CF 9 MSSQL DB Connection loss after service restart

We have 9 servers running almost identical applications, they all pull data from one database server (Connections are internal).
We also have services on CF restarting nightly around 4am on all the servers.
On one of our servers occasionally the resart will cause the database connections to hopelessly break, we get the following CF errors constantly until we restart the entire server, at which point it works just fine.
[Macromedia][SQLServer JDBC Driver]Object has been closed.
[Macromedia][SQLServer JDBC Driver]Connection reset by peer: socket write error
It seems the database is rejecting the connections to the newly restarted services. I can't glean anything from CF logs other than the above. The database logs dont seem to say anything either (Admittedly not an expert). Does anyone have any ideas as to what could possibly be causing this?

Hi,
I notice CF9 version is 9.0.0 - maybe you could try updater1 tho you say other CF9 servers are OK and running same version.
Perhaps run a CMD "PING -t" between the CF9 and SQL on each consol. Is a local LAN you should get some fast response times and no dropped packets. If this CF9 server is noticeably slow or dropping packets then likely that might help resolve matter.
One other thing comes to mind perhaps use another SQL Server JDBC Driver instead of the one built in to the CFadmin.
HTH, Carl.

  • Route -p connection loss after restart

    Hi,
I have a windows 7 professional system which has 2 NICs, which have to be connected to two different networks.
    Have followed this link
     http://windows.microsoft.com/en-in/windows/configuring-multiple-network-gateways#1TC=windows-7
    to configure.
Everything works fine for the first time. But on restart of the windows 7 system, network configured with route -p command does not respond. Am able to ping to only the gateway, on this network none of the other systems respond.
Any pointers to solve this issue would be greatly appreciated.
    thanks
    Sagar

    Hi,
Do you mean that you manually add a route with command route -p add, but the network configuration doesn't take effect after PC restart?
As I know, when you use the -p option in command, the added router will be persistent across the boot of the system, the added route will be stored in the following registry key, you can check in your system whether it exists.
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip \Parameters\PersistentRoutes.
And as a alternative solution, you can enter the route add command in a batch file, then run the file during system startup to make it persist.

  • BI Publisher (Obiee 11g) Scheduled jobs start randomly after services restarting

    Hi everybody,
I've a problem with scheduled jobs on BI Publisher that start randomly after server restarting.
For example if there's a job scheduled every day at 8.00 am it works fine until the server is not restarted but when I restart it next job running start at 9.28 am (it is an example because the real start time is very unpredictable).
In my case bi publisher is integrated with obiee 11g (11.1.1.6.2) and I've scheduled jobs with administrative user (weblogic). For this user I've set the Bi Publisher Preferences (report locale = Italiano-Italia, Report Time Zone = GMT +1:00) from obiee analytics user account preferencies.
Can anyone have this problem too and help me?
    Thanks
    Annalisa

These are not helpful. The first link is to OBIEE 10g and the second is just an install guide. I am having the same issue with BI Publisher returning java.lang.NullPointerException in OBIEE 11g. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks,

  • Wireless connection loss after sleep

    Hello,
I seem to lose my wireless connections upon awakening from sleep mode. Whereas in the past after waking up it would stay connected. Any help is much appreciated.

    James, welcome to the discussions!
    Check the following settings:
System Preferences > Network. Click on the gear shaped icon below the connection list on the left and select Set Service Order. Make sure your AirPort connection is at the top of the list. If ethernet is at the top, your Mac will look for ethernet connections first before looking for a wireless connection.
Return to the Network page and click the Airport connection to highlight it. Then click Advanced at the lower right of the pane. Make sure your wireless network is at the top of the list of networks. If it's not, you can drag it to the top so it's first in line to connect. Delete any old networks you do not need by clicking the - (minus) button.
Make sure there is a check mark next to "remember any networks this computer has joined". There should not be a check mark on the next two settings.

  • Internet Connection loss after losing connection between 2 sites

    Hello,
I have started working for a company over a year ago and recently we are running into an issue with losing internet after a loss of connection between companies site.  Below is a summary of setup.
Company has 2 locations, Site A and Site B..both same domain
Site A has DC and other servers such as ERP, Document Control Software.
Site B has DC, Printer Server, File Server and other essentials servers.
Each site has own independed 20 MB connection.
Site A and B are linked via MPLS and only used for ERP, Document Control software, and DC traffic.
Recently we started to have frequent connection issues with the MPLS and as a result I started to notice none of the users at Site B can access the internet such as google.com, msn.com...etc. As soon as MPLS connection is restored interent works.
The DC at Site B was setup before I started working for company.
I have been trying for the past few days to figure out why Site B is losing connection when MPLS Tunnel is not operational...but so far no luck.
I am very sure that internet traffic is not routed via MPLS because when internet is working the IP lookup such as "whatismyipaddress.com" points to ISP IP address for site B. Also when doing tracert to external website the route is via ISP for
    Site B.
I think this issue is related to DNS but cannot tell the cause or how to fix?
    Thanks for assistance in advance.

    Hi
Having said internet is not routing via MPLS, Even i think to be a DNS issues,
    Try to check the below
Ensure all the client DNS is set to AD DNS server
In AD DNS server ensure its not forwarding DNS query to Other site
During outage check any client PC manually changing the DNS IP to 4.2.2.2
    - all client DNS are set to AD DNS server
    - I checked the properties for the AD DNS and found there are 3 forwarders listed.
The first IP is at Site A which is resolved.
The second IP I am not sure about since it is not even in our subnet (not resolved)
The 3rd IP seemed to be for an old DC that is no longer operational (not resolved).
    - During outage if I change client machine DNS to 8.8.8.8 or 4.2.2.2 they can access the internet.
I guess my issue is with the forwarders. Would the right step be remove all 3 forwarded and add 8.8.8.8 and 4.2.2.2?
    Thanks.

  • RV042 Connectivity Loss after upgrade to 1.3.13.02

After upgrading an RV042 from 1.3.12.19 to 1.3.13.02, it loses connectivity after several hours.
RV042 WAN1 is connected to cable modem (WAN2/DMZ is unused), configured to obtain IP Address.
Cold booting all devices, RV042, AP & Cable modem, re-established connectivity. Only to lose connectivity again several hours later.
Reset RV042 to factory default via reset switch and cleared log. Minimal configuration applied (domain name, hostname, ntp, WAN1 bw=8000).
Checked early this morning and no connectivity. Summary screen showed the same IP on WAN1 port. All appeared normal.
Clicked renew, and connectivity was re-established. Same IP as before.
The RV042, when running 1.3.12.19, would run for many months without a hiccup.
This is the log entry when I clicked 'renew':
    Aug 18 04:12:40 2011
    System   Log
    DHCP   lease info: ip[68.202.x.x] mask[255.255.240.0] gw[68.202.x.x] host_name[starwars1rv042rtr]   domain_name[cfl.rr.com] server_name[NOT GIVEN] dns_server1[65.32.5.111]   dns_server2[65.32.5.112] ttl[64] mtu[576] renew_time[2011/8/18 05:05:10]   expire_time[2011/8/18 05:12:40]
Any ideas what might be the issue?
Clicking 'renew' did re-establish connectivity, but I'm not sure if it's a dhcp issue or not.
If I read the log entry correctly, the router has the IP lease for an hour, which means it renews several times successfully. Connectivity is down in the morning after several hours go by without use. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it. Again, nothing changed but the code and the RV042 ran without problems for months with the 1.3.12.19 code.
    jay

    Jasbryan,
Please review attached log file (pdf). I checked @ 10 hours after I manually 'renewed' the IP address from the summary page early this morning. This afternoon, the RV042 was on-line and connectivity was normal, not off-line as I thought it might be.
Instead of disturbing the router, I reviewed the log file a little closer and it appears the DHCP process was confused by erroneous time. I don't have the logs immediately following the upgrade a few days ago, but I suspect time was incorrect then as well.
The router restart Aug 17 09:52:36 2011, yesterday, was the manual reset (rear panel button). Note system/log time when the system comes back up after the reset: "Dec 31 19:00:01 2002".
Then, note the calculated expire_time: "2003/1/1 06:34:47", clearly in the past, and probably the cause of the problem. The system clock is corrected after it gets it's lease, when it can get to a NTP server (but too late for the current lease).
Early this morning, after the manual 'renew' from the summary page, the expire_time is correctly calculated in the future: 2011/8/18 05:12:40 (calculated off the present/correct time).
The actual expire_time/lease_renew occur on time: Aug 18 05:12:51 2011
I expect the dhcp process to work properly again later today and should see a log entry @ 2011/8/18 17:12:42.
    2nd automatic renew occured at: Aug 18 17:12:51 2011
Conclusion; the dhcp process was confused by incorrect system clock which it set the lease expire time in the past.

    Jay

  • Airport Extreme usb hard drive connection loss after closing finder window

I just did a software update on my MacBook Pro and now I am experiencing a weird Airport Extreme usb hard drive issue. I can see the name of my airport extreme in the Shared section of my finder window. However when I click on it, the finder indicates the it's connecting, but it stops immediately and displays the 'Not Connected' message. When I click on the 'Connect As' button, I am prompted to enter my password and if I click 'Connect', it just spins out endlessly. However, when I re-enter the password and press Connect, my usb drive mounts. I can view, access and use the drive's contents, but if I close the finder window, the connection drops and I have to re-connect. What else is weird, is that once I see my drives, the finder indicates that I am connected as another user(not a user native to this computer). This issue did not exist before my software update.
My software log update indicates that the following items have been installed:
Canon Printer Software Update 2.3 and Security Update 2010-003.
I suspect it has something to do with the Security Update. Is there a way I can revert to the previous security version? Or is there any other solution that could help me avoid re-connecting to my airport extreme usb hard drives?
I will really appreciate any feedback.

    Free Solution:
Sure there's a »fix« with Apple software. You'll need to install the Developer Tools (Xcode) from the Snow Leopard Install DVD, though.
After you've done that, you can use "SetFile" to clear the Alias bit from the misbehaving Volume:
    /usr/bin/SetFile -a a /Volumes/<YourExternalDriveName>
Please keep in mind that using this command might be dangerous, so don't try this solution unless you feel confident on the command line. (See http://developer.apple.com/mac/library/documentation/Darwin/Reference/ManPages/m an1/SetFile.1.html or invoke /usr/bin/SetFile without arguments for more info on the SetFile command.)

  • IPad 2 WiFi Connection Loss After Update To iOS 4.3.2

I've been watching with growing alarm the explosion of complaints of iPad 2 WiFi connectivity issues since the upgrade to iOS 4.3.2. My iPad is becoming almost unusable because of this issue, and this after flawless performance of the two iPad 2 32GB WiFi-only machines I bought 15 March 2011. All the suggested solutions I've read of do not solve the problem.
This is very disturbing, and I hope Apple addresses this soon.

  • SnapDrive transport protocol settings lost after service restart.

    Hi everyone,
On one of our SQL Servers we have SnapDrive v.6.4.2, OS is Windows Server 2008 SP2, the server is in a workgroup, not in a AD Domain.
In SnapDrive transport protocol settings we have a storage system defined and everything works fine, but after restarting the SnapDrive service (mostly because of a server restart) the storage settings disappear (the storage system is no longer defined) and SnapDrive cannot see the VMDK LUNs, therefore SnapManager cannot take SQL Server backups.
Any help or suggestions regarding a solution to this problem will be greatly appreciated.

I am experiencing the same issue and the OS is Windows server 2003 SP2.  Even after adding the transport protocol settings I dont see LUNs getting displayed.

  • PB crash - total data loss after forced restart.

    Hello,
Ironically I was trying to back up a whole bunch of stuff the other day to and from external hard-drive (inc 5000 photos!) when I decided to start up itunes I had a message in German saying itunes needed to be updated (the OS was accidentally installed in German by technicians after a hard drive replacement last year, but I was running it in English) the thing is I was not online at the time and it wanted to update to a version dated 2007 so the first alarm bells started ringing. I did not allow this weird update of itunes fearing I would lose all my folders etc. and cancelled it. Then thinking I would eradicate the problem by restarting the PB when I tried to restart it wouldn't let me saying 'mirror agent' was preventing a restart. I left it for a while but then forced it to shut down. When I restarted it all my data / software etc was gone - it was all in German and like the 1st day the OS was newly installed!! (Icons huge, screensaver blue swirl etc) Everything except a few folders. Also it said only 5GB of hard drive - and it is 120GB hard drive.
What should I do?!! Can I try starting it from installation disk and use disk doctor or something or should I head straight to an apple technician?
I THINK the OS was 10.4.3 or around that mark.
Any help HUGELY appreciated! Thanks in advance and greetings from Berlin.
    very worried,
    Nicole.

ok i just remembered that I changed the name of my home folder - seems this was a stupid idea - i changed it from 'admin' to 'nicole'

  • Wireless keyboard name does not stick, connection lost after reboot/restart

I know this topic has been addressed many times but I might have additional info to this.
I tried to rename my wireless keyboard. The name stays as long as I only let the computer sleep.
As soon as I do a restart/reboot and the connection is lost again, it's name is set back to the old name.
This might be related to the reason why it looses it's connection over and over again.
Does anyone know where this "name" is stored? There must be a plist file or something somewhere where the name is kept, maybe that's the file which is corrupt and must be deleted.
I also was wondering if it is possible to "reboot" the keyboard itself, maybe this setting is stored on the keyboard itself and it cannot properly maintain it.. that might be a reason why for some users the keyboard replacement has helped.
    Michael

So, the same problem occurred and in a relatively shorter time than before. I began to think that something is causing this problem.
My theory is that it is a VMWare software issue. What I've been doing differently recently is using it in "Unity" mode as opposed to "Full Screen" mode. My guess is that the program is modifying my wireless permissions and screwing it all up.
So, what I've done is set the "Network Adapter" to "Host-Only". This denies the VMWare program internet access but still allows file sharing between the Windows virtual environment and the Mac hard drive.
Then I had to re-install Mac OS X all over again to fix the wireless settings/permissions mess.

The issue is that previously it would bring up an error saying that connection was lost and would still show the folders but without any contents, and it would've been possible to do a refresh when you'd have a connection, now it instantly brings to Network folder.
    Update:
Previously before the OS reinstall, I've tested what's causing the CPU usage to go up so high using ProcessExplorer, and found out that explorer.exe is using too much services/libraries, mainly ntdll.dll, which is being looped constantly, i.o. ntdll.dll would be copied and copied and copied until you'd restart the process (explorer.exe)
