Cap One EO Doubles My CL!

Hello all...The Cap One EO has treated me right yet again!!! They called me on Thursday, only 2 days after I sent my email. I asked for 2x my CL, plus an upgrade to a World Elite MC. I just logged in and saw I had already been granted my CLI to $15,000. That was the fastest turn around I have ever experienced. The rep told me it would take until Wednesday. I will let you all know if my WMC or WEMC status is granted as well. I started with a $500 credit steps platinum only 3 years ago and thanks to the info gotten from myFICO I have been able to get to where I never thought possible. Thanks to all!

Is this a QS MC? I'll be calling EO on the 29th, 6 months from my last CLI and "account upgrade". I had a Plat that was at $1500, got a CLI of $3000 up to $4500! I chatted with a rep to get it converted to a QS MC. EO told me back then that the QS conversion was an upgrade and even they could only do one upgrade every 6 months. I'm interested to see if they'll give you the WEMC. I know there's a WMC version but it'd be nice to see a QS WEMC! That's what I'm going to ask for too, and if they can't do the World Elite, just get it converted to a World. Gotta do something to stay sane in the garden
OzHey Ozix...Yes, this is a QS Mastercard that started out as a regular $39 AF Platinum. Each upwards step I have attained has been through the EO...every six months. I'll update my WMC/WEMC status as soon as I hear back from them. Good luck to you on the 29th!

All new keyboards need Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and above for full functionality.
Rather short-sighted of Apple perhaps, but that seems to be a trend these days.
I'm afraid the only fix is to upgrade to SL. Personaly, I'd take it back and get a refund and seek an older keyboard or a third-party one elsewhere.

  • Very Happy with Cap One EO-Recon

So my wife and I had to both recon this year with Cap One and were pleasantly surprised by the customer service we received. We are both near the end of our rebuilding stage with FICO scores in the 700-710 range. We were both approved for Venture cards with 15k and 20k limits. After explaining the reasons for some historical baddies the CSR quickly approved the appls.  My wife had three prev accts with CO I had none.

  • Cap One QS sudden CLI

My Cap One QS CL automatically jumped from $750 to $2750 this morning - I opened this card 12 months ago with $500 CLI and 0% APR for 9 months- CLI increased from $500 to $750 around January- I requested a CLI back in April but was declined- Past couple months I started paying down my QS balance in big chunks from 87% to 7% (as the intro rate expired)- This morning I logged in and saw my CL as $2750 but no congrats email from Cap One yet I'm hoping to increase my score by lowering my overall utilization, I also brought down my Credit One card to 7% last week.I also have a Cap One Platinum MC, they offered me a CLI by November if I pay $125 each month

    Great news! Congrats!

  • Have You Been Thought This Situation With Cap One...

Honestly anything can happen. What we do know is that cap1 likes to see usage and doesn't mind seeing a balance.

They took it down to fix bugs but said it'd be back. You could at that point combine the two for a larger limit, then push a bunch of money through it, and then get a nice CLI (hopefully). Just a thought.

  • Cap One Platinum to QS

Back in December my mailbox was flooded with pre-approvals from Capital One Platinum MC offers (literally got 7 in a month).  I decided what the heck and applied and got 2 cards each with a $300 limit, no AF and Credit Steps program.  Pathetically low limits I know, but I was excited to have anything.  I have made all payments on time and always several times throughout the month.  I haven't yet received a CLI which is frustrating to me, but when I initiated a chat they said that I will get it by the 7th statement (still 2 months out..grrr). While I was on chat though, I decided to see if they had any upgrade offers for me and they did! They upgraded both my Cap One Platinum Cards to QS cards with no AF!!!  I am hoping to get those CLI soon, but I'm starting to feel like things are changing!   Whoo hoo for rebuliding and Thank you to everyone on this forum for the great advice!   I would have never thought to ask for an upgrade before seeing it suggested here.

  • 5 WAY BATTLE! DCU/PenFed/USAA/NFCU/Cap One

So I was in the market for a 2015 ford mustang GT premium with all the bells and whistles. Found one sticker price was 46 almost 47K. Negotiated price, trade in (had negative equity but got the dealer to agree to pay it off), rebates, so on and so forth. Originally would have been around 54 after tax, ended up with 46 after tax needed a 39K loan. Here's what I got: DCU pulled EQ and said I had a 655 (lower than myfico) , approved for 40K (i think I had room to ask for more) at 4.49 for up to 65 months.Capital One approved up to 40K between 2.53% and 5.84% depending on length of term and modelUSAA approved for 3.75% up to 72 months and 4.49% at 84 months up to 60KPenfed approved 2.74% for no named cap but gave me the 40K I asked for up to 72 monthsand.... Navy Federal who I have 1/3 of my products with lost a customer to Penfed. Approved originally at 6.79% for no named cap up to 72 months. I reconned and told them USAA (only ones that had decision from at that moment) had offered me 3.75. They countered with 6.54%. Sooo taking my checking, savings, CDs and credit card business and dispersing between USAA and Cap One since they don't seem to value me. Anyway, I went with USAA at the time (prior to Penfed giving me their decision) and now Penfed changed the approval to a refi approval so i'll use them instead. I have quite a few derogatory marks on my file from 2 years and 3 years ago. No open collections. One paid charge off. One 120 day late from 2011. Clean report since July 2013. Income 86K. Inquiries between 9-15 depending on report. No negatives on previous auto loan. Average age of accounts 4 years.

It is easier to pay  but you will always be in negative equity state. If you do decide to take a 6 year note, either hold the car for six years or pay it like if it was a 4 year note. In that way if you decide get 2021 Mustang, you will be all set (if you pay it over six years) or a 2019 Mustang (If you pay it off in four years with a six year loan). Fee

  • Skeptical about Cap One Pre-Qual. Update:Approved!

I have been trying Capital One prequal for about 2 months,I put the following in the form: *rebuilding and *not sure (for type of card). I did not get any pre approved offers. Then a few nights ago I did the pre-qual again and got "approved" for venture, quicksilver and Plat prestige. And to be honest, I have been struggling about putting an app in due to my tax liens. Then today I realized I have been selecting "Rebuilding" for "rate your credit" and got nothing, and when I accidentally put in average, I got preapproved for top tier cards! To me, if I looked good for Venture and QS, I would look really good good for Platinum, but that's not the case - so my skepticism is at all time high! Anyone have any insights or want to try the pre approval and select "rebuilding" even if you have good scores? Thanks!

    drewg350 wrote:
I know you weren't sure about being approved, but seeing you were approved for 10K Venture, I'll guarantee you would've been approved for the QS at 5K with no AF for sure. But I know. You weren't sure so you went low instead. Totally understandable. Congrats !!!!Believe me, I went back and forth on that for about an hour after I decided to pull the trigger. I figured that if it was a "mistake" that I was prequalified after they looked deeper in my file that an approval with QS1 is better than a denial with QS. I honestly thought I'd get  a toy limit either way, so 3K +10K was a massive win.Things in my favor that I did over the past three months 1. Getting all med collections paid and deleted - thanks myfico forums2. Correcting all my employment and address info across the three bureaus - thanks myfico forums3. Opening a secured card with a $500 limit and having it report at less than 10 % (my only active card) - a big thanks to myfico forums Other things in my favor:Aoa - 8 yearsNo lates on Mortgage for 2 1/12 yearsNo lates on 2nd mortgage which does not show as a mortgage but as an installment loan for 2 1/2 yearsMuch Higher Mortgage scores than fico 8's - see signatureCap one appears to be tax lien friendly (obviously)Decent income $60-$70K Things not in my favor that were convincing me not to apply One 3 year old charge off, not Cap oneOne 2 year old settled for less than full - not Cap OneLots of  lates when I was modifying mortgage prior to 2 1/2 years ago  One thing that almost convinced me to stop on the Venture one was clicking the "i" on the application that said this: Do BOTH of these describe you?
    defaulted
I have never declared bankruptcy or defaulted
on a loan.I have not been more than 60 days
late on any credit card, medical bill, or loan in
    the last year.
    - AND -
I have had a loan or credit card for 3 years or
more with a credit limit above $5,000. Good things: Today I actually called SDFCU where I had just applied for another secured $300 card and had them stop the application! Also, now looking back, I wish I didn't do the SCT for two department store cards. But only two, so it's not too bad. They have not even reported yet and had no bearing on my Cap 1 applications. Advice: Check all levels when you do the pre qual! In other words do it once with rebuliding and once with average and excellent. It's only because I accidentally clicked average and not rebuilding that I saw approvals! Know all of your scores and what specific lendors use. I hope this info helps someone! I can't say enough about Cap 1 - they actually looked at my most current credit history and gave me a chance. I am totally good for now until I need a car loan!

  • Use HP from Cap One Credit Card to discuss Auto Loan

Hey folk.  As the title says, has anyone tried using the pull they do for the card to then discuss an auto loan with cap1 auto finance? I thought it would be a good way to investigate where I am with them as we need to get a second car soon without another triple pull.

  • How does one remove double calendar entries?

I have been getting some calendar events as doubles on my iPhone 4 after syncing in iTunes. The prompt for "reviewing the event doesn't always appear. How do I fix it so that the window to choose which version of an event to keep, appears?
And why are there sometimes 2 copies of an event on my iPhone?
    Any ideas?

  • Capital One Suddenly Generous with CLIs

A few week back I used the 'luv' button to request a CLI for my QuickSilver One Mastercard (which I will likely close if they don't help out with the annual fee - but that's in a different thread) and was pleasantly surprised when they gave it a $1000 increase - more than 50% of the previous limit.  I have a QuickSilver Visa Signature I intend to replace it with that has a SL of $5K.  Just a few days ago, the 4th statement was generated so I figured what the heck, let's hit the button and see what happens on the Visa, not expecting much especially since I had such good luck just a few days ago with the other card.  I was immediately offered a $2K increase, making the new CL $7K    I know there's been reports of folks getting Venture cards with nice SLs, but this post is regarding CLIs on existing accounts.  My poor MasterCard with them struggled for years to even get a $200 increase, much less an increase in the thousands.  Are they finally realizing they have been leaving money on the table by forcing customers to other banks, or do you think this is just a 'fluke'?  I'm not one to question good luck, but I figure I'm among friends here, so I'm reaching out to see what you think.

I have a Cap One QS1, and I have been absolutely battling them for an adult level of credit for months. It started at $300 in July 2014 - I was subprime, for sure - and completed credit steps. I had used just about the full $300 and PIF every month. Got a measely $200 increase to $500 in January, but  i didn't complain. Few months later, I tried an CLI, denied. Was told there had been a change in the account. Of course, they were referring to the $200 increase. So, I let it go, and apped for other cards. Well...no one gave me a limit under $1500, and that was Discover (who is conservative, anyways). My next lowest was $3500.  Ringed back Capital One and, long story short, had to escalate all the way to the EO to get the card *up to* $1,000. So basically, because Cap One is being stingy, they are still viewing me - and lending credit to me - as if I'm subprime. Wee bit irritating. I had explained to them that though the QS1 gave me 1.5% cash back, the annual fee and $1000 limit hampered use for me; my NFCU cashRewards is the same reward structure, but with no annual fee, an $8,000 limit and even a lower interest rate. No dice. Heck, even my Merrick Bank still has a higher limit. Embarrassing.  I'm planning to hammer my QS1 with charges for 2-3 more months - paying down a couple times a month - and see if they get the message. If I can't get a bump after that, it's definitely a candidate for closure, since it's only 1 year old.Littlewing, have you checked out the pre-qualification site yet to see what they show you good for?  I was equally disgusted four months ago due to dealing with the same type stuff you describe (before these latest CLIs, my last one was for only $200).  I'm with you, it seems easier to just re-app for another card, in my case it was another QuickSilver (but the Visa Sig instead) with no annual fee and a starting line more than double the credit line on the old account, which has taken me eight years to even get as high as it is now. (This much is certainly well-documented) See what they show you pre-qual'd for, and if you like what you see it might be worth your sanity to bite the bullet and take the HPs just to be done with it.  For me, "protecting" my report from HPs is not worth as much as the piece of mind I have now knowing I don't have to call and "beg" each year for them to throw me a bone for the annual fee on the new account, and if I choose to do so for the old QS1 MasterCard it's not because I have to.  Many folks don't mind sending email to CEOs, waiting for call-backs that may or may not come, or calling a list of backdoor numbers, but I think I've decided I've grown tired of feeling likeI am always begging them to do business with me, either by waiving an AF or giving me a (until recently) $200 increase.  Ironically, going by their willingness to approve the QS Visa a few months back, it seems it's not me they have an issue with but strangely it's the account itself.  It's too bad they don't realize it's the same person behind *both* accounts, but they don't... we're just numbers. If the nice CLIs on the QS1 Mastercard had come a little earlier, this could have been a very different conversation.Yeah, I'm very seriously considering that. I try to time my apps so that everything in on a June/July and December/January cycle for increases. SO...I may be getting myself a Christmas Venture One app, haha.LOL... I like that plan.  Here's an idea; even if you aren't ready to actually app for a new account, the pre-qual site will at least tell you which cards you are good for and what the interest rate will be.  That's actually what pushed me into 'taking the plunge'; once I saw that I wouldn't get the highest rate as I had feared would be the case (they gave me a not-great-but-not-horrible 17.9%) it made me pull the trigger.  As a side-note, the interest rate offered on the pre-qual was spot-on with what I was actually given on my new account. If the rate is higher than you would like, or you don't get offered that Venture, you can always try back later.  Or if you get pre-qual'd for a fantastic rate, you can still wait and know you have something to look forward to.  Even more importantly, you'll know that all the calling and emailing for the account you presently have is because you want to, not because you are forced to... Whatever you decide, you have to do what's right for your situation and your personal plan.

  • ADDING WEBSITES FROM OTHER COMPUTERS TO ONE COMPUTERS

HELLO ALL I DO HOPE YOU CAN HELP ME. I AM A TEACHER IN COLORADO AND 4 OF MY STUDENTS ARE GOING TO BE IN A WEBSITE DESIGN COMPETITION. WHAT I NEED TO DO IS THIS, THE GIRLS CREATED ALL OF THEIR SITES ON SEPARATE MACHINES AND I WOULD LIKE TO PUT THEM ALL ON ONE MACHINE AND PUBLISH THEM TO MY .MAC ACCOUNT. I KNOW THAT I CAN GRAB THEIR DOMAIN FILES FROM THEIR INDIVIDUAL MACHINES BUT HOW DO MOVE THEM ONTO ONE MACHINE WITH OUT THE NEW DOMAIN CANCELING OUT WHAT WAS ON THE OLD ONE OR WILL THEY OVER-RIDE THEM? ANY HELP YOU CAN GIVE ME I WILL APPRECIATE.

    Hello again,
don't worry about about the caps, it's alright
And no problem about newer and older version forum...
The only thing that will change is that opening the domain file of the one girl that used iWeb '06 iWeb '08 will ask you to update/upgrade the Domain.sites ('06) format file to '08 format file (Domain.sites2). You just should click on Upgrade and that should do it... Some people experienced some problems while doing that (objects not in the right location anymore or slightly moved and so on) check if it's ok and have a backup of that domain in case something goes wrong in the process (it shouldn't, but you never know...) be sure to have iWeb updated (latest version: 2.0.3)
Once you have all of them on one computer double clicking on one domain file will bring up the site contained in that domain file. (Girl1.sites2 will show Girl1's site in iWeb)
You could also merge them into one Domain.sites2 file using iWebSites ( http://mistergregg.com/cocoadrillosoftware/iWebSites/ ) if you want (again be sure to have a Backup of all of them in case something goes wrong, it shouldn't but again one can never know) for doing that in iWeb itself all sites should be named differently (name displaying at the top of the pages browser on the left in iWeb). This way they would show up all at the same time in iWeb.

  • Capital One EO CLI!!!

So I recently got my Cap One QS card with a $500 limit. Initially upon opening I had to send verification of address and SSN. Well I was approved with pretty much bad credit including bk7 from 2010 and other silly collections. So after about a month I requested a CLI with EO office and no sucess and was told to try back in a few months I am in the credit step program.  So I tried again online last week and they said they will review so I immediatley called the EO office and was told that it was denied because of too many inquiries...and all the other negative things. But I told the woman the form online said they tried to contact me I guess I had an alert. So I was advised to take the fraud alert off my report which I called and did and called them back for a manual review.  After three days I went online and seen they had a request for proof of income verification I had put $126k. I sent paystubs from one job, a letter from the other and bank statment showing total deposits...blah blah blah.... soooooooo just a minute ago I decided to double check my cap one account and I was hoping I'd fall out of my chair since I felt like chances were good since they requested additional information.  AND GUESS WHAT!!!! BAM $ 1500. LOL it may not seem like much to some but it sure was for me since that card was over limit (dont ask or judge).  So I am super excited now! and thats my story lol.

Thing is majority of the people skip the CSR and go right to the EO. The reason we shame it is because the executive office is for serious matters such as identity theft, wrong credit reporting information, fraud charges or account closure issues. It's not for getting a $500 on a platinum card. Ever notice the majority of people using EO is for a ridiculous CLI of no more than $1-2k? This is going to lead to the EO shutting down numbers and emails for people who actually need it.  I think of it like this. Would you skip over your manager and their manager and go straight to your CEO to ask for a raise? Probably hell no.Yes, I understand the point being made, however, consider the following: - myFICO is a small sample size of the MILLIONS of people who have access to the EO. We often convince ourselves on this forum that we're evidence of trends - but we're not. Reason being is...- we're also self-selecting. These is a particularly aggressive, educated group of consumers - not Joe Blow. Half the CSRs don't know what strategies are commonplace here.- you very well may also be hearing about the CLI contact more often than its actual frequency as compared to other issues (highly likely, in fact)- if the EO truly had no interest in ever dealing with CLI...they just wouldn't. The precedent for credo card companies telling us to shove off is pretty tangible.  Just try try to keep in mind - as I've said on other topics - the world of credit is almost entirely YMMV. Seems very arrogant to me that some myFICO forum folks have decided they know all the "rules," when the rules in most cases are just unwritten policies that change as the wind blows. The EO email and number is not publicly available. Is it on their Cap 1 site under contact us? No. When you Google "Capital One Executive Office" this site is the first hit. This site is also linked in FlyerTalk Forums and Reddit. These sites can reach globally. So please, see the bigger picture than the same 10 people who post in threads. And this site is notorious for assisting in getting things stopped or shut down. The Duck card, the Discover CLI, the Cap 1 EO and a few others. I know people won't stop using it for a useless CLI on a card but that means I can't stop posting my distaste for it. I'm not going to argue with you. You're entitled to your opinion - regardess of if I agree or not - but I'm just trying to point out the other side. This is a great site for information, and you're right: it's very informative and influences are fair number of people. However, your very argument is ironically a precise example of what I'm saying: you think what happens on this site is exclusively responsible for those issues. Seems arrogant to me. • Double cd imported in reverse

I've recently re-imported my CD collection into itunes on my MAC (had a Dell before). One particular double cd keeps getting imported in reverse, i.e. when I click on the songs and artists I'm seeing...that i know are on cd 1...a completely different set of songs are played..the list from cd 2.  So the correct order, correct song linked to correct artist....but what you see is not what you get....it's like playing the A side of a record but hearing side B instead, I guess. I didn't have this problem before on the other computer...is my only option to manually rename each song and artist? (36 songs)?

I'm going to answer my own question. Insert the CD. If the problem i mentioned remains, iTunes will still display the song tracks in a language that you do not prefer. Highlight all the songs (before importing) and click "Advanced" on your menu bar and then click "Get CD Track Names". You should then be presented with the dialog box you were given before. Pick the opposite (or another depending on how many options you are given) and this should changed your track names to the proper language. I am awesome.

I have a Tipowerbook 867 (upgraded to 512 ram) that's a bit over two and a half years old. Over this two plus year period, I have used this powerbook quite a lot, pretty much every single day for several hours at a minimum. Well, the other day when I was picking it up off a chair, it half slipped out of my hand, and before I could catch it the left hinge hit the floor pretty good, and the little part of the hinge that goes up into the display is now pulled out, and the hinge does not rotate. This also exacerbated some small stress cracks in the light grey outer case of the bottom part right beneath the same hinge. Apple gave me a quote of about 600 dollars to fix it. I also plan to call around to some third party places to see if they can do it cheaper, but do not expect it to be less then 3-400 to get it fixed. If I did get it fixed, I would also want to buy a new battery as well (a cost of around $120), as the one I have currently is at 581 cycles, and does not last very long any more. This computer also has little things wrong that don't bother me overly much, but I still notice from time to time, like 2 or 3 little scratches on the screen and one longer one, plus it seems to have gained a dead pixel or two recently.
Now, the decision I'm trying to make is whether it would be better to get this one repaired, or whether to just try and sell it for whatever it gets (a couple hundred dollars plus, I figure?), and buy one of the new 1.67ghz modals for $1899 (including apple care)taxa gig of ram.
If I got the current one repaired, I could see it lasting another 6 months or year, but probably not longer then that. The advantages I see in the new one are:
    Double the processor speed,
    Quadruple the graphics card memory,
Triple the ram (I sometimes feel like this one has too little, but don't want to put more in it cause I'd have to trash one of the sticks in it, which reduces the net gain quite a bit, so I figure I'll just stick another gig in the new one, if I get it)
the bigger screen res (I use the entire screen most of the time currently, and I have good eyesight, so I see this as a good thing)
The larger HD (not a big deal, but I have been running into the upper limit of this one from time to time, but not without crap I can delete to free up space)
The stuff like the firewire 800 port, usb 2.0 port, and airport extreme card I see as nice, but not a real big deal to me, as I probably wouldn't get much use out of them in the near future.
The two finger scrolling thing might be helpful, but I use a little shareware program called sidetrack currently, which gives me similar results.
The powerbooks were updated recently, and so will probably remain current a little bit longer.
It seems like a decent time in regard to the intel transition, since most (or at least some) of the bugs and incompatibilities will probably be worked out by the time I need to buy a new one.
So, I see lots of pluses to getting a new one, but am not sure if there are 13 or 14 hundred dollars worth of plusses.
If I do get a new computer, it will definitely be a powerbook, because I love being able to spend most of my time on the computer from my bed, and also being able to go upstairs and sit next to my dad on the couch and surf the web from there, and an ibook wouldn't do it for me, since I use the entire screen currently for various programs.
The programs that I use most frequently are things like safari, ichat, mail, word, etc, but I do acquire a penchant for game playing from time to time, and suspect that this might make a resurgence if I did buy a new one--it would be nice to be able to play something like America's Army or UT2k4 with an actually playable frame rate (I don't even really care about the quality of the graphics, as long as it's playable).
I also have considered trying out things like 3d modeling and messing about with imovie to see what I came up with, but am not sure how much those would benefit from the new computer.
I am currently a freshman at a local junior college, and think it's fairly likely that I'll transfer to a four year collage down the road in 2-3 years.
So basically, my decision comes down to this: Do I repair this one, and hope it lasts 6-12 months more, at which point I probably buy the current 15" powerbook, or do I spring for the new one now, and hope it serves my needs for the next 3 or so years down the road.
I'm sort of drawn to the new one, but also can't see anything terribly wrong with this one, and think that it might serve the majority of my needs (but possibly fewer of my wants) for a year or so to come.
The money is not a huge issue to me, I'll have to pay it sometime, and I was already planning to try to get a side job refereeing fencing tournaments for a bit of extra cash.
The way I lean on this decision depends on when you ask me, it varies from really deciding that I'd like and enjoy the new one to feeling like it would be kind of silly and it would be better to wait, but not liking having to repair this one to gain back what I already had.
Anybody have any helpful suggestions or comments that might help to tip me one direction or the other?
    -Larry
P.S. Thanks for reading my somewhat long winded post, I'm the kind of person who really likes trying to quantify everything I can, and so I did.

    Ok.
For starters, there is a Titanium thread, where you can get some more help, but my main Mac is a Ti, so let's get to it.
    the hinge does not rotate
This is common on older TiBooks. I pray everytime I open mine.
to be less then 3-400 to get it fixed
    Seems about right.
sell it for whatever it gets
Ebay is the place to go for current value on older technology. You will get the best price there as well. Look around eBay for similar models, with hinge damage like yours.
Frankly, the new Powerbooks are really nice. My roomate has one, and they are much studier than these TiBooks. You will not be disappointed. I would wait until MacExpo the 2nd week of January to see what Apple has to pull out of their hat as far as possible Powerbook or iBook options. No one knows for sure what--if any--new products will be released in the near future.
Larry, what do you do on the Mac? What do you need from it? You can pick up an iBook for as little as $999. You can also look online at the Apple Store refurbs (A link on the Apple Store site will take you there) for cheaper models.
I think your Ti has seen a good life... I vote for moving on.
