Changing Field property

Hi all,
i try to change the field property "requiered" depending on values within the same form. For example: Set the property requiered to true if thevalue of the field "test" is null.
Any ideas??

This is simple. You define two fields, mutually exclusive (via Disable expressions), for the same form variable.
I don't have IDM here for the reference, but imagine something like:
1. field of type Text with "Required" property, with Disable expression e.g.
< Disable >< isnull >< ref >bla< /ref >< /isnull> < /Disable >
2. field of type Label with no "Required property" with Disable expression e.g.
< Disable >< notnull >< ref >bla< /ref >< /notnull> < /Disable >
Only one field of those will be displayed, based on the value of variable "bla". I'm using such logic for example, in the User Forms, where Login field is either displayed and required (creating users) or hidden/displayed as label (editing users - I don't want to be able the login name when Editing user)

Hari,
in your case (if you don't want to use versioning) I'd rather recommend to change it to hidden than not required. You should be able to do it with standard profiles (the field name, I believe, is dRevision)
I don't think you can have the field empty (in case someone deletes the content).

Can not change the field property - 10gR2 reports crashing on Linux :(

All I want to do, is to change one field's property from NUMBER to DATE in the property palette. It does not allow me to do it (not east like forms). I can not change the field property - 10gR2 reports keep crashing on Linux :(
I don't know if this is a Linux specific iDS issue, or a generic one.
What are the proper steps to change one field (in my query, the field name is ptime, it was defined as a number field originally, and now I need to change it to DATE and apply the proper format mask). The matching database field definition was modified from number to date.

nop, did not change anything in the select statement at all. Just selected the related query under the data model (in the navigator), then selected the related query from within the property panel, connected to the db, then from the related navigor menu selected compile all, when the related query was highlighted (selected). Then I saved it, checked the groups, and bingo - the datatype was changed from number to date. Then I went to the related object under the page layout and applied the format mask (that was another funny story). And it worked. It is not as flexible as the forms for sure - pain in the a.. And I still don't know why Reports Builder keeps crashing on Linux - have no problems with Forms Developer on Linux at all. It is a certified RH platform with all the required libs, rpms, etc installed. I am certain it is not an installation issue. Maybe I should check Metalink and apply if an iDS 10gR2 patch exists for reports.

How to change Owner property in KM

I want to know how to change cm_owner property of a document that i am uploading with dynpro java. I have written a code to add new properties for document but i couldn't change the Owner of document. Here is my code for adding a new property :

Scripting error changing field required state

I need to update all fields in a document to be not required. I read the value but cannot set it. I get the following error in the debugger.
NotAllowedError: Security settings prevent access to this property or method.
Field.required:10:click undefined:Exec
According to the documentation, this should be easy to do.

Sets or gets the required characteristic of a field. When true, the fields value must be nonnull when the user clicks a submit button that causes the value of the field to be posted. If the field value is null, the user receives a warning message and the submit does not
occur.
Type: Boolean Access: R/W Fields: all except button.
Example
Make "myField" into a required field.

If you are designing your form in Designer and not Acrobat then you shouldn't be trying to change the property on the AcroForm object (ie: the fields you get from using event.target.getField()) but rather on the XFA object. Here is an example copied from the XML Form Object Model Reference that changes all fields to read only. You can modify this to achieve what you want. In your case you'll want to set the mandatory property to "disabled".

Hello Asad,
The exporting parameter et_field_attribute contains the information about the attributes of the fields (read-only, hidden, ...) linked to the object key on your sales order.
Field property can be :
A     Not Changeable
B     Not Relevant
C     Mandatory Field
D     No Value Help (F4)

Why is AE creating unwanted keyframes whenever i change a property?

Hi all...
Just hoping someone can maybe shed some light on this - every time i go to change a property of a layer, AE (CS5.5) creates a keyframe which i don't want, even though i haven't clicked the stopwatch button. Any thoughts? Is this happening to anyone else?
Example: I have a comp containing a PNG sequence on a layer above some video footage. I want to move the comp over to the right a ways, so i select the layer, and move it to the right. Suddenly the stopwatch icon activates (without me clicking it) and a keyframe appears on the layer's timeline where the playhead is. Very befuddling, and quite irritating - if i miss one, forget to delete the key and then later try to animate the layer, it messes up the animation and i have to go hunting for the rogue key.
Anyways, hopefully someone out there has an idea of what's going wrong, and even more hopefully, how to fix it. I have a horrible suspicion it's some setting that i've accidentally changed...

I tried to make my structure data with LVC_T_SCOL as you wrote,

In sets (t-code GS01-04): How to change Field name

HI,
I have created sets for rule in validation by t-code GS01. Where I have given Tbale name BSEG and Field name KOSTL(Cost Center No). Now, I want to change field name SAKNR (GL NO) instead of cost center. When I am trying to change field name t-code GS02, there is field name is in display mode and no way to change it.
As I have lot of entries in each set, so that creation of new sets is very hard job again. Further when I trying to create new sets by reference it didnt change the table name and field name.
Please provide me a solution.

Hope it is not possible, logically total field is changing and the dependent entrie will not stay as it is. I don't think this is possible.
Eventhough the values are same but the fields are different.

you can make a reference of your graph, copy it in a global variable that can be handled in a remote vi to change the property of the graph.
I attach a sample LLB that contains a graph.vi and a property.vi.
From the property.vi you can control the property of the graph.
