Change file content in XI
Hi ,
can we change the input file content before processing in XI? if yes how?
Hi Ranj,
You can convert the file content in a XML using file content conversion (https://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/2c/181077dd7d6b4ea6a8029b20bf7e55/content.htm or Basic File Adapter Content Conversion - Process Integration - SCN Wiki) if your file is structured.
In other case you would need a java mapping in order to modify the file in the operation mapping (interface mapping in XI).
If you want to do a File to File scenario without ESR(IR) objects you can't modify the files if you dont develop a new adapter module to add to file adapter. (Custom Adapter Module Development - SAP PI 7.1 - Netweaver Technology - SCN Wiki)

Changing file content with file adapter in 11g
Hi,
This question may not be very clever but I am new here so please bear with me for a second
My question is - can I change the content of the file with FTP adapter, this is 11.1.1.5.
If yes what is involved in doing it, any link to a sample or any guidance is greatly appreciated.
Thank youHi,
I don't think FTP adapter was designed to change content of files... But it depends what you mean by change...
There is an append feature...
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E28280_01/integration.1111/e10231/adptr_file.htm#BABJEFCJ
And you can always read the whole file, do the change in memory and rewrite the file again...

How to change file content in JAR
I'm deploying a Java application using Webstart based on different jars.
One of the jars contains a 'config' file. The config file contains paths to databases.
The idea is that the user can change these paths (or other settings) using the application.
This would mean that the content of Config file in the jar file should be updated once the user
changed 'the settings'..
Is this possible ? If so, thanks to explain in detail.
Greetz,depends.
If a user makes a change, you can record that change, possibly using the persistance service.
Then when he starts again, you read in the default config, then read from the persistance store to override those defaults.
You can not change the initial jar, that is really on the server, or cached on various users machines.

How to find out if file contents under some document library SPListItem has changed
hi,
I am building a Sync tool which will Sync SharePoint document library to some other service(e.g. FTP). I have added event handlers on the document library for ItemAdded, ItemUpdated etc.. etc.
Now i have one problem, when ever a file is updated (either custom properties and/or file content) then there is no way to check if its updating of content or custom fields. So everytime i need to upload my file to that FTP location. I want to get some indication
that this time file content is updated not the custom fields, or file content with custom fields are updated.
I have checked After and Before properties but its of no use. When ever you rename a file or just open the edit dialogbox and save it without updating any thing, all after and before properties are same :(
Need some solution for this, any help suggestion is appriciated.

1st link (storing file hash/MD5) is not a solution for me as i have many Office documents
2nd link doesnt have nay answers
Archive Folder is not a solution. How can i find if current item SPFile has content changes?
I already have my custom fields with each SPListItem. How can i find in itemUpdating/ed that if file content is changed? to make my custom field ture?

How to change property file contents during run time?
Hi everyone. First post so go easy on me please.
I have a couple of properties that I want to read from a from a file. To achieve this I simply use:
ResourceBundle.getBundle("my.package.MyItems").getString("MyProperty");
This works like a wonder. The problem is, i want to change the property "MyProperty" during runtime. I've found the properties file (MyItems.properties) inside weblogic, but if a change its contents it does not reflect in the application.
I can come up with a couple of justifications:
* I'm not looking in the right folder/changing the wrong file in the server;
* Weblogic caches the properties file, meaning that I have to redeploy the project (defeating the purpose of actually having a properties file).
Can anyone help with this one?
[EDIT] Forgot important info:
* JDeveloper 11.1.1.4
* Weblogic 11.3 (not 100% sure)
* Both JDev and WebLogic running on Windows 7 64 bits
Thank you in advance!

JDeveloper 11.1.1.4, not 3I tried it all.
Just an explanation of my context.
I have 1 application with 2 projects in it. First project is called "CommonUI_ViewController" and the second one "FO_ViewController".
The properties file I'm trying to change is located inside "CommonUI_ViewController", in package "PropertiesConfig" and the file is called "PhaseListener.properties".
"FO_ViewController" is dependent on "CommonUI_ViewController". When I run "FO_ViewController" the integrated weblogic server log shows this (among other things):
[10:25:55 AM] Wrote Web Application Module to D:\JDeveloper\dump\system11.1.1.4.37.59.23\o.j2ee\drs\SPV_BPM\FO_ViewControllerWebApp.war
[10:25:57 AM] Wrote Web Application Module to D:\JDeveloper\dump\system11.1.1.4.37.59.23\o.j2ee\drs\SPV_BPM\CommonUI_ViewControllerWebApp.war
Note: both lines above point to folders. "FO_ViewControllerWebApp.war" and "CommonUI_ViewControllerWebApp.war" are NOT war files, but folders that have that name.
I tried changing the properties file in the following locations:
* D:\JDeveloper\dump\system11.1.1.4.37.59.23\o.j2ee\drs\SPV_BPM\FO_ViewControllerWebApp.war\WEB-INF\lib\adflibSPVCommonUI.jar > PropertiesConfig\PhaseListener.properties;
* D:\JDeveloper\dump\system11.1.1.4.37.59.23\o.j2ee\drs\SPV_BPM\CommonUI_ViewControllerWebApp.war\WEB-INF\lib\adflibSPVCommonUI.jar > PropertiesConfig\PhaseListener.properties;
* D:\JDeveloper\dump\system11.1.1.4.37.59.23\o.j2ee\drs\SPV_BPM\CommonUI_ViewControllerWebApp.war\WEB-INF\classes\PropertiesConfig\PhaseListener.properties (no need to open any jar/war to get to this one).
I changed all these files with different values but no change was shown in the application (using the method in the previous post).
I believe that I'm still doing something wrong :/
Thank you for your help so far vinod_t_krishnan!

Can I change the content of a section in config data file use Configuration File VIs of LV?
There are few sections in my .ini file, I need to change the content of a section in this .ini file. Are Configuration File VIs in File I/O fuction pallete able to do that?
Thanks.You should be able to. Open the .ini file, read the key (if it exitst) delete it and write a new key (you might be able to directly overwrite the key but I havent tried this). Close the file with the write file? set to true and you should have modified the .ini file with the config vis.

FIle Content Conversion Problem in IDOC-XI-File Scenario
Dear All,
I am doing IDOC-XI-FILE scenario.
I am facing one problem related to File Content Coversion.My requirement was to generate a dynamic file like <b>%store_code%_%current_date%_sitemaster.xml</b> , I have completed the dynamic generation successfully .
Now there is slight change in the requirement ,<b>we have to suppress the current_date node of the xml content</b> . i have tried to suppress the current_date using these <b>DATE.fieldFixedLengths 0 , Date.fixedLengthTooShortHandling Cut</b> , But I am unable to suppress it Can some body provide me the details on this .
The output xml version generated by Reciever file adapter is as below :
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
- <ns0:MT_SITE_MASTER xmlns:ns0="http://sample-xitest.com/sitemaster">
- <SITE_DATA>
<STORE_CODE>N002</STORE_CODE>
<TITLE_MEDI>Company</TITLE_MEDI>
<STORE_NAME>Mount Road</STORE_NAME>
<STREET>Chennai</STREET>
<COUNTRY>IN</COUNTRY>
<SALES_TAX_NO>12345678910</SALES_TAX_NO>
</SITE_DATA>
</ns0:MT_SITE_MASTER>
Plz provide me the code I have to write in the file content conversion .
Thanks in advance
Regards
PrabhatIf u see my earlier reply, I mentioned that u can not suppress the field from the one node.i.e Form SITE_DATA data type u can not suppress the field called CURRENT_DATE.
My suggestion is that , modify the Data type in such a way that you will be having two nodes as I have mentioned earlier. Then use the Suppress Logic for the Current Date.
So it will look like this-
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
- <ns0:MT_SITE_MASTER xmlns:ns0="http://sample-xitest.com/sitemaster">
- <SITE_DATA>
<STORE_CODE>N002</STORE_CODE>
<TITLE_MEDI>Company</TITLE_MEDI>
<STORE_NAME>Mount Road</STORE_NAME>
<STREET>Chennai</STREET>
<COUNTRY>IN</COUNTRY>
<SALES_TAX_NO>12345678910</SALES_TAX_NO>
</SITE_DATA>
<CURR_DATE>
<CURRENT_DATE>20051105</CURRENT_DATE>
</CURR_DATE>
</ns0:MT_SITE_MASTER>
So ur SITE_DATA is not having a field called CURRENT_DATE. This field is in separate node (segment ) called CURR_DATE. Now u can use the Suppress Logic for the same like this.
CURR_DATE.fieldFixedLengths - 0
CURR_DATE.fixedLengthTooShortHanling - Cut
And in your Variable Substitution you can use the date from the other segment called CURR_DATE.
Hope this solves ur problem.

Change file name with oreilly servlet

How ?

else {
// the field did not contain a file
out.println("file; name=" + name + "; EMPTY");
out.flush();
catch (IOException lEx) {

}Hi there,
I am facing the same problem that you have stated in your Feb 26, 2002 10:28 AM message regarding "change file name with oreilly servlet", I would like to change the file name to include a unique identifier upon upload, did you ever find a solution to your problem?
Thanks!

-- Process end-of-file

END IF;
-- Read until end-of-file
l_sum := l_end - l_pos;
DBMS_LOB.READ(l_loc, l_sum, l_pos, l_buf);
dbms_output.put_line(UTL_RAW.CAST_TO_VARCHAR2(l_buf));
l_pos := l_pos + l_sum + 1;

How to download a file/contents through a session bean to the bean client
Hi All,
I'm a newbie to enterprise beans and facing a problem. I have a requirement where an excel file saved on the server will be a accessed by a session bean and return it to the bean client (developed in swing). Client will display the file contents, user edits the contents and saves. Pressing the save button will save the excel on the server again using the same session bean.
As far as displaying the contents of excel on the form/panel is concerned I have developed this part and able to load files and save them on my local machine.
But my main requirement is to load it through Session Bean and then save it back on the server. An EJB 2.0 code snippet addressing this part would be a great help.
Thanks,and where's the problem?
I see 2 EJB calls, one to retrieve the data and another one to send it back to the server.
That's the simplest scenario, easy to implement using a stateless session bean (though if you want to prevent concurrent modification of the file there's a bit more work to do, like keeping a record of open files).
A more complex solution would have the client send only the changes to the file (for network performance reasons maybe) and have the EJB merge those in some way with the original document.
Complex, possibly error prone, probably not worth the effort.
First scenario should pose no problem if you're familiar with Java and have a passing familiarity with EJB. -
Problem in file content conversion from XML to CSV
Hi Experts,
I am finding problem in file content conversion. I need to convert the following XML file into CSV file:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
- <ns0:MT_CROSS_REF xmlns:ns0="urn:dabur:idoc2file:pos">
<Update_type>2</Update_type>
<PLU>00000000</PLU>
<Cross_ref_PLU>7777777</Cross_ref_PLU>
<Capture_PLU />
<Package_size />
<Package_desc />
</ns0:MT_CROSS_REF>
The output file data has to be like:
2,00000000,7777777,,,,
The problem I am facing is while specifying the content conversion parameters in communication channel i dont know what recordset structure i should mention as all the records are directly under root. If I mention recordset structure as "ns0:MT_CROSS_REF" and parameters as
ns0:MT_CROSS_REF.fieldSeparator ,
ns0:MT_CROSS_REF.endSeparator 'nl'
i get error in communication channel monitoring and no file is posted.
Please help me as to what correct parameter i should mention in my case.
Thanks,
Regards,
YashHi Chirag,
I cannot change the xml file as it comes after mapping idoc to a message type. How can I add ROOT in the xml? My message type is like MT_CROSS_REF and it has those 6 fields as in the XML (Update_type, PLU etc.). I do the mapping of these fields from a IDOC and get the XML.
I hope you got my point.
Thanks,
Yash
