Change Ctrl-right arrow to start of next word

How do I unmap behavior of Ctrl-Right Arrow from end of next word to start of next word? I am using FM 11 on a Windows platform.

Actually, I think it's done by modifying cmds.cfg or wincmds.cfg. I've been mucking around with these files with no success.

In most other other distros I worked with, the CTRL-Left arrow and CTRL-right arrow will move one word to the left (or right) in a shell or a term (ex. gnome-terminal) but doesn't do anything under Arch. How/where can I assign these key combinations under Arch? TIA

Ok I finally figured it out. To say that it was a learning experience would be an understatement.
I added the following 4 lines in /etc/inputrc
"\e[1;5C": forward-word
"\e\e[C": forward-word
"\e[1;5D": backward-word
"\e\e[D": backward-word
I discovered that these new entries do not apply to a standard console (getty?) and only works within an ssh session or inside a term of some sort (i.e. gnome-terminal). Hopefully this will be useful to someone else.

I am a new user to swing .I am facing some problems while implementing the following.I have a tree table .I have one listener class which is listening the tree selection.I have one button for which I want to use ctrl right arrow as accelerator .I have added the keystroke for this.
It is working fine.But when I am selecting any iitems from the tree the listener class is listening it.i am passing the tree and the button there.But the keystroke for the button is not working.Please helpme to solve this.

I'm guessing the button accelerator is not working because the tree has the
input focus. You might want to try using the WHEN_IN_FOCUSED_WINDOW
input map to set up your accelerator binding.

Select Until Next Word is broken? Ctrl+Shift+Right Arrow

I don't use Dreamweaver all that often, and this is one reason why. But it's finally gotten on my nerves long enough that I thought I would ask about it. What can I do to fix Dreamweaver so that "Select Until Next Word" works as it should—the way it works in EVERY other program on the PLANET???!! (Windows environment).
Ctrl+Shift+Right Arrow, and the other arrow keys work correctly in Design View, but NONE of them work at all in Code View. When I'm developing software, web pages—whatever—Code View is where I spend at least 90% of my time.
So have you long time Dreamweaverers found a workaround? A fix? If so, please share! If not, Adobe, SHAME on you for breaking a convention so common that it's only noticed when it's broken!

Wow! The first place I looked was in Preferences and then in Keyboard Shortcuts. I missed that "Code Editing" dropdown. That's fantastic. Thank you!
Now I've got Ctrl+Left, Ctrl+Right, Ctrl+Shift+Left and Ctrl+Shift+Right working the way they should. However, there doesn't seem to be a built-in command for selecting the previous and next paragraphs—or block-level element, I suppose in the case of the Code Editor. Again Ctrl+Shift+Up (select previous paragraph) and Ctrl+Shift+Down (select next paragraph) are fairly standard in any application I can think of. These commands are so standard that I really only notice when they're NOT present (which is really only in Adobe Dreamweaver).
Any idea how I might implement a workaround for those?

We have MS Word documents in which we have Right Facing Arrows. In MS Word they are created by type DASH + DASH + GREATER_THAN (e.g. "- - >" without the spaces. We use then to instruct users on menu options (e.g., FILE-->OPEN).
When printed they become Left Facing Arrows printed on top of the first letter of the next word -- The letter "O" in the above example would have the Left Arrow printed on top of it.
Don't know whether it's the drivers or the Raster.

Thank you for the information. The fact that this is a newer computer is a little concerning. I believe upgrading to Windows 8.1 is a could test. If the same issues occur on Windows 8.1, this proves that the hardware isn't functioning the way it should. If this issue is removed when installing Windows 8.1, this proves that something was wrong with the current operating system. I would definitely give this a shot. Windows 8.1 isn't a lot different than Windows 8. The main difference is that Windows 8.1 has a different Start menu then what appears on Windows 7 and older. That's the main difference. I can understand it would be a little uncomfortable, coming from Windows XP. Anyway, please try updating to Windows 8.1 and let me know how it goes. Does anyone know how I would *globally* map Ctrl + B and ctrl + F to left and right arrow keys, respectively? This keystroke works for some applications, but not all. I'd like it to always work.

So, it is now June and still no fix. This is incredibly annoying when you are giving a professional presentation in front of an audience and the speaker wants to go back a slide. It's enough to change presentation software.
In truth, the Presentation Module in LR5 is vastly inferior to other dedicated software. For instance, you can't add a text slide as a divider between "chapters," as far as I can figure out, you can't merge slideshows or go from one to another without exposing your entire screen, the order of slides is over-ridden by some predetermined metadata rather than being able to choose two catalogs and put them into one slideshow, deciding yourself which catalog should play first.
Are any of these changes in the works?
Any eta on the right/left arrow fix?

Got the system from a donation store. This had been used at a school and the drive wasn't wiped, but most things require admin user-name & password. It would block usage of all the startup keys, like C, N, T, D, CMD+s, CMD+Option+p+r, CMD +v, Option boot will show a lock, and Shift, as well as booting from anything but the Hard Drive.
Force Removing Password Protection
1) Add or remove DIMMs to change the total amount of RAM in the computer.
2) Then, the PRAM must be reset 3 times. (Command + Option + P + R).

Hi, While writing an email online using Firefox 3.6.3, I was using one of the "CTRL+left or right arrow" to move the cursor along the text. I must have pressed some other key because the display has become huge - and I can't scroll vertically or horizontally, which makes using the Mail pages of Hotmail impossible. I have since logged in using MSFT Explorer and it works fine. This problem occurs only on the Mail page of Hotmail Live not on the home page or others.
Could you please let me know if this is a problem with Firefox, or if you have any advice on how to reset the appearance of Hotmail in Firefox?

This command no longer works in iPhoto. The photo just bounces for a moment, then all the photos begin scrolling. I used to be able to just hit the key to scroll one at a time.

Yes.
You set your VI to run when opened. Then you put a Start button in a while loop with a small wait statement ahead of the real part of your code. (You'll need a data dependency between that and you main code, either a wire or a flat sequence structure.) That start button stops the while loop and allows the rest of the code to execute.
Better solutions would call for an event structure and possibly a state machine architecture.

It sounds like 2 of your keys are not working after updating to Mavericks. I found this section of an article for you to help troubleshoot this issue named:

Some keys don't work as expected
From the Apple menu, choose System Preferences.
From the View menu, choose Speech.
Click the Text to Speech tab.
If "Speak selected text when the key is pressed" is enabled, the key or key combination set to speak text cannot be used for other purposes or used to type text--click Set Key and change it to a less-commonly used key combination (try to use modifier keys such as Shift, Command, Option, and Control). Or, disable the "Speak selected text when the key is pressed" option.
Click the Universal Access pane in System Preferences, click the Keyboard tab.
Make sure that Slow Keys is turned off. With Slow Keys on, you need to press a key for a longer period of time for it to be recognized.
In the Universal Access pane, click the Mouse tab, and make sure Mouse Keys is turned off. With Mouse Keys enabled, you cannot use the Numeric Keypad to enter numbers--instead the keypad moves the pointer (cursor). (There is an option to enable Mouse Keys with five presses of the Option key; you may want to turn that option off to avoid accidentally enabling it.) If the issue persists, use Keyboard Viewer to help isolate the issue:
Click the Language & Text pane (Mac OS X v10.6) or International pane (Mac OS X v10.5.8 or earlier) in System Preferences.
Click the Input Sources tab (or Input Menu tab in Mac OS X 10.5.8 or earlier).
Click the Keyboard & Character Viewer "On" checkbox to select it (click the Keyboard Viewer "On" checkbox in Mac OS X 10.5.8 or earlier).
From the Input (flag) menu, choose Show Keyboard Viewer.
If the keyboard is connected and detected by Mac OS X, the keys you type will highlight in the Keyboard Viewer window. Open TextEdit (or any text application), and try to type something using the keys that were previously not responding to see if they highlight in Keyboard Viewer.
Start from the Mac OS X Install Disc, choose Terminal from the Utilities menu and test the keys which were previously not working. If the keys work while started from the Install disc, then the keyboard itself is working correctly. Use Mac OS X: How to troubleshoot a software issue to isolate the software issue that may be causing the keys to not respond.
