Carriage return on the portal displays as # on the smartform
Hi,
I am creating an invoice through the portal. In the portal I enter three lines of text for billing header text. After each line I hit a ENTER.
When I view the invoice the three lines in the header text are displayed allright however when I try viewing the invoice on a smartform , i see that each of the ENTER after every line shows a ## i.e.
LINE1##LINE2##LINE3.
The function module being used to read the text is READ TEXTINLINE and I have narrowed down the problem to this function module. Data by this module is being read from the text memory and reads in the format above. I need to either use another function module or need to format or convert the data as required (without the #'s) . Please let me know the best strategy and how to implement it.
Thanks in advance.
Hi,
Use the SPLIT V_STRING AT CL_ABAP_CHAR_UTILITIES=>CR_LF.
Ex.
DATA: V_STRING.
DATA: LT_STRING TYPE STRING OCCURS 0 WITH HEADER LINE.
SPLIT V_STRING AT CL_ABAP_CHAR_UTILITIES=>CR_LF
INTO TABLE LT_STRING.

To begin with, in file-explorer (.\system32\explorer.exe) normally, the new ribbon user interface in Win 8.1 does indeed display appropriate buttons depending on the currently displayed folder within the explorer.exe window.
But when one re-parents the explorer window handle to any window handle other than 0000 (desktop's window handle), then the UIRibbon fails to do so.
You might ask 'Who does that ?' and I would say no-one usually, however I use BrightExplorer which
is a great little app that gives me a tabbed file-explorer experience.
Now, this app works fine since Windows 7, but with Windows 8 the file explorer introduced the new UIRibbon in its UI. It's that new UIRibbon that gets confused by what I think may be be caused by the re-parenting that BrightExplorer does
to pull a file explorer session into its tabbed control.
This phenomenon relates to Windows 8 + and is observed only by doing the following steps:
Download BrightExplorer from BrightNewWorlds.com by going here: BrightExplorer,
In the address bar go to This PC,
then go to any other folder and note that the UIRibbon is not keeping track of the changing folder selections.
Does anyone out there feel that they can do something about this, or have advise?
Kind regards,

Switching to the cinema display by closing the macbook air
the nice feature of switching to the cinema display by closing the macbook air and reopening it to use the keyboard with a black (mb air-)screen -e.g.for shortcuts in CS5 or Cad -doesn't work any longer using OS X Lion which is quite annoying. Has anyone found a solution for this problem apart from the 'option with the magnet' ?
this keyboard shortcut puts both displays in hibernation mode
is there a keyboard shortcut which only puts the macbook (air) screen ( under Lion) to sleep ?
if not, this would be a helpful update for everyone using the mac with photoshop or autocad where keyboard shortcuts are constantly needed and handling would be far easier with all windows & task bars on the cinema display only.
Alternatively, has anyone a clue how to put the task bar from the macbook screen to the cinema display ?I dont know about the putting the screens to sleep, but as far as the task bar goes, when you have both screens running you can go in to display settings and you should see both screens, you can drag the task bar from the air screen to the cinema display.

I recently connected my new MBA to an ACER display using the appropriate Apple hardware to connect to a VGA port. The quality of the ACER display is poor- the image is not clear. How do I achieve the same clarity of picture as my MBA screen?
Welcome to the Apple Community.
AirPlay Mirroring requires a second-generation Apple TV or later, OS X 10.8 or better and is supported on the following Mac models: iMac (Mid 2011 or newer), Mac mini (Mid 2011 or newer), MacBook Air (Mid 2011 or newer), and MacBook Pro (Early 2011 or newer).
On the basis of the specifications you have given for your set up, mirroring should work. -

Is it possible to have the lid open on a MacBook Pro connected to a Cinema Display and have the Mac display blank with the Cinema in highest definition?
Hi,
Create a play list that you wish to burn. Select playlist, the file from main menu which gives to an option to burn the playlist. A pop up box appears allowing you to select burn speed and disc format.
Jim -
So I have been using my iPad for a few months now and I recently noticed that the time display next to the playlist name in the music app that is supposed to display the total song count and time of a playlist is way off. I have a 25 song playlist that is around 2 hours on my computer appears as 2003 minutes on my iPad. It's a smart playlist limited to 25 songs if that makes any difference. Is this happening to anyone else? Any help would be appreciated!
Greetings,
First make an iCal backup, File > Export > Archive.
Remove the following to the trash and restart your computer:
Home > Library > Caches
Home > Library > Calendars > Calendar Cache, Cache, Cache 1, 2, 3, etc. (Do not remove Sync Cache or Theme Cache)
Home > Library > Preferences > com.apple.ical (There may be more than one of these. Remove them all.)
__NOTE: Removing these files will remove any shared (CalDAV) calendars you may have access to. You will have to re-add those calendars to iCal > Preferences > Accounts.
Once the computer is back up and running open iCal and test.
Hope that helps. -
Problem with the icon "Display query on the web" in Query Designer
Hi Friends,
I was told by my PM to give them all FI Modules standard business contenet reports, so for that reason i have installed all FI business content & loaded the data in the Dev Server, now i just want to show the reports, but i want excute these reports in Internet Explorer using the Icon "Display Query on the WEB" in query designer, when i click on that it isn't getting displayed in the browser.
the URL coming like this, "http://itcchqbd:8100/sap/bw/BEx?sap-language=EN&bsplanguage=EN&CMD=LDOC&INFOCUBE=0FIAA_C11&QUERY=0FIAA_C11_Q0001&VARIABLE_SCREEN=X&DUMMY=1"
getting the message in the page, the page can't be displayed,
How to solve this problem & how do i have to show the standard business content reports to all FI Superiors ?
awaiting for ur answers
Regards,
BalajiBalaji,
first check if you have enabled web reporting on your BW server ( there is a how to paper for the same )
another way to check out the same is to find out if there are existing web templates being published which would make the server web ready.
As for FI content - activate the FI relevant areas in Business content and then activate the respective datasources and then load the data.. or go trough the best practices for BW-FI ( service.sap.com/bestpractices) wnd then activate the best practices for the same.
Hope it helps.

How to solve the image display problem in the iTunes Store
Hi guys!
I just want to give a work-around for all of you having the image display problem in the iTunes Store. In my case only the square images in the slider sections won't load:
I had this in my last W7-installation and got it again in W8 after the first few weeks.
There are a lot of reports about this problem out there and adhoc solutions like 'clear the cache' or 'reinstall and drink ice tea' that do not work. It is obviously a file request error. It is all about finding out which server addresses get blocked by your computer.
Solution: Go to your firewall and your Anti-virus-program. There must be a whitelist option. In Kaspersky, check the web-options, the banner-options and the firewall-options, because the all have whitelists. The following addresses have to be whitelisted:
*.apple
*.mzstatic.apple.com.akadns.net
*.mzstatic.com.edgesuite.net
*.da1.akamai.net
*.itunes.apple.com
se.itunes.apple.com
upp.itunes.apple.com
ax.init.itunes.apple.com
xp.apple.com
*.mzstatic.com
client-api.itunes.apple.com
www.apple.com.edgekey.net
www.isg-apple.com.akadns.net
Press Ctrl + R in the iTunes Shop then and browse throught the music sections. All images should be displayed correctly now.
If not, there might be more Apple servers involved in your case. You can find them by running a DNS sniffing tool like the DNS query sniffer by Nirsoft or Wireshark.Phone restarting randomly could be loose battery. Tighten by putting a small strip of electrical tape on the back edge.

I have 3 airport express units, an Ipod and a Windows 7 PC. I used the PC to set up an iTunes/airTunes and the AirUtility can see all three of the expresses. The Ipod displays all of the expresses and I can pick any one to stream music to. The PC won't - any ideas? AirUtility tells me the 7.5.2 version of the firmware is the latest for the expresses and ITunes is also reporting that there are no upgrades available. I get an error code -15000 when I try to connect from the PC to one of the expresses.
How do I configure the AX to connect to the hub's wireless network? It will only scan one base station Airport Express at a time in the Airport Utility. I think what I am trying to do is use the hub as a router to the two AX's. Is there a specific way to set this up?
To set up the AX to join a wireless network as a "Wireless Client," using the AirPort Utility, either connect to the AX's wireless network or temporarily connect your computer directly (using an Ethernet cable) to the Ethernet port of the AX, and then, try these settings:
Launch the AirPort Utility.
Select the AX.
If not already connected to the AX's wireless network, go ahead and switch to it when prompted.
AirPort Utility > Select the AX > Manual Setup > AirPort > Wireless
Wireless Mode: Join a wireless network
Network Name: <type in the network name/SSID of the wireless network that you want to join or select it from the pop-up menu>
Wireless Security: None OR, if you are using security on your wireless network:
Wireless Security: <Select the appropriate level of security for the existing wireless network: WPA/WPA2 Personal | WPA2 Personal>
Password: <enter your wireless network security password>
Verify Password: <re-enter the same security password>
Click Update to write the new settings to the AX. -
WHENEVER I TRY TO SWITCH ON MY APPLE iPod TOUCH 2G 8Gb , ALL I GET IS JUST THE SCREEN DISPLAYING " CONNECT TO THE iTunes " . WHAT SHOULD I DO ???
Do just that. Connect it iTunes and restore it as it appears there is a software issue with the device.

Hi guys, I am trying to read a variant data using VISA READ. The VISA READ is set to terminate reading when it sees a carriage return.
Is there a chance that for the CR "encapsulated" within the variant be read by the VISA READ, and cause it to terminate?
Cheers!
Solved!
Go to Solution.Since with the Flatten to String you are basically sending a binary representation of the data, you are going to have problems if you have the termination character enabled since byte 13 would be part of perfectly valid data and not just represent the end of a transmission.
What you might want to do is disable the termination character. Of course now you don't know how many bytes to read. So prepend your message to write with the number of bytes that are a part of the message (string length). You may want to use two bytes, (one byte would only give you messages up to 255 characters in length.)
Now on your reading end, read 2 bytes, convert them to a number and feed that number in the next VISA read which will then read that many bytes.
For examples, look at the TCP/IP read write examples in the example finder and you'll see how they send a message with 4 bytes to tell how much data makes up the rest of the message. -
Adding Portlet at Runtime to the Portal, displaying Empty Error Message Box
Hi All,
I had developed a Webcenter Portal Application, in which i had included runtime editing capabilities for pages and customization at user level - deployed successfully in PS5 Server.
I also made another simple Portlet Producer Application - deployed successfully in PS5 Server.
While, i try to register the Portlet in the Portal application at runtime, through Portal Console - Successfully tested the connection and registered.
But, when i try to add the registered Portlet to Portal Page at runtime, through Portal Console - Failure with Empty Error Message Box popup.
Further analyzed the Managed Server logs of both WC_CustomPortal and WC_CustomServicesProducer. Both the logs are pointing to same Exception.
Kindly provide your inputs on this.
Thanks in advance.
PFB the details.

How to change the Group Display Name in the UME?
Hello experts,
from time to time due to reorganisation our departments group names change.
So far this was a big deal because it is not possible to change the Display Name of a group created in the Portal´s UME?
So far a new group with the department name has to be created and all group members have to be connected to the new group again. This is not a convenient way..
Is there a way to configure the UME to allow to modify the Display Names of Groups?
Thanks in advance.
Thomas
Edited by: Thomas Krynicki on Jan 19, 2009 5:15 PMThank you for the quick answer.
However my problem is still not solved.
I am using the portal groups also as permission objects for KM. That´s why I do not want to create a new group because the new one will not appear in the ACLs of the KM Objects.
For me it is important to modify the Display Name of an existing Group. The GroupID shall not change. The new Display Name should be updated then automatically in the ACLs of KM Objects in question.
By exporting the group data:
[group]
gid=TeamA
gdesc=All members of Team A
user=member1, member2
There is no parameter for changing the Display Name of the group. There is only the Description Parameter.
So far I didn´t find any solution.
Any other ideas.
Thanks in advance.
