Change Events (Show/Hide Subforms)

Hi guys i need some help, i have a some subForms that i want to manipulate with a dropdown list, and i've tried to do this with this code in the exit event,
if (this.rawValue ==1) {
xfa.resolveNode("form1.theForm.subForm1").presence= "invisible";
xfa.resolveNode("form1.theForm.subForm2").presence= "visible";
else if(this.rawValue ==2) {
xfa.resolveNode("form1.theForm.subForm3").presence= "visible";
xfa.resolveNode("form1.theForm.subForm4").presence= "invisible";
This is not working. The subforms are not working. I think that here if(this.rawValue ==1), the number, is the position of the list that i inserted in the drop down list object. Am i correct?
If someone can help i would apreciate.
I am also attaching the file.(I want to do in the dropdown list the same behavior of the checkboxes.)
Thanks.
Regards
Mancini.

HI,
But when i do this,
if(this.rawValue ==1) {
xfa.resolveNode("form1.theForm.subForm1").presence= "invisible";
xfa.resolveNode("form1.theForm.subForm2").presence= "visible";
else if(this.rawValue ==2){
xfa.resolveNode("form1.theForm.subForm3").presence= "visible";
xfa.resolveNode("form1.theForm.subForm4").presence= "invisible";
The subform doesn't work like i want.

  • Reg : show/hide subforms under buttons in Static page(Java Script)

    Hi All ,
    I am creating Adobe Interactive form(static page). In this page have 3 buttons.For each button one subform is there. I want to show/hide subforms under buttons.
    I am using javascript. Please give me the code for this.
    Thanks
    Risha

    Hi Risha,
    can you explain your question like do u have some condtions to show or hide the subform? OR if u click
    button you want to show the subform and by default subform should be hidden something like this?
    Normally for showing the subfrom on click of the button: (By default make your subform invisible from its properties).
    Select the button and in the click event select java script option and write the following code:
    Subform.presence = "visible";
    (*you have to give full path of the subform instead of only subform name).

    You have created the object on Master page that causing the issue also missed the 'presence' after object name. I redesign the form but not on master Page and apply the below script and its working
    Click event of 'Nee' radio button
    if(this.rawValue == 1)
    xfa.form.form1.subform1.sub1.presence="hidden";
    Click event of 'Ja' radio button
    if(this.rawValue == 1)
      xfa.form.form1.subform1.sub1.presence="visible";

  • Help Needed with JavaScript for show/hide subforms controlled by dropdown selection... Please!

    I have created a form that depending on what is seleced in a drop down menu it should determine what subform is displayed. The code I am pasting below only works with one (4 total) of the selections in the dropdown.
    I am not a scriptor by any strectch of the imagination! Can anyone see what I need to fix in the below to get this to work. It is almost like I am missing some sort of "or" statement... Any suggestions?
    Here is the current javascript associated with the dropdown field:
    form1.jobselection.customjob::change - (JavaScript, client)
    customprint.presence = "hidden";
    frontpagenote.presence = "hidden";
    weprint.presence = "hidden";
    preprint.presence = "hidden";
    if (xfa.event.newText == "CustomPrint"){customprint.presence = "visible";}
    else {frontpagenote.presence = "hidden";
    weprint.presence = "hidden";
    preprint.presence = "hidden";}
    if (xfa.event.newText == "PrePrint"){preprint.presence = "visible";}
    else {frontpagenote.presence = "hidden";
    weprint.presence = "hidden";
    customprint.presence = "hidden";}
    if (xfa.event.newText == "FrontPageNote"){frontpagenote.presence = "visible";}
    else {preprint.presence = "hidden";
    weprint.presence = "hidden";
    customprint.presence = "hidden";}
    if (xfa.event.newText == "WePrint"){weprint.presence = "visible";}
    else {frontpagenote.presence = "hidden";
    preprint.presence = "hidden";
    customprint.presence = "hidden";}
    form1.jobselection.customjob::click - (JavaScript, client)
    if (customjob.rawValue == CustomPrint)
    xfa.resolveNode(form1.jobselection.customprint).presence="visible";
    else
    xfa.resolveNode(form1.jobselection.customprint).presence="hidden";

    First of all i suggest you clean up the code a bit. Use this for example.
    var strSelectedText = xfa.event.newText;
    customprint.presence      = (strSelectedText == "CustomPrint") ? "visible" : "hidden";
    preprint.presence            = (strSelectedText == "PrePrint") ? "visible" : "hidden";
    frontpagenote.presence   = (strSelectedText == "FrontPageNote") ? "visible" : "hidden";
    weprint.presence            = (strSelectedText == "WePrint") ? "visible" : "hidden";
    //Optional code for checking values. You might want to put this in the exit-event.
    console.show();
    console.println("value = " + strSelectedText );
    console.println("customprint.presence = " +customprint.presence );
    console.println("preprint.presence = " + preprint.presence );
    console.println("frontpagenote.presence  = " + frontpagenote.presence  );
    console.println("weprint.presence = " + weprint.presence );
    // End optional code.
    What the above does is just have the same if/else you use, it just does it in much less code/scripting.
    The optional code is for you to verify what actually goes on. Wich values are changed or given, etc.
    What also might help is to write down the full path off the subform you want to change the presence of.
    So instead of "frontpage.presence" you write down "form1.frontpage.presence".
    Hope this helps.
    Rien.

  • Change minitoc show/hide prompt in RH9

    This has been asked regarding earlier versions and I am hoping a solution has been introduced since then. I want to change the default minitoc prompt that reads, in unnecessarily exotic English, "In this Topic Hide" and "In this Topic Show". I would like it to read, plainly and simply, "Show content list" and Hide content list".
    Has anyone found a way to do this?

    Excellent! Works fine. Just wish it could be a project default rather than a manual task.
    My minitoc now appears as:
    Contents -- Hide
    ·         Topic 1
    ·         Topic 2
    ·         Topic 3
    Which will be clearer to my readers than:
    In this Topic Hide

  • Show/Hide Fields Based on Dropdown

    Hi,
    I am attempting to show/hide subforms with a dropdown selection. I've found a lot of information on the subject, and have ended up with this as my script:
    form1.Page1.Division::exit - (JavaScript, client)
    switch (Page1.Division.rawValue)
       case "1":
       SubformZZI.presence = "visible";
       SubformZZR.presence = "hidden";
          break;
       case "2":
       SubformZZI.presence = "hidden";
       SubformZZR.presence = "visible";
          break;
    However, it is not doing anything when a selection is made in the dropdown box. I have the "SubformZZI" initially set as "Visible" and the "SubformZZR" initially set as "Hidden".
    Any suggestions?

    You have wrongly referenced the fields in your code.
    Copy and paste the below code in the click event of the Submit button. It should work as expected.
    The code thathas error is commented..

    How to  hide/unhide the all Treenodes on Treeview based on Checkbox changed event?

    2.Checkbox Unchecked(Action below like)

    Badri

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you want to hide/show the TreeView when the Checkbox checked/unchecked.
    We can use jQuery to achieve it, the following script for your reference:
    <script src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-1.10.2.min.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
    <script type="text/javascript">
    $(function () {
    $("input[type=checkbox]").click(function () {
    if (this.checked) {
    $("#TreeViewID").hide();
    } else {
    $("#TreeViewID").show();
    </script>

  • Calling 'show hide' event from 'select' event

    Hi all,
    is it possible to call an event from another event?
    Can i call the 'show hide' event from the 'select' event to disclose the selected row?
    As a sidenote: is it possible to remove the show/hide button/link but to retain the show/hide functionality?
    Thanks in advance....
    Regards,
    Robert

    Hi Gabrielle,
    Yes indeed... the row information is sent... the 'select' event i'm refferring to is the one generated when you drag a viewobject as a readonly table to a UIX datapage...
    It is generated initially as
    <event name="select" source="EmpView10">
        <set target="${bindings.EmpView1Iterator}" property="currentRowIndexInRange" value="${ui:tableSelectedIndex(uix, 'EmpView10')}"/>
    </event>However i must have made a typo last time as it works now... ohwell.. made some changes and submitted the selected row as parameter using
        <invoke method="handleEvent" javaType="view.DisclosureEventHandler">
            <parameters>
                <!-- Selected row -->
                <parameter javaType="java.lang.String" value="${ui:tableSelectedIndex(uix, 'EmpView10')}" />
                <!-- SessionScope attribute to put detailDisclosure in -->
                <parameter javaType="java.lang.String" value="detailDisclosure" />
                <!-- All the other stuff -->
                <parameter javaType="oracle.cabo.servlet.expl.ControllerImplicitObject" value="${uix}"/>
            </parameters>
    </invoke>This works more cleanly and can be reused...
    Thanks for your replies... it always helps when someone is thinking along... it makes you takes some crossroads you wouldn't think of...

  • Show/Hide nested subforms

    Hey all,
    Since I didn't get a response on the issue I had on post
    lisa j richards, "Save and Export Data format issue/question" #, 1 Aug 2006 8:30 am, I spent a couple days and completely recreated the form using inherent bindings which actually messes up usability of the form a bit, but what can you do?
    Anyway, since I think we'll have to go in and manually delete all the "infoOnly" type fields in the XML, I'd like to try to make it as easy as possible to find and delete that information which means limiting the subforms into one main subform (tag). One of the tags that needs to go under this subform needs the ability to show and hide. It was working before I redid the form by using setInstances() in it's own subform of the root. I now need to move it down a level.
    _subformMain.subformSub.setInstances(1); does not work.
    subformMain.subformSub.instanceManager(1); doesn't work, and
    xfa.pathTo.subformMain.subformSub...(1); doesn't work (I've tried several iterations)
    The question is this, how can I keep a parent subform visible and hide one of its child subforms by using a button (or in this case radio button fields) located in a different subform?
    Thanks!

  • Issue while readnig child records of Advanced Table after show/hide event.

    Hi All,
    As suggested in OAF dev guide, I used below piece of code to get control on Child items for selected Parent
    -- code Starts
    // get a handle to inner table
    OATableBean innerTable =
    (OATableBean)webBean.findChildRecursive("InnerTableBean");
    // create an enumerator
    OAInnerDataObjectEnumerator enum =
    new OAInnerDataObjectEnumerator(pageContext, innerTable);
    while (enum.hasMoreElements())
    RowSet innerRowSet = (RowSet) enum.nextElement();
    // get all rows
    Row []rowsInRange = innerRowSet.getAllRowsInRange();
    for (int i = 0; i < rowsInRange.length; i++)
    Row nextRow = (Row) rowsInRange;
    -- code Ends
    The above piece of code works when I don’t select show/hide link of Adv table and select custom ‘Update Parent/Child’ button that is placed at header(parent) level,
    upon btn event it returns all the rows of parent and works fine. But when I select show/hide link and then select ‘Update Parent/Child’ button then only it return no of Child rows displayed (fetched) on page...
    For example, If I have 100 child records of a set and only 10 child rows are displayed at a time on child region , then above code only returns 10 records,
    Ideally it suppose to return all 100 values.
    Can someone please help on this to understand why it only return 10 records not all 100 after selecting Hide show region ? and how can I fix this issue.
    Thanks
    Anand

    Hi,
    Use the VO attached to the inner table and use VO.fetchedRowCount instead of rowsInRange.length in the for loop.
    int rowcount = vo.fetchedRowCount();
    i.e. for (int i = 0; i < rowcount ; i++)
    Thanks,
    Kumar

  • Changes in detail-disclosure aren't kept over show/hide

    Dear forum,
    In a table with detail-disclosure is the filled-in data in hidden fields not kept when using the show/hide function.
    Is this is a bug in build 10.1.2 build 19? Is this solved in the new build? Or is this expected behavior?
    Is there anyone who encountered this problem or who found the solution for this?
    Your help is much appreciated.

  • Show/hide fields when selecting an option from a drop-down menu.

    Hello Gurus!
    I have a question about creating a Java Script withing Acrobat pro.  This is what i would like to do: I created a drop-down menu with several selection entries.  Upon the customer making one of the selection entries, i would like for the correct fields that i created to become visible and all other fields to hide.  Is this even possible to do?  The reasoning behind this is because we have a form that customers have to generate in order to request access to certain financial accounts; we have over 20 different types of accounts and for each instance the customer has to fill out the same form.  By creating a drop down menu, i can use the same form by just changing the drop-down selection and clicking on the designated fields for that selection.  At this time i have over 20 different forms that poing to 20 different account requests and i would hate to send the form 20 different times to one person.  The reason i can not add all fields desired for all accounts is due to the fact that the form would be filled with hundreds of checkmarks and instructions thus making the process too tideous for the customer.  Hope you guys can help out.
    ~Vader

    The good news is, it can be done (and it has been done).
    There are a few things to be aware of, however.
    The most important is that the form must be planned well, which means that you must think carefully about your logic and even more so about your field naming (hierarchical field names are your friend). One fundamental issue, you have to be aware of, is that this form no longer will be a "standard form". The consequence of this is that you may have to be aware that you might get into trouble when you have to prove that your user filled out that particular standard form (talk to your compliance and forms management people about that).
    You also may have to decide whether the form should be usable in Reader. And, if so, how much you want to spend on the right to do so. You will see below why…
    There are actually two approaches for dynamically showing/hiding parts of a form. If your form can be separated between a fixed first page (where you also have the account type selection), and a variable part (depending on the selection), you could use Templates, which you spawn according to the selection, and delete pages when you change the selection. This approach is very easy to implement, but requires Reader Extensions Server to allow it to work in Reader; Acrobat Pro's extended rights are not sufficient for that.
    The other approach is showing/hiding fields. If you did your homework well, it would be very easy to first hide all subsequent fields, and then show the ones you need in two lines of code. This approach does not require extended rights for Reader at all, as long as your forms will always have the same number of pages, for each of your account types. This approach also works for the cases where the differences between the individual forms are very small. It does also work for showing/hiding bigger chunks of the form. In that case, you might create the "background" separately, and then put it as an icon into a button field which you will show/hide together with the carefully placed on top of it active fill-out fields.
    There is a third possibility, which Adobe Propaganda probably would suggest, and that woudl be subforms in LiveCycle Designer. The consequence is, however, that you won't have PDF forms, but proprietary XFA forms instead. And you may have more developing and maintenance work than with the other approaches.
    Back to your original question: you could use a Keystroke script evaluating event.changeEx of the combo box field. Depending on that, you would run your action to set up the according form part. The other way to do it would be evaluating event.value in the onBlur event. The latter would have the advantage that the selection has been made, and you get a bit more time to set up the form (this may in fact be an issue, particularly with Acrobat 9 and 10, which may take their time to show/hide fields).
    Another possibility instead of a drop down (combo box field) would be a popup, where you would have a button to press, and the list of selections pops up. This second method uses app.popUpMenuEx().
    Hope this can help.
    Max Wyss.

  • Show/Hide a column in a Table region

    I have search page which queries the data and displays the records in a table region. We need to have an option to show or hide a non-database column at the end of the each row in the table. If the checkbox is selected, the last column should appear and if checkbox is deselected it should get disappeared.
    I have used a transient attribute in the VO and using that transient attribute trying to show the text field when the checkbox is selected. For ex, if the search returns 6 rows - if you select the checkbox of the first row , the last column "CTS" gets displayed without any issues but if you select the other rows (without checking the first row), the CTS column is not displayed.
    The column is getting displayed only IF you select the checkbox of the first row and try it other rows. If you try to select the checkbox of other rows without selecting the 1st row, it doesnt show the CTS column.
    AM has the PPR event

    for(int i=0;i<poRow.length;i++ )
    Row rowi=poRow;
    System.out.println("Value:" + rowi.getAttribute("Chkbox") );
    rowi.setAttribute("CTSEngineer_TR",Boolean.TRUE); // transient attr
    //end of CheckOnClick()

    I just referred to the Dev Guide and understand that we can use the identifier of the PPR event source row (Page 262) but still the issue persists.
    String rowReference = pageContext.getParameter(OAWebBeanConstants.EVENT_SOURCE_ROW_REFERENCE);
    I have a rawtext as the first column( its just a dummy column since the PPR event is not getting fired if the checkbox is the 1st control/column) and the 2nd column is the check box which has a PPR event. The PPR event fires whenever the check box is selected or deselected but surprising the text field gets editable only if the 1st row is clicked.
    Changed code is as always - not sure why the table shows/hides the text column only if the 1st column is selected. Will appreciate any help.

  • Show Hide transient attribute making row dirty

    Hi All
    I am using an advanced table where one of the columns(Description) is shown in detail region. To implement detail region, we need a transient attribute on the VO. I was able to get everything working. But I have the following problem.
    When the user clicks Add Rows, new rows are created for user to enter information. If the user does not make any changes and clicks Apply, no transactions are committed(which is working as expected). But when the user clicks on "Show" for one of these rows and does not enter information on any of the fields for that row, the system is throwing error on some of the mandatory fields. This is because the framework is identifying them to be dirty(Since clicking show changes the value of transient attribute on VO).
    I tried the following option to get around it, but it did not work.
    * When Show/Hide is clicked, capture that event and get the row that was clicked. Perform row.setNewRowState(row.STATUS_INITIALIZED) on that row to let system know that the row is not dirty. The problem here is that when control comes to this part of the code(be it in Controller or AM), the row status is STATUS_INITIALIZED. It becomes dirty after the Show action is processed in ProcessFormRequest(I think so..)
    To get around the issue, I had to remove the Mandatory flag on some of the fields, and implement the same manually. Also, just before committing all changes, I had to loop through all rows and see those that do not have any information entered but are still dirty. Perform row.setNewRowState(row.STATUS_INITIALIZED) on them before committing.
    Can any of you tell me a better way other than how I implemented it? I want to keep the mandatory flag on the field set(VO is based on a EO) and nto remove it. The error for no value entered should not be triggered by Show/Hide being clicked. I hope I was clear enough.

    I did that. But I wanted the Server side validations to fire if the row was touched by the user before Submit as this is a middle page in set of pages implemented via train. I think I found the solution.
    I overrode the set method for DetailAttribute item on the VO and added the logic to set the row to STATUS_INITIALIZED if no other attribute was entered and it worked like a charm.
