Can the output of Date.toString() be parsed by a method of SimpleDateFormat

Hi,
I am working on J2SE 1.2.2.
Can the output of Date.toString() be intepreted successfully by the SimpleDateFormat.format(String) method.
An example of the output generated by Date.toString() is
"Mon Jul 02 20:53:27 GMT 1810"
I don't see a Symbol that can handle a month in the form of
"Jul" nor a symbol that can handle a day in the form of
"Mon". The closest symbols I
can see are
- M (Text & Number) July & 07
- E (Text) Monday
Can "z" be used to represent a
time zone in the form of "GMT"?
Will the above symbols work? If not are there symbols that can be used?
Thanks
Harsha

Try this form.
SimpleDateFormat formatter = new SimpleDateFormat("EEE MMM dd HH:mm:ss zzz yyyy", Locale.US);

  • Accessing the output type data in rv60afzz exit

    Hi All,
I want to access the output type data in stored in VNAST table of the program SAPLV61B from the user exit. I am doing this using field symbol. But I am not able to get it .
data :it_xnast  like vnast OCCURS 20 WITH HEADER LINE,
it_x1nast like vnast OCCURS 20 WITH HEADER LINE.
      field-symbols :
                <Fs1> type ZSDTT_VNAST,<Fs2> type ZSDTT_VNAST .
data: wa_xnast type vnast, wa_x1nast type vnast.
             assign ('(SAPLV61B)XNAST[]') TO <fs2>.
             assign ('(SAPLV61B)VNAST[]') TO <fs1>.
I have written the same code for the order user exit. There the field symbol is getting assigned with the internal table. But in case of this user exit, the sy-subrc is coming 4.
Or is there any other user exit, I can make use of this for such requirement?
    Thanks in advance,
    Rgds.

    Hi Nishant,
I think you have not understood my problem. I want to access the internal table where the output types data gets stored at run time for the particular invoice. The code I have written is working fine in the order's user exit. That means I can access the data in order. But in the case of billing , even if that program SAPLV61B is getting called before the execution of this user exit, no data is coming in the field symbol FS1 neither and not even in FS2. I want to know is there any other user exit, where I can access the run time data of the output types attached to that invoice. or is there any other program from where I can access the output type data in the same above user exit.
    Rgds,

  • Can the output of a Generate Occurrence be passed in Local/Global Variable?

Can the output of a Generate Occurrence function, which is a refnum, be passed in Local/Global Variable so that it does not need to be wired to all parties directly?
Can more than one party be waiting on the same Occurrence and will all waiting function be released together?

I am not worried about whether it is bad form or not, as yet. That is for me to decide on a case by case basis.
Yikes! That is not a very good way to learn.
Anyways, to avoid any more bold emphasis on words, I will answer your question. Locals can only be linked to controls/indicators not individual wires. If you want to get the effect of a local/global variable with a wire value, search the forum for action engines or functional globals. Those will work for passing a wire value between threads.
That said, what are you trying to use occurences for? There may be (and probably is) a more accepted way to implement what you are trying to do instead of using local variables

  • DATAEXPORT - Can the output to the file be changed

    Hi,
I have a working DATAEXPORT calc. However I was wondering if there is a way to change the output that ends up in the file? Currently it is putting the dimensions in an order that does not coincide with my fix statement. I assume Essbase just knows the optimal output order or something. I basically want to change the output order and then maybe eliminate some columns and possibly concatenate two together with a '_'. Is this possible within the calc itself?

    Sorry Sam,
Dataexport does things in the most efficient way possible so it dies not allow you to order the dimensions. It also does not let you drop columns. The two options you have are:
    1. Export to a relationsal table where you can then have a sql (dts or otherwise) reorder the columns, remove unwanted columns, concatinate columns, etc
    2. write a perl or vb or other program to post process the file to be what you want
I would have offered using the jExport cdf as an alternative since it will do what you want, but I know you are not allowed it in your environment

  • Can the output voltage during boot-up of the CFP-AIO-610 module be held to zero?

During power on or reset of the system the analog outputs go to 10V instead of 0V. Once the system is up and resonsive the default value kicks in and the level goes to 0V. Is there a way to keep the voltage near zero during a reset?

When the voltage is reading 10V, do you have any load connected, or is the output channel connected directly your multimeter/scope? If the channel is left open, that might lead it to charge to the positive rail (10V). Try putting a resistor across the output terminals and see if it still reads 10V during boot up.

  • Can the partner master data ( name, text ) be used in a Query

    Hi,
I have a requirement to have query against CRM cubes/ods, which can query data by Partner address   or text (Short description, Medium description or Long description).
For example, the cube has a characteristic 0CRM_SOLDTO ( Sold to party ) and we can always write a query which will have this field as a variable in the selection field and then query the appropriate data. But can we also query the data as per the partner name or short description or address( say zip code ? ).
If yes can you please let me know how. For example consider the following simple example cube which has a characteristics as Customers( say 1000001... and the characteristics "customer" has master and text data ( short text say "company x".
How to write a query against the cube which will take the customer text as input field and display the relevant data.
      Thanks

    Hi
I am even not aware of a standard function to do it. But one more option I can think of. But this only applicable with simple reports & with restricted kef figures.
    1. You create a dummy sold-to-party (S2)
    2. Add it to the same or different dimension as that of origional sold-to-party (S1) in the cube.
    3. Create a structe in the report for your KFs or RKFs.
    4. Create one RKF with S2 and with some key figure like "no of records". Create a variable V2 on S2 (user entry) and include this in the RKF. Hide this RKF. (So, basically you use this RKF to invoke the variable V2 to accept the Text of sold to party when the report is executed).
    5. Include the required KFs (or RKFs with S1) in the structure. Create a customer exit varaible V1 (Not ready for input) on S1. In this exit, determine the Sold to Party ID from the Text entered in V1 & the text table of sold to party.
Basically, what ever we do in update rules (as suggested earlier), now we do it in a customer exit. hope this helps.

  • Junk Characters in the output XML file after Parsing

    Hi
I am using DOM parser to parse an XML file.
After parsing the input XML file, i am fetching some contents
from the same and also putting the same contents in the parsed output file which is also an XML file.
The problem here is that the after putting the contents to the output XML file from the input XML file,
some junk character appears at the end of each and every tag in the outputfile.
The junk character is some thing like this : " ampersand hash thirteen and a semicolon "
(*THE MESSAGE DID NOT ACCEPT THE SYMBOLS KINDLY TRANSLATE THE ABOVE WORDINGS*
    INTO SYMBOLS)
This character gets appended at the end of each and every tag in the output file due to which the output file
is not recognised as an XML file.
Please let me know as to why is this character appearing and also please suggest some solution
    for the same.
    -Thanks in Advance.

Can anyone helpme in this issue

DateFormats do not change what a Date object contains or how it is displayed. They are only used to format the output when you use them with format(Date). The Date object itself is unchanged and you cannot change it.
So whereever you want to display a date in your particular format you will need to use your DateFormat.

  • Can the Curve output the ringtones and SMS notifications to headphones or to an externally connected speaker?

Ok, here's the deal. I'm a network engineer, and my company uses a monitoring system which sends SMS text messages to pre-defined corporate cellphone numbers when something requires an engineer's attention. My problem is that I'm a VERY deep sleeper (laugh if you must; I need three separate alarms to wake up in the morning), and my current phone's speaker (a Curve 8310) is simply not loud enough to wake me up. Nor is any other phone, I would imagine. Not unless it has a 30-minute ringtone.
So my question is, can the Curve, when connected to an external speaker or a pair of headphones via 3.5mm audio cable, output its ringer or its SMS notification tones through the audio jack to the speaker/headphones in addition to (or instead of) the phone's built-in speaker?

eh, you never know... I've had people thank me PROFUSELY, before, for giving them those loud tones, but of course they tried them first
Your Alarm tone can be as long as you want... Mine repeats until I touch the screen, then I have a one minute snooze. I use a loud tone also, because most would never awaken me.

  • How we can get the output in excel format for Spawned programs?

My requirement is to get the excel output for some of the programs (like -Adjustment Register, Applied Receipts Register). I am trying to achieve this by BI Publisher. But these programs has "Spawned" executable. And when I am changing the output type as"XML" I am getting below error in output-
    "XML Parsing Error: syntax error"
Can anyne suggest how we can get an XML output and then excel output for Spawned programs?
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi,
If I get it right, you want to convert RXi (Reports Exchange) reports such as Adjustment Register & Applied Receipts Register into XML Publisher. Normally, you need to change the "Output Format" of the program called by the "Spawned" program to 'XML' -- not the "Spawned" program itself.
However, I believe RXi reports does not support XML output (atleast in 11i). It could only work on Text & Html format. Check on the metalink note below:
432719.1 - RXi-Only Reports Generate XML Format Exception With No Output Setting the Output Format to XML
    Hope this helps.
