Cannot execute CGI script in WL5.1 on Windows

Hi
when i execute a cgi script on WL5.1 on Windows NT machine, i get the
following error :
<ServletContext-General> cgi-bin: Failed to exec CGI script:myscript.pl
The URL i use to call this cgi script is :
http://localhost:7001/cgi-bin/myscript.pl
I have added the following lines to weblogic.cmd file to allow for cgi
support :
weblogic.httpd.register.cgi-bin=weblogic.servlet.CGIServlet
weblogic.httpd.initArgs.cgi-bin=\
cgiDir=d:/weblogic/myserver/cgi-bin,\
*.pl=D:\ActivePerl\Perl\bin\perl5.6.1.exe
Can anyone help me with this ?
Thanks

Just a thought, did you try using forward slashes in the *.pl line?

  • "cannot execute CGI script " error

    Greetings.
    I am trying to setup a Sun One version 6.1 server. When I try to run a simple cgi script, with a .pl suffix, I get:
    "cannot execute CGI script "
    Is there anything in particular I should look for in resolving hte problem ?
    Thanks.
    alan

    One thing I'd like to mention is this document:
    Document ID: 75347
    Title: Sun[TM] ONE WebServer 6 - cannot execute CGI script - Permission denied
    which states:
    case 2: The value for the chroot is NOT set and NO rights are granted
    for cgi's to execute anywhere.
    <PROPERTY name="chroot" value=""/>
    Note that the value of "value=" above will differ from your setup but that
    the location of the line within the server.xml file should be easily
    identifiable by the formatting described above.
    To quickly identify a fix, grant permissions from the root level by
    modifying the line to look thus:
    <PROPERTY name="chroot" value=""/>
    The problem and fix look to be the same. Any idea what the fix should look like ?
    Thanks.

  • In Web Server 6.0 during the execution of a Perl Script, the software send the error "Cannot execute CGI script......unable to sewt group".

    Hi Pablo,
    Its bcos Your web server has been misconfigured. It doesn't know that it should execute your Perl program, so it's just returning the error to the browser.
    Assuming that u use solaris 2.8. Generally the path for the perl in solaris is #!/usr/bin/perl .make sure u have included this in ur first line of the perl programs.[if not enter the exact location of the perl interpretor]
    Now follow these steps:
    *First Part
    First create a cgi folder mycgi-bin( follow this example please) say u create mycgi in /usr folder (solaris). so the path becomes '/usr/mycgi-bin'. set
    appropriate permissions say set chmod to 755. to make it executable. Then
    (1)Goto Programs tab in IWS (iplanet web server) .
    (2)choose cgi-directory drom left frame.
    (3)CGI Directory Add another CGI Directory
    URL prefix: mycgi-bin
    CGI directory: /usr/mycgi-bin
    (4) click 'OK' and click 'apply' to save changes and restart the server.
    * Second Part:
    1.In the Server Administrator, click Server preferences, then select 'MIME Types' from the frame on the left.
    2.If you want to use .pl as the extension for Perl scripts, find and remove the application/x-perl MIME type (this is mapped to .pl by default). (remove it).
    3.Add a new MIME Type with 'magnus-internal/mycgi-bin' (type this exactly ie magnus-internal/cgidirectory url prefix) as the Content Type, and pl as the File Suffix.
    4.Save and apply these changes, then re-start the server.
    5 .Put a sample perl file in mycgi-bin directory say sample.pl and access http://yourserver:port/mycgi-bin/sample. pl
    *If you are having trouble running Perl scripts on your iPlanet server, check the following:
    * Ensure that the script is readable by the account used by the iPlanet service.Generally, this means you should make the script readable by the Everyonegroup.
    * Ensure that all supporting files, like the perl binary files, the perl library files, and the modules that you use, are all readable by the account used by the iPlanet service (i.e., the Everyone group).
    It should work now,
    Regards,
    T.Raghulan

  • Can't execute cgi scripts outside the default

    I had this working fine on my old imac.

    Any help is appreciated

    I will send an update.
    I changed this line
    ScriptAliasMatch ^/cgi-bin/((?!(?i:webobjects)).*$) "/Users/wtfuser/Sites/$1"
    This allowed me to successfully change the location of cgi scripts to a more convenient location, or simply because I wanted to do it! Just because!
    It seems like the AddHandler, and the ExecCGI isn't working. This should allow me to run .cgi files from anywhere, regardless of the script alias.
    So I'm open to suggestions as to why this isn't working.  FYI. I copied my httpd.conf file from my old imac running lion onto my new imac, and it still didn't work. But it works as expected on my old imac.
    Confused. But at least I have a work-around and I know the httpd.conf file I'm modifying is the right one, etc...
    ANd what in gods name is that crap with the favicon.ico?
    This is a brand new out of the box imac, or so I thought. Is this normal??

    Edit ~/.xinitrc and add:
    exec i3
    exec i3 -V >>~/.i3/i3log >&1
    and cp /etc/i3/config ~/.i3/config,after these steps I still cannot execute i3 wm, could anyone tell me what I missed?

    You should add just one of the above exec statements by the way, and it should be on the last line in ~/.xinitrc. The second line is preferred if you want to log messages from i3 while it's running. To start a window manager manually from a console use
    xinit /full/path/to/i3
    Thank you,it seems worked.

  • Windows Task Scheduler does not execute .vbs script as exptected while using CScript.exe

    We have a .vbs script that reads a source text file, looks for errors, performs a find/replace and then writes a cleaned version of the file to a destination folder.
    When executing the script by manually double clicking on the .vbs file, the script works flawlessly.  But when executing via Windows Task Scheduler using Cscript.exe, it creates an empty, zero byte, text file.  Task Scheduler is set to run
    "C:\Windows\System32\cscript.exe" with the Add arguments (optional): C:\Scripts\myscript.vbs.
    Does anyone know of a way to make it work using the Windows Task Scheduler?
    Part of the Script:
    Sub CheckFilesIntegrity()
    Dim cleanedfile,strLine,outputStr, tempstr, tmpChar, changeTo, companycode, storestring
    Dim ObjFileSys, objFile,objCleanFile
    charArray = Array("-","?", "/", "\", ":", "*", """", "<", ">", ",", "&", "#", "~", "%", "{",
    "}", "+", "_", ".", "a", "e", "o", "s", "h","i","E", "O","P", "S", "p", "=")
     Set ObjFileSys   = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject")
     Set objCleanFile = CreateObject("Scripting.FileSystemObject")
     Set objFile = ObjFileSys.OpenTextFile(file.name, ForReading, True)
     textfilename = destinationpath & objfilesys.GetBaseName(file) & ".txt"
     Set cleanedfile = objCleanFile.OpenTextFile(textfilename, ForWriting, True)
     ObjLog.writeline "File containing cleaned up data: " & textfilename
     Do while not objfile.AtEndOfStream
         strLine = objfile.ReadLine()
         tempstr = strLine
         If (Left(UCase(tempStr),8) <> "HPAYMENT") Then
          'fix pay now data entry whre record does not have a company code
          If Mid(tempstr, 18,3) = "000" Then
           companycode = Mid(tempstr,32,3)
           storestring = Left(tempstr,17)
           tempstr =Replace(tempstr,"000",companycode,18,1,1)
           tempstr = storestring & tempstr
           storestring = Left(tempstr,31)
           tempstr= Replace(tempstr,companycode,"000",32,1,1)
           tempstr = storestring & tempstr
          End If
          'remove invalid characters and replace them with zero (filler)
       For Each tmpChar in charArray
        Select Case tmpChar
         Case "-","?", "/", "\", ":", "*", """", "<", ">", ",", "&", "#", "~", "%",
    "{", "}", "+", "_", ".", "a", "e", "o", "s", "h","i","E", "O","P", "S", "p", "="
         changeTo = "0"
         outputStr = replace( tempstr, tmpChar, changeTo,1,-1,1 )
        End Select
        tempstr=outputstr
       Next
      Else
       outputStr = tempstr
      End If
        strLine = outputStr
      cleanedfile.writeline(strLine)
     Loop
     cleanedfile.Close
     Set cleanedfile = Nothing
     Set ObjFileSys = Nothing
     Set objFile = Nothing
     ObjLog.writeline " Completed processing of file: " & textfilename
    End Sub

    So we ended up getting it to work by replicating the double click function.  Meaning that we created a Batch file that calls the .vbs script, then had Windows Task Scheduler run the Batch file.  In that way all necessary permissions were passed
    through from one environment to another, which was failing when we called the .vbs script using CScript.

  • Perl/cgi scripts display as text; don't execute in Safari

    The web tells me I have to update mod_perl. I hope there is an easy way to do it.

    Info is slightly incorrect. I just upgraded (today) to OS X 10.10.1. That is when my perl/cgi scripts stopped executing in Safari. I have tried building mod_perl but the build script fails with a permissions error.

    You can't.

  • Vbs script called from a service cannot execute certain commands

    We have a service, running as domain admin user on Win Svr 2008 std ed, that must execute vb scripts.  The scripts execute, but calls to SETX.exe using Shell.Run fail to set environment variables.  However, SETX returns no errror
    msg.
    If I run the same script within a CMD window with elevated privilege (e.g. Administrator), the script works as expected and environment variables are set.
    What is going on?  File creation fails as well.
    The call looks like this:
    gnReturnCode= RunCmd("setx.exe UD_UPGRADING_RELEASE "True" /m",True)
    Where RunCmd is as follows:
    ' Function:  RunCmd( ByVal strCmd, ByVal bWait)
    ' desc: Execute a command string and wait for result if indicated
    Function RunCmd( ByVal strCmd, ByVal bWait)
    Dim nReturnCode, strWholeCmd
        nReturnCode= 0
        strWholeCmd= "%comspec% /c "&strCmd&" >"&gcsLogFile2

    I did the following and am providing comments on each:
    Run setx.exe from a Command Prompt.
    RESULT: This works and can be seen by new processses regardless of privilege provided they are done under the same credentialed user.
    Run a really simple script from the Command Prompt, e.g. the one below, and check if it works.
    Set oWshShell = CreateObject("WScript.Shell")
    sCMD = "cmd /c setx.exe Test %time% /m"
    wscript.echo "Error code=" & oWshShell.run(sCmd, 0, true)
    RESULT:  This works and result can be seen by new processes regardless of privilege provided they are done under the same credentialed user.  My attempts to user another credentialed user failed with a permission to access reegistry path not
    granted.
    Run the same script as a scheduled task, using the same account as you use for your service, then check if it worked.
    RESULT:  Script ran, but only new processes with elevated privilege could see the change.  New processes without elevated privilege could not see the change.  I had to log out and log back in for new processes without elevated privilege
    to pick up the change.
    Run that script as a service, then check again if it worked.
    RESULT:  Script ran, but only new processes with elevated privilege could see the change.  New processes without elevated privilege could not see the change.  I had to log out and log back in for new processes without elevated privilege
    to pick up the change.

    P.S.  I also created an application that gets called after the the script has made environment variable changes.  It broadcasts the WM_SETTINGCHANGE message.  I did this in hopes that something would refresh in the Windows OS allowing non-privileged
    users to see the change.  It did not help.  Here's the C++ line that I executed:
    LRESULT error1 = SendMessageTimeout(HWND_BROADCAST, WM_SETTINGCHANGE, 0, (LPARAM)
    "Environment", SMTO_ABORTIFHUNG,
    5000, &dwReturnValue);

  • How to disable windows dialogue when executing a script

    Hi there.
    I'm trying to automate a task that needs a PSD file to update a layer text.
    For this task my script reads an externar data from www.mydomain.es/resource.cfg.
    Everything has to be done automatically and the script will be programmed to run to a certain hour in my XP machine.
    Data is retrieved, but when  .jsx file tries to run a warning dialog displays in Windows. Something like:
    "Security alert: you are about to execute a script in Photoshop CS4. Do yo want to Continue(button) or Cancel(button).
    This prompt will ruin my script as i need to do everything automatically.
    Does anybody knows how to configure windows, the script or whatever so that the script just executes without asking?
    Thanks so much ofr your help.

    Found the solution:
    I have to place the script in the folder PS CS4 creates for scripts in XP located in documents and settings\user\My Documents\Adobe scripts
    There seems to be a trusted folder and won't display any warning

  • How to execute SQL Script using windows powershell(using invoke-sqlcmd or any if)

    OS : Windows server 2008
    SQL Server : SQL Server 2012
    Script: Test.sql (T-SQL)  example : "select name from sys.databases"
    Batch script: windows  MyBatchscript.bat ( here connects to sql server using sqlcmd  and output c:\Testput.txt)
     (sqlcmd.exe -S DBserverName -U username -P p@ssword -i C:\test.sql -o "c:\Testoutput.txt)  ---it working without any issues.....
    This can execute if i double click MyBatchscript.bat file and can see the output in c:\testput.txt.
    Powershell: Similarly, How can i do in powershell 2.0 or higher versions?  can any one give full details with each step?
    I found some of them online, but nowhere seen clear details or examples and it not executing through cmd line (or batch script).
    example: invoke-sqlcmd -Servernameinstance Servername -inputfile "c:\test.sql" | out-File -filepath "c:\psOutput.txt"  --(call this file name MyTest.ps1)
    (The above script working if i run manually. I want to run automatic like double click (or schedule with 3rd party tool/scheduler ) in Batch file and see the output in C drive(c:\psOutput.txt))
    Can anyone Powershell experts give/suggest full details/steps for this. How to proceed? Is there any configurations required to run automatic?
    Thanks in advance.

    Testeted the following code and it's working.....thanks all.
    Execute sql script using invoke-sqlcmd with batch script and without batch script.
    Option1: using Import sqlps
    1.Save sql script as "C:\scripts\Test.sql"  script in side Test.sql: select name from sys.databases
    2.Save Batch script as "C:\scripts\MyTest.bat" Script inside Batch script:
    powershell.exe C:\scripts\mypowershell.ps1
    3.Save powershell script as "C:\scripts\mypowershell.ps1"
    import-module "sqlps" -DisableNameChecking
    invoke-sqlcmd -Servername ServerName -inputFile "C:\scripts\Test.sql" | out-File -filepath "C:\scripts\TestOutput.txt"
    4.Run the Batch script commandline or double click then can able to see the output "C:\scripts\TestOutput.txt" file.
    5.Connect to current scripts location  cd C:\scripts (enter)
    C:\scripts\dir (enter )
    C:\scripts\MyTest.bat (enter)
    Note: can able to see the output in "C:\scripts" location as file name "TestOutput.txt".
    Option2: Otherway, import sqlps and execution
    1.Save sql script as "C:\scripts\Test.sql"  script in side Test.sql: select name from sys.databases
    2.Save powershell script as "C:\scripts\mypowershell.ps1"
    # import-module "sqlps" -DisableNameChecking #...Here it not required.
    invoke-sqlcmd -Servername ServerName -inputFile "C:\scripts\Test.sql" | out-File -filepath "C:\scripts\TestOutput.txt"
    3.Connect to current scripts location
    cd C:\scripts (enter)
    C:\scripts\dir (enter )
    C:\scripts\powershell.exe sqlps C:\scripts\mypowershell.ps1 (enter)

  • Cannot Execute Any UNIX Scripts From DAC

    Hello,
    I have a BI system implementation on Oracle Solaris Servers. Both DAC as well as Informatica are on single server. My business requirement calls for a frequent Data load into BI and Cache purge. i checked the forum and found so many articles on how to automate Purging of Cache Post ETL. I am successful in creating a script to purge the cache and i already tested it by executing the script manually. But when i call this script from a DAC task it fails. In order to make sure that there is no problem with the Script i created a simple script which just says "Hello" and tried to invoke the script from DAC task but failed.

    Re: FDM - Script

  • Cannot Execute Scripts from UNC Despite GPOs Allowing Me To Do So

    Hello!
    I'm having an issue getting scripts to execute from a UNC share.
    I have followed in instructions in the below two blog postings:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/heyscriptingguy/archive/2012/10/29/how-to-run-powershell-scripts-from-a-shared-directory.aspx
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/heyscriptingguy/archive/2013/08/10/weekend-scripter-run-powershell-scripts-from-remote-file-share-part-2.aspx
    I have also used Group Policy to set the execution policy to Unrestricted for the MachinePolicy and UserPolicy scopes:
    PS C:\> Get-ExecutionPolicy -List | Ft -AutoSize
            Scope ExecutionPolicy
    MachinePolicy    Unrestricted
       UserPolicy    Unrestricted
          Process       Undefined
      CurrentUser       Undefined
     LocalMachine    RemoteSigned
    Unfortunately, I am still getting the following prompt when executing a script from a remote share:
    \\Server1\Share\Install-Something.ps1 -Parameter1 Value1 -Parameter2 Value2
    Security warning
    Run only scripts that you trust. While scripts from the internet can be useful, this script can potentially harm your
    computer. If you trust this script, use the Unblock-File cmdlet to allow the script to run without this warning
    message. Do you want to run
    \\tlehmann.vcs.coaxis.net\Source\QA_Automation\QA_Repository\Scripts\Installation\AutoBuildv2\Install-AutoBuild.ps1?
    [D] Do not run  [R] Run once  [S] Suspend  [?] Help (default is "D"): r
    I have executed GPRESULT and it states the GPOs are being applied successfully.
    Why am I still getting this prompt? Please help before I go crazy.

    AS IS ALWAYS THE CASE, ONCE I ASK FOR HELP I FIND AN ANSWER ON MY OWN.
    <FrustratedSquabbling>fhj19387ruasd;lkfj rlkghkushdvas907faihsc</FrustratedSquabbling>
    When I entered the UNC path, I was entering an FQDN and not a NETBios name (e.g. \\Server1.domain.com\Share\Script1.ps1 vs \\Server\Share\Script1.ps1)
    Can someone help me understand WHY the FQDN did this to me?
