CF10 web services not "invokable" from CF9

Here's my situation:
1. first server with CF10 (just upgraded) running an application with this CFC making a wsdl web service:
<cffunction name="myWS" access="remote" returntype="boolean" output="false">
      <!--- stuff.... --->
</cffunction>
2. second server with CF9.0.1 (last hotfixes) running the web service invocation like this:
<cfinvoke webservice="http://www.firstserversite.xxx/api/folder/mycomp.cfc?wsdl" method="myWS" returnvariable="LOCAL.ret">
       <cfinvokeargument name="xxx" value="#xxx#" />
</cfinvoke>
Before upgrading first server to CF10, my two application servers talked each other the right way and that was working.
Now I see this error:
"Cannot generate stub objects for web service invocation"
ERROR: Missing <soap:fault> element inFault
It sounds like WSDL generated by cf10 is not compatible with what cf9-cfinvoke does expect!
How can I workaround this?
Many thanks to you, it's very urgent!!

Could the first bug referenced on this page have a hand in this:
http://helpx.adobe.com/coldfusion/kb/coldfusion-10-update-3.html
3321512
Web Services defaults to Axis 2 methods despite setting the Axis version to Axis 1 in ColdFusion Administrator.
Sounds like CF10 only serves-up Axis 2 web services rather than serving up v1 ones when it's told to?
Sadly 10.0.3 has been pulled due to it being buggy, but there should be a replacement soon.

  • Invoking a web service not created using oracle web service lib

    Hi All,
    I have a need to invoke my web service from oracle sql command. My web service not created using oracle web service library, but it is created using axis c++ libraries. Is it possible to do so,
    Thanks in advance,
    Regards,

    In order to call out from the database process, is SQL (or PL/SQL) you need to generate some client code, that understand the details about the specific of the service you want to invoke and can produce the correct SOAP request. Once this proxy is uploaded in the Database, you can use it.
    There is a set of Database Web services samples that should help you get started. You can also take a look at the developer's guide - see Developing a Web Service Client in the Database.
    Hope it answers your question.

    i am using oracle soa10.1.3.1.0 and jdeveloper 10.1.3.1.0 and oracle database xe 10g.

    You could deploy your EJB or Java under a web service into your OC4J, after that, you invoke a partnerlink from BPEL to the destination of wsdl will do. Also don't forget to add in your XSD schema as well.
    Thanks,

  • JCD - making a web service client call from a jcd

    Hi,
    We would like to make web service client calls from our jcd's in Java CAPS 5.1.2 to an external web services running under a Tomcat 5.5 servlet.
    What is the recommended method of calling web services from a jcd?
    We attempted to import a WSDL and use the wsdl object but that failed.
    One alternative I thought of is generating the client classes from Axis 1.3 and importing an external .jar file with those classes plus the necessary jar to run Axis.
    Our external web services are typed as docment/literal, wrapped.
    Thanks

    The recommended way to make Web Services calls from a Java Collaboration is to use the support for this feature in JCaps 5.1.2. This means using the WSDL as an OTD and linking it to an external web service on the connectivity map.
    If you have trouble using the WSDl as an OTD you can open a support case with Sun support (http://goldstar.stc.com/support).

  • Web services call directly from SAP ?

    Hi ESA Experts,
    Is it possible to make a web service call directly from a SRM or SAP R3 system without using SAP XI ?. If so, have you some code samples ?
    Thanks a lot for your response.
    Best regards
    Etienne

    Hi, Etienne.
      There are two things to do.
      1. Prepare Service Provider
      For providing services, there are many tools to publish as web services
    from BAPI, RFC and Enterprise Services.
      Please look at here.
      help.sap.com - Web Service Toolset
      http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04s/helpdata/en/db/99c04ba22fe64f96a8651df68eab92/frameset.htm
      i recommend Web Service Creation Wizard as first step.
      2. Prepare Service Consumer
      Also has many tools. What i like is WS Navigator for basic test of web services.
      help.sap.com - Web Service Homepage

  • Not able to access SOAP web service data control from adf mobile

    Hi,
    I am trying to call web services from adf mobile..
    I have created data control from external web service and it is perfectlly working on web browser..
    But why it is showing an error on emulator??
    Is there any .jar file missing in adf mobile so that it is not supporting a web service?
    Or is there any other problem? Emulator is connected to network and I am able to run WSDL in emulator's browser..
    Please help me to solve this issue..
    Thanks,
    Laxmi

    Emulator is connected to network and I am able to run WSDL in emulator's browser..
    Connecting to WSDL in the browser is not the same as connecting to WSDL in an application.
    To access a web service from an Android device enable a permission in AndroidManifest.xml that allows applications to open network sockets. Add the following uses-permission element.
    <uses-permission android:name="android.permission.INTERNET"></uses-permission>

  • Web Service - Invoke Web Service not trapping errors

    Greetings All:
    I am having an issue trying to trap errors coming out of the Invoke Web Service service.
    I have a Fault Route set up for SYSTEM EXCEPTION, and direct it to an ExecuteScript service.
    If the process I am developing fails, it appears to leave the web service "open". The next time the process is invoked, it will fail on the Web Service call.
    When my process fails, this failure route is never taken.
    I do not know why the initial failure does not "clean-up" after itself.
    I also do not know why the Web Service call does not follow the failure route.
    This is a turnkey 8.2 install on Windows Server 2003 running JBoss.
    Any assistance on how to overcome these problems would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank You
    Mark

  • Java Web Service very slow from Flex when not local

    I have a jaxws web service that I am using as the interface layer to a database that I call from a Flex application. All was working well when I was referencing the service from localhost, but as soon as I deployed a version to test against (running on AWS EBS) the service calls dropped to several minutes.
    To remove all external factors I could think of, I created a test service, which simply returns a list of 5 strings, therefore there is no DB connection issue and there are no complex objects to be interpreted. I still get exactly the same behaviour, the call is fast when running locally, but an absolute dog deployed.
    If I use a web browser to retrieve the wsdl / xsd locally or remotely, they return immediately. If I use soapUI to execute the call both local and remote instances return in less than 500ms.
    Using the Network Monitor, the wsdl takes a few hundred milliseconds to be retrieved, the xsd reference however, takes one minute and sometime fails altogether, ditto with the final call for data retrieval. There is no activity on the server at this time.
    The Request/Response times in Network monitor indicate that when the calls are made they are taking no more than 1 second to return, but there is exactly one minute between the wsdl retrieval and xsd call, similarly there is exatly one minute between xsd retrieval and data retrieval.
    Any ideas?

    Hi, I'm not sure I can post my application due to company privacy issues... I'll look into that.
    Note that if I execute the function from the test view of the data service (a logical data service) it responds in a reasonable amount of time - it's only when I call the same method through a web service that was generated from the data service taht I have a problem.. it consistently takes around 30 seconds +- 3 seconds.
    Your last question... uhh yes... the web service/data service returns a summary of a person which does include address and contact info.
    Let me see about attaching the application - I'm thinking the answer will be no, however... is it possible for you to help without having the code? Hopefully the above information helped.

    Hi,
    Try using obtunnel with your bepl console.
    Alternatively, if your server is on unix/ linux, try tcpdump to capture packets to a particular server and then open the file in wireshark to analyse the contents.
    Wish SOA suite would allow us to view this by default!

  • Web Service not returning Boolean objects from DTO class

    Hi,
    I've seen posts reporting the same problem on other forums from a few years ago that are unresolved.
    I've created a service in NDS that has a method that returns some data via a DTO class. All the data is returned apart from those that are of type java.lang.Boolean. I thought the method names might be causing the problem so created a "get" method as well as an "is" method but it is still being ignored.
    I have tested this using the Portal Web Service Navigator and by using the service in Visual Composer 7.
    Is there a problem with Boolean data types in SAP Web Services ?
    Thanks
    Gary

    Hi Rich,
    No. In fact what happens is that in the se80 case, it returns 29 lines of results and in the wsadmin case it returns 25 lines of results. The web service/function module actually executes unit tests remotely by doing an RFC from the development system to the test system (where the unit tests are executed). In the se80 case, for one object, the unit tests execute correctly. In the wsadmin, the unit tests for that object don't execute hence returning less lines of result.
    In both cases, the users used to log in the web service or se80 are the same and the users for the RFC are the same.
    Thank you for your insight.
    Regards,
    Philon
