CAS fails when subtracting negative numbers from stack

The CAS fails to subtract negative numbers. Here is how to reproduce such errors:1) generate a negative number from any operation1 - 22) subtract any number from this previous result2.1) enter any value12.2) press the subtract key, select the previous value from the stack, and copy it- (touch the previous "-1" which results from "1 - 2") (touch "copy")2.3) press ENTER Other variation:cos(-π)*ENTER*, results in -11 --1*ENTER* The issue is negative numbers are being preceded by a subtraction sign instead of a negative sign, and both are treated differently by the software. The bug does not occur in home mode.

Hello, Maké, Thank you! My report is that of a bug, not a device misuse. Particularly, a(nother) CAS bug. HP Prime's CAS is substituting binary subtraction signs for negative signs when printing results. Entering -1 in Home yedls -1, while in CAS one gets −1. See: the lengh of the dash symbol is different. Kind regards.

  • Oarcle Lite cannot subtract negative numbers from date

    Hello
    we have a very strange problem. We have a query that need to convert times between different timezones. So, we have
    In Oracle lite, the query
    select sysdate - (-60/1440) nd from dual returns sysdate + 2 - 60/1440.
    Whenever a negative fraction is subtracted from date, it always adds two days and then adds the fraction. Looks like negative of a negative fraction is not handled correctly in oracle lite.
    Did anyone encounter this problem? We have the system in production and wondering if anyone found a solution.
    Thanks

    HI sd,
    I suspect there's a simpler way, but this works, as seen in the example. Start and finish times are both incremented by one day as the data and formula are filled down the columns to show the effect of crossing the weekend days. Formula (as it appears in row 7) is shown above the table. The Row 2 version is copied below. Cels in column D are formatted as shown in the Inspector.
    D2: =NETWORKDAYS(B2,C2,)+DURATION(,,24*(DUR2DAYS(C2-B2)-INT(DUR2DAYS(C2-B2))),,,)

  • APP-V 5: Powershell: "New-AppVSequencerPackage" fails when Reboot is needed from Software

    Hi,
    I am trying to automate the process of sequencing an application using a powershell-script.
    Here's the Powershell-Script:
    New-AppvSequencerPackage -FullLoad -Installer $Setup -Name
    $Name -Path $SavePath -PrimaryVirtualApplicationDirectory $PVAD -TemplateFilePath
    $Template  -Verbose
    The Variables are set earlier in the Script.
    This script works perfect to automatically sequence Applications, but as soon as there is an Application needing a Restart, the automated sequencing fails.
     The machine starts the shutdown-process and kills all running applications (including the Powershell-Script).
    After the machine has rebooted the Sequencing-Process is supposed to resume from the point it stopped right before shutting down, but this is not the case. Instead nothing happens after restarting.
    If the Sequencer-GUI (Startmenu) is being used, the machine starts the GUI and the sequencing process after rebooting without any user-interaction.
    Since all App-V commands are powershell-driven, how come the Sequencing doesn't resume when using the script?

    Hi,
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/gladiatormsft/archive/2014/09/30/app-v-5-on-why-the-app-v-5-sequencer-really-reboots.aspx indicates
    that the command line Sequencer does not support reboot operations during the Sequencing process.

    Hi Don, here's my guess...
    The 901 number is additional space added in the scripts. This indicates that the source image size was 0.
    Since you are making a NetBoot from Install media, under the covers the installer process is being run to create a NetBoot volume. The media shipped with the 27" iMac is most likely CPU specific and thus the installation fails because you are trying to create the image (i.e. install the system) on an unsupported CPU.
    In order to produce a NetBoot from the install media, you'll have to create it on the 27" iMac.
    Hi Brian,
    Thanks for the response. This makes perfect sense. I'll give this a try and shout back!

  • RBDAPP01 fails when packetsize is changed from 1 to 35

    Hi,
    For posting J3amat Idocs parallely, RBDAPP01 is executed in background with packet size 35. It failes with an exception PARM_NOT_VALID while reading the function J_3A1_LESEN_MARC_SINGLE which is called by the program RBDAPP01. When changed back to single processing it ran sucessfully ofcourse with more exectuion time. Why it fails in parallel processing and how to run it parallely?
    Help on this highly appreciated.
    Thanks.
    Thripura.

    Changing the recovery model has no impact on replication.
    Please see:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms151740.aspx
    What recovery model is required on a replicated database?
    Replication functions properly using any of the recovery models: simple, bulk-logged, or full. Merge replication tracks change by storing information in metadata tables. Transactional replication tracks changes by marking the transaction log, but this marking
    process is not affected by the recovery model.

  • Displaying Positive/Negative numbers from a formula

    I have the following formula that looks similar to this..
    (Field1) - (Field2)
    when field 1 is smaller then field 2 we know that the number will be a negative and the report will print a negative sign in front of the number.
    Now here is the question, say (Field1) was equal to 10, and (Field2) was equal to 9 the formula would look like
    (10) - (9)
    and the report would print a positive 1.   Is there anyway to format the formula to display a Positive sign in front of the number if it is positive, and a negative in front of the number if it is negative?
    Thanks everyone for your help!

    Yes, that formula works for me.  I had to slightly modify the formula because it was printing two negative signs on ther report instead of one.  I think that may have been due to how I had my number formatting options set in Crystal.
    Here is the original formula:
    numbervar a:=0;
    a:=(Field1)-(Field2);
    if a >= 0 then
    "+" & (a) else " -" & (a);
    Then I changed it to be:
    numbervar a:=0;
    a:=({@JM_ClaimAmt})-({Reconciliation_GetReport;1.UPCClaimAmt});
    if a >= 0 then
    // Took out the negative sign here so it would not show negative twice.
    "+" & (a) else " " & (a);
    It works now, I'm happy

  • File Type Association fails when opening multiple files from Bridge to Premiere

    I'm running Vista 32 bit CS3 Bridge and Premiere.
    According to the Video workshop
    http://www.adobe.com/designcenter-archive/video_workshop/
    under Premiere > all 19 topics > Managing Media in Adobe Premiere Pro > at 02:46 it shows group selecting a bunch of quicktime files using Edit > Select all, then File > Open With ...the drop down shows Premiere.
    Mine only show Premiere if a single file is selected. If I multiple select, it only shows Quicktime Player 7.6.
    I've checked the file type association in preferences of Bridge to open these files in Premiere but it still only sees Premiere if a single file is selected.
    I've upgraded Bridge to 2.1.1.9 and set to run as Administrator but to no avail.
    Any ideas?

    Import has always worked fine. this is not the issue.
    I have now changed the file association in Vista, re-started Premiere and Bridge and then after having started just Premiere chose File > Browse and the selected all the .mov files and selected Open With. Hurrah! Premiere is now listed!
    However, If I continue the focus changes to Premiere but a warning appears "This file path does not exist on disk at this location".
    Nothing is imported. Unlike the video workshop mentioned above.
    If however, I chose Open and not Open with then the files are imported.
    Seems to be a bug with Open with with more than one file chosen. If a single file is chosen and Open With is applied then the focus changes to Premiere but no file is imported.
    I have seen the exact same problem in another discusion "Re: Bridge CS3: Not importing clips into Premiere CS3" (see the More Like This panel on the rightside of this window)

    Hi,
    For the error "The Network Adapter could not establish the connection" check and do the following:
    In  the Computer Management - Services, check if the Oracle*TNSListener is started. If not, restart the listener  and set the Startup Type to "Automatic".
    Also check whether the port number in listener.ora is correct ($ORACLE_HOME\network\admin\listener.ora) and updated during the installation.
    For other details run through SAP Note 786673
    Hope this helps.

  • Unit test runs perfectly fine with NUnit but fails when run from TestExplorer

    Hello all,
    I have a TestProject, Harmony.Tests. In there, I have a method AddApplicationEvent()

    Hi Tina,
    Thanks for your reply.
    I do have NUnit adapter installed. I even noticed that the test runs fine with NUnit GUI and also if I run it through Resharper Test Explorer window.
    As you can see in the image above the same test is passed when I ran it from Resharper Unit Test Explorer window but fails when I ran it from Test Explorer window. I also captured the information on fiddler.
    There was a significant difference in the Header Content length. Also under the User-Agent property the protocol versions are different.
    Not sure why VSTest ExecutionEngine is picking a different version.
    The UnitTest in question is calling a webservice method which in turn calls a method from another referenced project.

    Hello,
    I have implemented a code from this forum for sending documents to printer, as below, but although it works well in debug mode, it fails when I execute directly from SE38? Any idea?
    Best Regards,
    Didem GUNDOGDU

      SET PROPERTY OF gs_word 'Visible' = '0'.
      CALL METHOD OF gs_word 'Documents' = gs_documents .

      CALL METHOD OF gs_word 'ActiveDocument' = gs_actdoc.
      CALL METHOD OF gs_actdoc 'PrintOut'  .
      CALL METHOD OF gs_word 'Quit' .

    Hi Didem,
    Just a suggestion: could you print syst-subrc after each method call? Perhaps that can give you a clue.

  • Logical shift negative numbers

    So, I think i have found a bug in Labview.  I am using Labview 8.5
    I have a very very simple Vi Where i want to Right shift a negative number.  For example:
    -16 >> 2 = -4
    What i get is 16380.  If I mismatch the data types.  Meaning I right shift from a 16 integar and place the result into a 8 bit integar I get -4.
    It would appear that the function is padding with leading zeros and not ones when handling negative numbers.
    Is this an issue that has been fixed already?  Or am i using the function incorrectly?
    Attachments:
    Logical Shift bug.vi ‏7 KB

    Gruntboy,
         What I think you're looking for is an arithmetic shift function, while the function in Labview is a logical shift.  The difference is in the leading bit of the result when they shift a number to the right.  A logical shift right pads the numbers with '0's and an arithmetic shift right pads the numbers with their copies of their most significant bit.  This is very important when dealing with signed numbers, because the most significant bit (in standard two's complement notation) denotes whether or not a number is negative.
         The number four (4) represented in six bits would be: 000100, and in two's complement negative four (-4) would be 111100.
    A logical shift right, which pads the numbers with a '0' on the left would be:
    000100 --> 000010  (4 --> 2)
    111100 --> 011110  (-4 --> 30)
    An arithmetic shift right, which pads the numbers with whatever their most significant bit is would be:
    000100 --> 000010  (4 --> 2)
    111100 --> 111110  (-4 --> -2)
    I don't see  an arithmetic shift function in Labview, but you could build one by converting the number to an array of booleans and shifting to your heart's content.
    When operating on signed numbers Arithmetic shift operations tend to be more useful, but I'm sure there would be quite a bit of confusion if the unsigned number 60 ("111110") gets right shifted and becomes 127! ("111111").
    Finally, there is "one" (heh I'm so punny) special case for arithmetic shifting.  Consider how right shifting (logical and arithmetic) 8 results in 4, then 2, then 1, then 0.  What about arithmetic right shifting of -8?  The results would be -4, then -2, then -1...... then -1, then -1, then -1, etc.
    Worthwhile resources:

    P.S. I noticed that you mentioned you were modeling number operations of an ASIC.  This book (ISBN: 978-0534378042) was used in the Intro to Digital Logic class I took way too long ago, and I remember it hitting very hard on binary, signs and bit operations.  Looks like a used copy can be had on Amazon for less than $40

    Adobe Photoshop Elements 13 Direct Download Links, Premiere too | ProDesignTools
    And here is some info on that error code
    Error U44M1I210 | Install updates

  • Script fails when passing values from pl/sql to unix variable

    Script fails when passing values from pl/sql to unix variable
    Dear All,
    I am Automating STATSPACK reporting by modifying the sprepins.sql script.
    Using DBMS_JOB I take the snap of the database and at the end of the day the cron job creates the statspack report and emails it to me.
    I am storing the snapshot ids in the database and when running the report picking up the recent ids(begin snap and end snap).
    From the sprepins.sql script
    variable bid number;
    variable eid number;
    begin
    select begin_snap into :bid from db_snap;
    select end_snap into :eid from db_snap;
    end;
    This fails with the following error:
    DB Name DB Id Instance Inst Num Release Cluster Host

    But when I change the select statements below the report runs successfully.
    variable bid number;
    variable eid number;
    begin
    select '46' into :bid from db_snap;
    select '47' into :eid from db_snap;
    end;
    Even changing the select statements to:

    Does not help.
    Please Help.

    Hi,
    could it be the begin_ and end_ Colums of your query?
    Seems SQL*PLUS hs parsing problems?
    try to fetch another column from that table
    and see if the error raises again.

  • Conversion failed when converting date and/or time from character string

    Hi experts,
    I'm trying running a query in Microsoft Query but it gives the following error message:
    "conversion failed when converting date and/or time from character string"
    when asks me the data I'm inserting 31-01-2014
    i've copy the query form the forum:
    SELECT T1.CardCode, T1.CardName, T1.CreditLine, T0.RefDate, T0.Ref1 'Document Number',
         CASE  WHEN T0.TransType=13 THEN 'Invoice'
              WHEN T0.TransType=14 THEN 'Credit Note'
              WHEN T0.TransType=30 THEN 'Journal'
              WHEN T0.TransType=24 THEN 'Receipt'
              END AS 'Document Type',
         T0.DueDate, (T0.Debit- T0.Credit) 'Balance'
         ,ISNULL((SELECT T0.Debit-T0.Credit WHERE DateDiff(day, T0.DueDate,'[%1]')<=-1),0) 'Future'
         ,ISNULL((SELECT T0.Debit-T0.Credit WHERE DateDiff(day, T0.DueDate,'[%1]')>=0 and DateDiff(day, T0.DueDate,'[%1]')<=30),0) 'Current'
         ,ISNULL((SELECT T0.Debit-T0.Credit WHERE DateDiff(day, T0.DueDate,'[%1]')>30 and DateDiff(day, T0.DueDate,'[%1]')<=60),0) '31-60 Days'
         ,ISNULL((SELECT T0.Debit-T0.Credit WHERE DateDiff(day, T0.DueDate,'[%1]')>60 and DateDiff(day, T0.DueDate,'[%1]')<=90),0) '61-90 Days'
         ,ISNULL((SELECT T0.Debit-T0.Credit WHERE DateDiff(day, T0.DueDate,'[%1]')>90 and DateDiff(day, T0.DueDate,'[%1]')<=120),0) '91-120 Days'
         ,ISNULL((SELECT T0.Debit-T0.Credit WHERE DateDiff(day, T0.DueDate,'[%1]')>=121),0) '121+ Days'
    FROM JDT1 T0 INNER JOIN OCRD T1 ON T0.ShortName = T1.CardCode
    WHERE (T0.MthDate IS NULL OR T0.MthDate > ?) AND T0.RefDate <= ? AND T1.CardType = 'C'
    ORDER BY T1.CardCode, T0.DueDate, T0.Ref1

    Hi,
    The above error appears due to date format is differnt from SAP query generator and SQL server.
    So you need convert all date in above query to SQL server required format.
    Try to convert..let me know if not possible.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Nagarajan
