Changing scaling factor on multiple columns at once in WAD

I'm trying to create a command URL to change the scaling factor for all the columns of my report at once. I have two query structures (3 selection in one structure, 6 in the other), so based on the documentation I would have to create a URL like this (AAA/111/222 represents the 25-character structure IDs):
<SAP_BW_URL DATA_PROVIDER='DP' CMD='SET_VALUE_PROPERTIES' SCALING_FACTOR='6'
PRECISION='0' STRUCTURE_MEMBER_1='AAA' STRUCTURE_MEMBER_2='111'
CMD_1='DATA_PROVIDER=DP&CMD=SET_VALUE_PROPERTIES&SCALING_FACTOR=6&PRECISION=0&
STRUCTURE_MEMBER_1=AAA&STRUCTURE_MEMBER_2=222' CMD_2=...>
...and so on, with 18 separate command sequences. Is there an easier way to do this? I don't think I could spell out all 18 combinations anyway (AAA/111, AAA/222, AAA/333, BBB/111, BBB/222, ... , FFF/333) since I believe there is a limit to how long a command URL can be.
If I change the scaling factor in the properties box for one of the columns in the 3-item structure, it changes it for all 6 times that column appears in the report, but I can't reproduce this with a command URL.
We're running BW 3.0B.
Thanks,
Jason

  • How to change font attributes on multiple paths at once?

I am trying to change font size on multiple paths at once but as soon as I select them the font options become unavailable (greyed out).
Is it possible to do it?

Willi is essentially correct but I think his message is being drowned out by the allcaps enthusiasm
If you select multiple paths with the Selection tool (the black arrow) then you cannot alter type formatting directly. Seasoned InDesign users rarely manipulate type by direct formatting; instead we apply a paragraph style to all of the type, and then change the paragraph style. If all the text on those paths was marked with the same paragraph style, then you could just change the style.
You could do it other ways, but they're all suboptimal. For instance, if all of your text-on-path was set at 11 points, and no other type was set at 11 points anywhere in your document, you could use Find/Change to specify a Find Format and a Change Format under More Options. If all of the paths were marked with the same Object Style, then you could make a new Paragraph Style and specify it in the Object Style.
But if you drew those paths by hand, then they have the Basic Graphics Frame object style applied (like everything else you drew in the document) and if you didn't style the text then every bit of text has the Basic Paragraph style applied (like every other bit of text in the document). So you're either going to do it by hand, or... you're going to follow Willi's allcaps advice.

  • Changing scaling factor for each cell in Bex Analyzer

    Hi,
We have a query with 2 structure (1 structure in rows, 1 in columns). We execute the query with Bex Analyzer in Excel.
We would like to change the scaling factor for each cell. If we use the function 'Properties' for the active cell (context menu), we can change the scaling factor only for one cell.
Is it possible to change it for the complete table?
We use BI 7.0, patch 14.
    Thanks,

  • WAD: function to change scaling factors

    Hi,
in the web application designer, i would like to insert a button that changes the scaling factors of certain key figures in the report.
i cannot find a function in the WAD to influence the scaling factor of a key figure.
    any help?
    thx!

    Hi,
Use the following link to find the required functions to set the scaling factors
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_sem60ep1/helpdata/en/e3/e60138fede083de10000009b38f8cf/frameset.htm
The function used is <b>SCALING_FACTOR</b> you have values next to it to display how u like.
You can define all the properties of a Query and Infoobject using the commands.

  • Changing scaling factor in web template

    Hi,
I need to change the scaling factor in a web template, which shows some different queries.
I have heard I can do that by using a specific method? Does anybody know how to change the
scaling factor for a specific web template?
    Thank you very much!
    Torben

    Hi,
I have now seen that it is possible to create an ABAP class with superclass CL_RSR_WWW_MODIFY_TABLE and override the method SCALING_FACTOR_CELL.
then I should fill in this class in the param-tag in the html.
BUT this is only possible in System 3.5, but not anymore in 7.0! Everywhere I can just find the sample coding for 3.5, but nothing for how to do this in BI 7.0...
So does anybody know, how I can use external ABAP classes as "user exits" in BI 7.0?
    Thank you for your help!

  • Filtering Multiple Columns at once....

    Hi All,
I was wondering if anybody had a smart way of filtering multiple columns. I know you can use excel formulas (index, v and h lookup etc),  to achieve this but i need to improve performance and would like to reduce the formulas in my design
    Example
                        A                B            C             D                E        F
                    Income     Budget     Profit       Profit
    1 Area 1    100           50            10            5
    2 Area 2    150           25             3             1
On the canvas I will have combox with the values Income and Profit and a scorecard component looking at columns E and F
When a user selects Income, data in A and B moves to E and F
When a suer selects Porfit, data in C and D mooves to E and F
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.....
    Bija

    HI Bija
Try using Filtered Rows as insertion type... and also try using list box instead of combo box if you have space as we should always try to apply WYSIWYG principle and combo box is not very good
    hope this helps

  • Is there any way to change user operations on multiple tracks at once?

I have a complex project (99 tracks, dozens of menus and scripts). I need to make one version of this DVD for the end client (teenagers at health clinics) who will be forced to view it in a specified way, and another version for educators (staff at the clinics) who will be allowed to fast-forward and have access to a menu from which they can jump to different points in the DVD.
I have different menus to serve as "first play" for these different versions so that I can easily switch between versions when burning disc images, and I have set up GPRMs to make navigation different for the two versions automatically. My problem now is that I want to disable forward scan, next program, root menu, and title menu for the client version. As far as I can tell, I have to do that independently for every single track and menu. Bleah. This is especially annoying since the DVD is still in development, so I am continuing to change small things and will need to keep both versions up to date as I do.
Is there any way to select multiple tracks/menus and change user operations on all of them? Or any other work-around or script that could do it? I thought this would be a perfect task for the automator, but I'm not very familiar with that application and don't know how (or if it's possible) to create new actions other than the ones that are available.
    Any ideas?
    thanks!
    Julie

Thanks. But the disc inspector only appears to let me change things like where the title menu button takes you, not detailed user operations. I have pretty much given up on this being anything other than a giant hassle, but if anybody knows whether a script could do this, I would be eternally grateful.

Ahhh, sorry for the confusion. What you need are "Collections". If you click the "Review Demonstration Applications" link then install the "Collections Showcase", this should give you a good working sample.
Collections are comprised of an HTMLDB_COLLECTIONS package and an associated table. Use the package for creating a collection and adding members (rows) and use the table to query what's in your collection.
Essentially, here's what you need to do. Let's assume your multi-row form is on page one and you have a confirmation page on page 2:
    - Create a process that fires on submit of page one that uses create_or_truncate to create your collection.
    - In the same process, loop over your collection items and add them (as members) to the collection.
    - Make sure your multi-row form queries from the collections view. This way if you go to page 2, then back to page 1, you will see your rows. When you go to page 2 again, you can just over-write the existing collection. There's another option, but I'll list that later.
    - Create a process on page 2 to loop over the collection view and insert the rows into a table. Make this conditional based on the button you press, such as "Save".
    - Extra credit: Either the collections package or the htmlb_utilities package as an md5 function. You can call this when querying the data out of the collections table, then call it again as you are looping over the data on submit. Basically, you are checksumming the row on the way out, then again when the page is submitted. If the 2 are equal, the data is unchanged. If they are not equal, the data has changed. Based on your needs, you can use this technique to insert / update records. I have an app that uses this technique because I have a before update trigger on the table that I only want to fire if the user actually updates a particular row.
    Hope this helps,
    Tyler

  • Update Multiple Columns when concerned about redo/undo log sizes.

    Hi ,
I have update statements that updates multiple columns at once if any of them is changed. What I see that even though the value of column is not changed it still increases the redo size.
Below is a sample code similar to the ones in my code. Basically I check whether there is a difference in any of the columns to be updated and update all of them.
Is there a way to improve redo log size without splitting the update statement for every column that I will be updating. Redo/Undo log size is a concern for us..
      For i In 1.rec.Count Loop
        Update employees e
           Set e.first_name = rec(i).first_name, e.last_name = rec(i).last_name
         Where e.first_name != rec(i).first_name
            Or e.last_name != rec(i).last_name;
      End Loop;My database is 10g.

    Muhammed Soyer wrote:
Redo/Undo log size is a concern for us..You are worried about the wrong thing.
If you are concerned about the amount of undo and redo, you should be less concerned about the small diffrence between updating 1 or 3 columns and remove the loop that is contributing to a massive increase in both undo and redo.
Re: global temporary table row order
    Name                                  Run1        Run2        Diff
    STAT...undo change vector size     240,500   6,802,736   6,562,236
STAT...redo size                 1,566,136  24,504,020  22,937,884Run2 shows what adding a loop to a regular SQL statement will do to undo and redo. It made the redo used 15 times greater and the undo almost 30 times greater.

  • Full text query across multiple columns

In the SQL Server, when you do the full text query, you can specify multiple columns, e.g.
    FREETEXT ( { column_name | [b](column_list) | * } , 'freetext_string' [ , LANGUAGE language_term ] )
    CONTAINS ( { column_name | [b](column_list) | * } , '< contains_search_condition>' [ , LANGUAGE language_term ])
    Where,
column_list Indicates that several columns, separated by a comma, can be specified...
    * Specifies that all columns in the table registered for full-text searching should be used to search for the given contains search condition. The columns in the CONTAINS clause must come from a single table...
That makes full text query cross multiple columns very convenient. Are there any mechnisms in Oracle to do the same thing?
    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks for your reply.
I knew that you could build full text index for the multiple columns using Oracle Text. But that does not solve my problem, which is how to build the query to search multiple columns at once. Say, I have columns firstname, lastname, address, and email in the table customers. I want to get the results that ANY column contains 'bob'. In SQL Server, I can do
select * from customers where contains(*, 'bob')
that is. But for Oracle, I have to do
select * from customers where contains('firstname', 'bob') or contains('lastname', 'bob') or contains('address', 'bob') or contains('email', 'bob')
Can you imagine if I have many columns in many tables and I have to do the query against all columns in all tables? I have to dynamically get all the columns and then build the query string.
    So, any better solutions?

  • Multiple Cell Selection Scaling Factor Issue within BEX

We have a report which we need to create views from where each view is simply a different scaling factor within 20 rows of a 50 row query.
Within WEB reporting, you can simply select all the cells you want, and then select the proper scaling via the context menu.
When you try to do the same thin in BEX though, only the first cell that is selected within the total selection is changed to the desired scaling factor selected.
So...is this a bug?  ...and/or how can we selectively change the scaling for multiple cells within BEX?
You can of course selectively choose which figures should have a specific scaling, but we need views saved and not queries for this....and to my knowledge you can't save views out of query designer.
    any thoughts?

When you try to do the same thin in BEX though, only the first cell that is selected within the total selection is changed to the desired scaling factor selected.
are you trying to do this with cell references or are you doing it for the entire row/ column ?
you can create cell refernces for the cells that require differenr scaling factor in the query designer and then using cell properties you can define a scaling factor of your choice.
To create a cell refence simply double click that cell OR right click>create new cell refernce.
then you will be able to see cell properties where you can define desired properties.
    Hope this helps you.

  • Is there a way to format multiple images at once? Change colour mode or resolution?

Is there a way to format multiple images at once? Change colour mode or resolution?

It's very easy to make an action.
    Go to window > actions
In the actions panel, simply click the 'create a new action' button, it starts recording as soon as you've created it (when you've given it a name).
Now you can apply the changes you want to make to the images on the file you have opened.
After you've done all you need to do. You click the 'stop' button. The action is now ready to use. And you can apply the changes you made on all the other files.
Then you can continue how gener7 explained.
I usually include a save and close command, so that the whole batch doesn't end up opened after running the script.
But if you do that you have to create a new file, and save it to your computer before you start recording the action, otherwise the save command will be replaced by each file. And you'll end up with one edited file in the end. At least for as far as I know!

  • How can I preserve row and column addresses on multiple cells at once in Numbers?

How can I preserve row and column addresses on multiple cells at once in Numbers 3.2.2? I do a lot of rearranging and sorting and want to reference cells in other sheets. After entering the formulas (example: '=Sheet1::Table 1::H126') I will sort the table and the formulas will not move with the sort.  I think I can fix this by going cell by cell checking the 'preserve row' and 'preserve column' boxes when editing the formula.  I want to avoid having to go one by one.  I know that checking the boxes creates a formula like this: '=Sheet1::Table 1::$H$126'  I have also tried entering this manually and filling down but it doesn't include the preservations (the $$) in the autofill.  If there is another way to remedy my sorting problem that would also be welcomed!
    THANKS!!

The title of the post is this
How can I preserve row and column addresses on multiple cells at once in Numbers?
I restated the Question as follows
Can "Preserve Row" an / or "Preserve Column" be set on multiple cells at the same time.
In both cases it is not asked if multiple cells can be set to....
    That is a given.
Step back a second...  It is like selecting multiple cells and setting the text color of the currently selected cells to red. This can be done. More than one cell at a time modified because they are currently selected.
Whats is being asked is:  if more than one cell is selected at the same time can the settings "Preserve Row" an / or "Preserve Column" be applied. No table I put up will help with that question.
    YES or NO
    If YES how?

  • Changing the display profile for multiple users at once.

Is it possible to change the display profile for multiple users at once? We would like ot be able ot add tabs and channels globally, but right now we can anly do it for once user at a time. Also, is it possible to have certain generic display profiles that all users use? like an admin profile and a tech support profile and a normal suer profile? Any help is appreciated...

Yes this possible using the dpadmin batch command.
Please check the dpadmin documentation for the batch command.
For generic display profile what you can do is create users and assign the user particular roles. The display you would be creating would be for the roles. The users belonging to that role would inherit that display profile.
