CFTEXTAREA, FCKEditor and Image resizing

I'm trying to use FCKEditor with CFTEXTAREA to build a basic blog and allow placing a photo in the post.  Everything is working fine, including the file upload features, but what I want to do is force the image to resize on upload if the file is over a certain size.  As I look through all the CFCs, it appears that the functionality is there, but I can't figure out how to activate it.  Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks all.

Althou there are couple of image component files in the fckeditor folder I don't think this feature has been built into the fckeditor.  This is something you would have to implement yourself.
Also you would be better of getting new standalone version of fckeditor and not using the one that came with CF.  One that came with CF is old and there were few updates since then.

  • Images as Buttons and Image Resizing in mxml

Sorry for all the questions but I've run into a problem when trying to create buttons that are just an image in mxml. When I first tried this I couldn't find a way to get the border around the button to dissapear so it ended up looking like my image had an extra black border around it. Then someone here suggested I just set the buttonMode property of an mx:Image to true which ended up working fine to a point. The problem I'm having is that even if I make the tabEnabled property of the image (that I'm using as a button) true, I can't tab over to it. Is there a way to either get rid of the black borders of a button or to make it so I can tab over to an image I'm using as a button?
My second question has to do with image resizing. Lets say I have an image of a horizontal line that I want to put at the top of the mxml page, and I want it to extend the full length of the page, even after the user has resized the browser. Is there a way to do that? I've tried putting the width as 100% or giving the image a "left" and "right" value so that presumably it would be stretched to fit within those but nothing has worked so far. Is there no way to do this or am I doing something wrong?
Thank you for any help you guys can give.

Of course, sorry about that. So the following is a barebones example of how I currently implement buttons and images as buttons:
    <mx:Button id="facebookButton" icon="@Embed(source='image.png')" width="30"/>
    <mx:Image buttonMode="true" id="button" source="anotherimage.png" enabled="true" click="{foo()}"/>
And within the image I've tried making the tabFocusEnabled property true but to no avail.
The following is how I've tried stretching out an image across the whole page:
    <mx:Image source="yetanotherimage.png" width="100%" scaleContent="true"/>
    <mx:Image source="yetanotherimage.png" left="10" right="10" scaleContent="true"/>

  • Importing causes pixelation and image resize doesn't work - Elements 13 Macbook Pro

As I import any photos, from any place, when I open them, they appear pixelated. I watched some tutorials and used image resize, which doesn't do anything but change the size, even if the resolution is turned up. I also saw something about preferences, which didn't do anything, all versions are up to date. What is the problem? Why will it never change?

Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the HP Forums I would like to direct your attention to the HP Forums Guide First Time Here? Learn How to Post and More.
I understand you are having issues with your HP Monitor on your MAC. I am providing you with an HP Support document: Updating a Monitor Driver, where it states under the sub-heading Using HP monitors on a Mac "HP monitors are not supported in a Mac environment. However, newer Macs use graphics with VESA modes and can display to most HP LCD monitors. To do this, connect the monitor to the Mac while the Mac is off, and then turn on the MAC. The monitor should operate at 60Hz. The INF and software for the HP monitor are for Microsoft Windows and cannot be run in a standard MAC OS environment."
This being said all I can advise is that you check to see that the monitor is set to operat at 60Hz and contact Apple for assistance if that does not get your monitor displaying correctly.
I hope I have answered your question to your satisfaction. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

  • Ibook epub and image resize

It seems to me that it is impossible to resize epub book with ibooks. This isn't a problem with the text but there are images uninterpretable if not larger. This is a problem with tables too. If you have a scientific text this is a big issue.
With pdf files it is possible to resize everything. This is obvious why a text in pdf would be unreadable.
Until now I used stanza and there are no such limitations.

I agree completely and have not been able to find a solution. There needs to be a way to zoom in on pictures and text that cannot be changed using the standard texts in ibooks. This is a huge problem for me as I use iBooks for work everyday and run into this problem.

  • Drawning text/images in a JPanel and then resizing/moving it with the mouse

    Hello ebverybody!
I need to be able to draw some text objects in a JPanel and then resize/move it with the mouse... How could I do that!? Same for some images loaded from jpg files...
Should I just paint the text and then repaint when the mouse selects it? How to do this selection?! Or should use something like a jLabel and then change it`s font metrics?!
I need to keep track of the upper left corner of the text/image, as well as the width/height of it. This will be recorded in a file.
The text/images need to smoothly move around the panel as the mouse drags when selectin an entity.. not just "click the entity, then click another point and the entity appears there as if by magic...":)
Please, tell the best way to do that!
    Thanks everybody!

I know what you mean! This happened to me as well!
And one thing that I found useful is, if you want to directly select a layer without selecting from the layers pallete and without having autoselect enabled, just hold Ctrl and click on in directly in the image. This saved me a lot of time!

  • Resizing text and images with actions and keeping it resized for the next slides, how to?

    Hello everybody,
I searched over the net and in this support section for a solution to my problem, but i didnt find any, so...here I am asking you experts.
Through a particular use of different actions I make a logo "compose" in the first slide of my presentation (the logo is composed by text and images that interact), then in the second slide i make it resize so it goes 50% of its size and moves down like a TV logo, in the corner of the slide, and I want it to stay there for all the lenght of the presentation.
It might be a stupid problem, but I didnt understand how to keep it there, 50% of its size and always in that position. If i duplicate the slide I obviously duplicate the 100%-size-logo, not its 50%-size-version, and if i shrink it in order to make it be 50% of its size the text size doesnt shrink so i have to change the text size manually, but the visual effect is imperfect.
    Lets summarize:
slide 1: text appears, image appears, the text and the image move and "compose" the logo
slide 2: the complete logo reduces its size to 50% and moves in the lower corner of the presentation, in the place I want it to be for, lets say, 20 slides
slide 3: i want to have this logo already reduced in size and in its position, in the right lower corner, but if i try to group the different parts of the composed logo and i try to squeeze them the font doesnt change its size, I only squeeze the area that the text occupies.
    Some help please guys?
    Thanks in advance,
    Dom-
(add: the problem is kind of similar to this: https://discussions.apple.com/message/9179367#9179367 . the idea of making a slide that contains the logo and text in the exact positions they would be after the move and scale actions is good and that was my first attempt, the probem is that it looks impossible to me to create a second "little" version of the logo that looks exactly the same of the first one that i reduced, so i hope there is some way to tell the app to use "the first logo, only resized the way i want", and thats the point where the problem with the size of the text comes out)

    Hi pritam,
The “maintain proportions of window for different monitor
resolutions” property will maintain the proportional size of the front panel
(its x and y sizes) when opened in a different resolution. The front panel
objects will not be resized and will appear larger (and may not fit inside the
front panel) when saved in a higher resolution, and moved to a lower
resolution. You can use the “Keep window proportions” property to achieve the
    same results.
To have both the front panel dimensions and front panel
controls scale, you need to have both the above property and the “scale all
objects on front panel as the window resizes” selected. The labels will not be
    resized by this.
I tried using both properties on two monitors and noticed
that the change does not occur when the resolutions between the monitors are
different. I had to lower both monitors’ resolution to see the change work
    properly.
Please post back if you have any questions. Have a great day!

  • Header and Footer Resize Issues

When I create a Header and Footer look in adobe edge I go to resize the width of the page and the header images and texts resize fine but the images and text in the Footer area do not resize and they end up moving all around the screen.

    Hi Siclaria,
Can you let us know if negative margins are in effect for the footer elements? (Do you -ve value in the margin field?)
If something has a negative margin, as you resize your canvas, the element will move to the right instead of the left. In your case, it looks like some elements have negative margin values and some are fine.
An easy solution is to "Edit -> Add Parent" around those elements. For example: Select "Industries", "Education", "Healthcare", etc. and do an Edit -> Add Parent.
This makes the "set of elements" move to the left (because they are contained within a parent) and will be closer to the behavior you expect.

  • Ways to implement image resizing using plug-ins?

    Hi Photoshop developers,
I'm a developer with a few Photoshop filter and selection plug-ins under my belt, and I have a good understanding of the SDK and tools and suites it provides. My next project is an algorithm for enlarging/resampling images to different pixel dimensions. I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions for or experience with the best combination of plug-in types to implement this.
Clearly, I can't just write it as a filter plug-in, since there is no way to change the image dimensions from within a filter.
I'd like the resized image to remain within Photoshop (as a new window or in the original one), so an export plug-in on its own is not sufficient.
Import plug-ins seem promising, since they allow the creation of a new document of the required size. However, as best I can tell from the Photoshop 6.0 SDK documentation, import plug-ins cannot access the image data from other open documents (or even the clipboard), nor do they provide any support for channel ports and the Channel Port suite.
My best idea at this stage is to create an export plug-in to provide the user interface and calculate the resized image, and then an import plug-in to import the resized image back into a new window. (I'm supposing a further automation plug-in would then be written to perform this export/import sequence.) The difficulty I see with this approach is how to communicate the resized image data between the two plug-ins. Since the resized image will potentially be very large, the ideal solution would be to store it in channels managed by the Channel Ports suite. However, I cannot see how the channel ports created in the export plug-in could be communicated to and used by an import plug-in. The alternative would be for the export plug-in to save the resized image to a temporary file on disk, however this seems unnecessary.
    So, my questions, specifically, are:
    a) Is it possible to create new channels using the Channel Ports suite (sPSChannelPorts->New()) in one plug-in, and have those channels persist to be used in another plug-in?
    b) If so, how would the channel ports be communicated between the plug-ins?
    c) Alternately, are there any alternative architectures available for implementing an image-resizing algorithm using the plug-in types that are available for Photoshop developers.
Any responses would be greatly appreciated; I know this is a low-traffic forum...
    Thanks,
    Matthew.

  • Publishing and images in ie 6 & 7

    Hi folks,
    I think I have sort of stumbled over something here;
I was having trouble getting images to display properly on ie 6 or 7 until I noticed that I ony had a problem for images where I had used the "Object causes wrap" option.
I have reformatted my site to avoid this and now all the images display correctly even though most are png's and have shadows and reflections, resizing etc.
Sorry if this is already common knowledge but from looking around the web I haven't heard this pointed out before.
I tried this just before I was about to start on the generally recommended course of action - formatting all the images outside of iweb - importing to iweb and NOT doing any formatting inside of iweb.
This has therefore saved me a lot of work and I wanted to tell you in case it did the same for you.
    Here's my site http://web.mac.com/theedonfamily/iWeb/Site/Home.html
It was the straight thinking pages I was having problems with.
Please let me know if this is of use or if I have missed something.
    Cheers,

    Mark,
Try clearing your browser cache then viewing in ie 6 again. If the images are all in your cache, then, since the whole page loads faster, there's less time to wait for the javafixing code to run and it could be quick enough to look like it's not running.
ie7 doesn't have as MUCH of a problem with .pngs in the first place (still does, just not as bad). I'll try your site on my Windows PC when I get to it.
    jctez,
You can download icons for free from any number of places (http://www.iconfactory.com for example). After you have the ones you want to use, go through the steps in this thread to use them as images in iWeb.
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=2990132&#2990132
And as Mark said, any image you find you can add to your iPhoto library (keep 'em in a folder called web graphics or something like that) by control-clicking the graphic on the page and choosing Add Image to iPhoto Library

  • Problem with image resize after canvas resize in CS6

In previous versions I have been able to resize the canvas and then resize the image.  For example resize the canvas to 250px x 250 px.  Then resize the image to the same.
Here is the process I am using:
Duplicate the layer and then hide it.
Resize the canvas (Image > Canvas Size) to 250px x 250 px.
Un-hide the layer and then resize the image (Image > Image Size).  When I go into Image>Image Size it says that the image is already 250px x 250px.  However if I try to transform the scale the image is the original size and not 250px x 250px
The reason for needing this is I resize image size (in bulk) and the canvas size using the batch process (file>automate>batch) and actions.   I loaded the actions file I used in previous versions, but that did not work correctly.  I then went in to do this manually and got the same results.
    Any ideas??

Please post the Action set *.atn file and name of the action in the set.
What you wrote seems like normal operation.
There is no reason to hide and unhide the layer.
When you change Canvas Size the only layer the may actually get changed is the "Background Layer" for the bankground layer does not suppoty tranparency so Pixels of some color will be added to the background layer if your increasing canvas size or Pixels will be cropped off the background layer if you decreasing canvas size.  Canvas Size = Document Size = Image size.  Canvas size change does not change the size of other layer.  Only their position over the canvas may change.  Layers other then the background layer can be any size. They can be the same size as the canvas size or they may be larger or smaler then the canvas size and they can have any aspect ratio and any shape.  As you saw when you ise free transform on your layer.

  • Aperture/Photoshop plug in and image size

I'm having a problem I don't really understand.  I have Aperture 3 and I have CS5 that I'm trying to use as a plug-in for Aperture.  This is half an Aperture question and half a Photoshop one so I hope someone can answer it for me.
In Photoshop I made an "action" that is a sort of raised beveled watermark for my photos.
I open one of my images in Aperture and "fix" it - soften the skin, blur the background (whatever...) then I go to the top menu item "Photos" and go down and pick "edit with Adobe CS5."  And my image opens in Photoshop.  I go to the menu and pick the watermark action but when it works my watermark can't really be "read" because it's not fitting on the photo, it's too big and falls off the edges.  The photo is 1241x1280 px.
But here is the odd thing.  If I take that same photo, the very same size 1241x1280 and open it directly in photoshop, completely bypass Aperture, and run the watermark action, it's actually a bit small (but usable) it fits fine in the very same photo!  When I check the image size in Photoshop it is the same size (regardless of if I open in photoshop directly or go there from Aperture).
So this problem only seems to happen when I edit the photo from Aperture.  I'm new to both Aperture and Photoshop (crazy to try and learn 2 programs at once) and I don't know if I can make just the watermark layer in photoshop smaller.  But again it fits fine if I apply it directly from Photoshop bypassing Aperture.
Does anyone know why this happens and how I can make the watermark work?  Or can I make a watermark in Aperture?
    Thanks for any help,
    Susan

Like I said when I rescale it they way you said to do in photoshop it changes the size and distorts it a bit.
If you hold down the 'Shift + Option' keys while scaling, the text, shape or raster object will not distort and will resize from the center (AKA - maintain aspect ratio).
I run the full version of PS, so am not sure if the commands are exactly the same if you are running PS Elements, but there is a command at 'Layer menu > Layer Style > Scale Effects..' which can be used for scaling the bevel settings to match the scaling of the watermark item.
One exact way to do this in PS full version is to choose the Edit > Transform > Scale command and then use the option bar fields under the main menu bar to change the 'H' (Height) and 'W' (Width) percentages equally (to say 70% in each) and then use the aforementioned 'Layer........Scale Effects' command and enter 70% in that dialog. This should reduce the watermark and effects appropriately without distortion.
Note - indeed both programs are very deep (especially PS), but that just gives you more fun to learn as you go. Don't worry about mastering either, just work within a structured workflow so you can take the steps at your own pace.
Again, I am not sure what version of PS you are running, but the one book I suggest looking into more than any other is at the link below. It is somewhat dated, but the information is completely relevant and covers the general usage of Photoshop to make anyone comfortable with the tool set.
    http://www.amazon.com/Adobe-Photoshop-Unmasked-Science-Selections/dp/0321441206/ ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1307824869&sr=8-1
The companion website is still up and you can download all the images used in the book if you want to practice on the same images he outlines. Well worth a look if you want to learn Photoshop.

  • Why won't Photoshop revert to earlier history state after image resize when scripted?

I've written an Applescript to automate watermarking and resizing images for my company. Everything generally works fine — the script saves the initial history state to a variable, resizes the image, adds the appropriate watermark, saves off a jpeg, then reverts to the initial history state for another resize and watermark loop.
The problem is when I try not to use a watermark and only resize by setting the variable `wmColor` to `"None"` or `"None for all"`. It seems that after resizing and saving off a jpeg, Photoshop doesn't like it when I try to revert to the initial history state. This is super annoying, since clearly a resize should count as a history step, and I don't want to rewrite the script to implement multiple open/close operations on the original file. Does anyone know what might be going on? This is the line that's generating the problem (it's in both the doBig and doSmall methods, and throws an error every time I ask it just to do an image resize and change current history state):
set current history state of current document to initialState

As many others here I use JavaScript so I can’t really help you with your problem.
But I’d like to point to »the lazy person’s out« – with many operations that result in creating a new file on disk I simply duplicate the image (and flatten in the same step) to minimize any chance of damaging the original file if the Script should not perform as expected.

  • Image resizing in Smartforms?? or ADOBE

    Hello All,
I am working on creating a smartform. It includes displaying images in the output. There could be different
smartforms displaying the same image but with different sizes.
I know of the solution to resize the image using picture editor and upload using SE78, which is then accessed in the smartform. But I want to avoid multiple sizes of same images in the MIME repository.
Is there a possibility of image resizing in the smartform ? If yes, then how ? I have tried changing the DPI in General attributes of the graphic node in smartform but it does not resize the image.
If not, then is it possible in ADOBE forms ?
