The FMW WebLogic Server (WLS) installation has been configured to use a non-default Java temporary files directory,
i.e. the following has been set in the WebLogic startup or setDomainEnv.sh script:
EXTRA_JAVA_PROPERTIES="-Djava.io.tmpdir=/appl/oracle/temp_java_files ${EXTRA_JAVA_PROPERTIES}"

When the Middleware home was restored the directory specified by java.io.tmpdir parameter was missing,
Therefore an IOException occurred when opening the wallet and WLS was unable to initialize the OPSS successfully.
To resolve the issue re-create the directory specified by the java.io.tmp dir parameter, and make sure the owner and group access are the same as for the FMW installation.

Changing Weblogic Server properties without restarting Weblogic Server
I have an application that requires a few things to be set at the start of the
Weblogic server (email addresses, criteria settings, etc.). These are contained
in a properties file that is referenced in the Weblogic properties file. The
problem is when I want to make a change in the application property file (change
an email address, increment a criteria) I have to "reboot" the Weblogic server.
These defeats the whole purpose of property files. Is there anyway to get Weblogic
to "recache" the properties files without a Weblogic server "reboot"?
Thanks,
BryanI very much doubt that you would be able to refresh the WebLogic properties
file at run-time (is this WebLogic 5.1 or 6.0 you are talking a about?).
If you want to be able to update properties run-time (as opposed to
boot-time) then don't use WebLogic's property file - use either your own
properties file or store the properties elsewhere such as in the database or
in JNDI. You will of course have to implement your own refresh algorithm.
If you are using EJBs then a simple READ-ONLY entity bean with a refresh
period of a few seconds may suffice.

How to make changes effect in log4j.xml without restarting weblogic server
Hi ,
I have successfully configured log4j in my weblogic server 8.1.
Everytime i made a change in log4j.xml i need to restart the server
is there any configuration or parameter to set without restarting server??
Thanks in advance,
CKI don't think you need to restart the server, atleast I never needed to when making changes to jsp pages. You only need to restart when you make changes to java classes. Some might argue jsp is converted to servlet which is a java class.....
Try refreshing the page when you make any changes. This works for me, if it doesn't work try turning reloadable="true" in your context path in tomcat's server.xml -

Is there any problem while changing WEBLOGIC server to OC4J
Hi,
We have developing a product in Jedeveloper 11g. In the development mode, we are using WEBLOGIC 10.3 as the application server. But during production mode, we have to apply the EAR files in oc4J APPLICATION SERVER.
While changing this, whether my system will work as such in the WEBLOGIC server?
Whether I loss any Rich Ajax specific fuctionalities? Is any rework in development is needed?
While Googling, I found, in JDeveloper 11g oracle prefers WEBLOGIC rather than OC4j. Can anyone advise the reason for this.
Thanks,
Prabhash.Hi John,
Thanks for your valuable advise.
Can you advise is there any difference between OC4j and Oracle Application Server (OAS) . Is the Oracle App Server supports JSF 1.2 specification. While googling, the following link states that JDeveloper 11g supports OAS

Changing WSDL url in WebLogic server
Hi All,
I have created a BPEL project and deployed to weblogic server.
I'm going to send the wsdl url to one of our clients to send data to this BPEL.
I want to change the URL to be a simple.
How do i change that?
Normally it comes as http://<host>:<port>/soa-infra/services/<deployed partition>/<project name>/<client_ep>?WSDL
How do I change this URL?
Thanks....
Edited by: Nir on May 18, 2012 9:39 PMHi,
Some approaches are:
* In case you expose your service(s) to the outside world, these service calls usually go through a DMZ. A DMZ often contains proxies, web/HTTP servers, firewalls and/or other applicances that are capable of endpoint virtualization. E.g. use Oracle HTTP Server, Apache HTTP Server, and so on to expose the endpoint at a public address.
* Use an ESB or appliance for endpoint virtualization.

Can't change debug port on Weblogic server
Despite changing the port number on the {DOMAIN}/bin/setDomainEnv.sh script and on the {DOMAIN}/init-info/startscript.xml file Eclipse (Galileo + latest OEPE) doesn't honor that.
When the server is started on debug mode from Eclipse the listening port is 8453 which is the default.
This is the [Eclipse] console output:

Change mapviewer password in weblogic-server
Hi everyone,
I'm trying to change the password of our mapviewer which is deployed in a weblogic-server.
Both weblogic and mapviewer share the same password at the moment which I want to change --> new password for mapviewer, no change to weblogic-login.
Using weblogic admin-console I can create new users, but I don't know how (if?) I can assign them to mapviewer.
Also I couldn't find any configuration files in filesystem where I can change/assign a password.
Does anybody have an idea?
Thanks,
NilsOHi, AlbertoBem and welcome to the Forums
Unfortunately there is not a convenient way to change a user password. Of course you could delete the user and recreate with a slightly different name and assign a different password. Meanwhile, here is a quote from a previous post on this subject from Tulika Garg with Adobe engineering:
"There is no provision to retrieve lost password in RHS 8. However I can offer you a workaround. You need to open the RHS 8 database and look for the table TRoboUser and then delete the row having ru_UserID value as the user id that you want to remove. Now when you add that user again, it will prompt that user does not exist and you can create the user again, assigning it a new password."
Many of us are hoping the next release will include a more convenient way to manage this process. It would be great if you could add to our request by making a post to the "wish list" at this address:

Why weblogic server does not activate changes after bounce?
Hi All,
We are working with weblogic server 10.
When ever changes are made in console, saved and activated , everthing seems fine.
Once the server is bounced , last change which was made before bounce does not reflect in the console. All the changes before the last change looks good. Can someone please guide me in this?Your changes should be written into your domain's config directory tree ( config/jdbc would hold the various jdbc pool definitions ).
Does your host / OS have some sort of delayed disk write?
Also, when you activate your change in the console, you should be able to see the changes in the config directory's files on the admin server's host
