Change default language of login in database

Hi,
Working on SQL Azure. I'm running queries that are date dependent and so I need to set the default language of the user to be British (to get dd/mm/yyyy format). How can I do this in Azure. Create Login and Alter Login are restricted and when I query sys.sql_logins
in master database I can see that the users have default language if US English.
Thanks,
Tom

Hello,
Microsoft Azure SQL Database does not support using DEFAULT_LANGUAGE options with
ALTER LOGIN statement.
SQL Azure stores the data of Date/Time in UTC timezone and it does not support changing the timezone. You should convert date format and apply to the end user applications by yourself. Or you can try to store the date/time with  datetimeoffset
data type which is support in SQL Azure.

If you're having trouble making changes to files that are inside your home folder (represented by a house icon in the sidebar of a Finder window), or if you can't get changes to the settings of an application to stick, then please see below.
    Back up all data.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership and access-control lists to the default. If you've set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it.
I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, they may not work as described.
    Step 1
If you have more than one user, and the one in question is not an administrator, then go to Step 2.
Triple-click anywhere in the following line on this page to select it:
    { sudo chflags -R nouchg,nouappnd ~ $TMPDIR..; sudo chown -R $UID:staff ~ $_; sudo chmod -R u+rwX ~ $_; chmod -R -N ~ $_; } 2>&-
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, you may have to press the return key after pasting.
You'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The command may take a few minutes to run, or perhaps longer if you have literally millions of files in your home folder. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign ($) to appear, then quit Terminal.
    Step 2 (optional)
Take this step only if you have trouble with Step 1, if you prefer not to take it, or if it doesn't solve the problem.
Boot into Recovery. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
    Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar. A Terminal window will open.
In the Terminal window, type this:
    res
Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
    resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password dialog will open. You’re not going to reset a password.
In the dialog, select the startup volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if it's not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if it's not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
    Select
     ▹ Restart
    from the menu bar.

  • Change default language in object SELFITEM.SENDTASKDESCRIPTION

    Dear WF Gurus,
We are using object SELFITEM method SENDTASKDESCRIPTION to send email to manager for request (Leave and Travel) approval.  FYI, our system is used by several countries and there are several logon languages available in the system.  Currently the ibject works OK because we default the language expression of the task (in the container tab) as EN.  So regardless of the logon language of the user, SAP system will send the email in English.  We also do not translate the email to other languages.
But now another country with Portuguese language is implemented in the system and the users want everything to be translated to PT including approval email mentioned above.  If we change the default language in the container to initial, it works OK for PT, because we have translated the email to PT.  But we have problem with other countries, because they login using their own language, but still receive the email in English (we don't do email translation for them).  So anyone have any suggestion on how we can proceed ?  Thanks.
    Regards,
    Arief

Well, what if you just remove the default language EN from the email sending step. If a user triggers the workflow, which will then in turn send the email, the workflow is started in the corresponding language. If you don't have a default language set up, the email sending step might use the language in which the workflow was started (Which in your case might be correct). I am not sure this, but you might try it.
In general I think the best approach is the one that I explained in my previous answer already. You need find out the email receivers language, and use (=make the binding from the workflow container to the email sending step language parameter) that language in the email sending step. The only "difficult" part is to how to get the receiver user's language in to the WF container. Basically the idea would be that you create for example a new step in your workflow. In this step you will what is the language of the email receiver user, and return it to the workflow container. Then just bind it to the email sending step.

  • Change default language for SharePoint Online Sub-Site

    Hi Guys,
Am trying to create multiple sub-sites using a custom site template in SharePoint Online. The default language of the Site Template is English. But I want to create sites for difference languages.
There is a option to setup multiple languages on the site and change the browser preferences. But we want that anyone irrespective of the language, should see the site in the language it has been configured for, For instance France site should display data
in French irrespective of any user see it.
To accomplish this, I was trying to find if there is a way to change the default language of the site after we create it.
Can some one give me an idea if we can achieve this behavior or if there an alternate to do it ?
    Thanks,

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you want to change the default site language.
There is no supported way to change the default language of a site collection, once it has been created.
There is a way to change it by modifying the content database using SQL Management Studio(though it is not supported), you can refer to the article below to change the default language in an existed site.

  • Change default language at site creation?

    Hi,
I have a SharePoint farm consisting of three site collections. All of these have been created with English language. A Norwegian language pack has been installed.
Is there any way to change the default language when a new site is created? More specific: when a user decides to create a new site (not site collection), I want the language dropdown in the form to be Norwegian, not English. Is this possible?
    Thanks!

  • Stoplist changing default language

The manual says that the language of the stoplist used is determined by the default language of your database.
    My database runs NLS_LNAGUAGE=AMERICAN
but I want to have my stoplist in DUTCH without changing my default database language.
    How can i achieve that

You can create your own stoplist and specify that in your index creation or change the ctxsys.default_stoplist. You can use cxt_ddl.add_stopword and ctx_ddl.remove_stopword to add and remove stopwords from your stoplists. You can copy and paste the stopwords from the online documentation to a text file, use SQL*Loader or an external table to load them into a table, then loop through a cursor selecting from that table and use ctx_ddl.add_stopword to add each one to your stoplist.

  • How to change default language in an existing document?

I have created several documents, all with tables in them (lots of text in tables). All of these were created when the default language was English. As I am typing all of these documents in Australian English (same as British English) I am getting lots of red underlines on word that Pages thinks are incorrectly spelt.
How can I do a global change of the text to Australaian English (or any other language for that matter). If I do Select All within the document it does not select the text in the tables so for the moment it looks like I have to select each cell individually to change the language. This will take hours, Surely there is a simpler method to to a global language change.

Update all the styles after you have changed the language.
Insert the cursor in the sample style > Styles Drawer > click on the red triangle next to the style > Redefine Style from selection
Save your document. If you need this for future documents save as a template.
You should have set your system language to Australian English and it would have defaulted to that.

  • Changing default language in plugin...

    Hi all,
I just wonder if there is an approach to change the default language in plugin by changing  LocaleIndex in ".fr" file?
I need to do some short testing to make sure the supported language(s) other than my default language(enUS) at least working for existing strings in other language. In order to do it, I changed the LocalIndex from index_enUS to index_frFR(to test for french) also did the same with StringTable(). I'm trying to simulate the pulling up the french string in my GUI but still english string comes up. Any idea is this approach would be enough for swithcing language in plugin or I have to check the plugin in French version?
    Thank you,
    Mor

    Hi Mor,
instead of switching your plugin's locale, try to switch the hosts locale.
This page shows how to do it on Windows:

  • Change default language on browser thru WD Java

    hi all,
I already created .xlf for internationalization. The scenario is to display the page on the language regard to user's nationality. Do I have to create the BAPI to send the nationality of SAP user to let the WD Java knows the user's nationality? Or WD Java has any info about user's nationality?
In case I create BAPI to send user's nationality from SAP to WD Java, how can I set the default language on browser? Normally we have to set thru: Internat options => tab General => Languages to change the default language. If I want to set the language from WD Java, what the steps to do? Please advise me on this.

  • Change default language of Ip phone on CUCM 7

    Hello Everybody,
I have Publisher Cucm 7.1 installed on my cluster, and i need to change the default-language of all my phone inside my cluster to Portuguese,
Someon know , how can i do that?
    Thx in advance

    Hi,
in order to select the Portuguese locale for the phones, you will need to download the latest locale installer (LI) for your country, i.e. Portugal from cisco.com. If you also need the localised network tones, then you will need to install the combined network locale as well.
For example, for CUCM version 7.1.x, you should download the following locale installers:
    cm-locale-combined_network-ES-7.1.5.1300-1.cop.sgn (network locale)
    cm-locale-pt_PT-ES-7.1.5.1300-1.cop.sgn (user locale)
Caution: If you are you using 69XX or 89XX IP phones, you will also need the Phone only locales (PO)!
Be sure to install the user locale, as well as the network locale on every CUCM server in your cluster, starting with the Publisher. You will have to reboot the cluster, in order to have the locales fully available.
Please refer to the following DocWiki document, if you need assistance with installing the locales:
    http://docwiki.cisco.com/wiki/Cucm-phone-locale-installers
After the locales are installed and all CUCM servers are rebooted, then you can update the user locale via the Bulk Administration Tool (BAT), as Adrian has described above.
If this post was helpful, please rate.
    Kind regards,
    Igor

  • Change default language in SU01 (CUA)

When starting transaction SU01 in the CUA (ECC 5.0)  the language field is already filled in with EN. I want this field to be empty when starting thsi transaction OR I want to be able to change the default language to NL.
Could anyone explain me how & where?
    Thank you!

    Hi Lodewijk
You could create a transaction variant in SHD0 which populates the field with either blank or NL.  Set it as a global variant and it will be like that every time you run SU01
