Change HTML Body background

Hi all,
I am just learning how to create websites from scratch, I am currently using dreamweaver cs3 (yes very old).
I have just created my first site, but I am getting this grey edges surrounding the actual page.
I was wondering can I get rid of them without creating another template or page. Or, if I could change the colour that would be fantastic.

Do you mean the 'grey' background that surrounds your actual content in the center?
If yes, modify the following lines of code in your .html file:
body {
font: 100% Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
background: #666666;
margin: 0; /* it's good practice to zero the margin and padding of the body element to account for differing browser defaults */
padding: 0;
text-align: center; /* this centers the container in IE 5* browsers. The text is then set to the left aligned default in the #container selector */
color: #000000;
Remove the 'background' line. This assigns a background color to your entire 'body' of the document.
If you want to change from grey to another color, change the #666666 to another hex value. #000000 gives you black, #ffffff gives you white and so on... You can open this file in DW, when you try to change the #666 value, you will be prompted with a 'color picker' dropdown that you can choose your desired color from.

The HTML editor is the 'FCK Editor' of old, and the config for it is stored on the server where all of the javascript for your server instance is stored. You can modify much of the configuration of the HTML editor. The documentation for modifying the configuration of FCKEditor is here:

Creating PDF from HTML without background

Hi,
I want to create a PDF from a html-page. I tried several ways without success to get a PDF without a background (white). I need a transparent background to add different backgrounds for different pages in Acrobat X Pro. I use an iMac with OSX 10.10.2, Safari 8.0.4 and have the MasterCollection 6 installed. I tried:
- print page -> create PDF Result: white background which hides added background
- print page -> save as Adobe-PDF Result: white background which hides added background
- in Acrobat: create PDF from web Result: white background which hides added background
In all cases it doesn't matter if I select "print background" or not. And it doesn't change if I add in the CSS for the web a body {background-color: rgba(255,255,255,0)} or body {background-color:transparent}.
How can I create a PDF with no or transparent background?

If your application generate a static html page, you can open those html files with Reports 9i and add a dynamic data sections which would be fetch the data in your html pages with Report servcies. However you can only run those modified pages as a jsp and show the output to browser window.

IE doesn't show my body background

This is a very strange problem. I feel that the different
aspects of this mistake are related, though. IE does not display my
body background or recognize some of my links as working links.
(except for the briefest of moment as it is loading the page.) The
code for the background and the links are identical in other site
pages, but this phenomenon only occurs in IE on the index page.
What on Earth causes that? I do not have the entire site remotely
hosted, yet, but you can see some of my problems at
www.eversnug.com/holmeschiropractic You'll notice that only the
landing page (index.html) manifests the issues. Both drtimbio.html
and pageerror.php have the expected background. I really appreciate
your help! If you need more information I will happily supply it.
Also, I can easily post more of the website if you need a larger

At 487Kb, I think that great big BG image should be ditched.
In a way, IE
is doing you and your site visitors a favor by not loading
it.

Missing body background in IE

I'm just putting a page together, which isn't finished yet,
but I've noticed my body background colour and image have gone AWOL
in IE - any reason why? Does IE get confused over having a
background image and a background colour?

Embedded image in html body of the email is not appearing in Outlook mail box

According to your description, you'd like to send a email with an embedded image in the signature.
I suggest you sending the image in the last of the body of email instead of operating the signature of email.

Have you tried to set "Output Format" for "RAW Text" to HTM in SCOT.
If HTM is missing in your dropdown-list, you could check out table SXCONVERT2. Copy the line with category T/format TXT, and change the format from TXT to HTM. The existing function
SX_OBJECT_CONVERT__T.TXT does not need to be changed. Now you should be able to choose HTM in SCOT. You will probably need som HTML-tags in your text to make it look good.

Have you tried by using the style attribute like that:

If it does not work, have you seen some errors in the log file of the applciation server?

Change Html Title dynamic from Flash

Hi,
I want to change the Title of the Html page dynamically from
the embedded Flash.
The Title, that appears on Browser bars etc.
Could I do this?
On init I can load the Html source code in with LoadVars, and
onData (src) change the Title with subString method, but, how then
could I pass the new value back to the Html page, so the Browser
Title changes?

I know your code works under normal circumstances, just in my
case, I can't get it to work.
Because, on a subsequent Frame, called after the
ExternalInterface.call,
I have a getURL(javascript) to change the doc. background
color.
Now, either the Title changes or the background color
changes, but both after each other, can't make it.
I have tried Ext,CallBack function, so when the Title changes
and callBack is true, move on, but still then it changes the BG,
but not the title anymore.
I must do something wrong with the callBack function?

Html Region Background showing outside of Region

Hi, I would have assumed that if I had a html region as an URL, then it would display the full html page inside the region.
However, what actually happens is the content is inside the html region, but the background appears outside the region.
I just want the whole web page to appear in the region, in the same way as it does in my browser.
HELP!!!

The issue is some of the styles are declared inline in the html and some have specific colors assigned, your grass background being on the body background don''t override the styles at the region level, (this is specific css stuff not some bug in APEX).
You'll probably want to create a new region template and report template and strip out the class and style declarations and you might have to edit the page template a bit as well.

CSS wierds - body background style getting over-ridden by "what?"

Safari v4.0.4
Up until this version I have not had to do much of any cross-browser testing with Safari (always with IE). Now I'm finding myself trying to figure out how Safari is behaving relative to FFox3.x (the standard I use for initial development)
I have several issues that have got me confused but I'll start with this one:
The background-color style on the body is being set on a linked style sheet.
body {background-color: #000000;}
but the body is not black..?
After much hacking around, I finally found that the next style sheet (also linked) did not have any setting for the body background-color but that seem to kill the setting in the previous style sheet.. I added:
body {background-color: #000000;}
.. to that style sheet file and then the background worked.. I also found the an embedded style block also has the same effect. (over ridding the body background-color style) I would then added that line to the embedded style block and then it would work right.

Is this a known issue (searching did not indicate that..)
This is a very large website and now I'm faced with adding this tag to every page.. Aaaarrrggggg..

Found that
@charset "UTF-8";
in the style sheet was the main problem..
