times. This should pull the images from
ram to disk, and
sort of purge the memory for you.

You can check the Virtual Memory settings here: Control Panel > System > Advanced > Performance > Settings (Advanced tab) 
Windows can manage more memory then is physical available and that memory is stored in a page file on your hard drive. 
If the size of that file is not large enough and all available memory is in use then you get the Virtual Memory is low warning. 
Make sure that you have at least 1 GB or the recommended setting for the Virtual Memory. 
If you have less than 1 GB physical memory installed on your computer then if possible add more memory.

I have tested my Adf Faces application with jmx in server and, in my machine, jconsole and mc4j.

In this documentation, first access, the cache miss, but the following times the cache could hit. . When my server gain cpu and memory I look that the following times the cache always miss in all pages. Subsequently tomcat no reply and the malicious thread, execute Armageddon trace. Can I increase the capacity of Time Machine with an external hard drive connected to Time Capsule?

Can I increase the capacity of Time Machine with an external hard drive connected to Time Capsule via the USB port? My current Time Machine has a total capacity of 1TB. I'd like to double or triple its memory. I don't want to use the external hard drive in lieu of the Time Capsule hard drive. I'd like to use it in addition to. Just don't know if/how it's possible.
This is another one of those questions that I've searched the web for answers, and have gotten tricky answers back. So now I'm trying to introduce a clean slate to the mix.

Well, what you mentioning is possible. However, I don't know whether it's supported (as in, "easy to set up."). Time Machine officially supports backing up to a locally attached drive, to a machine running a Time Machine server (i.e. running OS X Server software), and to a Time Capsule. I don't know that it officially supports a drive attached to an AirPort or to a Time Capsule. Though I know some people have gotten it to work.
Best I can say is to try it. Plug the drive into the Time Capsule, ensure it's shared on the network, and then try and set it as a backup target from a machine in the Time Machine backup panel (you'll need to ensure it's mounted first). If it works, you're all set.

iTunes Match does not use your iCloud account. Your annual Match subscribtion pays for separate storage to host your iTunes library. As far as I know, you can't increase the 25,000 song limit.
If you recently purchased the storage upgrade for this purpose, in the U.S. you could call 1-800-MYAPPLE for a refund if you don't need it.

I purchased it from apple premium reseller in neighbouring city, they didn't tell me there is a 8 gb model also otherwise i could purchase it. so does these apple store provide changing something in my model as the ram is solded out ? i cant purchase a new mac so early coz my book hasent completed a year !
my problem is that, OS X Mountain Lion takes 2 gb memory.
If i run safari, i watch youtube, load multiple tabs about 5-6 ( facebook twitter youtube yahooanswers google-ing ) at same time ( one by one but i keep it open ) this takes atleast 700 mb ram
and mail runs at startup and i need it it takes 100 - 150 mb ram
some ram goes in active-inactive-wired i mean if i dont know but some background processes may be in it ..
and if i load iphoto or transfer files from HD to Ex-HD, i feel it is getting slower.
if i just open photoshop. a message comes to quit some apps. ***,
i never keep lot processing like video converting or dont use final cut pro like apps.
i dont have problem with processor, its 1.7 dual core i5. i feel its fast enough for my work.
but i need upgrade from 4gb to 8 gb. please give some advice

In the package explorer view or navigator view right click on the build file select "Run as / Ant Build ...". On the JRE Tab you can enter the VM Aguments like -Xmx512m
Consult the java dokumentation how to set the memory of the jvm.
