Change the Formula in Web Intelligence Document using BO SDK XI

Dear All,
I am using Business Object Enterprise XI SDK. I have written vb.net SDK program to show the selected web intelligence document.  I have used the formula field in the web Intel. document. I want to change formula of the web intel. document in the  vb.net code by using Infostore object. Is it possible ?
Regards,
Mani

I do not think if you will be able to achieve it through the infostore and the RENET (ReportEngines .NET).
But with the Java ReportEngines, this is possible by creating a ReportExpression via the ReportDictionary's method createFormula.
Here is a snippet code:
private ReportExpression processReportExpression(ReportDictionary reportDictionary, ReportExpression expr, String definition)
        newExpr = reportDictionary.createFormula(definition);
    return newExpr;

  • Viewing Web Intelligence Documents Using Interactive Format

When I go to the Advanced Rights screen in Central Management Console, this right is set to Granted:
Enable interactive HTML viewing (if license permits)
When I log in to InfoView to set my Web Intelligence Documents Preferences, I do not see "Interactive" as an option under "Select a view format".
Do I need a special license to enable interactive HTML viewing?  We have the Premium version of BusinessObjects.

Please post this query to the Business Objects Enterprise Administration forum:
    BI Platform
That forum is monitored by qualified technicians and you will get a faster response there. Also, all BOE queries remain in one place and thus can be easily searched in one place.

  • Creating a new Web Intelligence document using OpenDocument (requires an existing document?)

We use the OpenDocument interface to embed the Web Intelligence viewer in our web application.  One of the problems we're having is that the code appears to require a valid document ID, even if all you want to do is create a new document (passing the noDocument=true flag, so that the application opens with no document at all).
I've tried various permutations of the following, with no success, always getting this error message (An error occurred: Could not find the document)
    E.g:
    http://bo-server:8080/BOE/OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?noDocument=true...
    http://bo-server:8080/BOE/OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?noDocument=true&iDocID=...
    http://bo-server:8080/BOE/OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?noDocument=true&iDocID=-1...
    http://bo-server:8080/BOE/OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?noDocument=true&iDocID=0...
    http://bo-server:8080/BOE/OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?noDocument=true&sDocName=...
    http://bo-server:8080/BOE/OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?noDocument=true&sDocName=new...
It appears the only way to get OpenDocument to allow you to do this is to use an existing WebI document ID.  That is to say you can't create a new document unless you already have an existing document to include in the call to the JSP.
This limitation appears to be artificial and only on the OpenDocument interface -- You can create new documents in Launchpad without having an already existing document to point to.  Documenting the workaround for this, having people installing the product first make a webi and save it, then configuring it so it has read-only permissions (so it doesn't accidentally get deleted), then configuring our application to lookup the ID isn't the most elegant of experiences.
I was wondering if anyone had run into this before and/or if anyone at SAP could look into it?  I'm hoping it's an easy limitation/bug to fix.
This limitation affects 4.1 SP4 and probably older versions of the OpenDocument interface.  See also:

    Hello all,
I need help for publishing web intelligence document (universe) into InfoView.
can't find this information in Business Objects Designer's Guide and in Business Objects Administrator Guide.
Can somebody give short instructions how can I do it?
    Regards, Slava

If the change between the 2 types of data has to happen dynamically during run time them
    1. Use 2 dataproviders
         a. Current
         b. Historic
    2. Merge the 2 dimensions
    3. Use Webi variable to switch between the measure of the current and historic universe
    Ex  if [year] < 2010 then historic.[expense] else current.[expense]
    Hope this helps,

  • Make a backup of Web Intelligence Documents

Hi ! I have produced some Web Intelligence documents in BO XI R2, but I need to know how to make a backup of them... Is it possible to find them as visible files or packages,  in order to keep them and prevent possible loss ?    Thanks..

The reason that you have to use the BIAR files from the Import Wizard in XI r2 is that there is no way to "publish" the .wid files that contain WebI reports.  So, the only way to restore them is through the Import Wizard.
In XI 3.0 and above, there is a tool called the Web Intelligence Rich Client which will open .wid files outside of InfoView or the CMC and let you save them to you BO system.

  • Can't create new Web Intelligence document

My company is migrating server from BO 5.1.8 to BOXI R2. Migration was fine with the exception of a few issues.
FIrst, no one has the ability to create a new Web Intelligence document in InfoView, not even administrator although permissions are there for Web Intelligence under the BusinessObjects Enterprise Applications on the main screen of the CMC.
Second, when a user attempts to change the parameters for a report, by clicking on the "prompts" link, they are presented with a server error mentioning that the document cannot be opened since it was saved with "Write Reservation Password". Would this password need to be removed in BO 5.1.8 and then the migration redone or can this password be removed post migration?
I appreciate any help or advice. I have three other things I am working on and need to get these things resolved.
    thanks

  • How do you change the default setting for RTF documents from TextEdit to MS Word

How do you change the default setting for RTF documents from TextEdit to MS Word, I download forms from the Canadian government and they use RTF as a standard, they are supposed to open as MS Word documents (Yes I have Office for MAC 2011) but when download the document it goes to TextEdit which messes up the form format. I can down load it right click and go "open with" MS Word but how can I get the default chnaged to save this step.

    richr604 wrote:
Thanks I knew this, I like Safari as I want to keep everything MAC, but if I use Firefox the documents open in MS Word straight away, I was just curious if there was some setting I could change?
In Firefox > Preferences, click the Applications tab. If RTF is there, use the pulldown menu in the Action column to pick MS Word. If RTF is not there, there are instructions here for how to add file types.

  • PS 2013 - Changing the formula in custom field not reflected in the report columns

    Hi,
The company where I work have a Sharepoint environment / EPM 2013 with about seven hundred registered projects.
We have a customer demand where it is necessary to change the formula of one of the custom fields of the environment. This field is used in some management reports made in Reporting Services and accessed by the entire board. The report uses as a source
    'MSP_EpmProject_UserView' view.
The change in formula was simple, but we found that the change will not be reflected in the reports when the user saves the project in Sharepoint or publish the schedule associated with the Project.
I believe this is the expected behavior of the EPM, but I wonder if there is some other way than through the PSI, to publish all environmental projects.
    Best regards,
Armando Machado Gonçalves - Sharepoint / EPM 2013

    Hello,
That is expected, it will not update until the project is open and republished. No automatic way to do this without automating project pro. Publishing all projects via the PSI wont cause the plan to recalculate, the plans will need to be opened.

  • Ask your question. How do I change the template for a pages document

How do I change the template for a pages document?

Once you've opened it, the opened document is no longer a template. Edit it as you would any other Pages document.
If you want to use the edited document as a Template, then , after editing, go File > Save as Template, give the new template a name, and click Save.
The old template will remain available in the location where you found it; the new one will be in the My Templartes sectionof the Templates Chooser.

  • Web Intelligence Document Freezing

    Hello everyone,
I hope someone could help me solve this issue.
I open a new Web Intelligence document,  select the required universe on which to build my document,
it starts loading for a couple of minutes and then freezes.
this issue appeared just yesterday, before that i was able to work just fine & I'm wondering what could cause
    this freezing issue.
Even if i try to open an existing report, it also freezes on loading.
Any suggestions would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks.

Is it happening to every one?
    Have you checked your Java?
I will also suggest checking your Service Pack and Fix Pack to see if they are updated.
I had similar issue when every thing was updated but web service was not responding. I restarted web services and I rebooted the server and got issue resolved.

  • Changing the CS3 AI default startup document in Mountain Lion??

Everything you read says that to change the default AI (CS3) startup document you use this path:
Users >  (User Name) > Library > Application Support >  Adobe > Adobe Illustrator CS3 > New Document Profiles > *.ai
The problem is, under Mountain Lion that path doesn't exist.  When I go to my user name, there is no "Library" folder at all.  Under "Shared" there is an AI Library folder, but it has nothing of any value in it.
My AI startup document (that I've been using for ages) is found here:
    HD > Applications > Adobe Illustrator CS3 > Plug-ins > filename.ai
However, if I navigate there and make changes, then quit Illustrator and re-launch it, nothing happens.  I'm using the same old defaults as before.
Can anyone tell me what I'm missing here?  I know I need to upgrade to a later version of CS, but the prices have become so outrageous there's no way I can justify it as long as AI and PS are working.  You need a mortgage to buy new Adobe products these days.
    Tks
    Butch

The location of startup files has changed in version CS3.
The lirbary folder is hidden in Mac OS Lion and above, you can access it like this: http://osxdaily.com/2011/07/22/access-user-library-folder-in-os-x-lion/
