Capture ssh sessions in the background

Hi together,
i would like to capture all ssh-session (hidden in the background) on a solaris 10 server.
I hade some tries with /usr/bin/script -a <somewhere> in the .bash_profile but this is not what i need. e.g. "exit" exits the script and not the session.
do you have some clever idea how to solve the issue?
i can�t find any helpful tool.

No, i have a System where some users get the possibility to access the server by ssh. To have a control, what the user did - and do have a verification when he did something wrong - i would like to have a possibility to see what he did within the session (e.g. editing a configfile) I had some tries with "script" and other little OS-tools but, i was�nt able to find a perfect sollution.
Perfect meens - it�works and it is not vissible for the user.

If you need to submit a BDC session in the background you can use report RSBDCSUB. It takes the bBDC session name as input and will run it through the system again for you in the background.

Watching debug via ssh session to the WLC

Hi,
I am quite new to wireless side and had a small Q regarding watching debug output while i am ssh to the WLC? I tried the other day and did not see any messages, now this could be for the reason that nothing triggered or perhaps it needs something like terminal monitor?? i couldnt find any such command.
my WLC is 5508 running 7.3 version.

I'm developing a test system that reqiures that I run a TCP/IP session in the background while running TestStand. How could I incorporate this TCPIP vi into the TestStand Operator Interface ?

Mal,
If you have the LabVIEW Operator Interace, you can place your TCP/IP Vi anywhere you want. Either at the beginning of the execution, when a particular sequence is running, when a user logs in, etc. Since you have the LV code, you can just add your TCP/IP as a subVI in the right place. You could also place a button in the front panel that will allow you to CONNECT/DISCONNECT by calling your VIs.

I suggest you to upgrade to 4.2(3) where it says it has been fixed that and other similar bugs.

How to run the Batch input session(SM35) in background thru Report program

Hi Experts,
I am working in one modification report requirement ,the report is Mass upload will update and run the file via batch input session. The client requirement is to implement the report execution in background mode , the batch input session will process automatically (ie. the job runs the batch input session in background and process the session ends).
Currently, the report calls SM35 to write a batch input session and the user manually selects the session and record the transactions.
Once the Transaction enters and the selection-screen inputs are given, then the transaction executed in background mode and all the above batch input process to be implemented.
Please advise and guide me, how to proceed.
I need your guidance to proceed via Call transaction using bdcdata statement, if it can be achieved the requirement.

I know the process of the report Execution in background and job steps.
I want the inputs for how to upload thru Batch input session in background job and the session should also processed automatically
Currently the report logic declared like call transaction 'SM35' and skip first screen.Once the report (tcode) executed (not in background) It writes one session in SM35. The user should select the session and process the transaction manually.
The new requirement is, if the report (tcode) executes in background mode...what and how the batch input session should be declared and how it process automatically (like you said mode 'N').
Hope I am clear in my query.
Please advise.

Its better to use DMV's to view only active sessions from users (spid>50) as mentioned by Shanky.
You can do that using sp_who2 but it requires a bit of programming to list only user sessions.

FP.Get Image method does not capture the background image

The attached VI (8.5) demonstrates the issue nicely - the background image is not included in the image captured by the FP.Get Image method.
Workaround - don't use the background image if you want to capture the FP like this - paste your image in the background or use a picture control.

Capture keystrokes while VI running in the background.

I have a VI that needs to run in the background, however I need it to be able to recognize a certain string when typed in on the keyboard, actually it's a barcode reader - same difference. I have tried to use the keyboard.zip file from the ftp site however the VI's don't seem to work unless they are in focus. How do I do this with the program running in the background??

Get the VI called Get Keys.vi (or something alike) from our online (free)
library, www.air.nl. Maybe it needs some small modifications, but it should
do the job.
However, barcode scanners are not exactly the same as user input. In theory,
yes, in practice, no. Problem is they are very fast. So, you have to scan
the keyboard very fast. Probably too fast (e.g. it's not possible to obtain
all characters from the scanner).
Fortunatlly barcode scanners often have possibilities to add a delay between
characters. Set to a delay of 50 ms (or experiment, until perfect..) and it
should work.
The VI gets keys even if another application is active.

Urxvt in the background is not transparent

and hoped that on restart I will have nice pseudo-transparent urxvt on the background...It worked for a while but after another fiddling with rc.xml and .Xdefaults and restarting X it simply stopped working and the "RootURxvt" simply looks like normal urxvt without decor. I browsed the forums, tried "xrdb -merge" and restaring X and looked on the .Xdefaults and rc.xml files million times but I can't find what's wrong.
I could appreciate any help, I'm new to all this X resource stuff, maybe I just made some braindead mistake

Well, I didn't consider it, because I thought that for my application (borderless urxvt terminal embedded in background below all other app windows) the pseudo-transparency aka. "Inherit Pixmap" function implemented in urxvt (I hope I got that right ) could be sufficient.
I also thought that creating a new name "RootURxvt" in the class "URxvt" in the .Xdefaults file would allow me to have two types of urxvt terms running (terminal in the root window and normal "opaque" windowed terminals).

How to cancel the background job processing in ABAP programming?

I have a requirement where i need to cancel the job depending on some constraint. My code is something like this:
Select some data from the table.
if sy-subrc = 0.
Do nothing.
Else
Cancel the job
call function 'BP_JOB_ABORT'
exporting
 jobcount = number
 jobname = name
EXCEPTIONS
 CHECKING_OF_JOB_HAS_FAILED = 1
 JOB_ABORT_HAS_FAILED = 2
 JOB_DOES_NOT_EXIST = 3
 JOB_IS_NOT_ACTIVE = 4
 NO_ABORT_PRIVILEGE_GIVEN = 5
 OTHERS = 6
The above code is cancelling the job but it is throwing an exception called CX_SY_DYN_CALL_PARAM_MISSING because i dint pass job count. How can we find the job count of next job that is going to run? Or How to handle the exception which it is throwing. Even if i try to handle that exception something like this:

It avoids the exception but it doesnt cancel the job. I even tried with function modules like JOB_OPEN
JOB_SUBMIT,BP_JOB_SELECT,BP_JOB_ABORT and tried to build some logic using status overview table (TBTCO) and TBTCP (Jobstep overview table).
Can someone suggest me the right way to write this program ?

Problem is solved.
Create an background job with 2 steps. The first step in the background job calls the program ZBACKJOB_STEP1. In the variant we have a wrong material number
If the material number is not found in Mara, the next step in the job should not get executed and the job should get cancelled..
In the above posts i had asked how do I get the job count of the job that is currently triggering the program at the runtimeu2026..If u see the below code uu2019ll get to know.. We have to use the standard structure TBTCM which captures the properties/characteristics of the job.

Schedule measurement in SE30 - running a report in the background

Dear experts,
I have a long running ABAP report and I will need to analyze its runtime for performance improvements.
How may I correctly run this ABAP report in the background from SE30 (runtime analysis tool)? The report has to be run using a specific variant for its selection screen inputs as well.
This is what I have done:
1. Go to SE30
2. Click on "For User/Service" button under "Schedule"
3. Create new Schedule Measurement with the following details:-
- User (<my user name>),
- Client (<properly specified>),
- External Session (Any),
- Processing Category (Background Processing),
- Object Type (Report),
- Object Name (<ABAP report program name>),
- Max. No. of Scheduled Measurements (1),
- Expiration Date & Time (<properly specified>)
5. In the screen "Overview of Scheduled Measurements", I have the following displayed as well:-
- Scheduled = 1
- Started = 0
- Errors = 0
- Status = Being processed
Am I still on the right track here? (Started = 0 and there was no way I could specify the variant for the selection screen input values too)
Please help. Appreciate any inputs at all.

you can try it with ST12 and the <ALL Servers> Option for tasktype B.

ST12 uses SE30 / ST05 behind the covers. But here you can switch on
the trace for all servers and therefore don't have to take care for that yourself.

How to execute a procedure in the same db session of the framework page

i am using oaframework personalization to create a link. when the link is clicked i will execute a database procedure using /psl/DAD/procedurename. currently when the user clicks on the link it will get executed in separate database session.
but i want execute the procedure in the db session on the current oa page. is there a way to achive this.

You can do this, create a simple stackLayout region, add an AM, Controller to it. Add a submit button or link with fireAction set on it. Write a method in your AM and call it from your controller's processFormRequest by capturing the button or link event. In the AM method you can invoke the procedure. Use personalization and attach the region to the page.

Screen Sharing and SSH sessions freeze occasionally on multiple mac minis

I have 28 Mac Minis at work. With such a large number of minis, I obviously can't have a monitor attached to each of them so I've got them plugged into a network switch and access them via Screen Sharing (both via regular Screen Sharing and ARD) and SSH sessions.
A few of them seem to suffer from intermittent problems however. I'll be using Screen Sharing when the session freezes. It may unfreeze eventually, but I can also usually just quit out and re-connect and it will be unfrozen. The same thing happens when I'm connected via SSH, it will freeze and I won't be able to type in any more commands.
I need help troubleshooting (or if anyone knows what could be causing this, that'd be cool too).
I've tried connecting from both a Mac Pro on the wired network and a MacBook Pro on the wireless network. The freezing seems to only happen on certain Mac Minis as well.
I've tried switching network cables from a Mac Mini that doesn't suffer from this problem with one that does and nothing changed.
I also thought it might be a bandwidth issue at first, despite being a gigabit switch connected via cat6 to the rest of our gigabit network, but even when no significant bandwidth is being used, the freezing still occurs.
One more thing I want to test is the connection between the switch all these Mac Minis is plugged into and one of the other switches that all our other network traffic goes through. I didn't set it up myself so I fear that it might be an old, damaged cable or something. Failing that, I have no idea what the problem could be, which is why I'm posting here.
So, does anyone have any idea what the problem could be? Or any other ideas for troubleshooting the problem? Thanks.
(They're all running 10.6.8, and range from Mid-2007 to 2009 models).

It would be in the system log. However, the next step would be to safe-boot in order to eliminate third-party system modifications. That goes for both client and server. If you can reproduce the problem in safe mode, then you probably have a network issue. Take everything offline except one client and one server, and test.
