Center Flash Vertically in Browser

I'm having a trouble centering my flash animation in the center of the page - verically. It centers horizontally but I can't get it to center vertically. How can I do this in either Flash or Dreamweaver?
Thanks!

Thanks for this, but it isn't working with what my client is looking for. He saw a site and wants it to center as it does, without scroll bar, etc. I'm not the best at terminology, so to help with any confusion that I wrote, here's the example that he wants to mimic.

Thanks!

  • How to center flash movie in browser window

    Can anyone explain how to horizontally center my Flash movie in the web browser window after publishing?
    A bit of background:
    I was able to achieve this using <center></center> tags a few years ago. But I have since upgraded to CS5 and I understand that this old method is now obsolete.
    I have found a few threads/forums that address this, but I know nothing about HTML and these threads don't help me because they assume you have more knowledge than I possess. When opening up the index.html file in Dreamweaver I can't find anything that looks vaguely familiar to what is being discussed. I have found some code samples using <div></div> tags but have no idea where to place it.
    So I will need it explained to me in a step by step fashion, including which file I need to fix and what program I should use. Code samples will be very welcome if you can tell me exactly where it goes.
    Thanks in advance...

    Just realized that there is no scrolling functionality with the .swf generated from the new CS5. Can anyone help out by providing revised code for centering and scrolling?
    I found something elsewhere in the forums that worked for both centering and scrolling that worked fine yesterday, but upon visiting my site today for testing, it did not allow the scrolling, and centering did not work in Firefox. Tested both Safari and Firefox on 2 Macs running Snow Leopard.
    Again, much appreciated - nice to visit forums where people are interested in helping instead of screaming at each other. Will visit the Illustrator or Indesign forum to see if I can help out someone there...

  • Center html preview in browser window

    I've recently created a 800x400 pixel flash document and
    published it to html. When previewing in my browser it positions
    itself in the upper left-hand corner of my window. What adjustments
    to the publishing settings (or html coding) do I need to apply to
    center it vertically and horizontally in my browser window at
    preview? Thanks for any responses.

    it would be of better help if you listed your site. Or if you
    posted your code, i could help you with this issue.

  • Center text vertically in 6i

    I was wondering if there was a way to center text vertically in a text field in forms 6i.
    I have a banner at the top of my form as a text item, and I need the value(s) to be centered horizontally(which I have already done) and vertically which I am wondering how to do. Could someone please tell me how?
    TIA
    C

    It does not. It's specific to table cells, or things with the
    table-cell
    display style.

  • How to centre Flash content in browser window?

    Hi there
    I'm relatively new to Flash, so maybe there's a simple answer to this one.
    How do I centre my Flash content horizontally in the browser window? In the Publish Settings I see there are options to align the HTML to Default, Left, Right, Top and Bottom, but no Center. Is there a setting somewhere else? Do I need to write some ActionScript to do this? (If so, what?)
    I'd appreciate any suggestions.
    (I'm using CS3 on a Mac.)

    OK, I'm fumbling around a bit here. I see now that the Flash content does resize to fit the window. So, back to my original question: how can I get it to keep its original size but stay centered horizontally in the window?
    Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  • Can't Center SWF image in Browser

    I've designed a website in flash and have inserted the SWF file into Dreamweaver, I can edit everything else I need, but for some reason - no matter what I do or try, I can't center this SWF image in Dreamweaver so the SWF file will rests in the center of a browser.
    I've tried editing the CSS in the Body, but it doesn't change anything, no matter what. The site always sits flush left.
    See results of current set up: http://www.louise-gd.com.
    Please advise as soon as possible.

    The whole page is in Flash?  Do you know what you give up when you do that (hint: lots!)?
    Try changing this -
    body {
         background-color: #999;
         right: 0px;
         margin: 0px;
         padding: 0px;
         background-position: center;
         position: relative;
         visibility: inherit;
         height: auto;
         width: auto;
    to this -
    body {
         background-color: #999;
         margin: 0 auto;
         padding: 0;
            width:650px;
    and see what happens.

  • How do you auto center page vertically?

    I'm using DW CS4, Mac.
    I have created a template web page with the exact size of 1000-pixels wide, by 600-pixels tall. I was easily able to set the page to automatically center itself widthwise in the browser. However, I have no idea how to make it do the same for the vertical. There must be a way, right? I was able to do such with my OLD GoLive.
    Thanks!

    How would I go about the task of auto vertically centering the page?
    Did you look at that link I gave you? The answer is in the Source Code.
    Also, I may forgo HTML text altogether, in favor of sliced PSD pages. Which, unless I'm wrong, will look the same regardless of browser settings.
    Why go to all that trouble?  I mean if you're so concerned about form without function, just publish a  PDF  document.  Then come back in 6 months to learn why your site has no traffic,  no  sales and no search engine ranking.
