Canvas Background ....

Hi all,
I have a problem in changing background of a canvas. The problem is when I import my background which is a .jpg file, and put it on a canvas, all the items at run time are visible as I dont want to see them as an Item. I just want to see them if they have any value (I mean I just want to see the value of the items not items.)
Can any body solve my problem???
Thanks in advance
Soofi

Thanks for your response. But there is no colour mathing with my back ground. Is there no property of an item as tranparent?????
If an item could be transparent, my problem can be solved.
Thanks any way for your response.

  • Setting Canvas Background Color issue

    For some reason I cannot set a color for my canvas background. I have tried using setStyle('backgroundColor', colorNumber); in actionscript and setting directly in the mxml with no success. It only takes the value that is set in the design mode of Flex.  Ideally I want to load in a color value from an xml file and use that color value, which I have been doing for other components, but for some reason the canvas will not work. Any ideas???

    Ok this is complete code, where i'm reading xml through wrapper which you can do it through HTTPservice. Make sure you put proper swf name while embeding.

  • Change viewer/canvas background color?

    When I have a HD clip in the canvas window I get the letterbox look.
    The bars are currently grey which I assume is default.
    Is there anyway to change the canvas background color to black?

    Just hit Control + U if you fancy the standard layout
    or go to FCP main menu>Window>Arrange> Two Up
    if you fancy a more useful layout (IMO).
    These actions will clear the confusion.
    I have the Two Up view shortcut set to Shift + 2 (You can choose your own).
    You can achieve that by customizing your keyboard shortcuts (Alt/Otion + H to start with keyboard layout customization).

  • Canvas background color

    I am trying to place a wide screen matt in the canvas. However the canvas background is grey....and the mask applied to the actual picture is black....how do I change the background color in the canvas so it is all black?
    g5   Mac OS X (10.4.4)

    The grey you are seeing won't show up in any Quicktime export or tape output. It is just the area surrounding your VIEWABLE are. If you resize the window or go to the WINDOW menu and choose a workspace preset, like TWO-UP then it will go away. But it is nothing that will appear on your footage.

  • Changing prompt colour in oracle forms 6i to canvas background (solution)

    One of the really infuriating things about Oracle Forms 6i (and possibly other versions) is that when you set a visual attribute for a item the prompt, as well ad field, takes that background colour. Seing it is common to have the field background white and the canvas background gray this is a paid. The following procedure sets the background colour for all prompts to the background colour of the canvas the prompts field sites on - i.e. it automaticaly sorts out the problem.
    PROCEDURE lp_setup_prompt_colour IS
    -- This procedure sets the background colour of all prompts to the
    -- items canvas background colour

    if canvas is not null then -- don't bother if null canvas item
    SET_ITEM_PROPERTY(field_name, PROMPT_BACKGROUND_COLOR,
    GET_CANVAS_PROPERTY(canvas ,BACKGROUND_COLOR));
    end if;
    -- Stop looping once the last item in the form has been added to the list
    exit when this_block = last_blockname and this_item = last_field;
    if this_item = last_field then -- weve looped round and are back at first field

  • Photoshop redrawing canvas background problem

    Hi,
    I have a new MacBook Pro running OSX 10.6 and Photoshop CS4. I've experienced some strange graphics problems when rescaling the Photoshop window, specifically the grey canvas background becomes full of weird patterns. It makes me think its a video card problem, but it seems specific to Photoshop, and isnt solved by a restart, but then sometimes just sorts itself out.
    Has anyone else experienced anything similar?
    thanks
    Leigh

    Thanks for the reply,
    Photoshop and the OS are uptodate, not sure about the card drivers, I presume they'd show up in software update if they were out of date?
    I've turned of OpenGL in photoshop, its behaving itself at the moment, will post back if it starts again.

  • Mac, second monitor changes to canvas background when I switch between full screen apps on my mac display?

    When I plug in my monitor using a thunderbolt to hdmi cable I would like to use my moitor as a second display, which i can do, but then when i switch between full screen apps on my mac it changes what i have on my monitor to a canvas background. Is there a way to fix the display on my monitor so that it will always be accesable?

    Apple:
    This is how it "Should" work.
    Each display should be treated as it own desktop.  If you swipe on a desktop it should swipe through the hidden screens/displays.   If your a user with multi displays connected to your Mac, you could have "Full Screen" Apps, Dashboard, Mission Control, and etc available to swipe on each of your connected displays.
    Display 1...swipe, swipe... mouse over to Display 2...   swipe swipe swipe...  oh.. Display 3, swipe!  All set for work or play!
    This would be a well received "Feature" for the Worlds Most Advanced Operating System.
    Cheers
    I have seen apps (like MPlayerX and VLC) have their own "built in" workaround for the full-screen problems on multi-displays.

  • How do I eliminate the canvas background?

    I created a logo that I wish to begin using for print and online. Because of the canvas, I have a white rectangle background. It's ok for white paper for print, but not OK for website with a colored background. How do I get rid of the white canvas background?

    If the logo is on it's own layer, simply delete the background layer and save it out as a transparent image. If they're on the same layer, you could use the magic eraser tool and click on all the white areas to turn them transparent.

  • Import an image as a canvas background

    I have been trying to import a gif image as a canvas background
    for a web forms application and am having a lot of trouble.
    Hopefully someone can help.
    I am running a SunOS 5.6 server,
    Windows NT client,
    Developer 6.0,
    Forms 6.0
    We have set up the FORMS60_OUTPUT and FORMS60_MAPPING
    variables. There is no trailing / in their defintion and TMPDIR
    is not set. I use the file -> import -> image command to import
    the image. It shows up in the forms builder window, but when
    deployed to the web it shows a broken image icon. The forms
    server is doing something, since a jpeg of my image gets written
    to the directory specified in FORMS60_OUTPUT, it just doesn't
    show up on the form.
    It is my understanding that the image is stored in the fmx . . .
    the online help says:
    "Graphic Objects: A graphic object is a static image (either
    vector or bitmap) that you import from the file system or
    database and use as a static graphical element in your
    application. Graphic objects are often used as background
    pictures. When you save and compile a form module, graphic
    objects are incorporated into the .FMB and .FMX files. You can
    manipulate graphic objects in the Layout Editor as you would
    other objects."
    But just in case I put a copy of the gif into the directory that
    the fmx is in, the directory that the html is in, and the
    directory that the button icons are getting pulled in from
    (these show up fine, by the way.) but none of this seems to work.
    I am at my a loss at this point and don't know what else to do.
    Please help me if you can.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
    Firefox and other browsers are just front ends that display email pages like any other web page. The actual emails, the settings, storage etc. are all stored and coming from the email provider's end and Firefox just formats and displays them nicely. You may have to go into the settings of the email account to see if the provider has an option to include images as signatures. If the provider hasn't setup an option to insert images as signatures, then it's may not be possible.

  • Canvas background via Java

    Is there a way to set the background color of a canvas via Java. I am using FocusLost and FocusGained to change the background color of textfields to be able to better show where the cursor is on a form. I have a couple of forms that have multiple canvases showing at the same time and the user wants the canvas color to change when the cursor is in a field on that canvas.
    Is there a focus event associated with a canvas? Is there a way to control the canvas color via Java?

    Hi Dave,
    Is there a reason you don't use SET_CANVAS_PROPERTY(BACKGROUND_COLOR, ...)?
    In Java on the client, the canvas is not one of the objects we expose. However you can do what you want in Java and using some getParents() to get to the canvas, and then do a setBackground() on that. But note that this isn't supported, and the hierarchy could change at any time...

  • Canvas background color slightly off

    I notice this with certain colors more, but it seems like even if I paint the background the same exact color as my layer background, the canvas color is not exactly the same. I'm assuming it's a color management/profile kind of issue, but I keep that stuff off, so I'm not sure what's causing this. Has anyone had a similar experience?
    Thanks,

    Say what?
    Could you post a screenshot with the Layers Panel visible because I don’t quite follow?
    I'm assuming it's a color management/profile kind of issue, but I keep that stuff off, so I'm not sure what's causing this.
    How exactly did you do that and how do you suppose it should affect you if you have turned it »off«?
    Are you talking about multiple images or one?

  • Canvas background color bug

    Hey,
    abviously there is a bug in the new Adobe Reader X.
    The Adobe Reader crashes at start up when setting the background color of the 3D annotation canvas with the following function:
    In Adobe Reader 9.x this worked for me!
    //=============================
    function changeBGcolor()
    var topColor = new Color(1.0, 1.0, 1.0);
    var bottomColor = new Color(0.5, 0.5, 0.7);
    var myRenderObject = new RenderEventHandler();
    myRenderObject.onEvent = function(event)
    var theCanvas = event.canvas;
    theCanvas.background.setColor(topColor, bottomColor);
    runtime.addEventHandler( myRenderObject );
    changeBGcolor();

    I am using Windows Vista 64bit and I create the PDF with the iText library, but as I said, with Adobe Reader 9.x everything worked fine for me. Now, with Adobe Reader X, that does not work.:(

  • Stacked canvas background color

    How on earth do I get the background color of my stacked canvas to be the same as the rest of my form (the default forms grey color)? I have both my main canvas and stacked canvas on the same visual attribute, all with background & foreground colors set to unspecified (at both the canvas and visual attribute level). No matter what, the background of the stack is white. I've tried setting it at runtime, but the color is slightly different on each machine used. I've tried everything I can think of -- any ideas? Thanks.

    Well the problem is that we want the background surrounding our main canvas to be white (that way the tabs up top are white too) and the form itself in the main canvas to be the default grey (that is our standard). Changing the background to gray or some other color in the visual attribute changes both the white background and the default form's grey to that one color, which doesn't really fix the problem at all. If it's left as unspecified, we get the white background and the default forms grey for the background color of the form. The stacked canvas always wants the white.
