Checking for string

Question

i now doing a student system.
Accepting student number ....

System.out.println("Student Number:");
s =in.readLine();
student_no =Integer.parseInt(s);
if(student_no<10000||student_no>100000)
System.out.println("Invalid student number.");
studentNo_valid = true;
else break;
}while(studentNo_valid);
Student had to enter their student number between 10000 - 99999
my Question is how to use try and catch to check if that when student enter string .. it will give warning to student

Integer.parseInt
new Integer(String)
and java.text.DecimalFormat
and pick the one that works for you.
