Can't set fragment color manually

Hi,
I am running into a weird issue. My fragment shader looks like this:
void evaluateFragment()
fragmentColor = interpolatedColor;
As basic as can be. "interpolatedColor", in my case, are just the vertex colors. I get a nice color gradient on my quad. So far, so good.
BUT, if I try to do this, for testing purposes, I get black:
void evaluateFragment()
fragmentColor = float4( 1.0, 0.0, 0.0, 1.0 ); // also tried this, just in case color are 255-based: float4( 255.0, 0.0, 0.0, 1.0 ); --> still black.
I should get red, but I get black. Also, I am using the latest pb3dlib.swc ( from PixelBender3D Preview 3 ).
Any ideas?

It is probably more likely that your imported pictures are just covering the background of the button.
A picture ring is the better way to go anyways.

Can I set the Fan manually..?

I use BOINC and because of that my Thinkpad T410 crashes quite often!
(Although I let BOINC only use one core!) Can I somehow set the fan manually to the maximum and set it back to normal when I stop BOINC?

Just a suggestion ... since you leave the BOINC on when the laptop is idle, do elevate the laptop since the software is constantly running the proc up. By elevating the laptop you enable more air to get "pulled" into the base of the laptop thus better ventilation = cooler and happier laptop when you volunteer.

Can you set the color of a specific element in a JList?

Is it possible to set the color of a single element in a JList without writing lines and lines of your own class? I know setForgroundColor exists, it just changes all element in a JList, so is there a simple way to tweak it? i am still a newbie, so re-writing swing, would be a bit of a problem for me. Any Suggestions? thanks.

you write your own renderer, about 6-8 lines, setting the color determined by an
if/else statement - note: you must set the color in both if and else
search the forums for
"implements ListCellRenderer"
and you should find plenty of examples
if you just want the selected element a different color, you can do this with
UIManager.put("List.selectionBackground", new javax.swing.plaf.ColorUIResource(Color.YELLOW));
but you must do this before you create the JList, and it will affect all JLists in your program.

[SOLVED]Can't set background color for Knotes

Today I'm testing KDE 4.9.5 and the app Knotes start well, can add new notes, save them, etc, but it is not changing the background color of the notes...

EDIT:
It was my mistake, the truth is that this application can change the background color, but does so in a cumbersome way.
Each note can change the background color (individually) and to make it globally, you must remove all existing notes and the new notes then take the chosen color :S ...anyway.... issue solved

How can I set the color for a textfield

You can only do it if a particular app allows that. The Maps app does not.

Can't set background color of boolean

I'm trying my hand at a custom control. It's a simple boolean 'arrow' indicator. I started by placing a classic "flat square button", then imported the 'false' and 'true' versions of the arrow, which correspond to red and green.
However, I want a 3rd state (off). To accomplish this, I tried to use a property node, but it doesn't seem to work. I created a simple VI to test with, I've pasted the image below...I know the event structure is being executed, because I tested that by changing the boolean text inside the event structure. To prove it can be done, I set every value of the array to blue, just to make sure I wasn't missing something about the true/false/t->f/f->t arrangement of the array.
But all to no avail...I can click on the control and it changes from red to green, like I originally defined in the control. Why can't I programatically change the color? thanks in advance

Can I set default colors for generated shapes in Premiere Pro CC?

I'm working on some highlight video where I need to generate an ellipse on each clip to highlight a player. I'd like to use a yellow/yellow, 20% softness, 8 thickness ellipse each time, but by default PP gives me an ugly green/blue combination, and I have to change the inside/outside colors, softness and thickness each time I add a clip and generate an ellipse.
Is there a way to set a default inner/outer color, thickness, and softness setting for each new generated shape so that I don't have to keep repeating these steps?

If you are using the Title Designer to generate your ellipse, and if I understand what you want, the answer is yes.
Unless I am completely off-base, your default font style below the title has the colors of that ugly green/blue combo.
You can easily just set the ellipse the exact way you want it, and then go into the Font Styles menu and create a new font style. Give it a unique name like "Ellipse" and then drag that new style from the end up to the beginning of the list. (Upper left hand corner).
I created an ellipse using a greenish yellow, rather unattractive color for both the shape and the stroke. I used a higher opacity because it shows up better in the screen shot, but I could have set it for 20% easily enough. I then went to the styles menu, created a new style, gave it a name, then went to the last style and dragged it up to the top left where you see it now. You have to look close.
It is not particularly obvious that the shapes are based on the font style just as much as the text is.

Can i set iPHOTO to manually sync?

Is there any way to set my sync options so that the phone doesn't automatically open iPhoto and sync it? I rarely have photos that need syncing -- so I'd rather do it manually.

Wow, this did not work for me. Every time I plug my phone in iPhoto will start. At this point I have turned off all syncing options I can find in iTunes. So, the phone is not syncing information. Still, relentlessly, iPhoto jumps to life when the phone is pluged in.
I have tried turning the iPhoto sync on. Syncing. Then turning the sync back off. And I still get iPhoto at plugin.
At this point I just hate iPhoto. Can I just delete the app? Maybe the Safari pop up blocker can be of help here..

How can I set button colors from xml file data?

I am reading an xml file to create a group of buttons. I am
also using repeater to create the group of buttons.
I am getting the buttons created, but am unable to set the
fill color properly. I keep getting the error "Implicit coercion of
a value of type String to an unrelated type Array" if I try to plug
in r.currentItem.value, even when I used an Actionscript function
to convert from a String to an array of 2 uints. Is there a simple
type casting solution to this I'm just not getting?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If I send an array of 2 uints via a function call that

Can't set up email manually for Suddenlink account on iPhone 3G

I've been trying to set up my new iPhone 3G to access a Suddenlink
email account with no luck. I keep getting a message that it can't
find the server. It is an easy set up and shouldn't be that difficult.
I set it up the same way I set up the email client on my computer
for a POP account. Has anyone done this for a Suddenlink account?

I finally got incoming AND outgoing email to work. To the instructions below from tylermacman
you have to add TURN OFF PRIMARY OUTGOING SMTP SERVER AND TURN ON AT&T SMTP Server.
SO- SETTINGS>Mail,Contacts>Acct>scroll down to SMTP click>Turn Off Primary>Scroll down to Other SMTP Servers AT&T>Click on AT&T>Turn On.
I don't own an iPhone, so I had to borrow one from a co-worker. Please follow these steps:
1. From your iPhone desktop, go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars
2. Select your Suddenlink email account and remove it by scrolling down and tapping the Delete Account button.
3. Tap Add Account and select Other.
4. Enter the appropriate answer for each box, as follows:
Name - Your name
Address - Your Suddenlink email address
Password - Your Suddenlink Password
Description - This is the nickname for the account (for example, Home)
5. Tap Save to continue.
6. On the next screen, tap POP.
7. Scroll down to Incoming Mail Server and enter the following:
Host name - pop.suddenlink.net

Why can't I set label color? I have write permission.

I can't set label color on a particular file, or rename the file, or duplicate the file.

I'm in an Admin account.
Get File Info shows that the file is not locked.
Get File Info shows that the file is readable and writeable by my account, by staff, and by everyone.
In Terminal, "ls -l" agrees, showing that the file is readable and writable by user, group, and other.
I have write permission to the containing folder.
Disk Utility's Repair Disk Permissions didn't change the permissions.
What else can I try?

Might try BatchMod, it's much better/easier than the Finder for recursive Permission changes, but careful, it's powerful...

Can't use maximum color values in CMYK document - what's wrong?

I can't set any colors in my document to maximum (i.e. value of 100) saturation or brightness. Is this a CMYK thing I've never noticed before?
If I do physically just move the sliders up to 100, then the color of my selected object doesn't change. When I exit the color window and re-enter it, the values have changed themselves to something in the 65-85 range.
Tried a new document and tried clearing Pshop preferences with no change. Everything works fine in an RGB doc.

CMYK can only show saturated cyans, magentas, and yellows.
It can't reproduce saturated reds, greens, or blues.
HSB values are relative to RGB.
LAB values would similarly clip in CMYK because they can be well outside the CMYK gamut.
Yes, I suspect you just missed that previously.
