Centering Web site pages

Just wondering if someone know's how to center your web site
pages using CSS if thats possible, if not what other way?

Please post this on the General discussion forum, where it
will get more
appropriate visibility.

    Certainly. That's why most people use something like -
    body { text-align:center; }
    #wrapper { text-align:left;width:760px; margin:0 auto; }
    to center the page.

    You can try this:
    > <style type="text/css">
    > <!--
    > table#holdAll{width:100%; }
    > table#holdAll td#centerIt {text-align:center;}
    > div#mySite{width:960px;}

  • Can iWeb Be Used To Create and Edit Completely Seperate Web-Sites/Pages?

    Is it possible to use iWeb to create completely separate web-sites/pages? As far as I can tell even what is called NEW SITE simple creates a new nested SITE folder.
    I want to use iWeb to edit totally separate web-sites.
    I want to be able to make a single word change on my home page without having to upload and replace my entire site.
    My work around for example would be to keep my Photo and Movie Album separate (where most of my memory intensive files reside)from the part of my site which is mostly text. And when I make a single word change to my home page I would simply upload that page. I would have a link from my home page to my Photo and Movie Album - much like I edit web-pages in Dreamweaver.
    Any suggestions?
    thanks.

    There are many ways to create brand new Domain/Site/page, see my posts:

    Splitting domain.site(2) is bad juju:

  • When a web site page can't be found why does it go to yahoo with a message

    I will be on a web site doesn't matter which one and if I click to go to the next page, and it can't find it yahoo comes up with some crap I hate yahoo and if I can't fix this I will delete firefox and use something else

    Some internet services and some add-ons may be paid by Yahoo to show you that page.
    Does the Yahoo page mention DNS Solutions or similar language? Does it show a Help or About link that might lead to a page where you can "opt out" of the service?
    To check whether one of your extensions is the culprit, you could test in Firefox's Safe Mode. That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions and some advanced features of Firefox. More info: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]].
    You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:
    * "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
    * Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
    Not all add-ons are disabled: Flash and other plugins still run
    After Firefox shuts down, a small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (''not'' Reset).
    Any difference?

    Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache.
    * Press and hold Shift and left-click the Reload button.
    * Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
    * Press "Cmd + Shift + R" (MAC)
    Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
    "Clear the Cache":
    * Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
    "Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
    * Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
    Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

  • Editing a web site page

    I recently published an iWeb page to .Mac. I then edited that page in iWeb but when I accessed the site with a browser, the editing changes were not there.
    I went back to iWeb and the changes were there, so I published the page thinking it would replace the original page. Not so.
    How do I make changes so that others can access my web site with a browser and view the changes?

    I know this sounds very basic, but apart from the cache, I always make sure after editing, that I click File/Save. Early on, in January, I found one particular edit didn't kick in when I published - the second time I saved before publishing, and it did the trick.
    Rachel.

    You may have switched on caret browsing.

    You can press press F7 (on Mac: fn + F7) to toggle caret browsing on/off.

  • How can I copy, paste, and email a web site page?

    Hello.  Basic Safari question: How can I Copy, then paste, web site content from Safari, into a document (ie. Powerpoint Presentation)?  I am interested in copying / pasting so that the content in the document looks (formatted) identical to the content on the web site?
    Thanks!
    KD
    ps.  R.I.P. S.J.

    This one kills me as well - editing phone numbers in the keypad/dialer is a pretty basic function, I could never fathom why it didn't exist.  We need to be able to place a cursor, and copy/paste part-numbers!  I'm constantly trying to paste just an area code, or an extension, or insert the country code, and I should not need to create a new number in the contact directory to do it!
    Currently I do the copy/paste editing in Notes, and then paste the corrected number into the dialer - pointless and inefficient, and contrary to the Apple philosophy of making the user experience easy and seamless...

  • PDF Converter For Web Site Pages

    Hello.  I am new to using a Mac.  My need is to convert web pages to PDF (specifically news articles from one particular site from which I have permission to do so!).   I am used to using Adobe Acrobat at my office, but just can't afford it on my own nickle.   There are so many PDF utilities in the App store that they make my head spin!
    I am very appreciative for suggestions on a decent PDF converter that is Acrobat-like but not as expensive.   The reviews on the free ones seem to warn me against trying them, so I'm really not adverse to paying for one.  I hope to spend around $50 max if possible.
    Many thanks for your help!
    - Marty

    SP, yes, your suggestion worked like a charm.  Plus I can delete trailing pages that I no longer need.   Since I completely lost my pride when I hit 50, I can say "duh" on behalf of yourself and everyone reading this.
    Many thanks for your help!

  • I can no longer print web site pages from my Firefox browser. I can still print web site pages from Internet Explorer.

    I tried the steps in the Firefox support area of resetting Print.Print_printer but that did not work. Whenever I try tp print a webpage the print preview page is blank and it freezes up. I then have to close the browser and start over. I can print webpages from Internet Explorer.

    See:
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Problems_printing_web_pages

  • Firefox keeps closing the web site page I am typing on andkeeps going back to a new start page s back to start

    While i am typing info on the keyboard e.g. on google maps or on my email page to send a message, firefox keeps jumping back to its start page and I have to start all over. What can I do to stop this from happening?

    To revert to Google as your preferred search engine, please do the following.<br><br>
    * In the location bar, type '''about:config''' and hit Enter.<br><br>
    * In the filter at the top, type: '''keyword.URL'''<br><br>
    * Double click it and remove whatever's in there (probably Yahoo) and replace it with http://www.google.com/search?q=<br>
    The URL to add in "keyword.URL" becomes a link in this post, so right click it and choose "Copy Link Location" to copy it to the Windows clipboard. Then hit CTRL+V to paste it. Saves you having to type the whole thing.
    '''To reset your home page, do the following'''.<br><br>
    * Go to the site you want to set as your homepage.<br><br>
    * Click the orange Firefox button and go to '''Options '''| '''Options '''| '''General'''.<br><br>
    * Make sure it says "''Show My Homepage''" in the first dropdown menu.<br><br>
    * Click the button called "'''Use Current Pages'''" to set the homepage to the one you have on the screen.<br>

  • Af:calendar and iframe in UCM web site page reloading automatically

    I want to put a simple af:calendar app w/in an iframe in a UCM (SiteStudio) developed web page.
    I've added
    <context-param>
    <param-name>oracle.adf.view.rich.security.FRAME_BUSTING</param-name>
    <param-value>never</param-value>
    </context-param>
    to web.xml.
    When I bring up the web page it "loops" constantly (using resource view in chrome) reloading the .jspx with the calendar component. Clicking stop then reload will show the page in the iframe.
    The WebLogic access.log shows hundreds of entries like

    and it rotates the logs multiple times since they fill up that fast. I've done this in Chrome, Firefox and IE 7.
    Any ideas how to prevent? Chrome's dev tools don't show an error.
    Thanks much ...

    Hi,
    hard to advise because this effect would need to be reproduced to flag this as a problem of the ADF Faces stack. If this shows in the context of UCM then this is what you need to exclude as a possible error source first. Can you create a JSPX page in JDeveloper and add the calendar page in an iframe (please build the calendar page in JDeveloper as well). If the behavior doens't show then, you would need to report the issue on an UCM forum

  • Inserting ENCLOSURE onto a Web-site Page

    Hi - I'm using the MAC version of CS4  I'm trying to upload an MP3 file to an existing web page and would like to be able to have my users listen without having to leave the page (open a separate quicktime page.)  In reading the user manual it looks like an enclosure is the way to go, but when I look at INSERT Enclosure, the options are all greyed out.   How do I upload an MP3 file and allow my users to play on that page?
    Linda

    These settings are in the "QuickTime" inspector window. Drop your mp3 music file onto the iWeb page, select "autoplay" and adjust the start/stop time slider.

  • Safari quits when you open some web site pages

    Why does my safari quit automatically when you go to do something on a web page? Very frustrating because there is no way to solve this.
