Changing the ProgressBar component

Hello there, I was just wondering, is there a way to change the way the ProgressBar component looks like? for example I'd like to keep its functionality but change its progress bar to a circular animation maybe?
Any help would be so much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Make your animation inside of a movie clip. Go to main timeline. Put an instance of the ProgressBar on stage. Click to highlight. In your Parameters panel, change mode to Manual. Enter ProgressBar. Place your animation on frame 1 of the top most layer.
(Optional)
Delete out the other layers in the ProgressBar. In the Library, in the Component Assets folder, delete the ProgressBarSkin folder.

Check out the Component Reference... you change the icon for
a single node, as far as I know there's no automated process beyond
that. So assuming your tree component instance is named "theTree"
you might do this to change the icon of the first node:
theTree.dataProvider = yourXML; // make sure you don't try to
change the icon before you load data into the tree
var theNode = theTree.getTreeNodeAt(0); // the first node in
your tree
theTree.setIcon(theNode,'myIcon'); // set the icon
Where "myIcon" is a MovieClip you have in your library that
you have set the "linkage identifier" as "myIcon".
That iconFunction doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me,
because first of all I don't know why it would be attached to
theTree, and second it's referring to "item" which is not defined,
and third its taking the parameter "node" and not doing anything
with it. But perhaps there is some cool way to make a single
function which handles icons for your entire tree automatically,
that would certainly be nice.
However, like I said, as far as I know that function will do
nothing without calling tree.setIcon() in some way. I just made a
function which might do what you want -- it recursively loops
through an entire tree and sets it's icon based on the XML
attribute "icon":

Procedure:
1. create a new software component in SLD
2. create a new version of this software component in SLD
3. import in into the repository
4. try using release transfer to transfer objects
from old on to the new one

How do you change the Tree Component Icons?

Hi,
I have been trying to get to grips with the tree component. I
want to
customise it so that I can have a different icon for each
different link.
E.g. a QT logo for a video etc. If no valuse is found for the
'icon'
attribute it will just display the default.
Within my XML file I have created a new attribute for each
link called
'icon' and has a value of 'movie.gif' or something similar.
In my flash file, I have created the following code:
theTree.iconFunction = function (node:XMLNode) {
var iconNode:String = item.attributes.icon;
if (iconNode != undefined) {
return iconNode;
However, it does not seem to work. My knowledge of
ActionScript is pretty
poor so I assume I have made a mistake in there somewhere.

Using the progressbar component in AS 2

hey all,
i'm playing around with the progress bar component included
in CS3 and am a bit stuck.
the tutorials i've read that discuss using this component
don't explain how to use it to target the nested movie clip it's
contained in. one tutorial i found says to use _root as the source,
but it drills up to the parent.
how can i get around this?

i don't know, are you sure it's not alt+f4?

Trying to change the labels for some UI elements

hi,
Problem: I am trying to change the labels for some UI elements and transport the views from one server to another server.
the lables show changed in the source server but the changes dont reflect in the destination server

The process is as explained:
1.     Firstly, go to the respective view, and to the Label and then delete the Label Text as
                mentioned in the attribute u2018TEXTu2019 of the Label in the view.
2.     Next, Activate the View, if it asks for a change request, please assign it to a new TR.
3.     Finally give the Label text again and then Save it and activate it.
4.     Further transport the request to ECP and find the difference.
This especially happens when we frequently change the WD Component and embedd it entirely in the Transport.
I hope this information would be of a great help to all of us.

Implementing reusable Progressbar component

hello,
I want to make a ProgressBar that is Reusable, that is once developed, it
should simply be reusable with any other applications which may require this
functionality.
The ProgressBar Component that i want to develop should include the
following functionalities:
1. It should show the progress as a Percentage.
2. it should also show me the total bytes that have been transferred so far,and
calculate and show me the remaining bytes left so far to transfer(I want this
feature as i am going to use this progressbar in file uploading)
3. it should also show me the total file uploading time required,time elapsed so
far and the total time left to upload the file.
Can anyone help as regards the above tasks?
Any help would be dearly appreciated...

Thanks, Mr Dylen for the Link u gave me, but i had already gone thru that,
what i basically wanted to know was how to implement this ProgressBar as
a Reusable Component in such a way that it can be simply merged with any other application, that might need a similar functionality.
Once again i say, i want to develop it as a Independent Module, so that it
can be merged with any other application.
Secondly, that Link which u gave and which (i had gone thru already before u gave me) doesn't specify anything about how to calculate bytes transferred, bytes received,bytes remaining, time elapsed,time left etc...
the issues which i raised in my 2nd and 3rd points(if u read my query carefully).
so where and how do i get the code for my above functionality?
so i am still looking forward to a complete response to my same earlier query.

ProgressBar Component and Streaming Video

Is it possible to connect the ProgressBar component to an
FLVPlayback component which is streaming?

Unless the video is completely downloaded to the iMac you can not rule out the Internet connection.
Since it plays all other video with no problem the downloading stream would seem to be the source of the problem.
I had cable modem and it is no guarantee of a fast connection. Also even having a fast connection on one end doesn't mean that the source of the video is pushing it all that fast.

How to disable or change the value of h:commandlink jsf component

Hi,
I am a student. I am using h:commandlink. I need to change the value of the component once it is clicked by the user. How do i do that?
If i cannot change the displayed value of the commandlink. I am thinking of atleast disabling the link once the user clicked., to avoid the link being clicked more than once by the user.

Thanks for getting back to me. you are right , i should disable the link as soon as it is clicked. I went ahead and implemented this logic by using a property in my bean class and binding that property to the value of my link. I wrote the logic in my action method in such a way that when i click on follow for the first time, the value of the link would change to 'Following' and the link would be disabled. It works for me now.

In GET_S_STRUCT method iam getting all attributes but serial number is not filled..So could you please help here what to do..

Changing the default icon of a af:inputDate component

I want to change the icon of an af:inputDate component.
I discovered two solutions, but they are imcomplete solution.
Solution 1:

Problem: When I press the icon whith the mouse button and wait still appear a default icon while mouse button is pressioned.
Solution 2:

Problem: This solution works on Internet Explorer, but in Mozilla Firefox the new icon cover partially the default image but still possible to see a piece of the defaul icon.
Observation: My new icon is 16 x 16 pixels.
I believe that the solution 1 is better, but i think is missing a piece of code, there is a billion of icon states, core, busy, compact, depressed, selected , etc.

There's a topic about this in the Flash help, about changing
components. You need to edit the file inside your Flash
installation folder, and make a copy of it to your liking.
But about radio buttons: is there any way to include them in
your project while maintaining the possibility of on(Keypress)
events?

FPM - How to change the title in a component configuration

Hello,
I am working with the component configuration EHHSS_INC_REC_NRM_QAF_V3 (version 7.31) and I need to change the title of the tab. I created an OTR with the text "Report Near Miss test". I changed the application title and I also change the tooltip text in the IDR to this OTR.
When I executed it, I only see the modication on the tooltip. Why the application title is not shown with the modification? How can I modify also the tab and the title?
