Checking the select statment

hi,
the select statment is
SELECT SINGLE * FROM edidc WHERE docnum = l_docnum AND direct = '1' AND status = '3' AND mestyp = 'OILSHL'.
there is an entry in the table edidc for the mentioned conditions.
but it is returning sy-subrc = 4.
please check what  is the wrong in the statement and provide me the solution for that.
it is very urgent......
thanks in advance....

<b>please  use the below  program for getting it</b>  ....

  • Adhoc Query : Error during selection; check the selection conditions

    Hi
We have a report set-up and which we want to run using our adhoc query report tcode S_PH0_48000513
The report, has a few different selection criteria in it to look at all action IT screen data in the system for ee's in specific personnel areas. There is also a criteria to allow us to paste in specific employee numbers we are interested in. The issue I am facing is that over about 3000 ids, the system automatically returns me a message when I click on the Output button to run the report which states:
Error during selection; check the selection conditions
    Message no. PAIS206
I am not sure why this is happening. The selection criteria are fine and the other day I ran the report and I experienced no issues. The report ran successfully. Now though, if I try and paste in all the ids I am interested in (about 8000) I get this message straightaway.
Can anything be done to overcome this issue?
Any advice would be much appreciated.
    Nicola

    Hi
    The message in full is:
Error during selection; check the selection conditions
    Message no. PAIS206
    Diagnosis
A runtime error occurred during dynamic selection.
    System response
The runtime error will be caught; no short dump will be created. This error should not occur as a rule. However, very large select statements may trigger the runtime error SAPSQL_STMNT_TOO_LARGE or DBIF_RSQL_INVALID_RSQL. There is no way to prevent this happening. In this case, the error can only be caught.
    Procedure
Check the selection conditions to see whether the error was caused because the option "Import from text file" included too many objects in the "Multiple selection" dialog. If this is so, you must limit the number of individual values.

  • Using distinct and orderby in the select statment

    Hi All,
Can anyone tell me what is the purpose of using distinct and orderby in the select statment.

    Hi,
Using the distinct function with more than one column yields some substantial results. SQL will return the rows with distinct or unique combinations of those columns. Assume this same employee table has another column including the salary of each employee. With the use of the distinct function we can pull a list of unique job titles - salaries.
    SQL Code:
    SELECT DISTINCT job_titles, salary FROM employees;
SQL has returned all the rows with unique combinations of job titles and salaries. Any duplicate combinations of job titles and salaries will be ignored. For example if we had two CEOs in the table making the same salary each year, only one row would be returned but if we had two CEOs with different salaries, both rows would be returned.
    Order by
The SQL ORDER BY clause comes in handy when you want to sort your SQL result sets by some column(s). For example if you want to select all the persons from the already familiar Customers table and order the result by date of birth, you will use the following statement:
    SELECT * FROM Customers
    ORDER BY DOB
As you can see the rows are sorted in ascending order by the DOB column, but what if you want to sort them in descending order? To do that you will have to add the DESC SQL keyword after your SQL ORDER BY clause:
    SELECT * FROM Customers
    ORDER BY DOB DESC
If you don't specify how to order your rows, alphabetically or reverse, than the result set is ordered alphabetically, hence the following to SQL expressions produce the same result:
    SELECT * FROM Customers
    ORDER BY DOB
    SELECT * FROM Customers
    ORDER BY DOB ASC
You can sort your result set by more than one column by specifying those columns in the SQL ORDER BY list. The following SQL expression will order by DOB and LastName:
    SELECT * FROM Customers
    ORDER BY DOB, LastName
    if its useful reward points

  • I am trying to sync a playlist to my Nano,  but when I click on the Music tab at the top, it will not allow me to select the option Selected Playlist, Artists, etc.  I cannot un-check the Entire Music library option and check the Selected Artist - on

I am trying to sync a playlist to my Nano,  but when I click on the Music tab at the top,
it will not allow me to select the option Selected Playlist, Artists, etc.  I cannot un-check the Entire Music library
option and check the Selected Artist … one.
I have changed the Sync option to Manually sync, but that does not help.
How can I change this to the second option?
    Thanks.

There is a checkbox above those two options for how to sync.  It says Sync Music; it enables automatic syncing.  That box needs to be checked before you can select from the two options for how automatic syncing is performed.
NOTE:  If the iPod is current set up to Manually manage music [and videos], checking that Sync Music box replaces its current content with content from your iTunes library, based on how automatic syncing is set up on that screen.
So, if your goal is to add ONE playlist to an iPod that is managed manually, you do not want to do this because iTunes will erase the iPod's current content and replace it with just that ONE selected playlist (and whatever else you select on that Music settings screen).
Instead, if the iPod currently uses the manual setting, you need to add playlists manually to the iPod (not use the automatic syncing setting).  Please post back with more details about your situation.

  • How to check the selected items of a selectManyListbox in doDML of an EO ?

    Hello,
I have a VO based on en EO. During the doDML(UPDATE) of that EO, I would like to check what items of a af:selectManyListbox have been selected.
How could I get the checked items in the selectManyListbox (which belongs to the ViewController) in the doDML method of an EO (which belongs to the Model)?
    Many thanks

    Hello John,
I know I cannot access the component directly. This is why I asked my question.
The real case is rather complex and long to be copied and pasted here.
Let me simplify it without being too generic.
The VO is based on a hierarchical SQL query. All its EO attributes are transient. This VO is shown as a Tree in the page.
Each node of the Tree has a checkBox. During commit (doDML() of the EO to be precise), for each checked node I need to access the selected items of a selectManyListbox in some proper way to perform further operations on the DB (no matter what now). The selectManyListbox is based on a second VO. As you may understand, the problem is that from the EO I don't have a direct access to the selectManyListbox. Also, as far as I know, the VO the selectManuListBox is based on does not have any informations about the selected elements, since the checkBox in the list cannot be associated to the VO. Basically I cannot know what elements have been choosen.
I hope the problem is clear.

    Dear All,
We are uploading data from various excel sheets into SAP tables. Now at selection screen I just want to check if the location specified exists or not ie. if I have created one variant on one system & then if I am running that report from other system using the variants, since the files does not exists it should throw the error and should return to the selection screen to enter the new parameters.

  • How can i check the selection profile

    Hi Friends,
In BS42 have assigned selection  status profile to status profile and few status are assigned to status profile(CRTD, APRV and REL)
In BS42 i can assign one type of status profile(say XXX) to more than on type of selection profiles(say AAA;BBB;CCC).
Now I am creating a appropriation request (AR). Now have approved AR. and if I check in AR-->Control data tab and clicking on display status overview i m getting here asystem and user status overview and after scrolling down I can see the status profile.
Now in AR how can I check that which type of selection status  profile it is choosing though I am able to see the status profile.
    Any pointers
    Regards
    Ashutosh

status selection profile is used to restrcit the selection of objects from the database
if you AR with REL and the status selection profile allows REL then this AR will be se;ected and displayed in the report.
You cannot see the status selection profile in any tabs on the object as you can see the system ans user status

    Hi,
You must enclose the name of the table in braces to let the compiler know that the value will be supplied at run time.
    For example -
    tables mara.
    data table_name(30) type c.
    table_name = 'MARA'.
    SELECT *
      FROM (table_name)
    endselect.

  • Is it possible to change the select statment in a Materialized view.?

I need to make this change on two instances. One instance is running on 10.2.3 and the other on 8.1.7. The business solutions team wants me to change the business logic and hence this change. To the best of my knowledge i know it is not possible. I want to create the snapshot with the same name so I dont have to change the views using this snapshot. Please let me know the process for dropping the snapshot as well.
    Regards,
    BMP

    No DBA around?
This may take a few more tasks than drop an recreate the snapshot (i.e. recompiling schema objects).
Take into consideration that the new snapshot must have the same columns (at least the name) of the previous one, in order to not cause compilation errors.
    Max.

  • How come I cant unsync music from my iPhone, even when I've checked the "selected playlist, artists etc" box?

Ive tried many times to unsync music from my iphone by unchecking the boxes but they still appear in my music library. I dont want to delete the songs I just want to take them off my phone to create space. I'm not sure why this wont work help!

Thank you for the suggestions. In response to the playlist possibility, I don't have a playlist made. I intentionally deleted it thinking that might be the problem.
As far as swiping the songs to delete them, I was able to delete the majority of the ones I didn't want by doing this. But these particular ones will not delete by swiping to the left. If I try that they will begin to play.

Is there any better way to check the selected character is an XML open/close tag character in the text instead of using the unicode.
    Thanks in advance
    Thiyagu

I'm having trouble understanding your requirements. I think you're trying to remove the zero-width non-breaking spaces that don't hold tags. Is that right?
If that's the case, you don't really have to worry about the tags. You can do a normal find and replace:
    app.findTextPreferences.findWhat = "<feff>";
    app.changeTextPreferences.changeTo = "";
    app.activeDocument.changeText();
It will match the characters that hold the tags, but won't remove them. Actually, it will say it removed them, but won't actually do it—or will replace them immediately? I don't know.
(As far as I know, there is no way to match the 0xfeffs with a grep find, which is what it looks like you were trying. It would be super awesome if there weren't as many different  notations for unicode characters as there are means of finding them.)
If you're trying to remove the characters that hold the tags, I think your only option is to untag the elements. You can't remove the 0xfeffs but keep the tags.

  • Dynamic field in select statment.

    Hello,
I created a report in which i have two checkboxes in the selection screen. The first checkbox is for the option to bring or not, initial purchase requisitions (BANFN) from EKPO and the second is to bring initial or not, RFQs
(ANFNR). I want the select statment to have this form:
    select ...
    from ekpo
    into g_table
    where ..
    and dynamic field = " ".
    Can this be done ?
i tried to put it as a string but it didnt work. (data: dynamic field type string value "EKPO-BANFN")
P.S i know that it can be by writing the same select code twice.
I just wonder if this can be done by this way
    \Regards.

    Hey Nick,
I have more conditions than the one i said before , should all be in the lv_where_clause ?
    check my code.

  • How can I get the selected action of content type by javascript from Firefox Options Applications?

I works on my website, and it have to check the PDF file will be opened in which plugins
So we have to implement some javascript to check the selected action of Content Type from Tool>Options>Application
Do we have any javascript code to check this

You can't check this with code that runs on the server or via JavaScript in the web page.
Note that current Firefox version do not expose the built-in PDF Reader via the navigator.plugin array, so if you can't detect a plugin than maybe assume that the built-in PDF reader is used with Firefox version 19 and later.
