Change slide duration in iWeb

How do I change the slide duration when building a slideshow with iWeb

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. It's not a normally user controlled feature. However:
To change the slideshow on screen timing add the following javascript, post publication, to just before the </html> tag in the slideshow.html file:
<script type=”text/javascript”>slideTime-10000;</script>
where 1000 = 1 second.
Thanks to Cyclosaurus for the code
You can use an HTML editor like the free TextWrangler to make the edit. It will have to be done again if you make any changes to that page and republish.

  • Change slide duration to 2.5 seconds??

Is it possible to change the duration of a slide to 2.5 seconds in imovie08. I keep trying, but it seems to make it go to 4 seconds rather than 2.5. 2 seconds is a little too fast and 3 makes my slide show a bit too long. I have also changed the duration of the transitions, but that makes the transitions too quick, but that I can live with. I would just like to shorten the slides a bit.
    Thanks for your help!
    Colleen

I would just like to shorten the slides a bit.
Add all your slides at the current default whatever it is. After the last one is added, select it and "Control-click" it to open the contextual menu. Now select the "Set Duration" option, enter the time you want, and the select the option to change all photo durations.

  • Not able to change slide duration. It's set to 4.0; I change it to 3.0 and it changes to 6.5 or something. What am I doing wrong?

I can't seem to change the slide duration in iMovie. It's set to 4.0 automatically. I change it to 3.0. The program resets it to 6.5 or something I never intended. What am I doing wrong?

  • Cannot change slide duration in software simulation

I'm using Captivate 7 for the first time. I had a much older version, but seldom used it.
I have recorded a simple software simulation that should be a piece of cake to edit and produce, but have come across a problem I don't know how to solve. The simulation includes an item on screen being clicked, then dragged and dropped into a new location. I cannot edit the duration of the slide that shows the drag-and-drop motion. It has a duration of 6.5 seconds, which is painfully and unrealistically slow and there is no way I can find to shorten it.
I can't drag the end of the slide on the timeline, right-clicking hasn't produced anything promising in pop-up menus, and the Properties panel has a Time field, but when I select the 6.5 seconds and change it, it just reverts to 6.5 seconds immediately afterward.
I recall this sort of thing being very simple in previous versions of Captivate. Not anymore, I guess...
    Thanks,
    - Jennifer

Thanks, guys! Those replies led me to try something that actually worked. It did record as a video demo (the red strike-through line) as Varun Kalra suggested. I discovered that I can click the end of the timeline for that slide (where the word END displays), then use the left arrow on my keyboard to decrease the duration of the slide.
That probably wouldn't work if the entire animation was too slow, but in this case, just the very end was too slow.
    Thanks much!

  • Changing slide duration times in the middle of slideshow

I'm making a slideshow with two different audio files that I've created into a soundtrack using garageband. Each song is about 3:30 in length. Here's my problem: The first song needs to match up with about 10-20 pictures. The 2nd song needs to match up with about 100 pictures. I need this to be one continuous slideshow (versus creating two seperate ones) as it is part of a presentation for a fundraiser and I need it to be timed right. Does anyone know of a way of changing the time between slides in the initial part of a slideshow and then speeding it up in the middle (i.e. 5 seconds for the first portion of the slideshow and then 2 seconds for the remaining portion of the slideshow)?
I'm using IDVD to create the slideshow but if anyone has a better idea please let me know

    Hi lb121389
Have you considered creating your slideshow as a QT movie? ....otherwise you may be asking too much of a consumer app like iDVD6. Suggest staying within the following choices when working within iDVD6 slideshow durations:

  • Slide duration

Hello - For some reason, I am not able to change the slide duration. The slide is currently 67 seconds. I try changing the slide duration in the properties panel - nothing. I try moving the playhead. It just doesn't every change from 67 seconds. any ideas? (PS - the slide has audio, but the audio is only 49 seconds long - I want to cut the slide length so it ends when the audio ends.

    Hi there
What objects are on the slide? Normally when you are unable to adjust slide duration it is because you have an object on the slide that is timed such that you cannot make the slide shorter.
Bottom line here is to check duration of objects on the slide.

  • Slide Duration in Timeline

I am not able to change my slide duration in the timeline of Cativate 5 as I could with other versions. I can see the move arrow and it will move the duration forward but not back. Thanks for any help ASAP.
    Cher

Check all the objects on your slide that go right to the end of the slide.  One or more of them are probably Timed for a specific number of seconds which will turn out to be the same as the current duration of the slide.  Until you change their duration, you won't be able to get your slide duration less than what they currently are.
If you select the objects that currently go to the end of slide and hit Ctrl + E keystroke combination, they will all be set to Display for Rest of Slide.  Then you should be able to drag the slide duration at will.

  • Need indefinite slide duration

Hi folks - I'm dreadfully new to Captivate and am having a
problem. My slides are all currently set to automatically proceed
to the next slide in sequence after 7 seconds. While I can change
the duration of the slides, I can't figure out how to set them so
that they *don't* progress to the next slide unless the user clicks
a "next" button. I can create the button, but can't figure out how
to give the slides indefinite duration. If you can help, I'd be
    very grateful!

HI somehedgehog and welcome to our community
I'm a bit confused. Why? Well it's this. You said you created
a button but you can't figure out how to give the slides indefinite
    duration.
I'm confused because the default nature of a Button or Click
Box object is to do exactly what you are looking for. That is to
pause the slide until your user clicks. Indefinitely
So I have a question for you. Have you inserted a Button
object and you are noticing it isn't pausing? That is where I'm
totally confused. If your button isn't pausing, try double-clicking
it and examining the properties. You should be able to make it
    pause.
    Interested in some Captivate training? :wink ;
    Cheers... Rick

  • How to change the duration of a sequence of stills all at once

    Hi.
I know how to change the duration of one still, but changing the duration of many seems elusive.  I've gone to the Help menu and typed "Duration."  That points me to the menu where I would change the duration of one still.
    Thanks for your help!

    edit:
For items already in the timeline, Select the each item in the timeline, right click and select "change speed" from the popup menu. You can not change the duration of a group of slides, only one at a time.
To change images that are already imported but not in the timeline, there are two ways to go - the brute force method and the item by item method.
Brute Force: Delete the stills from the Browser, change the duration of still setting in User Preferences>Editing to what you want, then reimport the stills. They will come in with the new duration. Changing the User Preference setting only affects stills imported after the change, it has no effect on material already in the Browser.
Item By Item: Go to the still in the Browser and change the duration for it. Right click on the time and copy it. Select the next still image time, paste the new time in, rinse and repeat. If you have a lot of stills and they are well organized (ie all in the same folder), the brute force is probably faster.

  • How to change the duration of multiple paint strokes

    Hello everyone! Newbie here.
I should've set the paint properties to first frame instead of constant. Where properties of multiple clone stamps are easily modified at once, the duration shows as a percentage and so I can't figure out how to reset the duration to the first frame of the clone stamps.
I should've read the paint chapter of the After Effects manual before I made a mess but I haven't found my answer there.
I'll also appreciate any suggestions for scratches and noise removal filters.
    Thank your for your help!

  • Can't change the duration of my move animation in Keynote

For some reason, when I change the duration of a move animation in a slide, nothing changes. It always animates at the same speed. Anybody has this problem?
    I'm using Keynote 6.1

you will have countless other problems with this rubbish update,
What specific issues are you having and someone might be able to help you?
Keynote 6.1 is stable and works perfectly well for new presentations, continuing to use Keynote 5  for existing projects is a well accepted workflow.

  • In elements 11, I would like to know more about slide shows. Specificly individual slide duration.

In elements 11, I would like to know more about slide shows. Specificly individual slide duration.

    Donald,
There are two ways to address Still Image Duration. One is global, and applied before Import. One would determine the approximate Duration desired, go to Edit>Preferences>General>Still Duration. Then, all Stills Imported will have that Duration (as will Titles, and New Items, like Black Video).
Once that general Duration has been set, one can still, and on an Image by Image basis, click + drag on the Still Image's Head, or Tail, to adjust the Duration. When doing that, I like to have the Info Panel open and visible, to see exactly what Duration I have changed to.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • Hidden slide duration

Is there a means to include the slide duration for a slide which has been hidden from view in the TOC?
The instances where I am trying to do this is in subheadings. I am hoping that the subheading can indicate the actual duration even though the individual slides of the subheading have been hidden.

    Hi sevenbit,
The reason why you're getting an error is because you are
giving the Slide effect an element that has no child element. The
slide effect requires that the content *inside* the element you
give it, be wrapped with a single element.
    http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/articles/data_api/apis/effects.html#slide
    http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/samples/effects/slide_sample.html
So if you change your content form this:
    <div style="overflow: hidden;"
    id="itemsub">subnavigation items</div>
    to this:
    <div style="overflow: hidden;"
    id="itemsub"><div>subnavigation
    items</div></div>
    It works as expected.

  • Is there a way to change the duration of a group of selected clips all at once?

    Hi all,
I'm working with good old Premiere 6 on Windows 7.
Is there a way to change the duration of a group of selected clips all at once?  If I have a large group of clips in my timeline that are all the same duration, once I've selected them all in a group, can I somehow change the frame number duration of all the clips at the same time?
I've found other things that can be done to a group of clips at the same time, but I can't find a way to change the duration of a group of selected clips.
    Thanks,
    digi

    Thanks Jim and Bill,
In my efforts to work around the problems with the distortion and horizontal interlace lines that come when using the Motion Settings, I'm doing stop frame animation with hundreds and hundreds of layers in PSDs in multiple files placed in hundreds of one, four and six frame sections in Premiere, so if I find that I need to change the number of frames per clip in hundreds of consecutive clips (not actual duration of speed changes), then I need to pull out the right side of hundreds of frames after first moving them apart enough to allow for changing them if I'm making them longer.
These animations are different from the rotating reel animations in that they are for laterally moving subjects that are long streams of moving graphics and photos.
I read about "clip nesting", but I think that only applies to clips or groups of clips that are the same, whereas my clips are each from different imported layers times 125 or so, consecutively placed one after another to create the laterally moving stop frame animation.
Now I've tried johnbmx4christ's alternate method of creating rotations that was just posted on the other thread about the rotation distortion, but that method results in the same oblong distortion and messed up looking horizontal interlace lines.
    What a can of worms.
    Thanks,
    digi
