Cannot delete calendar-keeps coming back

Oh Dear,
I have this calendar that I want to be rid of. I can delete it, but within a day, it seems to sync its way back. I have told MobileMe sync to replace everything on MM with the accounts on my computer, but to no avail. I have deleted the calendar on my local computer then went online and deleted the calendar from MobileMe so as to not confuse the issue. The fact remains that no matter how many times I tell it to go, it returns.
Ideas?

First make an iCal backup, File > Export > Archive.
Remove the following to the trash and restart your computer:
Home > Library > Caches
Home > Library > Calendars > Calendar Cache, Cache, Cache 1, 2, 3, etc. (Do not remove Sync Cache or Theme Cache)
Home > Library > Preferences > com.apple.ical (There may be more than one of these. Remove them all.)
__NOTE: Removing these files will remove any shared (CalDAV) calendars you may have access to. You will have to re-add those calendars to iCal > Preferences > Accounts.
If the issue persists follow this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1627

    Reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
No data is lost due to a reset.

  • Deleted mail keeps coming back in to mail

Using mail on Imac, Laptop, ipad and iphone.
When I move a message to a folder on the imac it keeps coming back in to the mail account.  It appears to work OK on the laptop when I move a message.  All the settings appear to be the same.  Any idea what is going on?
    Thanks

An update to my previous questions.  This problem I think started after Maverick was installed.  Also if I just try to delete a message it will pop back in.  Appreciate someone telling me what is going on?
    Thanks

  • Macbook Pro - mail account. Deleted messages keep coming back!

    Hey,
I've deleted several messages (they were also in my drafts) and they keep popping back up in my sent mail and inbox, sometimes multiple copies of the same message. I want those messages gone. They keep coming back!!!! How do I fix this?

In Mail you have to move the message to gmail trash. Just deleting the message assigns it the delete label but doesn't delete it. You can truly delete the messages in web gmail, however.
    I hope this helps.

  • Why do my deleted emails keep coming back into my inbox?

I upgraded to Maverick last week and now I can't delete any of my emails.  They keep coming back into my inbox after I try to delete them.  Help!

Make sure you have option set to delete from server when read. Otherwise they will keep coming back.

  • Deleted app keeps coming back

I've deleted this app twice but keep getting updates for it. Out of habit, I click "update all" and get the stupid thing again because there's no way to stop the download at that point. I've tried getting the icons to jiggle, but the one in process has no delete option until it's loaded again.
Any way to keep it out of my updates to begin with? How do I permanently delete an app? Thanks.

I am having the same problem. I have deleted the app in iTunes and on the iPod but every time I download updates, it keeps coming back. How can I get this app (Utah State Parks Field Guide) to leave me alone.

  • Deleted emails keep coming back since the last big update on my macbook pro

Ever since the update that removed the ability to work with spaces on my mac, I have had issues with deleted emails coming back, even after deleting more than once.  Very frustrating.
Side note:  I preferred using the spaces function when moving from email to internet to other programs.  Not a huge fan of the updated function.

Problems such as yours are sometimes caused by files that should belong to you but are locked or have wrong permissions. This procedure will check for such files. It makes no changes and therefore is not, in itself, a solution.
First, empty the Trash, if possible.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it, then copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combinationcommand-C:
    find ~ $TMPDIR.. \( -flags +sappnd,schg,uappnd,uchg -o ! -user $UID -o ! -perm -600 \) 2>&- | wc -l | pbcopy
Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window by pressing command-V. The command may take a noticeable amount of time to run.
Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign ($) to appear.
The output of the command will be a number. It's automatically copied to the Clipboard. Please paste it into a reply.
The Terminal window doesn't show the output. Please don't copy anything from there.

  • Apps will not delete - they keep coming back!

I have the latest iTunes (10.1.0.56) on Windows Vista Ultimate 32 bit. This occurs on my iPhone 4 with iOS 4.0.1, as well as on my iPad 3G with iOS 4.2. No, not jail broken either.
I have iTunes managing the apps. I have over 1200 apps, but obviously need to get rid of most of them ...and most are free or were free. I don't want to delete them from itunes, as it helps me know what I've purchased in case I need to reinstall something.
Anyway, i delete apps from my iPhone and iPad, and when I sync, they keep getting reinstalled. It even recopies apps the I have not deleted. While doing this, the iPad will often reboot while syncing, and it just boots up again, and continues. Also, apps that I have installed directly on the iPad or iPhone, get deleted when syncing. I suspect it's tha iTunes is trying the keep the list in sync, but the list is messed up in iTunes. And, I can't manage it in iTunes because of the volume of 1200 apps makes scrolling in iTunes incredibly slow, and often just crashes iTunes ... Which just means it can't manage the list there.
I have already deinstalled itunes, and reinstalled it. I've also already restored my iPad to new, and still the same issues.
Is there a downside to self managing my apps? For instance, is the data still backed up? And purchases too?
This is incredibly frustrating. Seems like others are having similar issues:
    http://appletoolbox.com/2010/09/itunes-10-iphone-ipod-or-ipad-wont-sync/
    Thx.
My contacts and calendar syncs fine.

Here's an update, still the same issues:
    1. I Restored again, and this time turned OFF the App syncing, so that I would do it manually. But that's a pain because the only way to get apps on the device is to find, then download each one manually again from the AppStore. If I only had 10 apps, that would be fine, but I don't. Also, I'm not even guaranteed that my settings for these apps would be backedup.
    2. So, I then dragged an App from the App library into iTunes, to the device, and this just automatically turned on App sync. So I guess that's the only option, to turn on App sync.
Issue A: Now, I still have the issue where if I download an app to the device directly from the App Store, and then sync, itunes will still delete it from the device. Only where I have downloaded it into itunes, then dragged it back to the device, will it stay there.
Issue B: When I resync, itunes still wants to reinstall all the existing apps (it says "Installing ...", even though I haven't touched them, nor have they been updated recently).
This is very irksome!! Anyone have a solution? Please. Thx.

  • Moved or deleted emails keep coming back to Mail inbox

Since Maverick installation, I have been trying to keep my folders from various email accounts organized like in the good old days of Lion but Mail keeps moving my emails back to the original inbox each time I try to either delete or move one of the emails (it usually happens after 3-5 minutes). So much time wasted every day... How to fix please? Thanks.

Just wondering if you have the latest Mail update. This may fix the issue.
    Hope this helps

  • Deleted Emails Keep Coming Back -- WHY has this not been fixed?

    Settings on iPhone:
    Mail Type:  POP
Deleted Messages = After One Day
Delete from Server = Whn removed from inbox
    iOS:  5.1.1
Okay.....this is ridiculous, if you search the web you find hundreds of people complaining about this problem and not one offers any type of solution.  This never happened on my Blackberry.  This ONLY started happening again a few weeks ago on the iPhone.
I have NOT changed any settings anywhere as it relates to email.  This is just annoying when you are trying to work and you get buzzed to only find the same ones deleted are back again.
Is there a FINAL solution to this problem Apple.
    Thanks to all who respond.

If it used to work properly you could try deleting and recreating the account on your phone to see if that would help.  Otherwise you might have to contact godaddy support to see if they know if their server will honor the settings on your phone.

  • Deleted emails keep coming back (3.0.1)

    Hi
Since installing 3.0.1 any emails I delete return after reboot.
I delete any new emails from my inbox. I then empty my trash for that account.
If I then swith off the phone completely (say, overnight) and then switch it back on, all the emails are back and my trash is full again.
These emails definitely no longer exist on the mail server, so aren't being downloaded again.
Does anyone else have this problem?
More importantly, anyone know how to fix it?
    Thanks
    Mr M

Apple please come up with a fix for this!
I am in the same boat as misterm2009. Since last night I have been unable to delete the emails in one of my iPhone email accounts. They show up as new emails but when I try to delete them, either by 'edit' or going to the message and 'trashcanning' it they go but then just reappear as new messages. During the deletion I might be lucky and delete all 6, now 7, of them but more often than not the screen blanks during the process and returns me to the main iPhone home page. Any emails that looked like they had been deleted just reappear as new emails on the icon at the bottom.
I am running os 3.1 and due to a running issue with my previous 3G iPhone am loathe to update to 3.1.2. It kept crashing during update and then was unable to restore....became a useful paperweight! Apple finally thought the phone had a glitch but could not guarantee it.
I have carried out a phone reset by holding the 2 buttons down, deleted offending email account and re-entering the details and I think the phone was restored at one point today but still they come back!!!!! I have checked and they are not on the server and are not continuously appearing in MS Outlook.
Any ideas all you very knowledgeable, helpful people? Especially Apple support!
    Cheers

  • Deleted files keep coming back into the / directory

Tried both finder and cli deleting some files erroniously placed in / but they are back after I startup or re-boot.
Also, my desktop settings will sometimes go back to a previous setting. Location is set to automatic at home I get Black and white desktop and at home I get Aqua. I imagine that the os sets this by remembering setting based on dhcp server response, but I'm not sure.
    Please explain,
    Reece
