Checked In Icon versus Checked Out Icon

In Dreamweaver 8, there are icons to show when users have
checked something out, the icon (if you are the user) is a green
check mark, the icon (if checked out by another user) is a red
check mark, for many that are color deficient, this is an obstacle,
it is already a small icon, and at that small size it is difficult
to distinguish between the green and red checkmarks.
I have run a search in the program files to identify where
this image or icon is located, I have run a search in Google's
search engine, in Adobe's Web site, I have called Customer Support,
I have called Technical Support, I have run a search in these Adobe
forums, I have not been able to find anything to identify where
these icons are located or how to solve this dilemna. If anyone
knows of anything to help me in this problem it would be much
appreciated.
Thank you.

a guess is the images are in a compiled part of the
application and not
editable unless mucking around with a hex editor.
maybe this might help-
you could expand the Files panel, then click the checkin
status header to
sort the files by their status?
of course now the files aren't in the sort order you were
using before.

    out.flush();
now if i want same icon on document which is checked Out , how can i do it
    Regards

This could be achieved with the custom component which will modify how Content server displays search result or other page with content info. For the correct method of inserting icon I would look into the way how Records Management add, inside document title, specific icon for records.

  • Synchronization versus check-in versus check-out

I have read manuals , the "help" files and continue to be somewhat confused. I just now "synchronized" my files in CS3 after having a developer help me to get my website started. In the process I saw "put" (where are they being put?) but also when I create a new web page I see the message "check-in" files being process and then when I complete my page I have been "checking in". Please give guidelines:  now that I am "on my own" do I need to both "check-in" and "synchronize"?  The terminology  is confusing.  Thank you for your help   Rosalyn

The synchronization command will make sure that the same files on the public server are the same as those on your local computer.  When you see the put command, that is when the file is put from your computer onto the server where your website is accessed by people on the internet.
The check-in/check-out features are more for if you have a team of developers who are actively working on the same site.  What this will do is allow for other developers to see that someone else is editing a file and prevent them from editing the file at the same time.  So the files are checked out and checked back in.

  • After userA check out a page, edit the page and save, Sharepoint prompt userA have checked out the page

In one of site collection at our SP2013 farm, we have "SharePoint Server Publishing" site feature and "SharePoint Server Publishing Infrastructure" site collection feature activated.
One of user (UserA) create a page in a page library. The new page is marked as "checked out by UserA". It is fine.
Then UserA open the page -> edit page -> key in something and "save". Then the page prompt him "The file Pages/subfolder/test001.aspx has been modified by i:0#.w|test\userA on 8Aug2014 xx:xx:xx" and ask him to choose "Leave
this page" or "say at this page".  The date time is exactly the time he was editing the page.
Whatever he choose will save the page and return to "View" mode (non-edit mode).
It is not the only problem. When userA want to edit the same page again and save, it prompt him that "The page could not be saved because your changes conflict with recent changes made by another user. If you continue, your changes will be lost."!
When userA choose continue or "check out". Follow screen show up:
What can we do? In summary, userA cannot edit a page because userA have checked out! We have tried for different users have exactly same issue.

We are having the same problem, the one thing we have found is if we use the Save Icon on the top right hand side of the page in the ribbon (next to follow), that Save works just fine.  What is causing the issue is when trying to use the Save Icon on
the left hand side of the ribbon that has the dropdown options to 'Save', 'Save and Keep Editing' or 'Stop Editing'.  It doesn't matter if you just click on the main Icon or choose any of the dropdown options, they all cause issues with the pages.
    Thoughts?

  • Can't check in or check out in the workbench

    Hello,
We have set up a new installation of LiveCycle ES with weblogic. Everything seems to be working fine but we can't check-in or check out files.
Actually, a new file can be created and checked-in to the repository only once. Further modifications of the files can't be checked in (the option in the right-click menu is grayed), and the little arrow on the icon does not appear after a check out.
There is no error message (nor popup, nor specific line in the logs)
Same problem on different computers so it seems to be a problem on the server side.
Any idea on how to solve this ?

    Installing SP2 didn't solve the problem. http://blogs.adobe.com/ADEP/2010/10/livecycle-es2-sp2-now-available-for-download.html

  • Help. MacbookPro9,1 w/ 840 SSD not booting after 10.9.2 update.  Drive checks out fine, and works well w/ 10.9.1

    Hi Everyone.
My Macbook has been running fine on 10.9.1.  When I installed the update, the computer won't boot up.  It stays on the apple logo.  I tried Safe Mode, resetting PRAM/NRAM, Single User Mode etc., nothing.
I scanned and repaired permissions on the drive, but everytime the drive itself checks out fine.  So I did a time machine restore, and everything works well (10.9.1).  Figured it was just a fluke, so I attempted to update again.  Same issue!
Booting in verbose mode gave me the following:
The only thing that I can think of from trying to read around in all the multiple posts is that maybe 10.9.2 doesn't like my SSD?

If you don't already have a current backup, back up all data, then reinstall the OS.* You don't need to erase the startup volume, and you won't need the backup unless something goes wrong. If the system was upgraded from an older version of OS X, you may need the Apple ID and password you used.
If you use FileVault 2, then before running the Installer you must launch Disk Utility and select the icon of the FileVault boot volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name.) It will be nested below another icon with the same name. Click the Unlock button in the toolbar and enter your login password when prompted. Then quit Disk Utility to be returned to the main screen.
There are ways to back up a computer that isn't fully functional. Ask if you need guidance.
If you installed the Java runtime distributed by Apple and still need it, you'll have to reinstall it. The same goes for Xcode.
*The linked support article refers to OS X 10.9 ("Mavericks"), but the procedure is the same for OS X 10.7 ("Lion") and later.

  • How to show the checked-out symbol in list of files in a folder

    Hi,
When the folder is selected it is showing all the files in that folder. But, the user would not know which file had been checked out. In general it should show the lock symbol (As similar to Documentum, webtop) when a file had been checked out by some other user.
How to show the lock/key column in list of files. Any other way to find a file had been checked out or not instead of going into the content information.
Also, how do we add additional columns like author etc... to the list of files screen in UCM?
    Please help

You should double check, but I don't believe that the check-out info is in the resultset. Because that information isn't available, the state of each row in the search results table cannot be defined. So, the first hurdle would be to add that info to the dataset.
The second hurdle would be to alter the UI to leverage that info (e.g., the key icon when checked out).
If you're looking to alter the folder views, then look to the COLLECTION_DISPLAY service & related template. Other views (e.g., search results) have different templates and backing services.

  • Can't check out one file individually

    Hi
I am on Dreamweaver CS5 on PC and have this weird problem where when I click on an individual file on the "Remote Server" side of the file menu and then press the "Get" icon - Dreamweaver keeps asking me "Are you sure you want to check out the entire site?". The only available options at this point are Ok and Cancel.
Anybody experienced this problem before? I have no way of checking out individual files!
    Cheers
    Graham

Are you the only one working on this site?  If so, you should disable the check-in/check-out option as it really has no benefit UNLESS you are working from several different locations and are concerned about version control.
Have you tried just double clicking on the local file instead of your procedure?  That will always force the GET and CO of the remote file.

  • Record Check out/in - Data Mgr

I have some records that have the gray (original) checkout icon in the column. There are only three of us who may have checked these records out and we've all tried the following:
    1. When we try to join the checkout, we get the message that these records are not checked out. 2. If we try to delete these records we get the message that the record is already checked out.
We all have standard delivered Catalog Manager security. Version 5.5 SP5. Does anyone have any clue as to how we either delete these records or get them checked in. Is there any way to tell who might have checked a record out? This is our development system, but I figure if it happened here it could also happen in production.

If you are in a desperate situation you can always run these SQL queries:
The database name "MDMTEST_M000" should be replaced with the actual database name of your repository.
            DELETE from MDMTEST_M000.A2I_DATA_10_WFUSER;
            DELETE from MDMTEST_M000.A2I_DATA_10_WFSTEP;
            DELETE from MDMTEST_M000.A2I_DATA_10_WFLAUNCHEDDATA;
            DELETE from MDMTEST_M000.A2I_DATA_10_WFJOB;
This is for 5.5 SP05, the table structure is a bit different in SP06, but you'll be able to tell the difference in table names when you look at the database.
I haven't run these on SP06, you will experience some data loss.  I would do an archive of the repository first.

  • Business process check-in/check-out - who has checked out and when?

We have been using the business process check-in/check-out functionality for 18 months and there are an increasing number of process's that have been checked out to the maintenance project and never checked in again. Is there a straight forward way in the system to see who had checked out a business process and when? When using the SOLMAN_DIRECTORY transaction it is easy to see which process's are checked out as they are marked the red OUT symbol and have check-out status = checked out - but no other information about the check-out seems to be available either in this transaction or on a separate report.

    Hello Steve,
What Peter neglected to tell you is once you enable history on the Solution a history log will begin to populate.
It will show as the standard "Log" icon for HISTORY. Every change will be logged at each level of the structure.
Here is an example of a History log line....while it is not a check-in.out change it will give you an idea
Name             Date             Time              Change                               Object                           Old Value           New Value
    I809573     24.01.2011     22:33:32     Process Availability     Material Management          7 x 24 h
What you can do is filter the report on the values that will give you the check-in/check out against the objects you want to track.
This is how you can use the "Enable History" to get the information you are interested it.
Just two things to be aware of : 1) The history will not be retro active (unless it was already enabled), so it will start from the day you enable logging (history), and logs take up space, which at some point maintenance will likely be required, however I don't see these logs having high disk usuage.
If it were documents that you wanted a report on check-in/check-out for, you likely could use the transaction Solar_Eval under Documents, but there are no standard reports for this...and filtering the History log file accordingly is about the best reporting
that would give a result. This log file can be printed, or you could capture the printoutput to a file and there is your Electronic version of the report.
    I hope this has helped.
    Regards,
    Paul

  • Item Check out/in in content areas published as portlet

I have a content area I have published as a portlet. I have noticed that if I add an item (a file) and enable item check out, the icon to check out the file doesn't appear in the portlet. You have to open the content area in the content area navigation page to get the check out/in icon (and a few others.) Is there a way to do this inside the portlet?
    Thanks
    null

This is the intended behaviour, to simplify the portlet interface. You'll notice, too, that you can't edit a checked-out item in the portlet.
This will all change in the 3.1 release of the product.
    Regards,
    Jerry

  • Cannot Check Out files in DreamWeaver 5.5

I have several websites hosted by the same company. Now when I use DreamWeaver 5.5 to visit these sites, I can see the files on the server and I can see my local files. But when viewing local files, I need to be able to Check Out files, edit them, save them and then check them back in so they get uploaded to the server.
In my current state, the Check Out File(s) icon is grayed out.
    Thanks!

Go to Site > Manage Sites and choose the one you want to add Check In/Out to.
Go under the Basic tab and hit Next until you get to "Do you want to enable checking in and checking out..." switch the radio button to Yes.
Note: this is how you would turn it on in DWCS4, I'm assuming 5 isn't much different.

  • JDev-SCM Check Out File Version

When using the RON, I have been able to successfully check out a specific version of a file using the graphical Version History Viewer (and right clicking on the appropriate node).
When attempting the same within the 9i JDeveloper IDE, however, this functionality does not appear to work the same/correctly? The node turns blue (and SCM believes the file version is checked out), but JDeveloper does not appear to reflect the same....the icon in the System Navigator does not change to indicate the file's checked out status and the specific version of the file is not written to the workarea's download directory (as is the case with the RON)....?

This is Release Candidate 2 on Win2K with the Windows Look & Feel. I have tried the Oracle L&F, too, with the same outcome. The same steps in the RON, however, produce the desired result.
    Thanks.

  • Can I disable the check in check out system?

Have a site that was built using the check in check out
process to allow for multiple users.
As it is now, even the simplest update of a couple pages
requires that DW read the entire site (takes about 10 minutes) and
then finally allows me to upload the new files.
Is there an easy way, like Golive, where when you hit the
sync button, only the new local files immediately get uploaded, or
do I have to go through the file comparing process?
I don't see any easy way to do this with the "put" button. I
figured it it once, but it's one of those things not in help.
Also, once the files are finally compared, and I am given a
list of the new files to update, all of them are marked not to
upload (international no sign) I had to manually change each of
    them to "put".
This program is blowing my tiny mind.

    panel menu is a
choice to select recently modified files
    > Always forget how to do this. Those menus expand a few
    ways, it's always
    confusing
IN DW8 (probably in later versions too) if you look at the
    right of your
screen in DW (assuming you have the default setup), same
    "row" as the
"connected to the server" icon you'll see a square within a
    square with an
arrow pointing diagonally right and up. That's the "Expand to
    show local and
remote sites" button. Select it and you will have both local
    and remote
    sites displayed.
Now select (from the menubar at the top) Edit > Select
    Recently Modified and
    choose the number of days.
    Hope this helps.
