Change Page Title, Not Folder Name

Is it possible in iWeb to change the title of a page to something different than its associated folders. That is, I want the title of my page to be "Awesome Music By A Rad Band" or something, but I want it to be published to "www.site.com/music.html", rather than "www.site.com/AwesomeMusic_By_A_RadBand.html". Follow me?
Thanks!

A way to do it once an not have to repeat the process if you edit and republish is to use the following code in an HTML snippet on the page:
<script type='text/javascript'>
parent.document.title = "PAGE TITLE";
</script>

  • Is there any way to have the page title NOT be the name of the HTML file

    You might want a page title to be say "Digital Media Academy." You don't however really want the html file to be called "Digital%20Media%20Academy.html" Windows web browsers often have problem opening pages with spaces in the file name. On the other hand you don't really want the page title to be "DigitalMediaAcademy" because that looks kind of dumb. Any way around this.

    The page is already not included in the nav bar, but
    where do you set the page name to be different from
    the file name? How can I set the name of the page,
    such as the name of this page is "Apple - Support -
    Discussions - Post Message:Reply," to be different
    from the file name?
    I think I probably misunderstood your question. You want the html "title," which appears at the top of a browser, to be independent of the name of the html file, right? I don't think that is possible in this version without manually editing the html after publishing. iWeb uses the page name given in the inspector for both the navigation bar link and the file name, replacing spaces by %20 in the latter because web servers don't allow spaces in file names.

  • How can I change my "Home directory" folder name?

    Hello, everyone.
    I was given a pre-owned MacBook Pro that's running OS 10.6.8.  How can I change the name on the Home directory folder?  I was able to change the Administrator Account settings, but the Home directory still shows the previous owner's name.  It bothers me a bit, though, to see the previous owner's name still come up on the Home folder.
    I came across the instruction listed below, but I can't get past step 4.  It instructs me "rename it just like I would rename any folder."  I can't seem to rename it, though.  The cursor doesn't come up when I click on the folder name.
    For Mac OS X v10.5 or later
    Enable the root user.
    Log in as root.
    Navigate to the /Users folder.
    Select the Home folder with the short name you want to change, and rename it just like you would rename any folder. Keep in mind that the shortname must be all lowercase, with no spaces, and only contain letters.
    Use the Users & Groups pane (Accounts pane in Mac OS X v10.6.8 or earlier) in System Preferences to create a new user with the Account name or Short Name that you used in the previous step.
    Click OK when "A folder in the Users folder already has the name 'account name'. Would you like to use that folder as the Home folder for this user account?" appears. Note: This will correct the ownership of all files in the Home folder, and avoid permissions issues with the contents.
    Choose Log Out from the Apple menu.
    Log in as the newly created user. You should be able to access all of your original files (on the desktop, in Documents, and in the other folders of this Home).
    After verifying that your data is as expected, you can delete the original user account via the Users & Groups pane (Accounts pane in Mac OS X v10.6.8 or earlier).
    Disable the root user.
    Any help would be much appreciated.

    Hi everyone,
    I followed this https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3872
    and got to the stage of having renamed my Home folder with the new name but the Home folder is STILL designated to the old name?
    When I try and create a new user with the new name, I don't get asked if I'd like to use the existing name as Home folder, I get told I can't use the newname because it exists already - thats the end of it - no further options.
    So to clarify - I now have oldname folder STILL assigned as Home folder. A newname folder with all my stuff in - apps, desktop, etc etc but this is just another user folder.
    Interestingly at login stage, the oldname folder isn't an option. I think I've confused the system somewhere by titling things differently at some stage in an attempt to rename Home folder.
    I'm running Mountain Lion (as of yesterday) and because I've kinda lost the use of my User folder as the Home folder, can't get to my Time Machine. I'm in trouble but I'm trying not to panic. Would appreciate any help!

  • Change Page Title of embedded DS reports in the portal

    Dear all,
    we have our Design Studio Reports embedded in the Portal. The title of the browser window is the title of the navigation entry you are navigating to.
    We have a demand where we need to overwrite the title from within the Design Studio Report to add a specific pattern to the title of the browser.
    as an Example:
    Name of the navigation entry: Report XY
    Current browser title: Report XY
    Target browser title: [DS] Report XY
    I know from the ABAP Web Dynpro and CRM WebUI that there are standard functions to influence the title with customer code, when they are embedded in the portal.
    Is there any way (hopefully without the use of the SDK) to influence the browser window title from Design Studio Reports when embedded in the Portal?
    Thanks a lot and best regards
    Fabian

    All the links which is mentioned above is either they are doing it in code behind or javascript like document.title.
    I want to change dynamically using ECMA script. the point i found here is if you use the below code you will get an error saying list "Pages" does not exists in the SharePoint site.
    clientContext.Web.Lists.GetByTitle("Pages");
    So i am wondering how can we change the page title of SharePoint hosted app ( Default.aspx) dynamically
    Say example i have one text box and submit button. when give the title in the text box and click on submit  the title should reflect in the page.

  • Changing page titles

    when I was making my pages up, I forgot to capitalise some of the pages' titles and for some reason iWeb won't let me do this so I now have a mixture of lowercase and uppercase links on the menu bar along the top. Any suggestions on how to change it?
    obviously I have tried doing it in the left hand menu bar. I would rather NOT create a new page if possible.
    Thanks in anticipation!

    The menu bar is not the page title.
    What you see in the menubar is the name on the left in the Sidebar. It's the pagename in the addressfield: nudesinlandscape.html
    I explained in my previous post how to change it:
    Type something completely different first. Hit Return. Notice the changes.
    Then repeat it and typ the original text, but now correctly. Notice the change.
    The title of the page, which appears in the titlebar of the browser window is based on the large textbox at the top of the page. The large text in white in the middle of the page below the horizontal line.

  • Page titles not working

    I've built my site using iWeb '08 and kinda happy with it (besides the point), but really frustrated that the page titles are what ever the text is on the page! And I can't seem to get rid of it and have just the page name as the title. From what I can tell, the app is missing the < / title> tag at the beginning of the html. so the rest of the page just flows on thru the title. I tried to open it with TextEdit to add the tag, but TextEdit just shows it as a page and warns me about a bunch of stuff that'll screw up if I touch it, so that kinda puts me off. Not every page does this either, which is more confusing..
    Anyone any ideas? The site is www.bugjuice.co.nz

    I don't understand why you are editing the pages? All this can be done from within iWeb.
    I don't know what page template you are using if any, but when you choose to add a new page just alter the text at the top of the page and change it to whatever you want. Then either click on the left hand side in iWeb and change the page name itself to what you want to. If you don't want to do it this way then open the Inspector and go to page where you can change the page name here too.
    It should be as easy as altering the text in the text box that is on your new page when created and then altering the page name at the side - this is if you choose the themed pages such as Welcome etc. The other way to get round this and it is what I did with my own site, is to choose the white template and a blank page so that you can create what you want from scratch. I have a banner at the top of all my pages anyway so this works well.
    Don't quite understand why you are editing when you can do what you want from within iWeb itself?

  • Changing Page Title

    I would like to change the Title for my site. It seems that the only title you can have is the Domain name as far as I can tell using Iweb 08. Does anyone know how to change the main Title line of the site.
    Thanks

    The problem is when you host uses frame to forward to your .mac site, your .mac page title will not show up on title bar, the frame title will (aka mask forwarding).
    You can ask your host to do regular forwarding, your page title will show; but address bar will show http://web.mac.com/blahblahblah
    or you can add this to your page, using HTML Snippet and use your host mask forwarding:
    <script type='text/javascript'>
    parent.parent.document.title = parent.document.title;
    </script>
    BTW, you have to add it to EVERY page, here is an example:
    http://hdl.50webs.com/BkgndMusic/Welcome.html
    the page title is either Major or Minor regardless the address bar is: blahblahblah/Welcome.html

  • Changing page title based on a value

    Just curious if it is possible to change the page title based on whether or not an item is null. If it is how?
    For example page title:
    If PX_ID is not null, the page title is View/Edit PRODUCTS.
    and
    If PX_ID is null, the page title is Add PRODUCTS.
    I know its no big deal... its not that hard to copy the page.
    Thanks ,
    Derek

    Set your page title to something using the &P101_PAGE_ITEM. syntax.
    Then you can use whatever logic you need to devise your P101_PAGE_ITEM.

  • Change Page Title in Netweaver Portal

    I would like the Title of my Netweaver portal to say "Development Portal" all the time.  How to do I change this.  I have the runtime already changed for this, but if i go to different iviews/pages, the beginning of the title changes to the iview/page name.

  • How can I change my Download/Desktop folder name?

    Hello everybody!
    First of all, I want to thank by advance all the people who will take some time to answer my question.
    I've updated my Macbook Pro 13" late 2011 from Mavericks to the Yosemite Beta (I was part of the pre launching program), end then, from the beta to the actual release.
    I don't really remember when, but suddenly, the other day, I've noticed that my basic folders wasn't named in my language. For example, the downloads folder is named "Downloads", as it should be named "Téléchargements" (I'm french, and my OS is in french). The problem is happening on a few folders, only in my finder window, the folders are correctly named in my dock... What could I do to restore that?

    If you don't mind using the Terminal:
    Open the Terminal in your Utilities folder. At the prompt enter:
         sudo mv (drag the folder into the Terminal window) (drag it one more time, but now change the folder name)
    Press RETURN. When prompted enter your admin password. It will not echo to the Terminal window. Press RETURN again.
    The first entry after "sudo mv " is the old_folder_name. Be sure to include the "space" after "sudo mv." The second one is the new_folder_name. Rather than doing a lot of typing it's easier to just drag the folder in twice, then change the folder_name of the second entry. Note that there is a space between the two entries. The parenthetical text is not part of the command line. Repeat the above for each folder you need to rename.
    I think this is a bit easier and quicker than reinstalling.

  • Feature request:  auto-complete by typing Page Title (not only URL)

    I'm switching from Firefox to Safari.
    I really miss new Firefox auto URL complete feature.
    Please add it in the future updates.
    I can start typing a word in address line, and a drop-list of URLs appears with URLs AND Page titles.
    Example of a desired behavior.
    Lets say I've visited a week ago an article-page titled "World History" located here http://www.hyperhistory.com/onlinen2/Historyn2/a.html
    Now week later I dont remember the URL, i want to start typing "world history" and a drop list appears of URLs with Page Titles that contain this in a page title (but not necessarily in URL).
    Also if I would type "history" , i want URL "www.hyperhistory.com" to appear in results because it is part of an URL (doesnt matter if its the second word, it should be there.
    Example of a drop list is here http://img100.imageshack.us/my.php?image=picture2df8.jpg
    Please let me know if that is possible with current Safari 3.2.1.

    As far as I am aware it's not possible for Safari to do that.
    We're just fellow users like yourself here, so it's unlikely your (good) request will be seen unfortunately. Send feedback to Apple via the Safari menu > Report Bugs to Apple... and/or http://www.apple.com/feedback/macosx.html

  • Can we change Page Title text size

    Hi,
    Is it possible to increase the text size of page Title text? Or any alternative to display big size text in that place?
    Regards,
    Ram

    Not sure what exactly are you looking for, but probably adding an image of horizontal line might solve your issue.

  • Page Title not displaying correctly in browser

    This was working fine quite a while, but for some reason, now it just displays a lowercase version of the page name.
    The source code for the page does have the proper title, so it seems like Muse is exporting it correctly, but for some reason it doesn't display.
    It's kind of a minor thing, but it also looks very unprofessional.

    Hmmm, looks all fine to me. Is this the lowercase title you were referring to?
    If so you can set that in one of two ways:
    1: It by default pulls the name from your plan view
    2: You can also go into the page properties, uncheck the 'Same as Page Name' and change it to what ever you like.

  • Two tableViews on one page - changing pages does not work

    I have a BSP page with two htmlb:tableViews :
    <htmlb:tableView id              = "tbl1"
                     table           = "<%= controller->r_model->t_table_1 %>"
                     headerVisible   = "TRUE"
                     footerVisible   = "TRUE"
                     headerText      = "bla bla"
                     iterator        = "<%= controller %>"
                     selectionMode   = "SINGLESELECT"
                     visibleRowCount = "<%= lv_visible_rows %>"
                     design          = "STANDARD"
                     keepSelectedRow = "TRUE"
                     keyColumn       = "ONR"
                     sort            = "<%= cl_htmlb_tableview=>c_sort_mode_server %>" />
    <htmlb:tableView id              = "tbl2"
                     table           = "<%= controller->r_model->t_table_2 %>"
                     headerVisible   = "TRUE"
                     footerVisible   = "TRUE"
                     headerText      = "bla bla 2"
                     iterator        = "<%= controller %>"
                     selectionMode   = "SINGLESELECT"
                     visibleRowCount = "<%= lv_visible_rows_2 %>"
                     design          = "STANDARD"
                     keepSelectedRow = "TRUE"
                     keyColumn       = "ONR"
                     sort            = "<%= cl_htmlb_tableview=>c_sort_mode_server %>" />
    Since visibleRowCount is 10 and the number of lines in the table is more than 10, a paginator (Step X of Y...) is shown.
    Now, if I click on the "Next Page" icon, table_1 moves from page 1 to page 2. If I then click on "Next Page" for table_2, table_2 changes to page 2, but table_1 changes back to page 1!
    Is that the standard behaviour? What can I do against it?

    Hi Sebastian,
    this is the code I used
    <htmlb:tableView id              = "t1"
                     table           = "<%= controller->t1 %>"
                     headerVisible   = "TRUE"
                     footerVisible   = "FALSE"
                     headerText      = "header 1"
                     emptyTableText  = "No Scenarios Found"
                     iterator        = "<%= controller %>"
                     selectionMode   = "SINGLESELECT"
                     visibleRowCount = "<%= lv_visible_rows %>"
                     design          = "STANDARD"
                     keepSelectedRow = "TRUE"
                     keyColumn       = "ONR"
                     sort            = "<%= cl_htmlb_tableview=>c_sort_mode_server %>" />
    <htmlb:tableView id              = "t2"
                     table           = "<%= controller->t2 %>"
                     headerVisible   = "TRUE"
                     footerVisible   = "FALSE"
                     headerText      = "header 2"
                     emptyTableText  = "No Scenarios Found"
                     iterator        = "<%= controller %>"
                     selectionMode   = "SINGLESELECT"
                     visibleRowCount = "<%= lv_visible_rows_planned %>"
                     design          = "STANDARD"
                     keepSelectedRow = "TRUE"
                     keyColumn       = "ONR"
                     sort            = "<%= cl_htmlb_tableview=>c_sort_mode_server %>" />
    The page is stateful.

  • Insert picture on first page (title) - not working?!

    Dear iMovie-Users,
    I am trying to create my first videos for an exam next week. For this reason, I need your help, because I can't work out how to insert a picture on the first page. My first thing to see in my video is an empty text-page (in paper-design) where are letters to appear next. When the letters appear, I would like an orange square next to the writing. As a picture or something... Unfortunately, I couldn't work out how to do it. Does anyone know how to proceed?
    Thanks a lot and hope to hear from you soon ;-)
    Have a nice weekend!!!
