Chunk expression .color returning error
Greetings, this one shoudl be so simple it is driving me
crazy. I'm trying to test and set the color of a word in a text
field, containing ten comma separated words, as follows in Dir 8.5
message window:
put member("test").text
-- "one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine,
ten"
I can select a single word and set a color for it via the
color picker.
However, I can't seem to figure out how to return or set the
color of a word-chunk via lingo:
put member("test").word[3].color
produces a Script Error: Wrong number of parameters.
I've also tried this using other chunks like item, line and
char.
In the docs under "color" this example is given so it appears
that it should work:
member("myQuotes").char[4..7].color = rgb(200, 150, 75)
When I modify the field name and try this exact statememt, I
still get the same error when setting or returning the .color
property.
I figher it has to be something simple. Tried searching this
forum back several years but no luck. Can anyone help? Thanks
If you have MX or lower I believe there are two problems with
the field member (as opposed to a text member which should work
with the posted syntax).
Problem 1 is that the fields don't have a color property on
an individual chunk.
You can however use the older foreColor.
Problem 2 is that the fields require verbose syntax when
referring to chunks.
set the foreColor of word 2 of member "test" to 128

Expression must return the interface type in Transformation Step in BPM
hi,
We are getting below while activating the IP,
Expression must return the interface type SI_Send_AA
Expression must return the interface type SI_Get_AA
No semantic errors found
We have a Transformation Step in BPM,
In OM, Source is SI_Send_AA and Target is SI_Get_AA
Also Container variable points to the same Abstract SI's.
Few Thread's for Same are error are:
Error in BPM
expression must return the interface type
Transformation step in ccBPM scenario
Error while compiling Business Process
Even after checking these i am getting this Exception.
Please Help!
Thanks,
MayankAlso Container variable points to the same Abstract SI's
Are you sure that you are using Abstract Message Interfaces only and that these are referring to relevant container variables.
Normally it happens that there is some mis-match between the message types/ interfaces that we use in the mapping and that we use in the BPM.
If still not solved, then delete the Transformation step --> save --> activate......then again Edit the BPM to include the Transformation Step.

"Your server is not configured properly or your search query has exceeded the limit, Please check server configuration"
Can i disable this settting or is there any parameter for me to turn ?This error could be due to a restriction at the Directory Server end or due to a restriction at the UWC/CE end.
Check the directory server access logs to see if there is an error returned for the search.
Also confirm that the lookthru_limit setting in <uwc_deploy_base>/WEB-INF/config/corp-dir/db_config.properties is more then 1000.

Can somebody who help me...
regards
Bhaumikcheck for the following:
1. in your messages tab in MM and IM you have changed the occurance for the multiple message.
2. Do a f7 on your BPM and confirm it is error free.
3. chk your transformation step have you given the correct container variable there ? (chk for the correct multiline or non-multiline interface)
4. recheck wherever the multiline container is used (in case of 1:N or N:1 u need to have the multiline option)
also has your process made an exit from the BPM ?

Expression must return the interface type
<b>Dear XI experts,</b>
My scenario is ;
The input parameter for the RFC is send through a file and the response from the RFC comes into XI which is then written into a File (dummy). Finally I want to have Transformation(Message Mapping to IDoc) and send to Target system.
The diagram of the following is shown below;
http://photos1.blogger.com/blogger/3087/1595/1600/6.jpg
I am getting Error in Transformation Step, <b>EXPRESSION MUST RETURN THE INTERFACE TYPE <Target message>. </b>
<b>
Pls advice, Anybody ??</b>Hi Faith,
->This error occurs when the interface mentioned in the interface mapping and in the container difference.
->Here in your case the target Message Interface in the Interface Mapping and the Interface of the container <b>modify</b> are different. Do check that.
Hope this helps.

Problem Description:
ODBC functions SQLExecDirectW and SQLExecute functions return error:”DIAG [22001] [Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 10.0]String data, right
truncation (0) “. When we enable tracing in the ODBC administrator, in the SQL.log we see that values for the arguments: ColumnSize, BufferLength, and StrLen_or_IndPtr of ODBC function SQLBindParameter are not being displayed.
Environment Used:
OS: Microsoft Windows Server 2003 R2 Standard x64 Edition.
Complier: Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 SP1 for x64.
Database: Microsoft SQL Server 2008
MDAC: Microsoft Data Access Components SDK 2.8
Note: This problem is seen only in our 64bit application. However, in 32bit
SQLExecDirectW and SQLExecute functions return successfully.
As we could not find the values of 6th, 9th and 10th arguments(ColumnSize,
BufferLength, and StrLen_or_IndPtr) passed to
SQLBindParameter in the ODBC traces for 64bit, we are not sure whether the values for the above mentioned arguments are received correctly by SQLBindParameter or not. This information would help us to debug further. So, could you please let us know why
these values are not displayed.

SQLLEN SQLLEN SQLLEN *Hi Nalsr,
From my research, I found:
"[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver]String
data right truncation" error may be returned from a call to
SQLBindParameter if the size of the string parameter being used is greater than the size of the column being compared to. In other words if the
string size of the <expression> to the left of the <comparison_operator> is less than the
string size of the <expression> to the
right, ODBC may return this error.
The resolution is to make the string size of the <expression> to the
right of the <comparison_operator> less than or equal to the
string size of the <expression> on the left.
It is difficult to track down this type of problem when third party development applications are being used. ODBC Trace can be used to help determine if this problem is occuring.
Here is an example where the customer has submitted a query "select count(*) from type1 where type1 = ?", type1 is varchar(5) and the
data type being passed by the application is char[9].
Here is the relevant portion of the trace. The following information from the "exit" of SQLDescribeParam
SWORD * 0x0095e898 (12)
UDWORD * 0x0095e880 (5)
Maps to the following with the actual value in parenthesis - SQL_VARCHAR Size 5:
SQLSMALLINT *DataTypePtr
SQLUINTEGER *ParameterSizePtr
The "exit" value from SQLBindParameter provides the following
information:
SWORD 1 <SQL_PARAM_INPUT>
SWORD 1 <SQL_C_CHAR>
SQL Data Type SWORD 12 <SQL_VARCHAR>
Parameter Size UDWORD 5
SWORD 0
Value PTR 0x0181c188
Value Buffer Size SDWORD 5
String Length SDWORD * 0x0181c103 (9)
The string length parameter is the length of the
string being bound to the parameter, in this instance there is a size mismatch which results in the SQLError and the SQLErrorW with the message "[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server
Driver]String data
right truncation" .
Hope this could be helpful.

Returning Errors from a webservice using XMLBeans
I have a webservice that accepts XML as input and output parameters, and I'm using XMLBeans to handle this. I'm trying to work out how I can return error information from the webservice, so I created an Exception.xsd schema and 'include' it in the output XML Schema, so an exception xml element is valid in the output schema. The problem is, the XMLBean class generated from the output XML schema has no methods that allow me to create an Exception element. Is there some other way of handling the return of exceptions from webservices using XML?
The answer is just throw a SoapFaultException and put the exception.xsd XMLBean in the FaultDetail section of the SoapFaultException.

Bug Report - DB toolkit returns error when calling the DefaultDatabase property with SQLite
There's an old bug in the DB toolkit where calling the DefaultDatabase property returns error -2147217887 if you're using certain DBs (such as SQLite or PostgreSQL and I believe MySQL as well).
The problem is that this property is called by a VI which is used in some of the commonly used VIs (such as the insert VI),
causing them to fail. Whoever wrote the code was aware of this issue,
since they added a comment about it, as you can see below.
The immediate fix for this is pretty easy - add code to ignore the error or don't call the property at all. It's not used anywhere in the toolkit and unless you're using the VI yourself to get the property, this won't break any code. The problem with this is that you need to do this in every PC.
NI already has a CAR for this (CAR 232063) and should hopefully fix it, so there's no need to take further action at the moment. This post is for people searching for this in the future.
Try to take over the world!Interesting. I have seen this before but it returned a different error code. (Error -2147352567)

LabVIEW 2012 -
After upgrading to Lion the bookmarks in Preview returns error message.
After upgrading to Lion the bookmarks in Preview returns error message : The File "****" couldn't be opened because you don't have permission to view it. To change the perimssion, select the item in finder and Choose File info. I have bookmarked plenty of files in Preview. How to overcome this error message???
Doesn't work Steve. I think it is an issue with Preview being sandboxed (check the sandbox column in Activity Monitor: Preview = Yes). Sandboxed apps restrict file access to those the user has explicitly selected. My theory is that this causes the unfortunate side effect of bookmarked or linked PDFs not working. A simple test: open a file with bookmarks, manually open the bookmarked file and then select the bookmark in the first file - it should open with no complaints about permissions (which leads to a weak workaround: open all the PDFs you intend to work with!).

Praveen you can pass your DB table query to check the error. I am trying to pass as mentioned above.

Pacman : returning error 16 from alpm_db_update
Recently, yaourt behave oddly on my homeserver, outputting some truncated errors messages as if they were answers from a regex search. Long story short, I tried to fix the problem but did not yet succeeded, so maybe someone here will help me.
What I tried :
Use pacman instead of yaourt -> gave me a full error message "opening /var/lib/pacman/sync/core/dhcpcd-5.1.3-1/depends failed : No file or directory" . I am not sure the problem is package-related since I uninstalled and reinstalled it.
Moreover when I tried pacman with -Scc and -Syy I had an error message about the core database. Then, with -Syu and --debug option, I had this:
:: Synchronizing packages data...
debug: failed to get lastupdate time for core
debug: using 'core.db.tar.gz' for download progress
debug: HTTP_PROXY: (null)
debug: http_proxy: (null)
debug: FTP_PROXY: (null)
debug: ftp_proxy: (null)
debug: connected to distrib-coffee.ipsl.jussieu.fr successfully
downloading de core.db.tar.gz...
Error: deleting core database failed
debug: returning error 16 from alpm_db_update : removing entry from database failed
Error: updating core failed (removing entry from database failed)
Any idea ? Thanx in advanceHave you already tried a different mirror?

ATZ returning ERROR (N95 8GB)
I'm connecting to my N95 8GB via Bluetooth from a laptop running Ubuntu Linux. I had it working fine, but for the last few days whenever I dial out, it seems that the 'ATZ' command in the chat script is returning 'ERROR' instead of 'OK'.
I just can't see any reason for it. I've disabled/re-enabled Bluetooth on both sides, rebooted the phone, rebooted the laptop, turned any connectivity-related services off/on on the phone, but still no joy.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to why 'ATZ' might return 'ERROR' on an N95?
Thanks.
RossOK, ignore that. Thinking a little clearer this morning and it looks like I had inadvertently broke my /etc/bluetooth/rfcomm.conf file at some point. I had the 'rfcomm0' port bound to Channel 1 (Hands-free Audio Gateway), instead of Channel 4 (Dial-up Networking).
Not sure how/when I broke that, but the fact that it was returning 'OK' to my 'AT' commands had me convinced I was still talking to the modem service!
Sorry for the noise,
Ross
