Cannot install Visual Studio Community 2013 - Error message "Visal Studio 2013 Ultimate is installed..."

Hello,
I am trying to install Visual Studio Community 2013 in my machine but when I start the setup process I get the followingerror message:
Setup Blocked
Visual Studio Ultimate 2013 is currently installed on this machine. Please uninstall Visual Studio Ultimate 2013 and retry.
The problem is that I used to have VS Ultimate 2013 (Preview Edition, I think) installed on my machine but I've uninstalled it some time ago. It looks like something was left over in process.
What I've tried to do was to install VS Ultimate 2013 again, perform a repair operation and then uninstall it again. This uninstall process is reported to be successful. However, it did not solve my problem: VS Community 2013 installation still fails.
Does anyone have an idea how to solve this?

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but this sort of situation is exactly why potential users of pre-release software are warned NOT to install test software on production systems. While a new software version is in development, one of the LAST things to
be finalized is the uninstaller. So, uninstalling a test edition often leaves behind unwanted artifacts.
In your situation, I'd do a clean install of my OS, then install VS.

You need to post your issue with Windows 10 TP in the Feedback app. Breaking changes in a prerelease OS are not uncommon and have occurred before, IIRC.
You can also try to repair the failing applications.

From your error message looks like it is a VS designer issue, I would recommend you do the same as Ken suggested, besides keep your windows update and reboot the device machine should help.
Another possibility is maybe you update with Silverlight 5.0, as I can see from a old post:

I can't install MS Visual Studio 2010 ultimate

Hi everyone
I'm trying to install MS Visual Studio 2010 in my laptop, but it get stuck on this point shown in snap shot. I've installed this several times before but now i can't, even I installed my windows again but the problem is same. I'm using windows 7 ultimate.
Please help me if someone knows about it.

Could you please clarify some information like from where you are installing the Visual Studio 2010 ultimate. Are you trying to use web installer or you downloaded the ISO from Microsoft web site.
If it web installer, It may cause by connection issue during the installation. Please try download the content online or copy the content from your DVD to some folders from your disk, then try the installation again. And try to use the tool in below link
to check your ISO checksum.

Cannot start visual studio 3013

I downloaded visual studio 2013. Two years ago I used an old user id. I don't have the password. I cannot get rid of it. It suggests to use a 'change user id'. Where is that?
Why will this not work. I cannot start visual studio.

I am having trouble in installing Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate on Windows 7 SP1 x64

I am trying to Install VS2010 Ultimate on Windows 7 X64 SP1 Specifically SP1 because before it I am using Windows 7 x64 and VS2010 Ultimate working there excellently. When I try to install it says the Setup file is incompatible with your Windows version

Welcome to the MSDN Forum.
As far as I know, Visual Studio 2010 is compatible with Windows 7 SP1. I think this issue might related with the Visual Studio install media. I recommand you download Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate from
this link, and follow the steps below to install it:
Before install Visual Studio, please finish the steps below first:
Turn off your anti-virus/antispyware software during installation;
Install the latest Windows updates from the Windows Update site:
http://update.microsoft.com;
Complete or dismiss Windows Update before installation. (And don't forget to turn it on later);
Clean your %temp% folder (Start Menu >> Run >> Type "%temp% >> OK);
Run the setup with Administrator privilege: right-click the installer -> Run as administrator
If the installation still failed, please collect the installation log files from "%temp%" folder with the
Log Collection Tool.
Send the vslogs.cab file in the %temp% folder to me for further analyze(E-mail: v-anwu_at_microsoft_dot_com). Note: Please attach the link of this post in the mail.

"The Java Runtime Environment cannot be loaded..." Error Message

After downloading and installing the Java Plug-In (j2re-1_3_1_01a-win.exe) I return to the Plug-In page (the one with the steaming coffee cup) and get the following error message: "The Jave Runtime Environment cannot be loaded from <��4d\bin\hotspot\jvm.dll>"
The odd characters before the \bin change every time I leave and then return to the page. Reloading the page gives the same set of odd characters. Has anyone seen this and if so how do I get this thing to work? I tried downloading Beta 3 of the 1.4 version of the plg-in. When visiting the page with the steaming coffee cup after installing this version, IE (6.0.2600) disappears. The browser just closes without giving error messages or anything else. Thanks in advance for any help.

the problem is NOT solved in JRE 1.4.2_04 (build 05b)... the only solution that worked for me (too) was the one suggested by the mighty capaloco and that I enclose here together with your answer slightly below.
Hope this confirmation will be of some help and thanks to capaloco for the effective solution.

It worked for me. It seems that you just need to delete the file deployment.properties.
I found it under: Program Data\Sun\Java\Deployment

As the poster jessh indicated above, the bug is logged and workaround provided at the JDC site.
Having gone there and read the sun response, here is the problem and simple solution.
The problem is that if you ever had 1.3.1_xx version of the JRE loaded, then loaded a 1.4.2_xx version, some registry keys were removed, and that's why you're getting the "cannot load runtime environment" error.
Rather than manually adding registry keys for those of you who are uncomfortable with that, you just need to re-install the 1.3.1_10 version of hte JRE. If you need to have both the 1.4.2 version and 1.3.1 version available, you have to install the 1.3.1 version LAST so it will recreate the registry keys removed by thte 1.4.2 installation.
This problem is apparently fixed by sun in the 1.4.2_4 version of the JRE (the installation simply re-creates the registry entries that are removed), which is not released yet (as far as I know).
Hope this helps, and thanks to jessh who pointed me to this solution.

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

Epson support struggled to find reason and several solutions were tried and they assume this is an Adobe problem.

To remove the "Conduit" spyware, take the steps below.
Triple-click the line below on this page to select it:

Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. From the Finder menu bar, select

Paste into the box that opens (command-V), then press return. A Finder window should open with a folder named "Conduit" selected. If it does, delete the selected item.

Visual Studio 2012 Ultimate - GUI not loading.

Recently, my copy of Visual Studio 2012 Ultimate has started loading in with a completely white screen with only the grey General bar on the left.
The other graphics render after resizing the window but the menu items (File, Edit, View, etc.) won't drop down menus when clicked on.
I have tried repairing Visual Studio (through Programs and Features), but the problem persists.
Has anyone else had this issue? Did you manage to fix it?

According to your description, you mean that when you re-install the VS 2012 Ultimate, the grey General bar and
the window’s menu items (File, Edit, View, etc.) still won't drop down menus when you clicked on, am I right?
If yes, to make sure the issue if it is related to the VS IDE or Windows System, I suggest you can try to install
the VS 2012 Ultimate on another machine check if you get same issue.
Note: you'd better sure you have same system configuration on another machine.
If you did not get same issue on another machine, I doubt that the issue may be related to your windows system.
I suggest you can repair your machine and then check this issue again.
If you still get the issue, I think that I suggest you can try the following commands to check the issue.
Step1: You can try to run your VS in safe mode check this issue again.
