Clarify issue of hyperlinks in xml (CS 3)

I have the following xml code in an xml document I am importing into an InDesign CS 3 document. The code shows up in the Structure pane but it does not produce an active hyperlink. Am I doing something wrong? If the import xml feature in CS 3 doesn't handle hyperlinks, does it work in CS 4 or 5?
snippet:
<Hyperlink><a href="ref_doc.html">click_here</a></Hyperlink>
Follow-up question. Is it possible to script the solution once the Hyperlinks are imported into InDesign via xml? If so, can someone point me to a basic script?

  • Issue in Creation of XML file from ABAP data

    Hi,
    I need to create a XML file, but am not facing some issues in creation of XML file, the in the required format.
    The required format is
    -<Header1 1st field= u201CValueu201D 2nd field= u201CValueu201D>
       - <Header2 1st field= u201CValueu201D 2nd field= u201CValueu201Du2026u2026. Upto 10 fields>
              <Header3 1st field= u201CValueu201D 2nd field= u201CValueu201Du2026u2026. Upto 6 fields/>
              <Header4  1st field= u201CValueu201D 2nd field= u201CValueu201Du2026u2026. Upto 4 fields/.>
               <Header5 1st field= u201CValueu201D 2nd field= u201CValueu201Du2026u2026. Upto 6 fields/>
          </Header2>
       </Header1>
    Iu2019m using the call transformation to convert ABAP data to XML file.
    So please anybody can help how to define XML structure in transaction XSLT_TOOL.
    And one more thing, here I need to put the condition to display the Header 3, Header 4, Header 5 values. If there is no record for a particular line item in header 3, 4 & 5, I donu2019t want to display full line items; this is only for Header 3, 4 & 5.
    Please help me in this to get it resolved.

    Hello,
    you can use CALL TRANSFORMATION id, which will create a exact "print" of the ABAP data into the XML.
    If you need to change the structure of XML, you can alter your ABAP structure to match the requirements.
    Of course you can create your own XSLT but that is not that easy to describe and nobody will do that for you around here. If you would like to start with XSLT, you´d better start the search.

    Hi
    Did you check the client install samples folder ? there are a couple of almost real examples in there.
    Note you can not run these templates thru the template builder ... its a different processor. To see it working us the java app Template Viewer installed along with the word plugin.

  • Strange issue creating a BCP xml format file with double dagger '‡' (alt + 0135) as column terminator with bcp.exe

    Hi,
    I'm having issues generating a BCP XML format file using a fairly unusual column terminator, a double dagger symbol
    ‡ (alt + 0135) which I need to support.
    I'm experiencing this problem with bcp.exe for SQL2008 R2 and SQL2012.
    If I run the following command line:
    bcp MyDB.TMP.Test_Extract format nul -c -x -f "C:\BCP\format_file_dagger_test.xml" -T -S localhost\SQL2012 -t‡
    I end up with a XML format file like so:
    <?xml version="1.0"?>
    <BCPFORMAT xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sqlserver/2004/bulkload/format" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">
     <RECORD>
      <FIELD ID="1" xsi:type="CharTerm" TERMINATOR="ç" MAX_LENGTH="255" COLLATION="SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS"/>
      <FIELD ID="2" xsi:type="CharTerm" TERMINATOR="ç" MAX_LENGTH="50"
    .. and so on.
    You will notice that the TERMINATOR="ç" (Minuscule c-cedilla) is output instead of TERMINATOR="‡". The
    ç character, is strangely enough is alt + 135 (and not alt + 0135) so this might more than a coincidence! I know you can specify the codepage but this switch applies the data being imported or extracted and not for the format file
    itself (I tried it anyway).
    In order to use the XML file to bulk import I manually did a text substitution of 'ç' character for '‡' and then BCP imports '‡' data fine.
    This character swap doesn't occur if I generate a non XML format file (the '‡' character is output in the format file correctly) however, this file produces other import errors, which I don't encounter if I use a standard delimiter like a comma. So I have stuck
    with the working XML format file which I prefer.
    Does anyone know why this is happening? I'm planning to automate the generation the of the XML format file and would like to avoid the additional step of text substitution if possible.
    Thank you.

    Hi Ham09,
    According to your description , we do a test and find that the character of the terminator is changed due to the code page of Operation System. When you choose the different time zone in Data and Time bar, and do the same bcp test, you will find it will
    export the different TERMINATOR in your XML format file. For example, you can import the character "ç" (alt + 135) in (UTC-12:00)International Date Line West time zone and (UTC+09:00)Osaka, Sapporo, Tokyo time zone, and check if the terminators are different.
    By default, the field terminator is the tab character (represented as \t). To represent a paragraph mark, use \r\n.
    For more information, there is detail about code page(Windows), you can review the following article.

    Anyone have any suggestions on how I can get the xslprocessor.selectNodes to recognize my namespace?

    But if in case if i receive that time it should not fail please provide some good solution for this issue.
    Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi odie,
    Thanks for your response. But here my supplier site will always be maxiumum 2 times and minimum 1 time. My thinking is to fit this one in the existing code by repeating the supplier site only like this

    I mean only the first in the xml tags and leave the second xml. As there is not much significant for the second one.
    I appreciate your ideas on this, as the structure we are following is to rigid so I don't have much options to explore, please provide me your inputs in this context.
    Thanks for your help.

  • How do I hyperlink in XML?

    Hello. I currently am building a new project, which is a carousel. The carousel itself is OK, everything works, including the click the icon to read the description. The only problem is that I need to have a hyperlink in one of the descriptions. I know how to hyperlink in HTML, and tried that in XML, but it didn't work. I also tried XSL or something to link but that just screwed up the SWF file itself. Here is my XML code.

  • Printing issue with pdftops for XML publisher reports.

    Hi All,
    We have recently upgraded from 11.5.10 to R12.1.3.
    We are facing a strange issue for some of the seeded reports that were converted to type XML after R12 upgrade.
    First, the reports were printed with junk / xml character while submitting the requests from application (e.g. Account Analysis Report)
    We made the following changes.
    - Added PDF Publisher style with required flag set to yes to the  Account Analysis Report.
    - Set proifle option "FND: Default Template Output Type"  to PDF   (it was blank)
    - The pasta_pdf.cfg is configured to use pdftops for conversion
    - Restarted the manager.
    After this, the above report is priting fine and pdftops is converting it to correct format before printing.
    But one of the printer that Oracle EBS is configured is getting stuck specifically for this postscript based request.  The same report prints well on another printer.
    The 'lpstat -t' shows the following status for the failing printer.
    =============
    printer PRT1 is idle.  enabled since Tue 23 Jul 2013 03:24:40 PM EDT
            /usr/lib/cups/filter/pstoraster failed
    =============
    The printer queue logs on the application servers shows the following details for the failing printer.

    The printer that works fine on the same application server has the following message.
    ==========
    I [22/Jul/2013:15:16:44 -0400] [Job 139] Queued on "PRT2" by "appldfin".

    I [22/Jul/2013:15:16:44 -0400] [Job 139] Completed successfully.
    ==============
    It only goes through 2 filters and prints just fine
    The system admin team has tried to re-install the printer driver but no luck.
    Any idea what could be the cause and how can fix it?
    Any pointers will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Sunil Bhavsar

    Thanks Hussein.
    I will check the 2 options you recommended. At the same, I would like to test the direct print from the OS using pdftops utility.  But not sure how can I do that?
    The concurrent request creates the .tmp file under APPLTMP and pass that as the parameter while printing such requests. But if we need to test the .PDF output using pdftops directly, what should be the syntax? Or I would say, what should be the input file and output file?
    e.g.
    pdftops {infile} {outfile}
    I have got the .PDF output under $APPLCSF/$APPLOUT. But from one of the failed request logs, I see the system passes both as .tmp. If we need to test this directly, is there any way?
    In the meantime, I will check the debug logs option and update if it provides any additional information.

    Sunil

  • Hyperlink in XML Report

    Hi,
    I need to create a hyperlink in one of my report. The business logic demands that I get entity-wise clubbed data . But if I need to see the detail of an entity , I should just click on that entity name which should then refer me to a new report that lists out the detailed data. Currently I've designed them as two separate report, one displaying the grouped record & the other displaying the details for each entity.
    Is there a way through which I can call the second report at run-time i.e. when the user clicks on an Entity name...?
    Kindly suggest .
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    assume your detail report can be called via
    http://host:port/xmlpserver/Orders/Drill_Down/Drill_Down_Report/Drill_Down_Report.xdo?p_deptno=10
    and p_deptno is your parameter (entity name in your case).
    In your master report in the rtf-template mark your entity name and add a hyperlink with the following url:
    *{$CURRENT_SERVER_URL}/Orders/Drill_Down/Drill_Down_Report/Drill_Down_Report.xdo?p_deptno={DEPTNO}*
    The $CURRENT_SERVER_URL looks where you are and replaces the values. This assumes that your master value is DEPTNO (in your case the entity name tag of your master xml).
    The get this work you need to define the variable CURRENT_SERVER_URL in your master report. Add a new form field with the following help-text for this:
    *<xsl:param name="CURRENT_SERVER_URL" xdofo:ctx="begin"/>*

  • XML escaping issue in ABAP during XML file transfer to App. Server.

    Hello Partners:
    I was going through some work of XML integration of SAP with a third-party. But came across an issue:
    The text descriptions we are sending within an XML tag has certain special characters like '&'. But the XML parser is not escaping it. Hence its replacing '&' with "&amp;" in the XML data string. So now I need to understand how can we implement escaping via ABAP for generated XML strings? Can you all please help me to understand which methods to use and how?
    It will be much appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.
    Vivek Singh.

    Hello SAP Friends!
    I'm facing the same problem concerning special chars in XML. I've tried to unescape the '&' sign with methods of if_ixml_ostream
       l_ostream->set_ignore_escaping( ignore_escaping = '&' ).
    the character is set and can be called by
      l_str = l_ostream->get_ignore_escaping( ).
    After the rendering was done and the download has finished the xml document can be loaded in EXCEL but the special characters are replaced by & a m p;
    Has anybody found a method to avoid the behaviour?
    My original problem is, the the data have to be in one cell in excel. I know at present no method to download data (text including line feeds) from SAP to excel into one cell.
    Maybe you have found a way to use  ignore_escaping in correct way!
    Thanks a lot in advance!!!

  • Issue with faces-config.xml file

    Hi,
    I'm working on a project which needs more no. of JSF Pages and JSF Navigations,
    But when i trying to creat pages more than 25 pages,the process becoming too slow,does this
    effects the Application performance?Can any one suggest me why it happens and what are the
    limitations for creating the JSF pages.
    Does their any alternative to solve this Issue,I'm thing to create more faces-config.xml files as the
    Jsf pages increases,does this solves?
    Please suggest me.
    Thank you,
    Bandaru,

    Hi Bandaru,
    Are you trying to use the visual diagram option of faces-config? Coz i encountered difficulties when using it with many pages (more than 40) and the faces-config.oxd_faces was no longer able to support the diagram. "Solution" was to use only the overview and the sources of the faces-config. I don't know exactly but my problems were caused by the faces-config.oxd_faces and i don't think it affects performances for the application.
    For information, that was on a Jdev 10.1.3.0.4

    Tif

  • Issue in Preview through XML forms having TinyMCE editor

    Hello Experts,
    I have one issue in our client portal, which is really giving me hard time to resolve.
    So I have come to you experts for helping me to resolve this issue.
    So below are the details of the issue.
    Actually it goes like that, we are using B.Texx Framework in our Client Portal Environment and most of the work is done by the users in the portal, who has author rights. Please note that Authors have the right to Edit and save the content.
    Most of the things are made on XML forms, with the help of Java Scripts.
    Now there is one XML form(Add General Content), through which users add the general contents and there is one template provided to the user for that content. The XML forms are integrated here with the Tiny MCE editor.
    Now, there is one link (Insert/edit link) in the Tiny MCE editor, when we write some text in the body and select the text, the link in the editor gets activated and when we click on the link, a pop up comes up, in which there is a browse button, through which we select the Navigation Element Link , which takes us in the navigation of the portal content(the way it is viewed by user in the portal according to the roles ), showing us different content and we select an content and press finished. Now the selected text becomes as a link in the body of xml form, then we fill up the title and there is one preview button. When we click on the preview button, the link is displayed to us.But when we click on that link nothing happens.
    Please note that if we save that form, the links appears on portal and we are able to navigate through the link.
    For this I have checked the js file(xmlformpreview_redirect.js)  responsible.I am sharing the code of the js file below.
    // author llaegner
    // Get current URL of XML Forms Preview
    // This Javascript should be included in the ShowForm Formular (old XSL Style)
    // in xml forms builder in a label-field in the attribute caption
    // this javascript file is then called by the Preview Button on an Edit Form, because the ShowForm is launched automatically always
    // changes by ekaraca
    // Add a if-Control so a redirect will work by clicking the xml file as well
    var currentURL=top.location.href;
    var redirectURL="";
    var startOfParameters=currentURL.indexOf("?");
    if (startOfParameters < 0) startOfParameters=currentURL.indexOf("%3F");
    if (startOfParameters > 0) {
         // Provide all parameters for SAP original preview iview to our new iview
        redirectURL="/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.btexx.pct.easyWCM.customer.addons.xmlformpreview"+currentURL.substring(startOfParameters);
    if(currentURL.substring(currentURL.length-4)==".xml") {
         var xmluri = currentURL.substring(currentURL.indexOf("/irj")+15, currentURL.length); /* /irj/go/km/docs <---- 15 letters */
         redirectURL="/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.btexx.pct.easyWCM.customer.addons.xmlformpreview?show/test="+xmluri;
         top.location.href=redirectURL;
    else {
         // If we have found something to redirect
         if (redirectURL.length > 1) {
              // Change current location and switch immediately to new iview
              top.location.href=redirectURL;
    I would really appreciate if any of you experts help me resolve this issue.
    So I am eagerly waiting for the response from all of you experts present here.

    guys i m still waiting for some expert comments here...plz help me out.

  • Issue after succesfully loading xml into 11gr2 database

    Hi All,
    I'm currently experiencing an issue with a project I'm working on at a customer:
    I have succesfully loaded multiple xml files into the Oracle 11gr2 database using sqlloader and since the intention is to be able to query the loaded data, it needs
    to be transferred from the xml table to a 'normal' table, which also went ok.
    Since most of the XML files contain multiple records, i've used the fn:string-join option in the insert into....select statement and used a ; as delimiter.
    This is where I've encountered the thing that I can't seem to find a solution for.
    When there's multiple records in the xml file it inserts all the records into one record.
    So say i've got an xml file containing info for a bunch of electricity meters consisting of the fields brand, supplier, type for 3 records (actual files can be uploaded if neccesary)
    inserting the data by using the above construction gives me the following data in the destination table:
    Brand
    BrandA;BrandB;BrandC
    Supplier
    Company1;Company2;Company3
    Type
    Type1;Type2;Type3
    How do I split up the above info so that every separate record from the imported xml file lands in its own record?
    Thanks in advance!
    Cheers,
    E.

    Thanks, I'm curious on how you'll demo it
    Here's the sample xml file:
