Changing group permission using java in unix

Hi,
I have a java application which will create files in a particular
directory in the unix server.The application is started using
root.When the file is created the permission it has is -rw-r-r.I need
to change this and give group also rw.Anyone knows how to do this
after file is created.I dont wanna run "chmod" using
Process.getRuntime().Is there any other java api to do this.Please
help me

What does this have to do with Swing?
Well, there is no Java API that I'm aware of.
However you can execute any Windows command by using the Runtime class. So you should be able to invoke the Time command.
Search the Java Programming forum. There are plenty of examples on using the Runtime.exec(...) command.

Can it be done through JavaScript or how it can be achieved.By asking the end user to change their Security level if your application really needs them. For example there are ways to detect whether scripting language is enabled or not, whether cookies are enabled or not. If your application really needs that features, Ask user to enable the particular feature by displaying proper messages.

If you're asking whether can set an operating system security flag on a folder, then the answer is probably not (at least not without resorting to native code), and it will almost certainly not be portable across different operating systems.

hi all i am writing a code to upload file from the users to the server. i can write the files to the server but after that i cannot change it's permission to read and execute by all. only the server can read and execute it. i talked about this problem with the systems admin and he suggested i include some sort of java code to set the permission to everyone. can any one suggest me what sort of code is helpful in this regard? i am absolutely helpless about this. any help will be appreciated.

That's the right object for choosing the page size at Design time. What event are you doing this on? Although you can change it in the form model, the form's page size is already determined from the template by the time you have a form to script against, so although you can change it via script after the fact in XFA, I don't believe it will have any impact. Even putting it on the layout ready event does not work.

So, my problem here is, how can I do this dynamically on each client machine's java.policy.

The same is working in some other machine which are in different network. So, I have replaced the wlclient.jar with the wlthint3client.jar.
After replacing this jar I was getting the below exception in client logs while requesting a state less session bean.I also checked whether the request is reaching the server (bean) or not, but its not reaching the server.The problem is same at all the machines irrespective of the networks.

I have tried one more thing, I have taken all the required jars to one of the client machines and executed the main class (by setting the required class path) from cmd using java instead of javaws. Surprisingly, its working fine with out any problem using the wlthint3client.jar.
I also tried the same, by placing wlclient.jar using java in the same way(from cmd instead of javaws ), but I was facing the same exception while requesting the second session bean and found the same above exception in client logs.
To resolve this, I come across the java bug that I have given earlier "_http://bugs.sun.com/bugdatabase/view_bug.do?bug_id=4809366_".
In that page, I found a work around for this; suggested by bea to add the Runtime permission "permission java.lang.RuntimePermission "getClassLoader";" to the clients java.policy
So, please suggest me a way to resolve this problem.
Please suggest me if you have any other solutions for this problem.

I still think your problem is nothing to do with that ancient non-bug and that you should be looking elsewhere. You might be lucky and find someone here who can say "Ah, I know what that is" but I doubt it because since Oracle took over Sun this site has gone down hill big time.

The IReport interface extends IViewingServerGroupInfo interface, that allows you to specify the server group.
The choice selection for that interface is as follows: 0 = first available, 1 = prefer the selected server group, and 2 = only use the selected server group.
The server group selection is by the SI_ID for that server group InfoObject.

Assign Group permission to list item using client object model

I am trying to add the list item and assign the permission to the list item by using SP 2010 client object model. The problem which i am facing that when i assign the group as a permission to the item, by automatically the limited access permission
is added to the group. Please find the steps which i have followed,
Step-1: Break role inheritance.

When I create the group and assign contribute permission, the group has the permission at the site level(to see the permission, click group and click view Group Permission). I have added the list item and break the role inheritance permission
and given the unique permission by providing group as a permission to the list item. After providing the permission, the group permission at the site level changed to "Contribute, Limited Access". I dont know how contribute permission changed to contribute,
limited access.
I found the workaround to fix this issue. I created the group and create the folder in the shared document library by using client object model. Due to facing some issue by providing the permission using client object model, i have created the event receiver
to the document library and using server object model, i can able to assign the approprate group permission.

In that table all cost centers will displayed, but invalid cost centers should be highlighted or background color should some other color. like red or yellow.
Is it possible using java code to change a input field color.

    declare a error message in message pool and declare a method say "checkCostCenters " and in this method, u can check whether it is a valid cost center .. if it is invalid cost center , then throw the erro message using the below code :
wdComponentAPI.getMessageManager().reportContextAttributeMessage(
                    inputfieldattibutePointer, IMessageProgramPlanComp.ur error message,
                    new Object[] );
for getting pointer and label use the below code:
IWDAttributePointer inputfieldPointer = URNODEELEMENTElement
                    .getAttributePointer(URNODEELEMENT.ATTRIBUTENAME);
          String inputfieldLabel = wdContext.nodeURVALUENODE.getNodeInfo()
                    .getAttribute(URNODELEMENT.ATTRIBUTE).getSimpleType()
                    .getFieldLabel();
