Can't open Settings
I click on settings and it does not OPEN what can I do?
Thanks
What 'Settings'?
Do you mean the preferences? or the Inspectors?
Has it always done this or have you changed or updated something?
You have to tell us more than this for us to work it out.

My mini Ipad says: I haven't backed it up to iCloud for 2 weeks. Back ups happen when this ipad is plugged in, locks, and connected to wifi.
The ok button doesn't work, I can't open settings to make sure wifi is connected. Nothing works!!! I have it pluggled into my computer but apparently it isn't backing up since nothing has changed. it is unuseable!Reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
Note: Data will not be affected. -

My iPhone 4s 5.01 loses wifi and won't shut down and can't open settings.
This is crazy. iPhone 4S running 5.01.
Twice now I've lost Wifi and cold not connect. When going to open settings to check status it won't open. The screen just crashes back to the springboard.
Then trying to force a shutdown I can't. The sleep button you usually hold for 4 seconds does not do anything so I have to hold sleep and home down to force a hard reset.
Has anyone else had this happen?
I've not performed a hard reset this time but I can't leave it like this for long. Does anyone need me to do anything before I do hard reset it?
FredI'm having this problem too. Exactly the same problem.
Mine is a new phone which I restored some settings to from my old 3g.
The problem has happened a dozen times and is getting more and more frequent.
What is really weird is that if you call the phone you can hear it rining on the call but NOTHING on the phone.
Getting completely hacked off with this.

After updating my MacBook Pro to yeosemite I want my old desktop picture back. I did a full back up before the install. I found the "Settings" folder in Time machine but when I try to open it I get an error message saying "You can not open this folder. It is in TimeMachine".
Can you browse the Time Machine drive from Finder?
If you can and you know where the picture was stored ie on your desktop you can browse through the folder structure to the picture copy it and paste it somewhere on your new install before right clicking it and 'set as desktop background' -
Can't open Email Settings after firmware updated a...
Hi,
I've upgrated my E71 with new 3.00 firmware yesterday and then restored phone memory from saved backup (yes, restoring is still a great pain for Nokia phones owners - you know, not all the software installed restores and so on, but that's another question).
Before this upgrade I had MfE and Nokia Email installed and one IMAP mailbox was set up in standard Messaging application. After restoring from backup Nokia Email was missing (backup problems I mentioned above) but I've reinstalled it successfully. MfE and Messaging mailbox also worked okay.
But today suddenly I discovered that when I try to open Settings / Email menu item at Messaging app, this app crashes silently. Strange, but when I'm accessing Email Settings menu item being at mailbox tab, I can see this mailbox settings. but when I try to enter global email settings for all mailboxes from the app main menu, application crashes.
I tried to add another mailbox using Settings Wizard - and it worked, additional mailbox appeared in Messaging app. But all the same with it - no access to global Settings / Email menu but works okay when I open Email Settings directly from mailbox tab.
The thing is that I need to remove mailboxes from Messaging App and it can be done through this unreachable global Settings / Email menu only.
Another detail - when I change storage from phone memory to memory card in Settings / Other menu, my mailboxes disappear and the Settings / Email menu becomes accessible. And when I change storage back to phone memory, my two mailboxes are back again (and functional, as before), but when I try to open Settings / Email menu app crashes.
Please advise, because I really have no idea what to do. I assume that there must be a way to remove mailboxes manually, but what is it?
Regards, Yuriy.Well, the problem gone after I deleted MfE profile (I don't need it right now). This Settings menu is accessible again. Anyway, it was very strange and I can't predict if I will face it again after I add another MfE profile.

I updated the latest version of itunes onto my pc (windows xp) and all of a sudden I can't open it up. Everytime I try to open it I get a window that says: "Data Execution Prevention - Microsoft Windows...To help protect your computer, Windows has closed this program. Change settings." I have tried to change the settings. Uninstalled & reinstalled itunes. Updated the lates version of quicktime. Nothing has helped. If there is anyone who has a suggestion I would appreciate it. I am at my wits end with this. Thank you in advance for all your suggestions.
If anyone is looking at this and would like to know what I did to finally get it to work, I did the following: I right click on the itunes icon on my desktop.......clicked on "run as"........made sure that it ran as administrator. This finally worked for me. Hope you all find this info helpful.

Hi yonamadonna,
Welcome to the Support Communities!
To address this issue, I would suggest you close all open apps, then restart and reset your iPad. Here's how:

Reset iPad settings. Go to Settings > General > Reset, then choose an option:
Reset All Settings: All your preferences and settings are reset.
Also, check the restrictions settings on your iPad mini to make sure these apps have not been turned off:

Please help me. I can't open my Ipod touch. I enable voice over settings on my Ipod Touch 5th gen. I can't disable it anymore. I off my ipod and now i can't open it. It doesn't accept my password. I can't open it anymore. Thanks!
Triple click the home button and try going to Settings>General>Accessibility and turn VoiceOver off. You may have to use three fingers to scroll the screen to get there. If problems see:

Using Firefox, I used to be able to open a document on a website, such as a bank statement, and view it without downloading. Now, I must download and save a document before I can view it. How can I change settings so that I can open documents without saving them first?
Do you know what kind of docs they are? Did you upgrade/Update Firefox lately?

when I open the settings and messages of the iPhone 4s I get stuck in a white screen, what should I do? the keyboard to open there is minute, I can not open the settings in any way.
Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps from the tray BEFORE doing the reset.

Can't open up icloud in settings on ipad?
I used to be able to open up iclouds on my ipad, now it is a light grey and am unable to. At the same time my contacts are missing and i can't open up accounts which is in settings - mail - accounts?
I have the 'new ipad 3'.If you have restrictions enabled it can prevent access to your Icloud and account settings, in settings>restrictions>allow changes you will need to untick this option , this will allow access to and changes to be made to your icloud and accounts, when you have done this you can simply apply the restriction again if you want to, this is a security measure to prevent changes being made without your consent .

I can't open the iTunes store and keep getting this error message. "Registry settings used by the iT drivers for importing & burning CDs & DVDs are missing. Reinstall iTunes." I've reinstalled iT a half dozen times with no results.
You might have two different things going on at once here.
Starting with the registry settings message.
I'd start with the following document, with one modification. At step 12 after typing GEARAspiWDM press the Enter/Return key once prior to clicking OK. (Pressing Return adds a carriage return in the field and is important.)
iTunes for Windows: "Registry settings" warning when opening iTunes -
I have the error message "Not enough storage. Cannot backup, not enough backup space in ICloud . . . ", but now the "close" and "settings" buttons don't respond and I cant get the IPad to open so I can go change settings. What do I do?
For a "hard" restart of your iPad just press the home and power button at the same time and hold it for at least 10-15 sec. until it restarts.

Settings icon just jiggles. Can't open it.
When I attempt to open the settings icon so that I can turn off bluetooth, the icon just jiggles and I am unable to open settings. What can I do to solve this problem?
This is for the 6th gen nano
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4320
It says that if you touch and hold on an icon, they all start to jiggle, meaning you can move them around on the screen, or to the other screen. Once they are set as desired, "press the Sleep/Wake button to save."
I couldn't find the equivalent document for the 7th gen, but it is probably the same.
